Hello and good evening people.
I opened this thread because I need the mods/ admins to clear something up for me and maybe for others as well.
Since I joined this community back in 2016 I have been drawing things for the users, because it was funny for us, it was funny for me and it helped me to practice.

I have drawn for Anon, Heavy Mole, Mac, Holly, Nimble Wing, Wheat, ect.
But the person whom I have drawn more for is Mikie (about 5 drawings).All of them (minus one) came out from my desire to give something to this community.

I stopped, I quit giving those personalized drawings because economical problems/collegue, but I had decided to get back on track this year by posting like the old times.

Past March 30th I drew a picture of Starlight Glimmer and I posted it on /ef/ on 1th April as an innocent joke to Mikie. However, it turned out it was not so innocent as I assumed: it got deleted.
I apologized to Mikie because I assumed I hurt his feelings.

The most of us know the situation between Mikie and Starlight, but fact that the picture got deleted (was not even NSFW) while other poster can open a thread just say the N-word or others can post fat ponies or NSFW stuff , confuses me and kinda discourages me from trying again with the future drawings I had planned.

There is obviously a force leaning the scale here, but that is not the main problem. I need to know where the line is drawn, clear rules because this:

Staff will only remove content that is illegal, improperly tagged or just plain spam, with everything else being free game.


does not give me an explanation.

Can't we post said character breaking the 4th wall?
Can't we post said character in sexual situations?
Can't we post said character being aggresive/rude?

Please add it to the rules.

I suggest as a beginning:

I apologize this you find this thread unnecessary, dumb or narcissistic.
I just believe we need clear rules in the board we all have more freedom, whether you are interested in my drawings or not.

It's a selfish rule. As a functioning adult, Mikey should be either avoiding spoilered NSFW threads if Starlight is so triggering, or blocking people who post her in his settings. As the admin of the website, it's an embarrassment.

We don't need to encode it in a "more appropriate" way. It needs to be removed altogether.

It was something I never intended on adding in the first place. I used to just delete certain images and be on my way.

But people decided I was to make it a rule and they demanded it as such.

So that's what I gave them. I only I can enforce these rules and I can any board I want to. Usually nothing ever happens but it doesn't usually happen.

It was a rule that existed on original Efchan, back when Black Butterfly ran it, essentially a carte blanche for mods to act on anything they saw fit to act on. The intention was to cut down on rules-lawyering from certain people by having something we could point to and go "Look, you were warned", but it sort of fell by the wayside. Which I'm not entirely unhappy about, seeing as I've seen that sort of "general conduct" rule get abused in other places, but I figured that the mods here wouldn't abuse it. And to my knowledge, they didn't.

So, if the point is to run ef like efchan, which was mikies promise, would a rule that said something along the lines of if you are posting something that you know a specific poster finds offensive, you need to warn them or something, violate the spirit of that?

Depends. Only real rules on Efchan as it was before it was closed was "Don't post anything illegal" and "Don't ban evade", though moderators reserved the right to override that as needed. Ultimately, I think the kinds of people who are gonna get upset and say "That's not in the rules!" are honestly gonna be unhappy no matter how we implement it, as we saw when we tried to implement that rule and met much resistance from certain people who seemingly wanted a full constitution drawn up.

And I realize that last part's more than a little condescending, but goddamn, some people just never seem to be pleased.
