Recently ponyville.us made an official anonymous board called /mask/ or masquerade, and so far it seems to be going really well. And from looking through mlpchans old archives it seems that people really liked the anonymous board there as well.

So I'm requesting that an /anon/ board is added to the site. Much like the previous /anon/ this board should essentially be a place of shitpoting and bants, somewhere people can post anonymously and make threads/posts that don't belong on any board without any repercussions. The only board rule should be that all users must post anonymously, other than that all bets are off. I think this might be a fun way to get the sites actively up, as well as giving people a place to vent and post whatever they want without any stigma attached.

Feel free to discuss suggestions for this new board idea down below.

From what I saw in the archives /anon/ was basically just /b/. /ef/ is only about 20% /b/, plus it's not anonymous for the most part.

We have had something like this once before and nobody liked it. Although, we used to have a feature that Shutter added to the site where you can individually make certain threads forced anon with a tag. #Anon.

I don't know if that carried over or not. But, as >>15217 has stated there would need to be some sort of demand for it.

I don't see why we couldn't try out an /anon/ board for a month. If people like it then the appropriate infrastructure can be built around it, if they don't then it can just be removed.

That's the whole point of this thread. To see if anyone likes the idea of an /anon/ board, although it's quite clear that they don't.

Lack of accountability is the cause of most of Ponychan's issues. Everybody wants to criticize the excess political bait that drove away most of the community, but nobody wants to acknowledge the nameless tumors that perpetuate it. This site has a terrible history of treating the symptoms and feeding the cause.
