Just accept that nothing lasts forever. Most of my favorite shows will never see more episodes, and eventually, even the best things have to come to an end (except Doctor Who, that can go on forever).

I wouldn't worry. As long as there are pony fans with passion, the series will live on in the form of fanart, fanfiction and others. In fact, the fandom may, as evidenced by some fandoms in the wake of the cancellation of their favorite shows, grow stronger in its creativity. Take a look at the fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog "SATAM" cartoon. The Archie Sonic comic is now staffed mostly by old school Sonic fans and has become the spiritual successor to a cartoon that'll be 20 years old in a few years.

A few of us may move on, but others will stay for as long as they're comfortable. They may, then, pass the baton onto new fans who are just discovering the show for the first time. Great works have lasting fandoms, and if you're worried about what will happen to it, get involved.

You've got to remember, that with the earlier MLP series they made movies out of them. Even if it does come to an end, cross your hooves they'll make a full length picture out of it.

Besides, I'm sure some ponies recall the old cartoons of the 80's, they had much more than 2 seasons. Hopefully the signed Lauren for a few years.

first of all, this is nothing to worry about for at the very, very least a year and a few months from now, as there's a second full season already ordered

secondly, for how passionate the community based around this show is, i don't think it's ever going to be "forgotten". there'll be people willing to talk about ponies, enough so that multiple communities will be justified, for a very, very long time.

Agreed. I am sure there are boards out there for all kind of stuff that used to be and ended and they never forget about it.

This will just be on of those events where in the end. The spirit of friendship lives on.

I'd also like to put this out there: the show is done in flash animation, and there are already people making ponies in vector images. Get some voice actors, and people could do their own episodes and put them up.

I've thought about this a few times, OP.

The best thing I can say is this isn't something you will have to worry about for quite a long time. The first season may be nearing its end, but there will be more seasons guaranteed. Even when it's over, there will still be a fanbase. There may be some who leave because the "fad" is over, but many of us will be sticking around.

what's important is what their adventures taught us. we must understand the true meaning of friendship and use it in our lives (which a lot of us are doing right now).

by the time the ponies are gone, im sure we will all have much better lives and better friends. we just have to be ready to say goodbye when it all ends.

I don't know about everypony else, but I'm not leaving. Ponychan may die, but I'll roam from site to site, looking for MLP lovers.

first season isnt over yet and ther will be at least a season two.
so just dont think about that and enjoy your time with your friends as long as you can.

You're worrying too much. I know shows like Sonic SatAM that still have a dedicated fanbase after fifteen years of being cancelled.

Sure, the episodes will stop one day, but we'll always be able to enjoy the show.

I thought of the same thing man and felt the same way to. Just don’t think of it and have a kick flank time why you can with every one.

Don't worry about something like that, it spoils the fun and good times you can have with the show and your fellow bronies now. Think less of the future and embrace what you have now. *hugs*

I've seen a few fanbases still going strong years after whatever they enjoyed is gone for good, I'm sure a good chunk of us will still be here years after FiM is over.

look at it this way, we have 17 out of 26 episodes, leaving 9 left which means we have 9 weeks guaranteed, followed by the fact this show is like one of the most popular shows (on the internet at least) that the chances of a second season are almost guaranteed.

Exactly. I mean, if a successful band splits up, does that mean that suddenly all their fan communities disappear and no-one talks about them anymore? Of course not.

If a fan completely abandons what they enjoy the very moment it's over, then were they really a fan in the first place?

Plus, fanbases create multitudes of content themselves, whether it be fanfiction, art, etc etc...things like that always keep such communities alive.
