Think of plots that you can/ would want see in a a future episode. (And I mean plot in the original word, the episode's story)

Celestia is away and gives her best student, Twilight, the responsibility to temporarily raise the Sun. But with Luna, you know... existing, this probably has a lot of plot holes. Click on the pic for my response.

I want to see an episode where one of the three Cutie Mark Crusaders gets her cutie mark before the rest of them, and they break up and go through trials without each other, only to realize that they were happier together and that they were friends for more reasons than just the quest for the cutie mark. An episode about keeping good friends and knowing their true worth even if superficial reasons to separate from them present themselves.

I have to agree that the Progress series really presents Luna in a light I rather enjoy. (At least when it's not shipping or focusing on OC.) The idea of Luna being powerful but rather shy and awkward for being 1000 years behind the times is a good one, sets up some the potential for some excellent antics.

I don't expect the developers to necessarily do their licenses in accordance to fanon. Really, this is their baby, I think they've got the right to do it otherwise, and from what I understand a plot of those early scripts were set in stone long before the Progress series was released.

Still, it would be cool if they could, say, insert an abacus among Luna's personal belongings as a subtle nod to Progress, or perhaps have Ditzy "Derpy Hooves" Doo having a tender exchange with a certain similar colored filly unicorn in the background.

As they move into the animation phase, I could see those subtle touches as being easy enough for them to do without exactly acknowledging fanon is canon.

For some reason or another (possibly some joint trolling effort on the part of Luna and Celestia) Prince Blueblood has to rule Equestria for a week, and is left in charge of raising the sun AND moon.

Needless to say, he either slacks off of his duties, screws everything up out of sheer ineptitude, or cracks under the pressure, and the mane cast has to do something.

She slowly starts to give up on her dream and neglects her training, becoming a lazy, unmotivated fatass. Eventually, it's up to the mane cast to help her get her ambition and spirit back.

Either Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie get hooked on Espresso (or some other caffeinated drink).

Though the effects are positive at first (Rainbow Dash is faster and more agile, and Pinkie is even more energetic than normal), they become addicted to the drink. It starts to have adverse effects on them as well, with Pinkie becoming angry and irritable without the brew, and Dash being simply unable to fly or function without a shot of the stuff in the morning.

The end result is them having to break their addiction, either through an intervention by the mane cast, or they both resolve to kick their habit together.

I came up with this idea a couple weeks ago...

Rainbow Dash is invited to a movie party, and is eager to go. However, she is horrified to learn that the movie in question is not going to be an action packed ragefest or a hilarious comedy. Nope, it's going to be a SAD MOVIE. This would be all fine and dandy except for one thing: Dash always cries during sad movies.

And by cry, I don't mean a few sniffles. I mean 'turn on the waterworks and break out the Kleenex' baww-storm.

Desperate to maintain her image as the 'tough one' and not embarrass herself in front of her friends, she tries excuses, tricks, and deception to ensure her secret stays secret.

If not specifically this, then basically an episode where Rainbow Dash has something embarrassing to hide from her friends.

A new pegasus pony comes to Ponyville, and is acctually a better and faster flyer than Rainbow Dash. Naturally, Rainbow sees this new pegasus pony as a rival and a showoff, and constantly tries to overshadow the newcomer to no avail (without the newcomer noticing or caring very much)

It gets even worse for Rainbow when the newcomer even manages to draw the attention of the Wonderbolts, which infuriates Rainbow even more. In the end, it will appear that the newcomer is not at all interested in joining the Wonderbolts, and instead insist that they turn their attention to Rainbow. Explanation being that the newcomer is not that interested in flying, it only comes as a natural talent for him/her, and he/she wouldn't be happy living a life as a Wonderbolt. He/she did however see how hard Rainbow worked on her flying skills and how much she loved flying and how good she was at it.

Rainbow excuse herself for her behaviour to the newcomer, and they both end up good friends before the newcomer leaves Ponyville. Rainbow Dash learns the valuable friendship-lesson of respect for ponies she doesn't know, and that it's better to embrace friendship among those who share talents and/or interests rather than try to overshadow them.

She gets there and business is booming for her, but she realizes she barley ever gets to see her friends anymore. They are sending her letters every week and she realizes that those letters are really the only joy she truly possesses in life anymore. End of episode is her friends talking about how much they miss her or something and suddenly, down the road comes the procession of movers bringing all her stuff back to town (insert Derpy cameo here for you Derpy fanatics). Aunt and Uncle Orange stop by for a visit, and the Ponyville residents are called upon by Applejack to make Ponyville spruced up to accomodate them.

Pinkie Pie's father comes to Ponyville, and tries to talk her to coming back to the rock farm to live with them.

A new earth pony arrives in town, and she's selling apples. Really well, and Applejack begins to feel inferior. (Maybe the resolution involves the two working together as partnered businesses?)

Just a few ideas.

Ideally, within season 2 the general plot relevances I'd like to see are...

- More trips to places like Appleloosa, Canterlot and Cloudsdale. Keep them relevant and recurring to really flesh out that they are a place in this magical world.

- I've said it before and I'll say it again. MUSICAL EPISODE.

- Someone mentioned a bullying one, I'd love to see that. What better message to older and younger viewers alike on the experience of it and how to prevent it? Perhaps it be one of the CMC be suffering it? I'd love to see Scoots try to get Dash to help her build confidence to stand up to them.

- Pet centric episode. Spike having to lead Angel, Gummy, Winoya, Owlucious and Opalesence through danger.

It would start off nice enough, but then the two groups of friends would start to get on each others nerves. The ending moral would be putting aside your differences, or working together to meet new friends, or whatever.

But then again, I'm not even sure if Twilight HAS any friends in Canterlot...

The episode would focus on some sort of pony equivalent to Halloween, like "Nightmare Moon's Eve" or something similar. Twilight would explain all of the traditions in her egghead fashion, and then the ponies dress up for Nightmare Moon Eve. As a subtle easter egg for the bronys, Fluttershy is a tree and Scootaloo is a chicken. The ponies go from house to house and gain teh candiez. They also meet some background characters, both getting candy and giving out candy. However, they soon realize that they're lost, and in the Everfree Forest! Twilight says that there's no need to be afraid as ghosts aren't real. But suddenly, ghosts aaahhhhhhhhhh! The ponies begin to sprint towards the outside of the forest, and make it out just fine. They soon realize that the "ghosts" were only white birds or something like that. The ponies then gather on a big stage and sing an epic 3 minute song featuring the entire mane six.
Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned friendship. I can't think of what she learned XP

Trixie's traveling stage show ends up going kaput because all of the ponies around Equestria have herd that the Great and Powerful Trixie couldn't stop a 'baby bear'. Needing to 'up the ante' on her magical talents and prove herself to everypony, Trixie obtains a cursed amulet from the recurring force of evil in season 2 that gives her extraordinary powers. She uses the powers to go all around Equestria; instead of performing magic shows, she puts on 'talent competitions', challenging her audience to best her in anything. The amulet helps her win every challenge by amplifying her powers immensely.

Confident in her new skills, she returns to Ponyville for an encore show... and to settle a score with Twilight. Her cheating backfires; the cursed amulet starts doing something horrible obscures Cutie Marks, making ponies inept at their special talents. Terrified of the power, Trixie is unable to stop stealing her audience's powers. She shows signs of sincerely wanting to help reverse the spell. Twilight identifies the amulet and the cure; the only way to break the amulet's curse is to have a pony best her in a talent competition.

The mane 6 all nobly try to best Trixie. Despite Trixie's best efforts to lose against the ponies and break the curse, the amulet forces her to epically win every challenge. It all comes down to Fluttershy, who is able to express her genuine kindness far better than the embittered power behind the amulet. This breaks the curse on Ponyville. Trixie sincerely apologizes and returns to normal magic shows, though now she's much nicer to everypony and extremely thankful towards the mane six.

Lesson has something to do with giving ponies (read: people) a second chance. During the episode, the audience is made to feel sympathetic toward Trixie through commonality. She got in over her head and needed help; something everypony can relate to.

Also, an action packed Fluttershy-centric episode would be great.

i would really like to see a good Applejack-oriented episode, because she is the most under appreciated character in the show. she deserves a boost, and not "applejack has to work so hard that she looks like she's high" kind of applejack themed episode, but more of how awesome she is. maybe big up on her positive personality traits or something. i dunno.

The mane cast take a relaxing vacation to Zecora's house in Everfree forest while she's away doing something. It starts out fine, until Dash finds a recording of Zecora translating passages from the Necronomicon, "book of the dead". The recording awakes something in the forest-something evil.
Long story short, Dash cuts off one of her wings and replaces it with a chainsaw, and everypony else turns into deadites.

If it's a non-recurring character in one episode, Twilight and co., or maybe the CMC, will learn to be friendly to new people. Add some moral about making friends, and that's all.

It it's a non-recurring character in some extended episode, or perhaps an advanced movie, he or she could be ostracized by the town, and a villain would prey on that loneliness as a weapon against the Elements of Harmony. What better tool to kill Friendship than one who feels abandoned by it? Jealousy and dejection are powerful forces for those who know how to use them properly.

If it's a regular episode, and its a reoccurring character, it's a new Cutie Mark Crusader, and the gang will help he or she open up and join the group, perhaps open an element to the group we haven't had before. The moral at the end about making new friends could still apply.

Since the whole "This task is really hard I need help" thing has been covered already, and is overused in childrens media as it is, for some reason I think that the theme of this episode would be that Celestia couldn't quite trust Luna with such an ability yet, as it is introduced as such an important ability that most ponies would be overcome by "I have so much power!" syndrome and try to use it against others. So when Twilight gets it she gets really uppity and threatens not to raise the sun if others don't do certain things.

That has plot holes too, of course, and is slightly stupid, but is just a thought.

I also second that there should be an episode where something happens to stop Spike fawning over Rarity for good. It's a fun running gag but there's also a good potential lesson to be learned there.

Spike as assistant-for-a-day would be a great vehicle to reveal the inner workings of the ponies' professions. Imagine the setup -- Twilight and Rarity both have business in Canterlot, so they decide to go together for a few days, and Twilight arranges for Spike to spend each day helping out a different one of her friends so he doesn't get lonely.

We've seen all the ponies at work, but not the planning and background and logistics that must go into their jobs... which is exactly what Spike would be best at. (Rarity is conveniently absent so as not to steal too much of Spike's attention, and because we've already had a lot of episodes that explore her clothing business and her relationship to Spike.)

This setup would need a bit more oomph to make a proper episode (*cough* where's the conflict *cough*) but I think it has potential.

I wouldn't mind a Dash-centric view of the two of them hanging out (Griffon the Brush Off starred Pinkie Pie) and being themselves. Maybe even a flashback to Junior Speedsters' or something.

I like the idea of Trixie being Luna's personal student, and I think I have a good backstory to go with it.
Trixie's ancestors were close to Luna, one or more of them having been her personal students themselves.(Trixie's cutie mark containing the moon could be representative of this.) This became part of their family history that they passed down through the generations. Trixie was told about it, and was told that she could have been an apprentice of Luna, had it not been for the Nightmare Moon incident.
Instead of getting heavily discouraged by this, she had the opposite reaction, telling herself that it was her duty to become great and powerful herself. Practice and self-ego-boosting from then on produced the Trixie that we have seen. But, Luna could emerge again, and offer to continue on the tradition and take Luna under her wing. The previously humbled Luna would accept.

* Popular supporting and background characters from Season 1 (Luna, Trixie, Derpy) get second appearances

* Modest nods to the fanon. (E.g. Pinkie Pie says "cupcakes!" again, Derpy is shown making a delivery, Trixie focuses on Twilight in her next run-in with the ponies, all very tame stuff that is sure to be enough to keep fans smiling stupidly large grins for weeks on end)

* Other things which, like the above, have already been put forward by the fans.

Want to see:
* one of the Cutie Mark Crusaders getting their mark but not the other two. This idea has been mentioned previously and I very much agree that it would be both entertaining and fit with the value the producers place on moralistic storytelling. It makes perfect sense that, at the end of the episode, the CMCs are better friends than ever and they make it their slightly-restated goal to crusade for their Cutie Marks all the way until the last of the three gets them (whereas the ambiguously-stated goal at present is that "they" are crusading for "their [own?]" marks).

* Twilight doesn't realize that her incredibly rare high level of magical talent is a direct consequence of her actually being a latent alicorn who has yet to fully blossom. In some later season her wings emerge. So sue me for xtreme fanboy thought. I'd really love to see this happen even though I know it never will. No real moral to be learned from such a development either, so that's probably another strike against it. *sigh*

* Spike gradually grows up. Season 2 or 3 has him be like halfway-grown-up, Season 3 or 4+ has him grown up.

* The ponies travel to the Land of the Dragons. This land has been alluded to briefly in one or two episodes but it'd be great to actually go there. (See above bullet point for their ideal mode of transportation to that land. Like that'll happen ...)

* Introduce a guy friend for the ponies. NOT a romantic interest. NOT a big brother character à la Big Macintosh. More like a Zecora-type character. He's a guy who shows up two or three times throughout the season to help the ponies out, once in a big way (his debut episode) and the several other times in small ways (his cameo episodes). Have enjoyed the show but HOT DAMN is it sexist against the guys. Very few good role model ponies for men. Snips and Snails are aggravating in every sense (ugly, stupid, shallow, unimpressive, seemingly talentless), Big Macintosh is the hollowest Big Brother archetype I've ever seen, Rainbow Dash's detractors are stereotypical punk losers who aren't going to amount to anything ever, and the others are just man-meat to till the fields or pull carriages. If you've ever seen Magic Knight Rayearth, think Ferio MINUS the romance angle. The only dude so far who I think has been an even halfway decent role model for the bro bronies in the audience as been Spike, but Spike still leaves a bit to be desired. Sadly, I don't see this bullet happening.

The final episode ever and it's all about growing up. Twilight's studies are complete and it's time for to leave Ponyville and take her place next to Celestia, but she doesn't want to leave her friends behind. They're all convinced that this is the way it has to be, though, the excuse that they're all growing up and need to do what they need to do keeps cropping up as she visits them all to say goodbye.

The chariot to take Twilight away is waiting in the main street, with Celestia in it. Twilight is very sad, and only carrying a small bag. Celestia says, as she did before, "Why so glum, my faithful student?". Twilight says that she loves all her friends, and leaving them behind is hard. Just then, we hear Rarity off-screen saying "Well, there's only one thing to do, then." Twilight spins around, the other 5 are there, and they're all packed! Twilight doesn't know what to say except "wat". Pinkie giggles. "Oh silly, we're coming along with you, obviously!" Twilight turns and looks at the Princess, who laughs and nods. They hug, something the other five jump in on in a giant group hug.

Fade into the chariot flying off into the sunset as the entire town of Ponyville is cheering and waving goodbye. Spike is waving back at the crowd as the chariot flies into the sunset to new adventures in Canterlot. Slow version of the theme tune that they play whenever Twilight is narrating the moral to Celestia plays as Twilight's voiceover explains that growing up doesn't mean you have to leave things behind. It's just the beginning to a new adventure, one that you should share with your friends. Pans to talking laughing group. Maybe Celestia does something goofy here as well.

Fade into the 'parchment' colour screen they used at the start of Episode 2, saying 'The End'. By now the music is on Piano keys, and it ends on a few upbeat notes. Credits roll in silence.

A talent show where Spike rigs the performances and makes it so that Rarity is the loser so he can take her in her weakest and most vulnerable moment ("I lost?! Wahahahahah ;_;") and comfort her, so she will end up viewing Spike in a positive light, but it all backfires when Rarity sees Spike fucking with her props for her performance and thinks that Twilight commissioned Spike to go screw up her performance so Twilight herself would end up winning, not Rarity. This leads to Rarity and Twilight having a bit of a feud for the episode, until Spike fesses up and has to tell the truth to everyone involved.

Moral: Honesty is usually the best policy between friends, as evidenced by how Spike tells the truth which fixes everything in the end.

How about an episode where a pony farts.
It's completely unnatural, and it turns out that it's some kind of disease, because ponies don't normally fart.

Twilight tries to find a cure by studying the infected pony. Turns out, the disease is totally contagious and Twi catches it too.

Soon, all of Ponyville is infected. It start spreading to other cities and towns, eventually reaching Canterlot.

Celestia and Luna are kept in a special decontamination chamber until it passes over. (heh, passes, see what I did there?)
Unfortunately, the air filter stops working, letting in the terrible flatulence disease.

With both princesses and all of Equestria infected, farting becomes a normal occurrence.

Moral of the story - everypony farts!

I think I have sort of similar thoughts on that. Some potential thoughts on how that might resolve:

- Gilda and the ponies reach some sort of weird, kind-of-grudging mutual respect but don't really apologize.

- Gilda really is a jerk but ends up being completely reliable when she's really needed for something.

- Dash realizes she's not much better than Gilda; cue existential freakout.

- Dash is hanging out with Gilda in private. The rest of the main six don't want her doing this. Gilda doesn't want Dash hanging out with the other ponies. Dash realizes everyone is kind of terrible; cue existential freakout.

- Gilda tries to make good with pony society and befriends a random pegasus -- who happens to be Derpy hooves. Later sees ponies (Perhaps Dash???) being really mean to Derpy. Realizes how much of a jerk she was and that ponies weren't any better than her after all; cue existential freakout.

Rainbow Dash is secretly a fan of something that is both really girly and meant for little kids. (maybe she's playing with dolls) and tries to hide it from everypony, afraid they'll make fun of her for it. She gets really mad and tries to cover it up when she eventually gets found out, possibly by Dumbbell and Basketball Guy, but at the end of the episode Twilight tells her that it's OK to like girly things and your true friends won't judge you for having unusual hobbies because what you happen to like doesn't change who you really are.

Here's another idea I've been cooking up. Rainbow Dash, despite her dedication and training, is left questioning whether or not she will ever become a Wonderbolt. Despite her performing a Sonic Rainboom and winning the Best Young Flyer competition, the Wonderbolts have yet to show true interest in letting her join their ranks.

Desperate to impress them, and believing that only winning competitions and performing stunts will get her noticed, Rainbow Dash signs herself up for the Equestrian Air-Rally tournament, a notoriously dangerous Pegasus sporting event that takes place in the Everfree Forest. It involves flying at high speeds beneath treetop level, with only a narrow path through the trees to follow (in many ways it's like an Equestrian version of rally-racing). Dash immerses herself in her training, completely ignoring her friends despite their concern for her safety. Another problem is that other participants in the race include a notorious gang of pegasi who have been suspected of cheating (Shadowbolts maybe?).

Things go sour when an attempt to cheat by the Shadowbolt-esque gang leaves a younger pegasi, also aspiring to be a Wonderbolt, with his wings badly broken. Rainbow Dash, though wanting to win the race, willingly forfeits and rushes the injured pegasus to the hospital. Rainbow Dash's speed ensures that the pegasus wouldn't spend the rest of his life on the ground.

Dash leaves the hospital, content that she saved the pegasus' wings, but disappointed that she couldn't win the race and get the renown that she felt the Wonderbolts were looking for. Outside, she is surprised to meet Spitfire, out of uniform, congratulating her on the race (Spitfire was an avid participant in the rally-races when she was younger, and still watches them). She tells Dash that it takes infinitely more courage and heart to do what she did rather than win a stupid race. Though Dash is still too young to join the group, Spitfire encourages her to keep training, saying that for what she's done, she has her vote.

Insert some lesson about winning not being everything. Also, this song needs to be the Shadowbolty-bad-guy-group's theme.

An episode where Fluttershy becomes an angry douche, in response to being walked all over by the mane cast since she is naturally soft-hearted. Think of her turning into a horrible combination of Gilda with a splash of Flutterrage.

Fluttershy learns that being a jerk might get you what you want once in a while, but you'll sacrifice your self-respect and the friendship of others in the process. At the same time, the mane cast learns that with friendship comes respecting all your friends. Otherwise, one day they'll greet you with a cold shoulder when you need them most.

I want an episode where one of the Mane 6 (obviously excluding Applejack) develops a crush on Big Mac. Preferably Rainbow Dash, because she'd be the most forward.

Applejack would get disgusted, providing a lot of fodder for jokes, and we can actually see Big Mac's personality.

In the end Rainbow Dash'll get over it and the moral will be not to screw around with your friendships through way of obsessive crushing, though preferably better worded.

Also, more Apple family episodes in general. Specifically more focus on sibling dynamics. More focus on student-mentor/sibling relationships that isn't Twilight Sparkle and Celestia related, really.

Rarity concedes to have a date with Spike, proceeds to be adorably awkward around Rarity.

Spike seeks help from the rest of the main cast. Fluttershy says to be kind = opens door to restaurant (works in his favour)
Rainbow Dash says to show off = Spike accidentally burns down restaurant (naturally, works against him)
Applejack suggests romantic = Walk through the park at night
Pinkie Pie suggests laughter = Spike ruins a sensual moment
Twilight is avoided throughout the episode because she clearly can't give good advice, but when Spike can no longer avoid her, her advice is: listen to your heart.

Spike lays down his feelings for Rarity. Rarity lets him down gently, saying that she feels they're far too different, too much age gap, simply pony and dragon. Spike understands, albeit depressed, and agrees to still be friends with Rarity.

Spike comes home, Twilight asks how it goes. Spike sighs, saying it was alright. Twilight seems concerned, asks if he's still friends with Rarity. Spike says yeah. "Well, it can't have gone that badly, right?" Spike replies "That's true" a bit more upbeat. Twilight asks if he wants to write the report to Celestia, declines due to sleep. Twilight is surprised, but understands. Proceeds to write to Celestia about...something. Maybe that you'll never know what will come of a crush unless you go through with it. Regardless of whether it goes well or not, just be glad you're still friends.

Prolly a terrible lesson there, but I'm tired. Mostly recalled from a fic read on EqD called "Star Gazing". Short story. Cute. But I think it'd be hard to fit all of that into 20 minutes.

Alright...

- (Possible opener)One of the Crusaders save the day and get their cutie mark while the others don't get glory, threatening to tear the group apart from jealousy and feelings of no appreciation. One, stomping around Ponyville, runs into Luna and tells her what happened. Luna responds with a story from centuries ago. Yes, a semi-flashback episode. Luna and Celestia think they were meant for the other's role before they got their cutie mark. Luna's still shy(but intelligent) and Celestia's a leader, but bullies and their own thoughts pressure them to try and change. The two have a near-CMC experience where Luna does progressively more dangerous things to try and "break" her shyness with Celestia slowly realizing that she likes her natural leadership abilities. When something Luna really messes things up, Celestia takes the reins while Luna's intelligence stops things from getting out of hand. Celestia is praised and even gains her cutie mark, but Luna does not, and is mostly ignored, something she carries for a very long time... This ends up with a double moral: Don't fight who you truly are because of bullies, and don't let jealousy create grudges. The "enlightened" Crusader goes to tell the other, but it's too late. Nightmare Moon has claimed her.

- "Anti" Mane 6 used by the Big Bad who work sort of like the Shadowmares.

- Luna finds Trixie, but she's under Nightmare's wing. She fights off the temptation to return to her and pulls Trixie out, Trixie becoming Luna's apprentice(and Twilight's semi-friendly rival).

- Luna gets flak from other ponies after messing up a few days, prompting her to run off. Twilight and Trixie have to forgo their differences and raise the moon. Moral: Do not take other people's work for granted.

- Non-moral version with Luna letting Twilight try lifting the moon up. Hilarity ensues.

- Derpy and Luna(or Pinky) become friends.

- DJ PON-3 comes back.

- A sudden attack by Nightmare/Big Bad causes a massive cutie mark failure "epidemic", essentially sending Ponyville into chaos. It's up to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Applebloom, (HORRIBLY depressed) Luna and (hysteric and smaller) Celestia to save the day.

- G-rated "Zalgo"(Creepy, but it doesn't get past Courage the Cowardly Dog) as the Big Bad.

- Minor Cupcakes reference

- Srs Pinky and Srs Derpy team up to save Ponyville.

- Spike after being rejected by Rarity for being too young accidentally a whole growth potion and becomes a teenage dragon. Accidentally ends up with Celestia. Fluttershy's scared, Rarity's jealous, hilarity ensues.

- Twilight-Celestia fallout after Celestia misjudges and finally gets one of the mane 6 hurt. Multi-episode, perhaps. Ends with the two reconciling.

- Trixie nearly gets herself banished to the moon. Up to Luna and a few others(mane 6 believe Trixie is in the wrong, perhaps?) to save her.

- Rainbow Dash makes a mistake during a race and loses to Derpy. Humiliated, she goes off to beat the first pony she sees. She finds Luna and spends most of the episode pressuring her to the dismay of her friends. Luna finally caves in, and it turns out she didn't want to because she messed things up by being reckless(see first idea). Luna also perfected a special move for herself; the Lunarbeam. Only the Rainboom can beat it, but Dash is too prideful to use it. She loses, insert moral about how picking on the weak to boost your pride is wrong, and may backfire.

- LOST reference. I'm sure its unnecessary, but we do have a smoke monster that feeds on conflict and can take the shape of what it wants.

- Possible series finale: Spike, older and having outlived the mane cast, now looks over the next generation and has become the town's "wise one".

- Possible series finale: Celestia decides to leave after a fight with Luna gets too rough and severely damages their relationship. Will Twilight have to take over Celestia's job?

- More Derpy.

How 'bout this:

Over time, or maybe for a reason near the start of the episode, Rainbow Dash starts feeling less important than the others. Twilight's pretty much the main magic supply in Ponyville, Rarity is the top designer, Pinkie is the go to party thrower, Applejack feeds everyone and Fluttershy cares for animals like no one else. In comparison, Rainbow Dash feels that she's "just another weather pegasus." (Could be any other of the mane 5, Rainbow Dash just seemed to fit the best to me.)

Feeling down about herself, she leaves without telling anyone, and goes into the Everfree Forest.

However, luck has her run into Zecorah, who asks her what she's doing. Rainbow explains her plight, saying that she feels useless, and Zecorah tells her she can show her how really useful she is. (With some weird Zebrafrican artifact or whatnot.)

Obligatory "It's a Wonderful Life" episode ensues, seeing what would have happened to the other mane 5 if Twilight had never been around. (Pinkie is still working on the rock farm without joy, Fluttershy never discovered her love of animals, etc.)

Spike starts cozying up to Sweetie Belle in order to get close to Rarity. The problem is, Spikes actions convince Sweetie that he has a crush on her rather than Rarity.

Spike is left dodging Sweetie Belle's affections until he eventually realizes that he just has to tell her the truth.

I had the same thought, but I think it would have been more impactful if Rainbow Dash hadn't done the Sonic Rainboom.

More ideas:
-one of the CMC decides to make a fake cutie mark. She has to make up stories whenever somepony would ask her about how she got it. lie-based hilarity ensues.
-Another male character in the main group. Not necessarily a pony, but perhaps an armadillo, or a wolverine.

Fluttershy becomes obsessed with a show called "My Little Person". Her friends wonder why she likes a show targeted toward female foals. Some even make fun of her for liking it. Everypony thinks shes crazy, and it takes Twilight to tell her that the show it fictional and to move on in life instead of having the show take over hers.

Perhaps have an episode where Celestia has a "Princess for a week competition".

Result: The mane 6 end up in a tie, but Twilight doesn't want to be one yet. Celestia gives them all(bar Rarity and Twilight) magic to raise the sun and other things.

So the other five try... and basically end up like what the internet views Celestia as.

- Fluttershy's too passive.

- Pinkie Pie's a fantastic troll.

- Rainbow Dash honestly doesn't give two horse apples, but tries anyway. And fails.

- Rarity's a card-carrying tyrant.

- Applejack, however, doesn't know what she's doing and is willing to admit it, so she goes off and gets help. Luna arrives first. Luna raises the sun and... leaves(final "proof" to Ponyville that she's not Nightmare), but Twilight finally pops up for the last day.

What is Celestia doing at the time? Laughing at their misfortune, of course.

Spike gets sick (or injured, either one), and the mane six proceed to begin to take care of him. At first, he feels like this is a good thing since he's the centre of attention and being doted on like that.

But every pony has her own idea on what's best for him, so they begin to fight over how best to deal with the sick baby dragon and he eventually ends up sick of being sick.

Plot twist reveal is he wasn't as sick as he started out as, maybe even faking it half way through, since he was enjoying their attention so much?

Basically 'too many nurses spoil the patient' or something along those lines.

Pinkie Pie is freaking out because her amish family comes to Ponyville to visit her and she wants everything to be perfect (not unlike how Rarity is with her dresses). She claims her worry stems from how her family came from a serious background (you know, the rock farm) and she hasn't seen her family in years.

Her friends offer to help and she accepts. Still, she is beyond nervous and worried out of her mind (even to the point that her hair straightens out).

Finally, her family arrives and are glad to see her. At first, everything goes fine. However, as time goes on, bad accidents happen. It starts out with small things like accidentally spilling punch on one the family members, or accidentally scaring one of them with a streamer, but each accident keeps getting worse, and it all ends with a huge domino effect with one accident triggering another until Sugar Cube Corner looks like a tornado went through it. Overcome by the disaster, Pinkie faints.

Pinkie wakes up in the hospital next to her friends and family. She apologizes to her family about all the horrible accidents and tells them she tried to make everything perfect. Her family forgives her and tells her that they still love her and are still glad to have her as a member of her family.

Basically it starts out like you said, only when Pinkie's family show up they're not really how she described them at all. While they're not as... exuberant as PP, they're hardly the dour rock farmers she described. Other five are sort of confused, but w/e. They roll with it. Parties abound. Great time is had by all.

At some point, PP asks how Granny Pie is doing. Nervously, PP's dad says, "Fine."

Later, PP's mom takes Twilight aside and tells her that Granny Pie died years before Pinkie was born.

The pegasus ponies accidentally let a huge blizzard into the village again leaving the Mane 6 stuck inside the Ponyville public library until the snow melts. This lasts the duration of the episode.

That's right, a good 'ol fashioned dialog driven Bottle Episode. Basically like "Look Before you Sleep", but with the whole pony cast. I'd love to see what the writers would come up with.

I'd go for an episode where Fluttershy is getting bullied by some new ponies who just moved into Ponyville. She tolerates them at first, but she eventually loses her patience, feeds the rage, and goes full Psychoshy on them. I'd be funny if one of them got slugged in the gut by her, just for good measure.

Though the bullies run off crying, Fluttershy's new "assertive" attitude continues, carrying on into her personal life, including her relationships with her friends and the animals she takes care of.

The mane cast spend the rest of the episode trying to steer her back to her normal self. The lesson would be that it's okay to be angry once in a while, but letting it control your life will push away those who care about you.

Ok, episode opens with Dash being awesome. Maybe she's hard at work clearing up a storm, I don't know.
Anyway, Scootaloo (somehow) barges in and begs to be allowed to help. Dash, always willing to let somepony else do her job, agrees. Scoot begins messing everything up, and Dash gets mad at her.
Scootaloo, hurt, seeks out the other mane six (possibly with the help of the CMC, but hopefully not) to find a way to apologize to Dash. Hilarity ensues.
One of them, probably AJ or Twilight, calls Dash out on her general dickishness. Episode closes with a letter about how you should respect people that are younger than you. Or something like that.

However, it doesn't seem to help much. Some of the mane six eventually learn about it, (though not Applejack). For a while, the CMC don't want other people being involved because they think they'll just get bullied more if they don't deal with it themselves.

In the end, they finally ask for help because they can't take it anymore, and who confronts the bully? Who else but Granny Smith wielding some choice words of warning and a good ol' spanking paddle.

The moral being that sometimes there are things you can't deal with by yourself and that there's no shame in asking a responsible adult for help.

Yeah, it's a cliché moral for a kid's cartoon, but it's a pretty important one, IMO.

A new mage-pony comes to ponyville, he's rather old and he's an earth pony, he is the most powerful Mage Twilight has ever seen. Then she gets message from Celestia saying that he is too dangerous and the six should use elements to deal with him. But Twilight and others had already become friends with a mage. They ask him why Celestia is so afraid of him and he tells the story about his youth explaining the issue. ( I don't know, maybe he was to determinated to overcome others and his deeds were too cruel and dangerous ). Then Twilight shows Celestia that there is nothing bad the oldpony can do to Equestria, the Mage makes an apology to Celestia and she responds that she has learned a lesson about the bad guys may change and become great friends even to old enemies. ( Sorry for my English, not native speaker).
