Absolutely love this episode. More proof that Dave Polsky is the best writer in this show. The gags throughout the episode are fantastic, Pinkie's song is great (as per usual), the secondary characters were among the first I legitimately liked, and to top it all off I enjoy how rather than the mane 6 actually solving the problem, they are more just observers of the situation.

Definitely in my top 5 episodes for this show. 10/10

Disagree there. Specifically, that you say that Polsky is the best writer in the show.

I CANNOT disagree more. Polsky episodes are slightly above average at best, but not great in any way shape or form. he's never had a BAD episode, which is really nice; he's dependable. But the best episodes of the show? No, not at all. Doesn't scratch the best.



That being said, Polsky IS the best writer for Pinkie. I feel he's really the only one who truly "gets" pinkie pie. She was easily one of the best parts of this episode: funny, whimsical, with her zaniness still grounded by the others getting annoyed and the song ending up causing the war to happen.

Polsky should write nothing but Pinkie episodes, because at least he doesn't make pinkie a Horrible ADHD retard.



anyways, good episode though, 7/10. I really liked strongheart, and Dash was good in this episode too. That being said, it didn't have the "Oomph" of a great episode, yeah? just kind of flat at times.

I was never a fan of this episode, though even watching it again now I can't recall why. Something about it just feels jarring.

An early confirmation that Pinkie is canon worst pony ever, though.

Pinkie, indeed, did use to be worst pony at the time of this airing. She was easily sixth pony in my view.

The only reason she's no longer sixth is because Twilight decided that being the second or third Pony wasn't working and jumped straight into Shitsville as the new Number 6 pony.





strangely enough though, I actually think pinkie is the number 1 equestria girl.

It was a fine episode.

i didnt had much of a problem at the time...
except for one little thing that bugged me even since day 1 i started watching all the episodes in a row.

The ponies complain about how they need the apples to survive and eat, that is a fair point....
except that they make pies and use them as AMMO.
WTF?
some people like to say it is an alegory for how war just start ussing resourses from people and that is bad.
or something like that.

that is not the point, because it isnt like that hit them back lager or anything.

the appleoosa ponies are a bunch of morons for baking pies to throw at the buffalos.
it would be funny if they killed all the buffalos, and then they see how they at the end have no apples left, and starve to dead.

other people think pinkie pie is retarded in this episode.... not that much, i mean, she at least say nice things in her song. instead of saying "it is good that the buffalos didnt know the appleoosa people think they are retards" and starting a war with that.

How coincidental, I just watched this episode earlier today before even seeing this thread. Granted it was in Japanese, but eh..

I don't remember Breaburn being so active. Buuuut anyways, it was an ok episode; had it's moments, but whenever MLP has a plot revolving around something that actually happened in our history, it's kinda a mood killer. It draws away from potentially awesome Equestrian lore that they could have written about.

Keep our history out of it!
