>>36780018Well while the situations are similar, I don't think they're comparable. The fact that DWM is trying to take a blog off a "public space" (insomuch as there are much worse things on tumblr that doesn't bat anyone's eye) and this was the removal of someone from a company, well... they're different situations.
On one hand, JJ's income isn't as directly impacted as Ted's will be. On the other, there's no real authority to take him off. Nobody is going to that blog who doesn't want to be there, and the only ones who could forcibly remove him are the distant lords of the website, who have no reason to single out JJ's blog. As gross as going to someone's boss and talking about them is, there actually is an authority here that has a reason to not want that thing on their site.
Ted was using somebody else's money and good name, IDW's money and reputation, to support his own views in some small way. JJ made his own blog putting forth his own art. The only one who could reasonably take it down is him (or, again, tumblr, but that's just a technicality) and as such a campaign to make him take it down is either a campaign to make him feel like shit and quit or to trash his name. IDW has control over what they choose to publish and they chose not to publish him
without a major campaign of defamation.
