I completely agree with your sentiments on the other series, this is the first one that's hooked me. I think it's safe to say it's rather diffrent form the others though :P

I never cared much about FHoIF. Only played a game once, where I had to do a lot of tasks, that I rather should have done in real life.
(<- My face, when I realised the game would never stop letting my wipe up cobwebs or finding single socks.)
