Hi /oat/!

I'd like to know, from each one of you, a piece of your life that will always be there.
Although many of you lurk, I'd like even just a short answer from you. I've already gotten the mods to answer, so you should too!

From your childhood, there's always been that one dream you've had. The one that even when somepony mentions now, you get a bit of butterflies in you belly, and you sometimes feel down about it.

So, do you still have your childhood dreams in the forefront of their brain?
And even if you don't, what were they?

After so many years I still want to visit space. Not even a space core joke, it just seems like such a beautiful, tranquil, vast emptiness that calls.

Uh, honestly?
I've got a list of things I wanted to be, and many of them I want to try before I die.
But space is the only one that I've had and never thought twice about it. If I had a shot to go now, I'd take it.
And for daydreaming, I actually do not remember. I didn't have much to do as a child, and therefore days just blended together, and I really can't remember anything more than exploring where ever we were currently living.

My ultimate dream... *sigh* To speak of it is to speak of the books I've been working on since I was 8. The name I use on the Internet, Raiser XI... is the short-hand version of my dream's form: Prince Raiser Serenity Neutril the 11th (The 11th is more his grade mode than his generation).

The form started as Hell Raiser (1st mode) and has evolved over the past 18 years, last evolution was almost 9 years ago.

My truely most dear dream is to somehow become the emponiment of Raiser. Stout, strong, smart, skilled, kind, wise, a bit random, and always ready for a new challenge.

I am strong, almost abnormally so...
I'm smart, though there is still much I draw a blank at
I've some skill but not nearly as much as I'd wish for
Kindness is something I believe I excel at.
Wisdom is given to us all through experience, and I honestly believe I've experienced far more in my 26 years than most have in 50 (traveled, studied history and technology, and have lived through many things I really shouldn't have been able to)
Randomness is something I seem to do well with, always able to make somepony laugh or scared without any effort.
and I'm always up for a challenge...

I believe I'm slowly reaching my dream, but I've no clue if I'll ever truely reach it in my life. *sigh*

when i was young many years ago i always dreamed of the things most could always guess, like go to space or be a race car driver... but i had one dream i never shared with the others...

to become a doctor.
but not just another doctor that would help sick or injured people... i wanted to experiment, know first-hand exactly how the human body functioned and how it reacted, whether it be obvious of what would happen or not.

i hid this dream for good reason.
the fear of being seen like the others who did achieve that dream...

You can really evolve yourself into anything you'd like, this applying for both directions. Any man may be a villain, but only those who really want a challenge can lead a virtuous life.

There are plenty of new types of technology that now no longer require an actual human being to do such tests on.

Honestly I kinda push myself forward whenever anypony asks for aid, and I tend to ask for help if I need it for two reasons. One, proximity to others in the same task can lead to understand between you and them, and two, I've found that stock-piling favors isn't a very "friendly" thing to do :/

oh, there's one other part of my dream I didn't mention: To physically transform into Raiser's form... He's not exactly human. CLOSE... not not exactly. In all truths, I built him from the ground up almost as soon as I got the nickname Hell Raiser.

6 foot 5, weighing 240lbs, toned body without having bulging muscles (I've got that kinda, but I'm a bit heavier than 240...), wings jointed like an eagle's (much different than the classic angel wings, more like Rainbow's and Fluttershy's), feathered upper arms and thighs, scaled fore-arms and cafts, humanoid feet that have digits twice as long and have two extra knuckles, hands that are similar to the feet but slightly smaller, long kinda dull silvered hair going to the waist (this was before I'd ever seen or HERD of an Anime and FFVII's Sephiroth ripped me off >.>), a semi-romanish face, and a wolf-like tail the same hue as the wings/feathers and hair. (This would only be possible to achieve with either magic or genetic mutation... XD)

Might be the only way to get this part is to download my brain into a computer and wait a few hundred/thousand years. XD


Oh, that brings me to my second dream I've help onto since childhood... Downloading my brain/neural thought patterns/ personality into a computer so I can be copied and uploaded into new physical bodies and live FOREVER! <.< >.> :p

I believe it was somewhere on this board that I read a story about a young boy and his family having to put their dog to sleep... The boy wasn't crying and when asked why not, he answered: "We live long lives so we can learn to understand and love eachother. Dogs are born already knowing how to love that they don't need as much time."

Either way, I hope your dream comes true soon, and if you get the chance, I'd suggest an Australian Sheepdog, one of the most loving and loyal kinds of dogs I've ever met (just be careful of their nature, or you might just find yourself being herded through your daily routine XD)

I used to had a dog, called Spyro.
Was a cute puppy. But typical story... He had to "sleep" and I was really really young back in the day. It hurt me a lot everyday. I had him short time but I considered him my friend.
When O grown up, I learned that friends come and go, everything ends. But still, when I think on everypony that I met in my past, I feel sad... I know they are in a better place now but still hurts. I really hope don't deal with dead anymore.
That's why I can't have any pet. And I try to avoid and have friends. It kinds of hurt,is all. I had OTHER pets besides Spyro, my dog, but no luck either and my family doesn't allow me anymore.
And now I have virtual pets in Neopets.com to fill the hole.

I've lost two of the most fantastic and special friends that I've ever had, too.
The thing that really gets me upset at myself about it, though, is that I was gone away travelling for myself when they got sick.
They died within a year of each other and I never even had a chance to say how much I loved them and I didn't even get to say good-bye to them.

It was heart crushing... but I value the time I had with them so much that it makes it more than worth it to deal with the heartache.
My family has another dog now, and we love her no less than the last two, but there's always going to be space in my heart for my first two pups.

I know exactly how you feel. I was hesitant about getting my little bunny I've had for two years now. And I regret not getting him sooner. I know he only has 6 years left, if that, but he makes me happy each and everyday, even when his is quite grumpy.
If you wanted to have a pet that has a longer life span, there's many birds that live as long as we do. Check some of them out!
And for the parts of friends that you've had to leave, don't ever be upset with that. You've used your time to be friends with somepony. Sure, you can miss them, but what if you were never there for them? The times you spent together brightened their lives, and that's more important that anything.

I've wanted to do that so badly in the past few years especially. The only way I got around it, is I visited an open racetrack. Sometimes, when you're nice enough, you can ride along with a few drivers that really like to strut their stuff.
