Sonic Rainboom was easily the worst Rarity episode in the series, Dash became a mere plot device there to solve the conflict at the very and stroke her shallow ego a bit, we see how pathetic and weak she really is, not content with that then later on she became a Mcguffin that ended sparking the entire "Friendship is Magic" plot, performing a legendary feat when she was just a filly, self-insert character and power fantasies arguments aside, I still dislike that moment up to this day for showing how cynical or downright oblivious some people around here can be... Those who critize Twi's talent as a "Mary Sue" when Dash was one ever since S1 and she didn't spent all her childhood getting better but just lazying out due to her natural talent.
I wish was making this up, but this is the reason why it took a hellish S2 for me to merely start accepting Dash as an "okay" character, only above the ever so dull and boring country pony Applejack.
If someone told me this "Sonic Rainboom" is the best thing FiM has to offer, I wouldn't have ended up following like I did and would have stayed with my beloved G3 ponies, specially if someone called such statement an objetive fact! It's a good thing I sticked around to see things and judge them myself.
