Yo, been lurking around for a bit and thought I'd finally introduce myself. Sorta. Don't have a name yet. Not really familiar with these kind of forums yet, but I really wanted to say hi!

So, about me. Currently in college to learn animation. Studio B(that Vancouver studio working on My Little Pony) happens to be filled with alumni from my program and I'm pretty sure a few of them work on MLP. For sure I have a teacher who is a storyboard artist for it. So you could say I had an inclination to start watching the show.

And um, I may only be a student animator, and my stuff sure isn't animator material right now, but I sure do know between a good and bad animation. And MLP sure is a good show. Story wise, layout wise, art direction wise, character design wise, timing wise, humor wise and all those other wises.

So, happy to join!

Hey brony! It's cool to find another college student. How's it working for you? I just started college last week (Jazz and rock school) and I'm loving every minute of it.

Jazz and Rock? Pretty awesome, that is. I'm in second semester myself; it's a pretty intensive program, so there's a lot of work... but it's fun work. I get to draw all weekdays, and learn about drawing all weekdays! And weekends. I have no life, hahaha.

Pleased to meet ya Anonypony, I think it's swell that you're in an animation program!

F'i only had the foresight years ago, I would've studied animation specifically, instead of film-- I'm trying little by little to learn it myself, but it's slow business. In fact, it's not even a business since there's no money to it. Anyway, good luck friend!

That's cool that you're learning film! In fact, I'd say animation and film go hand in hand. In our program, we have a class to learn live action directing and what not. So if you've studied film, I'd say you have an advantage in learning animation!

Yeah, the overall package of animation is chock-full of filmmaking principles, but I graduated over a year ago. The unfortunate thing about live-action filmmaking is that there's not much opportunity to draw, and nowadays I regret not focusing on improving my illustration skills (or practicing the principles of character animation), since in the end I kinda ended up wanting to just make cartoons anyway...

Heheh, well that's alright. Actually, it's been reading break this last week, and it only took me that long to get rusty with drawing, so I know what you mean. I'll probably go for extra life drawing next week.
