what is the point of havin so much pony after dark threads?… i now that because of timezones some place is always after dark, but if all threads are after dark isn't the sense a bit beaten?

It's not that there are a lot of pony after dark threads. There's just not any activity outside of PAD.

It used to be that you'd only have one or two threads on the front page at a time as there was enough activity that the old threads would sink to the bottom pretty fast.

These days non pad threads don't get made often and the few that do get almost no attention so they don't keep getting bumped above PAD thus the old threads stay on the front page forever.

The point is clogging up /pony/, clearly. That's all it accomplishes. The threads could be cyclic. Old threads could be deleted or archived. But all we would lose then is having them taking up 85% of the board. So clearly, as these actions have not been taken, this is the intended purpose of p/AD/. You should just post in p/AD/ anyways. There's more people there than the rest of /pony/.
