Shyblueeyes Story Homepage
FAQ's

I find that I get asked the same questions over and over again, and so, I thought I would add a FAQ Page, and list some of the more common questions. I'll add more as they come up. It is really just a bit of fun, so don't take anything I write here too seriously, however some of the questions and answers are more serious than others, or give constructive advice and tips, while some are simply humorous. Well I find them funny LOL.

These are are all real questions that I have been asked and none of them have been made up. Again, its just a bit of fun, and It is not my intention to cause offence, but if I do, I apologies. However, perhaps you need to look at yourself and ask why that offends me, rather than hitting me with an offensive email.

Question Answer
Hello gorgeous, fancy a shag/do you want to cyber?

My reply to this question is "You do realize I am male?" This normally results in silence and no reply, but sometimes a abusive reply, which is annoying, because they messaged me, and I, in no way what so ever, pretend to be anything other than male.

But If I am really lucky, its a women, and the reply from them will be, "yes I know, I still want shag you hard with my strap-on dildo...you naughty boy "

Are you a woman/chick/girl/female? No, I am definitely male, really I am. A lot of the ADD Requests & unsolicited messages I get are on the assumption that I am a woman, clearly because only a female would use shyblueeyes as a nick! Or try to write from a female perspective.
Are you sure you are not a women? Actually, now you mentioned it... YES, I have the relevant equipment, and I have to shave my face everyday. Ok yes, I know some women do as well, but hey, its not polite to say so.
Do you crossdress or dream of being a woman? No, and no, although I would like to meet a genuine shemale/transgender/transexual (sorry, not entirely sure which term I should use).
You write like a woman, are you gay or something? No, its just the way i walk, LOL, But I am a little bit Bi, or perhaps just broadmined and adventurous. I been there and done that. Yes, I know I write gay/lesbian stories, so? Some of the nicest people I know are gay/lesbian too.
Do you fancy men? No, well very rarely, its the kinkiness. I much prefer a dominate women and strap-on dildo.
Do you prefer men or woman? Woman, I enjoy thier company socially, all my close friends are female. No I do not or nor want too shag them all. Odd as it may sound, I don't look at women simply in terms of shagging or as objects.
Why don't you like chatting to men online? In the main, because of the same repetative and stupid questions I get asked. To be honest I am not really interested in chatting to men, and its rare, very rare that I find a guy that is worth the effort. I get too many messages anyway, so I have be be selective, and my preference is too talk to women, and espiecally women from the UK.
Why did you refuse my ADD request on Yahoo IM

Usually, because you added me without first asking me or introducing yourself, its very rude. Why should I add you, if you cannot be bothered to tell me something about yourself, and at the very least indicate your age, sex, and why you want to add me. The main thing is though, I need to know that you are an ADULT, as I do not want to talk to children. The problem is I get a lot of add request, and even ones I accept, rarely chat, so whats the point.

Men are the worst culprits, they just add, no "hiya, can I add you please" etc. On the whole they go straight onto ignore, but women tend to introduce themselves, or at the very least give me some basic info. Mind, I have to admit that if its clearly a lady, I tend to accept the add request, but even then, 99% of people who I add, end up being removed or put on ignore.

Why do you write? I write because, one I enjoy it, two, one day, I'd like to think about writing professionally, and that takes time and practice. Thirdly, I want to development my writing skills and the way I express my ideas and thoughts, and the best way to do this is to practice and use those skills. Also, writing erotica is a good way to meet and chat to interesting people online, and yes it a very good way of meeting lots of very lovely women. Its just a shame they live so so far away lol.
Why write erotica Well why not, some of the first modern novels were erotica. Generally though, erotica is a good start, because what people tend to look for is relatively short stories, because, lets be honest, they are an aide to masturbation. It is easier to write short pieces, than to attempt a novel as a first attempt at writing.
Do you get paid to write? No, not at the moment, although the meeting interesting people is often worth as much as cash.
Would you like to get paid? Yes, off course I would. However getting paid to write fiction is quite a goal that few ever reach. Once you move into being paid/career writer, then you are bound by contracts and deadlines etc., so it becomes a whole new ball game.
Who do you write for? Well anybody who likes my writing stlye, but my target audience is female.
Why do you write for women? Well, if I am honest, its a good way of attracting women to come and chat to me online. However, writing for women, as male write, presents more of a challenge. Men tend to look for something that is quick and to the point, where as women tend to read things that are more complex and drawn out.
Why did you ignore my IM/refuse my Add Request/add me to you ignore list? Firstly, because you probably just added me, with out first asking if it was ok. Possibly you are male, and did the do above or just asked me the same old questions. I suspect that you think I am a woman, or because I think you are a child or you are a child.
Do you get many IM Yes, too many to chat to everybody. so I have to be selective.
Is this/are these story/stories real? No, they are fiction, really, thats why its called "Fiction". Some aspects are inspired by real events or experiences, the stories are on the whole figments of my imagination. Where there are significant elements of fact, I will indicate this in the introduction.
There very realistic? Are you sure there not real? No, sorry you are right, I forgot.....Yes I am sure there fiction.
When did you start writing? Well, I have always used my imagination, and used it to make stories up in my head as a child, and then as I became a teenager, they became more erotic. I think I first tried to write them down in my late teens. However, because of my Dyslexia, I found this difficult until I bought my first PC. The erotic fiction evolved from Cybersex/Phone Sex with a friend, which then turned into short stories. However it is only in the last 2-3 years that I have started putting more effort writing publsihing my stories online.
Where do you ideas come from? They are a mix of my own imagination and other peoples suggestions. For example the House is based on real womans fantasy, but not in great detail, she merely suggested the basic story plot, as a basis for a story. My ideas come from all sorts of places, sometimes its a woman I've seen in the street or something I've seen in a film or on TV. For example, part of the idea for Daddy's Little Hooker, came from a spoof car advert, based on the Renault Clio advert, "Pappa & Nichole" in the 1990's, where the father is looking for a hooker and finds his daughter.
How do I start writing?

Well, just make a start, sit down and write something. The main thing, is keep it simple and short at first. Then build upon it. Its like running a Marathon, if you never run one before, you don't show up on the day and run it without training...well ok, perhaps some people do.

Consider who you are writing for, i.e. you target readership. For me, its women, so I chat to my friends and cyberfriends about the things they like. I also read books that known to be favored by female readers etc. Most people seem to start of by writing about there own fantasies.

What do you hope to achieve by writing? Do you want to attrach people with similiar interests, or is it simply a desire to write. It could be many things, and it help to have this in mind.

Once you have got the feel for writing short pieces, you can start building up on them. I think the worse thing you can do, is aim to high, too soon, and become discouraged and giving up. So, start simple and build upon it. Sketch the idea, like a skeleton and then put the flesh on it.

One of the most common mistakes amateur writers make, is that the plots a too predictable or dull, the challenge is to grab your reader attention, and keep it.

However, sometime wanting is not enough, some people just don't have it, and no amount of tips or advise can change that.

How do I publish my story?

There are a number of ways you can go about this. You can join a forum or an online group, and post on there, you can join a erotic story site, such as sexstoriespost or literotica, or register with ASSTR, create you own homepage like this, and post stories there. This website is hosted by ASSTR (you can find out more, by clicking on the link). A word of warning though, if you do not like criticism, don't publish online. It can be cutting and often very harsh, but also very helpful. Most people just want to be helpful, even the harsh ones, although you do get some who just want to be offensive. Forums can be a good place to start, both Sexstoriespost and Literotica have forums where you can post stories and ask for advice and comments. They have a lot of helpful advise, although be careful not to allow people to impose thier particular style on you, its important to find your own. For example, some people, generally men, think my stories a bit too long winded, however, most, if not all the women who read my stories, like the detail and long build up. There are far too many short, boring, and samey stories online.

Deciding who you are writing for, is very important, along with why you are writing. I am writing for women, and I do so for a number of reason, firstly, I like thinking about my readers enjoying and getting satisfaction form what I write. Secondly, It's a good way to attract women to chat too, perhaps even meet some for real. Its also more of a challenge to write for the opposite sex. The answer to the who and why question determine my writing stlye, which has evolved over the years as a result of talking to women, getting feedback from them and looking at what women like to read. Scarlet Magazine is a good starting point (see Links Page).

Generally, people tend to focus on what they are interested in, a particular fetish or theme, for example mind control or Fan Fiction, etc. and they simply want to share and get some feedback or chat to people with similiar interests. Having an idea of who and why, while not vital, can help you get the best out of your story.

On a final note, don't be afraid of the THIRD PERSON!!!.

Ok, I'll explain for those who have no idea what I mean. There are three writing styles, first person, second person, third person. Most people start of in the first person, i.e. they are in the story, as a character/narrator, for example: I was walking down the street when I saw this gorgeous woman walking towards me. Personally I find I rarely enjoy stories written in the first person.

Second Person is very rare, and I think its where the writer makes the reader a character, or is directly talking to you, example: you are walking down the street and you see a gorgeous women. You think...

Third Person is, and I am not very good at explaining this, where you are outside the characters, for example: He/Tom/The man walked down the street and saw a gorgeous woman waking towards him. He thought....

Most Novels are writen in the third person. However this is not a definitive explanation, just my interpretation. There are many online, some good, some so complicated they make no senseat all. I have read some explinations of grammer that are so complicated that they are meaningless to most people, and as a result, are pointless in that they completely fail to communicate the information; what is the point of perfect grammer and spelling if it fails to communicate the ideas it is trying to get over.

What about Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation, are they important.

Yes, of course they are, it is no good writing, if people cannot understand what you are writing about. However, there are some people, who are obsessed with correct grammer and spelling. These people seem to get sexually excited by perfect grammer or derive some satisfaction from being smarter than us mere mortals, and delight in telling us out much more smarter they are. Many often take time to write to me about my mistakes, some to the extent of being insulting and offensive. Personally, I believe that 99.9% of people would not notice any but the worst mistakes. In end, as long as it makes sense, and people can understand it, its ok. English Grammer and Spelling is complicated and hard to master, espiecally if you are Dyslexic like me, and you were written off at school as being to dumb/thick to bother with.

I think one of the most important things to get right, is dialogue and presenting speach, which many people get wrong, and which can spoil a good story. It is important to use speach marks "", and also to start a new line, when the person speaking, changes. Without this basic format, a story can be hard to read. Some say you should start a new paragraph. I've read one the other day that would have been very good, except that there were no speach marks, and so it was very difficult to read, because it was difficult to tell which character was speaking.

On the other hand, I have read stories, which while correct in grammer and spelling were so dull and unexciting that I gave up reading them, despite being rated quite highly. Cleary many people rate correct grammer and spelling more highly than excitement and plot...perhaps they get off sexually from it.

Why don't you use more illustrations in your stories?

Firstly copyright, most people who put illustrations have no right to do so, they are effectively stealing somebody else work to enharnce there own. Also, they are often not necessary or relervant to story, and use too much bandwidth. I do not use other people or organizations copyrighted images. Where I do use illustrations, in The House for example, they are my own, that is to say, I have draw or painted them.

Where I have included them, it is because I think they will enhance the story, and provide a visual aide to the text. Other graphics that I use, i.e. backgrounds, have come from open sources or are free to use for non-commerical use.

The fact is most so called illustrated stories use images for which they have no permission to use, and which are often not relervant to the story, and I don't see the point, its just porn..

Why don't you allow you stories to be used on Paysites? Because they are not paying me to use my work. I only submit stories to sites that have free access. If my stories do appear on a paysite, it is without my permission or knowledge, and they are infringing my copyright.
Why don't you use Ass?

Ass is a quadrupled of the Donkey Family, and I am not into Donkeys sexually. I have no wish to kiss an ass/donkey or do anything thing else to an ass/donkey. Well perhaps donate some money to a donkey santuary because of all that donkey kicking Americans keep banging on about, at least I assume thats what they mean when they message me saying "I gonna kick you ass buddy!" Aside from the fact that I don't actally own an ass, its very cruel to abuse animals in that way. And as for sexually molesting an Ass/Donkey, well lets not go there lol.

Arse is and always has been the correct term.

Do you write request?

It depends on what you mean. If you have story idea, and you think I might be interested by all means ask. However, generally, I do not go into detailed personal stories, for example, I had a guy who begged, and mean begged, me to write a story for him based on a character in one of the Star Trek series. I had no idea who he was talking about. Basically he wanted me to turn his fantsies into a story and No I don't do this, its too involved and time consuming.

On the other hand, if its a plot or a theme, then I may consider it, IF it catches my interest, for example the Kelly story, and The House, both based on personal fantasies, where I was giving a rough outline of a plot, and few pointers, and then I was left to build a story up around it I may consider it. That is MAY, not will.

Why I DON'T write about Children in a sexual context. Because I don't like child abuse. Because I believe that writing about the sexual exploitation of children fuels real child abuse. (Ok mid teens upward is bit of a grey area, but I find its best on the whole to stear clear of the whole subject). Because I do not wish to attract people who are interested in or activity involved with child abuse. I don't wish to be linked to somebody who is a child abuser when they are caught and arrested. Because I do not wish to attract the attention of any law enforcement agencies. THIS IS NOT AN ISSURE THAT I WISH TO DEBATE. What ever you personnal views on child abuse, most cultures and societies consider it ABUSE, and wrong.
But its fiction, no real children get hurt. What part of "THIS IS NOT AN ISSURE THAT I WISH TO DEBATE" didn't you understand. But to answer the question, while it is true that it is fiction, I believe that it dose have an impact on real child abuse. In the end it is not what you or I think thats important, but how others interpret you actions that matter, i.e. The Police or in a court room. The Police are quite simple chaps and this is how they will look at it: "You write about Child Abuse = You are interested in Child Abuse = You are a or potential, Child Abuser." It may not be right, but in a open court room, will it matter. So best to stay well away. You have to consider what your family, friends and work colleagues will think as well. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I WISH TO TALK ABOUT. If its what you into, don't contact me.
You write about Incest? Isn't That Illegal Yes, it is illegal, but so are many things that authors choose to write about. However all my characters are consenting adults, and I clearly indicate a stories principle theme, so you don't have to read it. People should respect my decision not to write about certain themes.
