the first 6 seasons for sure. After that there's only a couple good episode in 7-9. IMO 1-5 are the golden era, 1-4 is the gold era of the golden era, and 2 is the best overall.

Definitely from seasons 1 - 7 (with 2, 4, 5 and 7 being the best IMO).While not bad, seasons 8 and 9 had a definite drop of 'good' episodes.

We might want to revive the old debates over which episode to show first to someone who has never seen any. In my experience, "Lesson Zero" is a good bet.

Lesson Zero, Dragonshy, Bridle Gossip, The Last Roundup, Sonic Rainboom, It’s About Time, ACW, RoH, and god damn it, I don’t care if it’s an unpopular episode (everyone who hated it left the fandom YEARS ago anyways), it’s easily one of the best ensemble episodes of the series, Spike At Your Service.

Why would you not watch it release wise. It has an overarching story even if it often don't matter.
And it must feel strange to see anything after S3 or 4, and then decide to watch from the beginning and see the calm S1 stuff.
