Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nicola based on a real person?

No, she is totally fictional. Her name is made up, her description is based a little on model Linda O'Neil. The photo that formerly appeared on the website was downloaded from alt.binaries.pictures.models. The current picture of Nicola was kindly drawn by a reader and based upon the descriptions in the text.

Update:Aussie girls tend to have a very definite look, and Nicola is supposed to embody that: tall, slim, all-over tan, large but not huge breasts, a charming toothsome smile, and a perky can-do attitude.

Are you a guy or a girl?

I'm a single male in my 30s.

How come you have a female handle?

Sigh. It's a long story but suffice to say I'm stuck with a yahoo address I can't change. I originally posted under the nick 'Sarah Faster' but didn't like the idea of presenting myself as female, so I settled on Nicola's nickname, Knickers. Although 'knickers' is usually taken to mean women's underwear the term also applies to men's.

Are you American?

Nope. I've spent time in the US, but I'm neither a citizen nor a resident.

Where do you get your ideas from?

To be blunt, my own sexual fantasies. Also, movies, TV, music videos, etc. Check out the Notes page for more details.

Why did you start writing for assm?

I got hooked on assm back in 1997, but by 2001 I was pretty bored by most of what was being posted. I wasn't seeing the kind of material I wanted to read. I'd been kicking around some ideas for a series based around a model who becomes an actress. So, in August 2001 I wrote my first story Bikini Audition. Based on the positive feedback, I continued to write more. Since July 2002, work has made it difficult for me to find the time to carry on, so if you do like a story please write and tell me. Letting me know what you liked and why will help me to write more and better stories.

How come only twenty stories are planned?

The stories listed here are the ones that I definitely intend to write. More may be added if I come up with some good ideas and/or I find the time.

Update: After completing the original 20 Nicola Adventures, I am currently extending the series with the Lost Nicola Adventures. There is no definite number of these planned, I'll be working on them as & when I feel like it.

Update: After writing 6 Lost Nicola Adventures, I don't think I can commit to any more new stories.

Which do you think is your best story?

Hard to say. I'm pretty pleased with the writing in Bikini Audition, Nicola: Live & Uncensored and Bikini Sorority House Party. I also like Sex Kitten but that's probably because it got a good review. Hollywood Party Hostesses is perhaps the story I find most arousing.

How come Angela isn't in every story?

That would limit the scope of the series, and I think it would detract from Nicola being the star of the show. It would also degenerate into a rip-off of Shon's 'Thigh vs Thigh' stories. Angela is a good character, and their rivalry makes for great conflict, but not in every single story.

Do you work in movies? If so, do these sorts of things really go on?

Yes, I've worked in films/TV for the better part of a decade. The industry's actually pretty tame (at least, it is as I've seen it). It's just a job, and even when you're shooting a nude/sex scene you just have to get it done with a minimum of fuss. It's not considered terribly professional to shout out "crikey you can see her growler!" right in the middle of a take. :)

Have you ever written a T&A movie script?

Yes, in around 1991-92 I wrote a script called Angels on the Court, a comedy about an all-girl basketball team. It was never made, or even finished. I recently took a look through my old floppy disks but couldn't find it, so this screen gem will doubtless be lost forever.

Can I send you a story idea?

Update: Please do not send story ideas or requests. Any such emails will be deleted without a reply.

Can I write a Nicola Adventure/use one of your characters in my own story?

Hmmmmm. I'm not automatically going to say 'no'. I'll take a look at your idea and (if you've already written on assm) your other work. Any story would have to be true to the style and content that I've used so far, and not unduly buck the continuity of the series. If you want to write a story in which Nicola is raped and mutilated, the answer will definitely be no.

Can you write a Nicola Adventure featuring me as a character?

Update: Please do not send story ideas or requests. Any such emails will be deleted without a reply.

Are these real movies?

Most of them, such as Bikini Stewardesses 1 & 2, Kristi Ducati's Bikini School and Bikini Sorority House Party are fictional. There is a real movie on ifilm.com called "Bikini Bandits", though it has nothing to do with the one presented here. But I do make reference to real movies. There is a movie called Bikini Carwash Company (but no TV series). The movies featured on the Reviews page are all real.

What the heck is a B-movie? Are they like porn?

B-movies came out of the studio system of the 30s. In those days, people went to the cinema the way we watch television- they'd sit and watch not just 1 movie but a variety of newsreels, shorts, serials and features. Along with expensive high-profile 'A' pictures, studios would make cheaper 'B' movies, selling them to movie houses in packages. With the explosion of youth culture in the 60s, B-pictures came into their own as cheap, campy, titillating entertainment. The drive-in became a key means of screening these films. In the 80s, the development of home video again changed the nature of B-movies. They could be made even cheaper, and distributed through rental stores. Later, cable TV provided another outlet. There are a number of kinds of B-movies: comedy, horror, erotic thriller and action. It is mostly the sexy comedies that I'm interested in. B-movies are not strictly porn. They may be soft-porn, but there is no explicit sex, and the focus is on nudity and the performers's bodies (that is why the few guys who appear in B-movies tend to be really good looking as opposed to the slug-like Ron Jeremys of porn).

What does 'STSWB' stand for?

STSWB stands for Save The Something With Breasts. It refers to the time-honored movie formula of women parading around half-naked to promote an ailing business, e.g. the carwash in Bikini Carwash Company. The term was coined by b-moviedom's leading scholar Joe Bob Briggs.

Are the "reader responses" in your notes pages real?

Yes they are genuine remarks that people have written and emailed me (or posted on Literotica), usually copied and pasted directly. None of them are made up.

I sent you an email and you posted it on the site. It's a little... um, 'embarassing', could you remove it please?

All reader responses are posted anonymously. However, if you wrote something personal that you now really wish you hadn't, I'll gladly remove it.

How come in your stories there's such a long time before there's any real sex, and even then it's pretty brief?

I write to titillate, setting up sexy characters and situations and relying upon the reader's imagination. There are plenty of stories already that go into very long and graphic detail. I'm more interested in nudity, teasing, sexy costumes, that sort of thing. I guess you could call my stories "softcore".

Your stories are too tame! Have you ever thought about MC, BDSM, best?

Actually, yes. When I first started coming up with ideas I did have stories in mind that featured these subjects. However, I felt the light-hearted tone I evolved made them inappropriate. Also, I became rather fond of Nicola and didn't want her to come to any harm.

You know, there's a few typos in your stories...

That's to be expected. I don't use an editor, so mistakes are bound to slip through. Also, although I normally use British English, I've chosen to post my stories in American English. Occasionally, my natural spelling instincts come through, so you get colour/color or modelling/modeling. I try to correct typos whenever I find them.

The disclaimer at the start of your stories is different to others I've read. "This tale features women presented as sexual objects. There is nothing wrong with this as they are only fictional characters. I urge readers, especially young males, to not regard real women in this way." What's that all about?

Reading my stories you might get the idea that women exist solely to provide sexual gratification to men. I want readers to realise that you shouldn't treat real women in this way, especially young men, who are vulnerable to this kind of thinking.

It's not just a disclaimer about copyright, or about content, it's a disclaimer about how the material should be read. It's OK to fantasise, but be careful about what you do out there in the real world.

I read somewhere that during the shooting of Meatballs 4 Corey Feldman mistook Kristi Ducati for the character she was playing, and treated her like a bimbo. Needless to say, she put him right in no uncertain terms. I wouldn't want any of my readers to make a total Corey of themselves. :)

I'm having problems with the site. HTML pages are only loading halfway then stop.

Most likely the download is being interrupted, and you only get an incomplete page. Try clicking refresh.

What web tools do you use?

Call me old fashioned, but I know how to code HTML and produce most of the site by hand. I don't use packages such as Frontpage because a) they're crap b) they're too expensive and c) they're crap. They bloat pages with extraneous and unnecessary code. Word (from which a couple of stories were exported as HTML) is even worse. And no, using Frontpage would not save time that could be otherwise be spent writing stories, as I'd have to clean up the crappy code it produces (it ain't even compatible with IE!)

Update: OK, I confess to having used Netscape's HTML editor in order to get the Random Quote generator to work properly on MSIE. But as it still mangled my original hand-written code and produced undesireable effects, I only used the relevant code and pasted it into my own page.

Where can I find the story (x)?

All the stories are here on the site. Once, I posted 2 stories at the same time to the newsgroup, and the second one appeared on ASSM first, leading someone to ask where the 'missing' story was. Everything is right here.

Just between you and me, there is a real Nicola somewhere, isn't there?

Nope.
