Why green? Because I thought purple for a monochrome Twilight picture would’ve been a boring colour choice.

Sometimes I start with gesture, sometimes I don't. I always do things differently(and never know what I'm doing).
I really don't know how long I actually spent on it because I kept getting distracted by youtube, facebook and tumblr, it took way longer than it should because of that, a few hours.
I used hypercam for the capture and vegas to edit and render it. Made the music in Cubase 5 with Omnisphere and Reason.

I used some paper texture I've had for a long time, I just desaturate it and set it to multiply on a layer on top of the drawing.
I've used it on a lot of pictures, actually, I worry someone might notice it's the same every time, but I really like it :v

I enjoy painting a whole lot more than doing linework.

But a lot of the time I don't find any motivation, if I depended solely on motivation I probably wouldn't draw that much; and would definitely be unable to do any commission work. To quote a friend "motivation [is] an unreliable little dickfuck."

Another thing is that if I don't draw for a few days I start getting really depressed, so I try to do stuff as regularly as I can. Doing studies is a great way to do stuff even if I'm not motivated, or have no ideas about what to draw.

The cool part is that after you start you kinda want to keep going even if at first you weren't feeling like it. At least that's how it is for me a lot of the time.
And even if it doesn't work that way, at least you did something(even if you didn't finish it) so you at least got some practice.

See, I do commissions to earn money, because I need money, but the money doesn't really motivate me at all, that's why I didn't mention it.

I've actually heard other artists/musicians say that when they don't draw/play they are "in pain" and I think this is what they mean, so I'm not alone.
