okay so like I've been having a problem with the Quick Reply Box for several years now but I never thought to bring it up until now

anyways, the issue is whenever I expand the box with the little three lines in the corner, I can only ever EXPAND it, I can't get it to go back down

basically if I drag it to the right, it opens, but when I try to drag it back to the left, it doesn't budge.

I can move it up and down no issue, but trying to shrink it horizontally. doesn't do anything

so is this like an issue on my end or is it a site issue and can it be fixed one way or the other?

Will probably have to wait for zeke, but sounds like a browser issue.
I know on mine, on this phone, with this browser, i always resize the box to nothing but a sliver by accident while scrolling haha. But that doesn't happen with other browsers.
QUESTION!-
Are you talking about the quick reply box, that acts like a popup and fallows in view while you scroll down the thread, or, are you talking about the default reply box that is static at the top of the page?

I AM using Chrome... it may just be that.

I specified the Quick Reply Box. That's the one that follows as you scroll.

Fair enough, you did specify. I only asked because on my end, the default reply box has the 3 lines in the corner you mentioned, and my quick reply box doesn't.
So yeah, browsers get pretty weird about this shit. Thats also why it doesn't resize when i scroll when i use firefox mobile, because on that browser my default reply box dose NOT have those 3 lines in the corner haha.
So yeah, first thing and simplest to trouble shoot would be to try a different browser and see if the problem persists.

This actually isn't just a you problem. I use Opera, not Chrome, and I have the same issue with the QR box. Can expand to the right but can't shrink it back down.
