Is there a way you guys could add an option to turn on colored ID's for /ef/ like 4chan/8chan? I ask because it makes it kinda complicated to see which anon is which when reading through a thread. You have to read through all those weird numbers which is tedious.

Post IDs contain 6 characters that can be treated like hexadecimal numbers since they're all 0-9 or A-F, and since HTML element colors are usually represented by three 2-digit hexadecimal numbers (3 x 2 = 6), I just set the background color to the ID.

There's still a problem though. If an ID's background color is too dark, the text is unreadable, so I'm figuring out how to set the ID text color to black or white, depending on the background color.

Aside from a toggle switch in settings, one solution, (which I'm assuming >>14910 will know how to calculate) is to decrease the saturation of the raw values. Then it will at least look reasonable. The super-intense and ultra-dark values both stand out like a sore thumb.

I noticed it looks a lot better on my PC than it does on my phone.

It kind of washes out the text completely on my phone, but i assume thats just the quality of my screen.

just a suggestion im putting out there

if you have it set it like this it would look a lot less wonky and would show just the ID itself which is what we want to see anyway

other than the color being white for the darker background and the ability to toggle it on or off thats it

For calculating whether the text should be white or black based on the background color, it actually uses the same values as 8chan

I added a settings option so you can choose whether you want them colored or not. It defaults to unchecked.

Personally though I would leave it so they're on by default that way people know the have the option to turn it on or off. And the fact it exists.

There are two reasons why.

1.) Because your IP has changed.

and

2.) Because you're in a different thread which the ID changes that way on purpose to give a little more protection to Anonymous users.
