After "Hub Network", where will MLP:FiM go next? cmaven555 36781247

It's official: Now that "Hub Network" has changed into "Discovery Family", MLP:FiM is about to outlive (and perhaps outgrow) its own incubator.

Sure, MLP:FiM will continue to air on "Discovery Family"; but I have a feeling that Discovery Communications wants to slowly (and I do mean slowly) phase out everything "Hasbro" overtime.

But this is a great opportunity for MLP:FiM to touch the lives of much more people than it could on "Hub Network". An article on EQD talked about the possibility of Hasbro syndicating (and likely continuing) the series on another network, such as "Disney Channel".

I find "Disney Channel" to be a pretty good idea for a new home to MLP:FiM (far better than the 'Adult Swim for children' called "Cartoon Network"); but I'm also thinking it could possibly do well on a broadcast network such as CBS (in the morning), or even PBS. The first season is already E/I accredited, and I do believe the rest of the seasons can also apply and get the E/I accreditation as well (I don't see any content in the subsequent seasons that could prevent it); so, broadcast networks can air MLP:FiM as part of their daily required E/I programming. Also, by airing on a broadcast network, people who don't have access to networks such as Nick, CN or "Disney Channel" will get to experience MLP:FiM.

And that's not all: I also feel that the show could do very well for at least 2 more seasons (for a total of 7 seasons; around the same about of seasons shows such as "The Smurfs" and "Muppet Babies" have); and I also can imagine MLP:FiM getting a star (maybe even a special star) on the 'Hollywood Walk Of Fame' (I'm certain many of you will agree that it deserves a star).

Actually, on that note, I wonder if we could ever get viewing numbers for all the downloaded and YouTubed episodes rather than just the people who managed to watch it on TV. I'll be anything the numbers are ridiculously higher.

They're not getting rid of FiM. It's the biggest hit the channel's ever gotten, and they even went and got exclusive TV rights to Rainbow Rocks.

I also have doubts it'd get aired on Disney Channel if it was shown on other channels. Disney XD, maybe. Not even Star Wars gets to be on Disney Channel.

That's because a normal peron's standards are not as restrictive as the E/I people's. Season 1 only barely got away with things like insults as bad as "Egghead" and main characters involved with cheating, even when said characters were supposed to be in the wrong, and that was when they had E/I people looking over their scripts in the first place. E/I has some very restricting standards, and I doubt the past few seasons are going to pass with things like New Fluttershy's behavior or the various fight scenes in some episodes without the episodes being largely edited.

I HATED equestria girls 1 with a passion, but I think this one was actually pretty good. The middle and the end really pick up. And I think the beginning only felt slow to me because I'd seen pretty much 100% of the first 30 minutes in the previews XD

thinking about it, the dazzles kind of corrosponded to the most popular mane six in their personalities: Sonata being like pinkie, a ditzy funny one. Aria being like RD, a brash and aggressive one, and Adagio being the intelligent leader, kind of like Twilight.

Look at how celestia used the EOH; that was a wave motion gun. and the Way the tree of harmony used the EOH was more of a giant explosion.

You could argue that Rainbow power was a carebear stare yes, but it was a bit esoteric in that it was a weird AOE of the mane six running across the world

I'd say that the movie could have worked just as well with ponies, but then I remembered that Rainbow Dash is absolutely wrecked as a character. Then I realized that it only worked because that shit would never fly in regular Equestria.

And honestly, Celestia is the perfect symbol of why EqG is much weaker than FiM. In FiM, she's a Demigoddess of boundless power and wisdom who's always there to protect and serve her people, somepony that has seen entire generations rise and fall, and has vanquished many evils, including her own power-mad sister. EqG Celestia is some random woman in her fourties who's too tired for this shit.

I'm already busy watching The Last Airbender (THE KICK-ASS SHOW, NOT THE ASS MOVIE. Toph is awesome, btw), I don't want to stop it to watch crap.

All that I know is that Celestia in the movie sucks because she's not the real Celestia, just some random-ass woman who looks like her.

Rainbow dash is STILL my favorite character.

Just sunset is a decently enjoyable character, and I wouldn't mind seeing her again.
If they tone up her character to keep showing her trying to put her life back in order and get back on track they may actually make her a very good character.
