I'm Peppermint! I really like cooking and reading.. I'm very bookish, so it's hard for me to make friends. But I'm very friendly! I was ecstatic when I found this board. How is everypony doing?

Hi Peppermint! Welcome to Ponychan.

I'm doing shocking well today. How's life treating you?

Oh, it's so-so, I just got two days off work, so I'm pretty happy about that! And thank you. :) I'm excited, tomorrow I have off and the next episode comes out!

I'm looking pretty forward to the new episode, too. It's the highlight of my week. Days off work are always nice! ...that's one of the things I really miss about having a job. xD

Aw, I'm sure you'll find one.. It's all about perseverance. And of course calling your potential employer! Where did you used to work?

And for the sake of the conversation, what kind of things do you like to do? (:

Unemployment is pretty tough out here... I've worked in a lot of places. A few stores in the mall, a game center, a chemical plant...I've even catered weddings. I'm Hazmat, food service and forklift operation certified. =D

What I do, hm? My big passion in life is Belegarth. It's a medieval combat group. Basically we put on medieval clothing and pummel each other with foam weapons. More of a sport than a LARP, since we're full contact, full force and don't roleplay. I also cook, play numerous tabletop RPGs..and I'm teaching myself the violin! I'm the alpha-nerd of the herd, so to speak. =D

What about you?

That's so cool! I've always wanted to do something like that! Dressing up in medieval clothing is so much fun, I always go to the Ren Faires when they come here. I'm just a sub/pizza cook at a local restaurant.

No foolin'? You'd probably love getting into Bel, even if you weren't interested in the fighting. Heck, I know non-coms who have more fun at events than half the fighters out there.

Irony! My first job (at age 13, god I feel old) was at a pizza parlor!

It sounds like something I'd really be able to get into. I just enjoy dressing up in general.. (: Any excuse for me to do so in awesome, and I've always liked corsets, so I guess it works out.. Although I can't imagine it would be practical to fight in one. My first job was an under the table sort of thing at a organic health food store at 16, which was a while ago too.

You'd be surprised. A friend of mine recently made an armored corset. Once it's form fitted, it should work out quite well. Ha, you've made me simultaneously miss the Bristol Ren Fair and totally psyched for Spring War (the next big Belegarth event) all at the same time.

Oh wow, they must have some serious skills. That sounds like it would look pretty badass.

Unrelated: I can't get ''Winter Wrapup'' out of my head!

Winter Wrap-Up has become my housework song. It's oddly motivating.

Making armor isn't terrible hard. Chainmail is really just time consuming. Leather is all about precision cutting and having a few specialized tools.

I make clothing, knit and crochet, but I've never tried anything like that before. Doing creative things is really my passion. That, and computers/gaming.

Awesome stuff. I'm terrible at sewing, but I'm learning. It's bothersome to rely on other people to make me garb and weapon covers all the time. So, learning how to sew is a must for me.

Oh trust me, it gets way easier as you go along, especially if you own a sewing machine. I took a year long class on it, I can make dresses and shirts and such. I thought it was really complicated at first, too.

Indeed. When I started, I could very crudely hand stitch. Now I can...slightly less crudely hand stitch.

Aw don't worry, you'll get there. Just have patience and diligence.

Welcome to Ponychan Peppermint!

I'm love reading too and a bit of a bookworm myself.

=)
I hope you feel welcome here.
