Moondancer suffered, and it was Twilight and Celestia's fault.
She experiences a legitimate and significant depression for long period of time.
Some viewers think it happened too quickly, or that the impetus wasn't significant to cause such a depression.
But here's the situation: she's a shy, introverted, child. Her best friend suddenly disappears and leaves without a single word, ignoring her party - and never so much says a word to her. Never writes, never reaches out in any way.
Moondancer begins isolating herself. Her trust in opening up and getting close to people is damaged. She develops a fear of abandonment. It was a traumatic event, that party.. It can happen like that. She engrosses herself in work and loses even interest in social life.
And why did Twilight leave? Why was Moondancer left behind?
Because Twilight was the chosen one, the protege. One unicorn get sent to Princess Celestia's School for the gifted to.. literally becoming the Princess of Friendship, and the other is left behind to feel like an afterthought; her best friend dropping her without a second glance for, to Moondancer's perspective, the chance to be a princess. Perhaps Twilight was *right* to focus on her studies, and thus Moondancer follows suit. Both were studious, smart girls.
Twilight goes on to grand adventures, traveling the world, meeting new and amazing people, becoming an immortal royal and famed hero.
Moondancer lives in a dark room and shuts out the world. There was no Princess of the Sun and grand destiny to whisk her off.
She deserved better. Sure, in time, Twilight reconnects with her and Moondancer learns the value of friendship again. But she's still had to live through that sadness and lose that time.

The Cozy Glow Conspiracy So this place is finally going the way of G4, eh? Well, I'm not gonna let it die without at least one last proper canon analysis thread for the so-called "show discussion" board. One last sendoff to the good old days where the show mattered, if anyone remembers that.
So how many of you actually watched up to Season 8? You may remember Cozy Glow, the little filly who almost ended the world, or at least all the magic in it. As consequence, she was sent by the princesses to an indeterminate sentence in Tartarus, Equestria's very own oubliette (n. A place prisoners are sent to be forgotten). Gives new perspective to Twilight's concerns to Fluttershy in season 1 that Celestia might "banish you and then throw you in a dungeon in the place that she banishes you to".
Some viewers thought it was a bit of overkill, concerning that not only is this a literal child being imprisoned, but the characters know full well she was significantly misguided at the time. Seems like the problem could be resolved more neatly with just some remedial community service, keeping her on a short leash and under supervision. She isn't even a unicorn after all, and this is of course assuming that contacting her parents isn't an option (probably relaxing on some distant beach with Sunset's parents, and Starlight's parents, and Tempest's parents, and Moondancer's parents...)
So why the imprisonment? And why that specific improsonment? Remember these ponies are all about giving second chances to those who seem not to deserve them. And as season 9 would make clear, this wasn't a public punishment; Cozy didn't become well known for her attempt to overthrow all of the princesses and become empress of friendship. Just how many ponies DID know about her, and why not more? Well that's what I'm here to answer, and to do that we need to look at things from a different perspective.
The Panmagical Outage was felt across all of Equestria and possibly beyond. It was quite sudden and very devastating, almost no one would have the slightest clue what's happening, and it would feel like the world is coming to an end. One can only imagine ponies and buildings in Las Pegasus seeming to suddenly vanish as they fall through clouds never to be seen again. Even after being resolved, everyone in the entire country would want to know what the hell just happened those past couple days. And from what we see, they really don't seem to be given an answer. Who benefits from keeping this all a secret?
Well, imagine what anyone would think if word got out to the public that at this new, experimental school with no accreditation and no external oversight, run exclusively by Princess Twilight against the direct order of the EEA, a single magicless child used school property, school grounds, and school teachings to cause perhaps the greatest magical cataclysm Equestria has faced? That would be very, very, VERY bad for Twilight. Somehow she would have to get everyone who knows about this, the students and teachers, the princesses and even the head of the EEA, to agree to keep all of this a secret, or her school getting shut down would be the least of her worries.
But that still leaves one loose end. What if they'd been more lenient for Cozy, and give her limited freedom during her rehabilitation? Remember, if they care even a little bit about helping her turn over a new leaf, imprisoning her alone and unsupervised with one of Equestria's most evil villains is perhaps the absolute worst thing they could do. But it's either that, or risk someone talking to her, and finding out what really happened. Twilight couldn't risk that, no matter how cruel she had to be to Cozy. It couldn't have been another princess' idea, Twilight is the only one, the only pony in Equestria, who would have the motive to set up a conspiracy to have a little filly locked away forever. To her, the school and her own reputation were more important than the life of a misguided child, one of her own students led astray.
This is the truth that's been hidden: Twilight personally buried Cozy Glow and doomed her to be forgotten in a hole at the edge of the world. In a world governed by the view that a single big mistake doesn't define who you are, Cozy's mistake was never given a single chance to be rectified. And the world forgot, Twilight too, just as she planned.

Thoughts on Vylet Pony? What are your thoughts on Vylet Pony? In my opinion, she's one of the best musicians ever. I'm not kidding. I love her music so much. Carousel (【Full Album】Carousel (2023) || [Epilepsy Warning]) completely changed the way i look at life. It's such an amazing album, and I recommend listening to it with the lyrics pulled up for each song as you go. Also, make sure to wear headphones. This album is literally one of my autistic hyperfixations right now. I've listened to it at least a dozen times by now. Vylet Pony is also just a really inspirational person overall. She's one of my main inspirations for making music. Some of her music is able to actually make me cry. Not crying from sadness or joy, but crying from the overwhelmingly amazing composition and lyrics. Please listen to Carousel. It's such a good album.

Well hello, DALL-E Over on EQD, Sethisto is having a fit over his inability to distinguish DALL-E 3 images from human artwork (https://www.equestriadaily.com/2023/10/the-huge-struggle-of-pony-posting-in.html). I find DALL-E 2 totally incompetent. See the attached responses to a request for a picture of "Lemuel Gulliver and Princess Luna from My Little Pony drinking milkshakes in a cafe." I don't have access to DALL-E 3, but the contrasting v.2 vs. v.3 specimens on the OpenAI website don't show an overwhelming improvement in the latest version — at least, not to my eyes.
Why is DALL-E such a virtuoso for Sethisto and such a klutz for me? Can anyone out there sort this out? What does DALL-E 3 make of Gulliver and Luna?

Cozy Glow's evil plan is to reform Tirek! She wants to take what she learned about friendship and share it with the worst of society, as a selfless act to make Equestria a better place. Sure she's deluded and probably egomaniacal when she thinks she can succeed where everypony else failed, but if she's trying to get in her pen pal's good graces just to show what a great friend she can be, that explains [i]everything.[/i] She'd commit some terrible crime like sucking all the magic out of Equestria, knowing it was complete lunacy to do so, knowing that she'd get caught and defeated. She'd pretend to be totally unrepentant, and completely unhinged, (and she's really good at pretending to be what she's not), so that ponies would lock her up and throw away the key. She lied when she said she wanted to be the empress of friendship, precisely so she could get locked up with Tirek. That's why she was so triumphant in her cage there. Her goal was never to conquer Equestria, but to become the best friend anypony could possibly be, and how better to do that than to befriend the one creature who has never been a friend to anybody? And now Tirek is at her mercy, and it's only a matter of time until he submits to her friendship. You'll get a trailer in July. So many years have passed that each pony race now has their own version of the mane six story and there is a law that prohibites unicorns, earth ponies and pegasi from going into each other lands. There are three magical gems that provides energy to the ponies. They use this energy to make things work. It's their power source.The villain's supporter is a red unicorn who wants to prevent ponies from getting along. He thinks everyone is better off divided because that way it preserves their unique culture and identity and it won't disappear with 'cultural blending'. He uses technology instead of magic. Sunny is very optimistic and believes in others with ease. She grew up hearing about the original mane six story so she doesn't show intolerance towards other pony races. Sunny also loves roller skating. In one of the musical numbers she even uses her roller skates.Pipp cares too much for her career. She has a lot of fans and uses somekind of social media. She is known as the Princess of Pop but she isn't free to be herself and everyone treats her differently because of her social status and her fragile looking wings. When Pipp meets Sunny and finds out that she is traveling around Equestria with Izzy and Hitch, she sees an opportunity to be free from her royal duties and her overprotective parents. Pipp has a flying pomeranian as a pet.Hitch is one of the ponies responsible for protecting the earth pony lands. He is playful and clumsy but he has a big heart and likes to help ponies. He is also very strong even if he doesn't realize it. He is very devoted to his duty as a sheriff, but he starts to question the town laws. He realizes that Izzy isn't as bad as other earth ponies say she is. Zipp's personality is similar to Rainbow's though she is not as self-centered as Dash. She doesn't like being a princess and hates wearing her crown. Izzy is really naive and resembles Pinkie Pie a bit. However she is interested in sewing and lives in the forest alongside her insects and other animal friends. You've probably seen her house already. Izzy didn't get along with the other unicorns - plus they thought she was weird - so she decided to live alone in the forest. She goes to Maretime Bay trying to find something special to give a final touch to one of her creations. The guards don't stop her from get in 'cause they are afraid of her due to all the theories surrounding unicorns such as 'mindcontrolling powers'.

This board seems to be the number one board that receives bot spam. Recently, a /site/ thread (rather than a report) was made to inform the mod team that there was CP bot spam on this board for 2 days that no one reported, and this isn't the first time this has happened (including us finding that you guys have replied to the thread without reporting it when we do find it).We do our best to scan the boards from time to time, but boards, especially slow boards, need to have their users using the report function to inform the mod team when there is a problem, especially a problem that involves content such as that. If you need to know how to make a report, I've included a graphic showing you how. Tic the checkbox at the upper right hand corner of the post, next to the name of the poster, then scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find the report function in the bottom right hand corner of the page. We will try to check this board more often, but if the users here can not be counted on to help us out in this manor, we will need to have a conversation about the future of this board.

As Ponychan devolves into PeeChan and follows /oat/ down into a cesspool of arguments over posters' favorite bands, snacks, alcoholic beverages, and projectile weapons, /pony/ is going to be the only thing left on this site that has anything much to do with MLP. Standing here on the boundary between G4 and G5, we have an opportunity to talk about what made G4 so great at the beginning — and why, as most of the remaining posters to /pony/ seem to feel, it lost a lot of its charm and magic after the first few seasons.I think the big problem was a failure of imagination. Instead of developing and making deeper the characters and the world that Lauren Faust laid down at the beginning, the showrunners could think of nothing better to do than to pile in a succession of new and increasingly indistinguishable villains and species and a continual flood of new gimmicks -- from go-karts, Indian cuisine, and feuding hillbillies, to the tediously unimaginative environment of the School for Friendship. Will the creators of G5 learn anything from the failures of G4? What, above all, do they need to avoid?

So long, Ponychan. It's been a great ten years. Pee Chan starts tomorrow, and the only vestige of bronydom left on this site will be what remains of /pony/. On this last night of Ponychan, let's remember how much excitement and fun and energy crackled across this site when the pony phenom was at its peak. Maybe G5 will bring some of that back. We'll see what the future brings. But for tonight, as the sun goes down on Ponychan for the last time, let's remember the past.

If we were back in 2011-2012 and I was Orange I would have made an event where /rp/ /ep/isode /fan/fic and /pony or /show/ meet together to exchange ideas.I would humiliate the 30 something tripfags here that made /pony/ their home base and think they're hot shit for absolutely nothing. You retards think you have genuine writing talent/analysis skills or some shit, you need a wakeup call to reality. So after criticizing you with the help of /fan/fic I'd permanently ban your range IPs from /show/ and I'd either relegate you to /fan/ and /rp/ to learn to write properly(the optimistic choice) or I'd also ban you from /fan/ and /rp/ and just keep you on the rest of the boards to do what you want because you're a lost cause./show/ I mean /pony/ needs to be a premium board that shouldn't had even been available during summer and the hiatuses. /show/ should had been a board you need to prove yourself on /fan/fic in order to talk on it. I also would have made /show/ its own youtube channel where you talk about storytelling in general.Sadly Orange didn't give a shit about quality and evolving beyond, all he gave a fuck about was farming your data with CIA-tier software and selling it. How are bronies so weak and why are we not rallyin together in this world that is in a crisis state to bring an age of harmony?Well that was a thing right? the entire last decade? and now look where we are. We all spent all of our time sitting on our dead asses, parading around at cons, and trying to find if there's any meaning to life at all as our friends died and we let the simpsons predictions come true. If you went to sleep in 2010 and woke up today you'd be like what the hell happened? where did the world go? and in a blink of an eye, like lightning, bronies struck and were here, and now there gone.But I believe that a lightning strike is just a precursor to what comes after it. The fire. the inferno. the pyre. Not a fire that burns the world and leaves it ravaged and ruined, but one that purifies it. Bronies are the ones who aught to lead this world with Love and tolerance, with values of harmony, and actually standing behind what being an honest fan of the show is. Not this demonstrable porn culture we have deleved into. Maybe the reason aliens and ponies and stuff don't come meet us is we try to have sex with all the weird things we meet. So-- I watched the new movie. Like I said in another thread, it's an okay children's movie. But the magic has gone out of Equestria in G5: literally as part of the plot, and figuratively as a deficiency in the world and the story.What's the problem? I think the problem is that the mythic glow that pervaded Faust's pony world from S1E1 on isn't built into the fabric of the G5 world.Faust's long experience with articulating and trying to sell [i]Galaxy Girls[/i] had primed her for setting up a world based on roles and archetypes. The G4 Equestria was— originally, at least — a mythological kingdom ruled over by immortal superbeings who controlled the sun, moon, and stars: an unambiguously good and benevolent goddess of light and order and a somewhat ambivalent and scary goddess of darkness and the subconscious realm of dreams. Pony society was divided into the three primordial castes of Indo-European society and myth: the magic-wielding priest-shamans (Brahmans), the winged warriors, and the muddy peasants. The central characters, the Mane Six, were (like the Galaxy Girls) conceived as representatives of polar-opposite character types: feminine/masculine (Rarity/RD), extrovert/introvert (Pinkie/Twi), chaotic/ordered (ditto), spiritual/material (ditto), mind/body (Twi/RD), nature/culture (Fluttershy/Rarity), city/country (Rarity/AJ) -- and so on and on. It was no wonder that in the early days, when these marvelously conceived and balanced characters and their myth-haunted world first burst onto the internet, people were posting memes representing them as every set of mythic stereotypes and Jungian archetypes from the Seven Deadly Sins to the four Galenic humors (pic).G5 isn't like that. It's just America (or maybe three Americas) with talking horses. The unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies all have separate Bantustans, so they don't map onto different social roles. They all live on the ground in modern cities with electricity and LED signs: there's no myth-tinged Greco-Roman Cloudsdale in this Equestria. Their technology is boringly identical with our own. (Inexplicably, it doesn't depend on unicorn magic; somehow these hoofed animals are able to assemble microelectronics and punch the buttons on cell phones without any fingers.) The characters all look pretty much the same and speak with identical accents and dialects. They represent sitcom characters, not archetypes. The result is a world devoid of mythic force and fantasy.So that's the problem. Right out of the gate, these horses are running a different horserace, involving minimally differentiated characters in a world like our own, devoid of the numinous and with no central role for magic, or myth, or free fantasy. Can they pick things up and generate some magical voltage in the post-movie show episodes? We'll see.

I decided to go back and rewatch Season 7, the last season of MLP: FiM that made it to DVD. I was not pleased with what I found. Episode after episode struck me as flat, uninspired, moralizing, and occasionally embarrassing kiddie fare. I began to think: How could I have fallen in love with this show? How much better the occasional pleasures of the G5 movie are!
And then I hit "Parental Glideance," and found myself chuckling, cheering, and grinning like the proverbial skunk all the way through, from the four-minute mark onward.
How wonderful G4 was at its best! And what a miracle it was that the successive teams of show makers were able to hit that best, at least occasionally, after all those years.
Anybody else have any thoughts on revisiting old episodes?

I have lifted the attached image from EQD. It's supposed to be Fluttershy, done in G5 style. I think this ought to make clear one of the big differences between 2D and 3D: you have to be more realistic in 3D, and so characters and objects can't be simple and iconic. They have to have depth and texture and spatial location. As a result, they are less -- well, calligraphic: less near the "meaning" pole of Scott McCloud's ternary diagram (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Magnus-Haake/publication/324597044/figure/fig33/AS:631573850382349@1527590348158/An-edited-reproduction-of-the-design-space-of-visual-iconography-The-Big-Triangle.png), and much, much closer to the "Reality" pole. This makes them harder to read at a glance. It takes study to distinguish this G5 reading of Fluttershy from the other G5 pony characters; but the G4 Fluttershy is recognized in a heartbeat. I've been gone a very long time. I stopped watching the show at the end of season 3. Tried to watch Equestria Girls but it was just too much for me. Recently that new gen 4.5 movie came out and I'm GUESSING there's been a bit of a resurgence in brony culture?
How have you all been doing? I've seen you. Here and there. Lurking around, being visible. Pony avatars in all the usual places, on Steam profiles... even one of the HackTheBox admins. All I can do is say I commend bronies for being 100% indefatigable and proving to everyone who might have hated or said it was "weird" that this isn't a phase and this community is here to stay.

One of the minor pleasures of G4 MLP was all the horsy gags, puns, and references. A currency measured in bits. Twilight putting on a saddle to go out in "Winter Wrap-Up." The CMC playing a checkers-like game with tiny horseshoes. Typewriters with two keys. RD's oath "Horseapples!" in "Fall Weather Friends." And of course, all the geography — Manehattan, Fillydelphia, Las Pegasus, Canterlot, Neighagara Falls, and so on.
Others can probably think of a lot of other G4 examples. But there doesn't seem to be a lot of this in G5. "Maretime Bay" is good, and "Bridlewood" and "Canterlogic" are okay, I guess. This seems like an aspect of a generally less playful approach to the world and the material. Or am I missing something?

Since the G5 movie just came out, all theories for the movie are answered. But I have some unanswered questions that might be answered in the special or the series.
The unsolved mysteries of G5 MLP:
What happened to the Crystal Empire?
What happened to Cloudsdale, Ponyville and Canterlot which are home to each ponykind?
What happened to other creatures and where are they now?
Where is the portal to the Human World (I don't really want to the series to show it, just answers from others. I don't really want to see cursed humans since Equestria Girls has perfect human design and since I don't want to see the results of G5 humans, I don't want to see it to happen in G5)
Why are the royals are kinda celebrities?
Unlike our world, Oz is said to be an uncivilized country that lies upon enchanted grounds. One could even say that Oz is in another dimension held at the very center of the Pietro's Outer Zone But The New Universe Has Not Yet Arrived And A Portal Has Not Yet Arrived Either On The Plus-Side However Once A Gateway Device To The Worlds In The New Universe Gets Built Invented And Opened Up A New Universe Will Appear But That Will Most Likely Have To Happen In Between The Years 2027 & 2031

In the new comic series, G5 ponies are exploring what appears to be the dusty ruins of Canterlot, prompting someone named Ian to post the following on EQD:
This comic is essentially telling us that G5 is going to stop pretending to care about honoring its predecessor and tell us that Twilight and her friends utterly failed in their quest to create a better Equestria, that everything they and their friends fought so hard for was ultimately for nothing, and that all the characters we know and love probably lived out their days knowing they were losers and failures.

I've been going around for days with Don McLean's "American Pie" running through my head. Tonight I said to myself, "I wonder if that song was ever ponified when the MLP thing was at its peak?" I went to YouTube to look. Sure enough, there it was, dated 2014. Then I asked the same question about Billy Joel's "Piano Man" -- and yes, there was a pony version of that, also from 2014. "Old Town Road" by Li'lNasX? Two pony versions, both from 2019. And so on and on.
There are thousands of these pasteups, every one testifying to the amazing surge of love and attention and fellowship and artistry that characterized the pony phenomenon at its peak. There has been nothing like it in other fan communities.
I think maybe the huge sweep of ponified videos left on YouTube, that mark the high tide of MLP like the arc of bottles and shells and seaweed marking the high-tide line at the beach, will be what keeps the MLP fandom alive in the consciousness of future generations.

Looking at the new trailer today (My Little Pony: Make Your Mark | Official Trailer | Netflix After School), I caught on to one of the things that makes G5 so vapid and flavorless (for me, anyway) — the sameness of the voices. Start up a G4 episode and close your eyes: you have no trouble at all telling which of the main characters is talking. Pinkie's warbling soprano screech, FS's apologetic murmur, AJ's Texas drawl, Rarity's silken Atlantic gurgle, RD's nasal alto bark — they're all as distinctive and different as the characters they were designed for. But the G5 characters look, sound, and act much less distinctively. Just about the only way I can tell them apart is when one of them has a tennis ball on her horn.

So me and Clarity had this debate.
We both agreed that the events of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is both canon and history in My Little Pony: A New Generations.
Thing is, at one point, all of Equestria was populated with ponies up until Opaline caused a division amongst the pony-kind that divided them once again into pony tribes. Now most of Equestria appears to be nothing but countryside save for three settlements for each pony kind. How can Equestria once be populated by hundreds of millions of ponies is now reduce to a few thousands in specific areas?
Let's say, hypothetically, that Equestria was the size of America which has the rough population of 332,403,650 and if it was divided into four. Three for each three kinds of ponies and a fourth for "other" (griffins, changelings etc) then you'd still have 83100912.5 American ponies.
Are you telling a small coastal town had a population of 83100912.5 Earth Ponies? It doesn't look like it. Coastal towns have around one and a half thousand in number of residents and Maritime Bay is believed to be the only home to all Earth Ponies in all of Equestria.
Bridlewood is regarded as a hamlet for the Unicorn population. Because it's in a forest surrounded by trees it's kind of hard to say for sure the exact number of Unicorns there.
Given Zephyr Heights is surrounded by clouds with obscure what appears to be a grand metropolis, I can sorta buy most of the pegasi population living there.
But other that that, the rest of Equestria between these three settlements appear to be mostly countryside.
So way I figure, Opaline must have started rumours and fights which triggered a series of event which caused some sort of near-genocidal catastrophe, leaving just enough few thousand ponies left to settle in their own settlements.
I suggested to Clarity this catastrophe was a racism war between the Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi that lead to an incredibly large death-toll. But to me it makes sense something of the like had happened because at the start of A New Generation the Earth Ponies don't have a general distrust of other pony kinds, they downright fear them!
Imagine unicorns using new kinds of magic or the pegasi using the weather in creative ways to mass kill other ponies on the field of battle, how terrifying fr an Earth Pony to see lightning strike and kill others or unicorns using spells to manipulate and control others. It's these kind of horrors of war that could be passed down through the descendants of those war ponies that serve as the foundation of feat during Sunny's time.
The war between these three ponies must had been so devastating that if these ponies did not loose their magic soon then they would of wiped each other out entirely. Magic was lost when the 300mil ponies were killed off the a few thousand ponies. I like to believe the surviving ponies returned to the original homelands of their ancestors as told in the Hearthswarming founding story and founded Maritime Bay, Zephyr Heights and Bridlewoods but the horrors of war of what their enemies could do were passed down with details being changed or forgotten which continued the fear of other tribes. All the while the rest of Equestria was abandoned and nature reclaimed it.
At least, that's my theory on how Opaline started a war that nearly drove all ponies to extinction. But I doubt Hasbro would confirm it if I am right.
TL;DR, Fallout: Equestria might as well be the mid-qual between MLP:FiM and MLP:ANG.

In G4, the Christmas-substitute was all about community and togetherness (The Heart Carol - My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Season 2). It was called "Hearthswarming."

Some info up on Equestria Daily today about the content for next year. As seen in the image, we're getting MYM Chapters 3 and 4, two more specials and 45 more TYT. Enough new pony for the whole year. Sorry haters, but the G5 train is rolling forward yet.

Finally got around to the Christmas Special, or as Netflix calls it, Chapter 3: Episode 1. Production values seem on point for what we saw in Chapter 2. No great improvements, but let's give it a watch a share our thoughts.
Very start and I can already tell all the music will have a festive feel (aka suck) but that's to be expected. We start out with Hitch and Sparky heading through Mareitime Bay to the Brighthouse to a festive song. Everypony is getting ready for whatever this holiday is. Wishday or something? Izzy is going through boxes in the basement. Zipp has apparently forgotten how to sing despite having performed in the past. I think she might have been replaced by a Changeling, but more on that in a sec.
So Sunny can't wait to hang out with everyone, but uh oh, no one has time for Sunny. Everyone has their own plans she was unaware of, even though she's known Hitch from foalhood and two of her other friends are literally practicing for their thing two feet away from her. Sunny channels her inner Twilight though and decides to try to schedule everything into one day. How ever will they travel between Zephyr Heights and Bridlewood in time?
Enter the Marestream. This is the bus thing Izzy and Zipp built in Tell Your Tale a week ago. Good to see the timing lining up. I knew this thing was here to stay. It's turned back into a hunk of junk though, but luckily the Brightlantern is nearby. Oddly though, Zipp seems to have no memory of it transforming before, acting amazed once she's inside, hence my Zipp is a Changeling now theory. They discuss how there are six seats and only five of them, briefly giving me some hope they'll include Misty and let her have a little joy in her life, but that's quickly dashed by Izzy filling the seat with Senor Butterscotch.
First stop will be Hitch's grandmare, but before we get there it's time for another song. Everyone knows a different version of the song though, uh no! Pipp says they should all sing the melody and alternate verses, to which they agree and sing one verse total. That's it. Think we're animating more than that? Good fucking luck. This part of the script probably should have been changed. They literally go "Let's sing all the verses" then sing one verse and it's Pipp, the Pegasus, singing the Earth Pony verse, which she just said she didn't know. Then Zipp almost runs two fillies over with her new bus and proceeds to tell those stupid Pegasuses off for being in the sky. Good for her.
The Marestream has folding wings! Buy it!
So we arrive at Grandmare's house and Hitch is surprised there are trees now. Earth pony magic, I guess? He gives everyone a speech about his Grandmare and how she's 108 years old and thinks it's still 1952 or something (he actually just says she likes things a certain way.) Granny seems nice. Turns out Hitch is the stick in the mud, not her. The fact it has never snowed in town before is mentioned for a third time, so I guess it's important. Zipp begins investigating. They make some nice gingerbread houses and leave. Zipp steals a book. The snow gets some sinister music.
Bridlewood will be next, but they're running behind. Sunny starts to worry. Zipp contemplates reading that book she stole while she drives. There's a lot of snow now. Izzy presents everyone with a scarf she made. What a nice filly. She spots Alphabittle though and starts wasting time with him. Alphabittle wins a game and takes Izzy's special ornament but it's cool, she made two apparently. The poetry pony (Onyx) is back and wastes more of their time. They eventually carry Izzy back to the Marestream.
Zipp is panicking about the schedule and driving recklessly. She also can't see because of the blizzard. Izzy's weird magic does, something, to the Marestream and they make it alive. Zipp and Pipp break off to see their mom, but give the others tickets to their show. The girls proceed to hurry their mom through their day. The others steal some empty boxes and make the guards lie to them about how air is a traditional gift. Queen Haven drops the bomb that this year the show is twice as long, so tough luck Sunny, you not gonna have time to, uhm, go home or whatever it is you wanted to do. Pegasuses sing. Everyone falls asleep.
The snow is now a full blizzard and the Marestream is buried in snow. Snow that I just noticed ponies don't leave hoofprints in. Izzy makes a wish to find the Marestream and the lantern grants it. Finding their car is deemed a miracle. Zipp figures out the Unicorns are behind all the snow. Evil unicorns. They fly back to Bridlewood and exterminate them, er, I mean, tell them to stop. The Unicorns switch to causing global warming instead.
They make it home in time, so I guess Sunny can't plan a schedule; everything was fine enough. Nopony bothered to get gifts for anypony, except Sunny, who made a lightshow. Izzy remembers she did get everyone something (despite giving them all a scarf earlier) and gives them more empty boxes. The end.
All in all, very skippable. If you've read all this, I've covered everything. No lore, no stand out songs, no Ovaltine, no Misty. Really, this added nothing. I feel like I'm the one who just received an empty box.

Why am I sexually attracted to horses?There was a point were I detested the thought of fucking a cartoon horse, but one day back in 2012 I suddenly got into it and it stuck with me ever since. It's been a while since I watched FIM, but one thing's been bothering me slightly. While G4 Spike was generally treated well, he was often knocked around for comic relief and unconsciously mistreated by the main cast. Over time, the fandom took notice, and while it's still not talked about too much, it still is a thing that happened. As someone who relates to some of his aspects (Sidekick energy, maintaining a decent self-image despite being stepped on constantly, being friends with people much better/more talented who don't always appreciate him, simping for someone who wasn't always the nicest to him and being okay with the mistreatment), has there been any point in the show or other official works where he expressed any type of frustration with the way he's been treated? If not, are there some fan works you can point me to?

A map of G5 Equestria has been posted (https://www.equestriadaily.com/2023/07/a-map-of-g5-equestria-has-been-found.html#more). It does not match any part of the definitive post-movie G4 coastlines (attached pic). The closest match is the coast around G4 Manehattan-- but the G5 equivalent is rotated 90 degrees.Continental drift? Ice ages or epic pony wars carving new landscapes? Migration of the poles? Or migration to a different planet?
