>Lets face it, it's gonna get a TV seriesTo this date, all we have is an off-hand reference from some French magazine, or something like that. Nothing else at all has ever suggested a TV series.
I wouldn't start claiming "no other option" just yet.
>Secondly, lets face it there is only so much you can do with stories when you have ponies>A human-esk setting with magic mixed in? That has a lot more chances for different stories and new looks at old stories.um....
wut
People usually say that about EQG. Not FIM. Can you really think of that many stories that *require* the characters to be deformed humans in a cliche high school environment with very little magic/fantasy?
And a completely fresh fantasy world has way, way more "chances for different stories" than a rigid and cliche highschool environment.
>This means a much more 'mature' tone in the storiesUh...judging by the stories we've gotten in the movie, and the general themes and tones, no, EQG is not being marketed towards an older audience, and it sure as hell is not "much more mature" than FIM.
I mean seriously:
FIM: Ancient evil demon-minotaur fucking up an entire kingdom, including its all-powerful rulers, and successfully overthrowing every single inhabitant
EQG: Three teenagers semi-mind-controlling a school of other teenagers during a "battle of the bands".
FIM: Evil overlord enslaving an entire kingdom through fear and oppression, and fucking *explodes and dies* upon being defeated
EQG: Cliche "queen bee bully" character bullying the school and then being reduced to a sobbing wretch and "I didn't know it was wrong to be a manipulative douchebag!" upon being defeated
Yeeaahh..."much more mature" my ass.
--------------
Really, pretty much every single argument you're giving is the opposite of the truth. FIM is the more mature cartoon, not EQG. FIM has more possibilities, not EQG. FIM has the tons of magic and fantasy, not EQG.
You feelin' alright?
