>Be Anon >Today is the day. >The day where you finally ask if she will go out with you. >You've been trying to build up the courage for a long time to simply walk near her...but this time, you're going to do it, and more. >With timid steps, you make way to the rainbow-haired girl as she sits patiently at the bus stop bench. >She's alone, as she usually is...but not for long. “Hey,” you say. >She notices you and moves her stuff from the bench onto the ground, giving a space to sit. >“S'up. Here.” “Uh thanks...” >“No prob.” >You sit on the bench next to her as she goes back to her own thoughts. >You, on the other hand, are shocked that you finally spoke to her. >Now if only she would carry a conversation... >Perhaps you should try to start a discussion? “I never knew you took the bus,” you lie. >“Never seen you talk before.” “Uh, touché.” >Try not to sweat, try not to sweat... “I'm Anonymous...nice to meet you.” >She nods. >“Cool.” >Another silence carries, and you pray it's not as awkward for her as it feels for you. >Maybe she'll say her name, mother you can continue talking? >I mean, why not, right? >Just come on as a friendly guy who wants to talk, and-- >“I'm Rainbow Dash...Look, there something that you want? Cause you seem to be trying real hard to make chit chat with me, dude.” >Oh shit, she knows. >Christ this was so fucking stupid of you. >Why did you think this was a good idea? “Uh, y-yeah. I've kinda thought that--if you're available, that is--we could kinda maybe...go out for lunch one night?” >A sigh comes out of her as she turns to face you. >She looks at you, but the face she has is not one you'd hope for. >She looks very unimpressed. >You decide to stare down at your feet, drowning in your embarrassment. “I-I'm sorry, I just really thought I...maybe I could...” >You sigh drearily. >This is worse than defeat. >This is failure. >Dash responds as she has the whole time: without care.   >“Look fella, I'm gonna be nice here and tell you the truth. You and me on a dinner date? It ain't happening.” >Your head can only hang so low... “I see.” >The rumbling of the bus garners her attention, as it hisses to a stop. >The doors open with a cranky sound, as an even crankier bus driver waits for you and Dash to hop on. >The blue girl heads up the steps into the vehicle, but pays you one last moment of conversation. >“You hopping on or not?” “I'll, uh, I'll just take the next one,” you say with a pained smile. >Dash shrugs as she pays her fare as the bus doors close, and drives off. >She's gone. >...You goddamn idiot. >You get up from the bench as your fist clench. >It doesn't matter how cold your fingers are from the cold weather outside, you just can't believe your own stupidity! >You growl as you kick some shoveled snow in frustration. >Why would you subjugate yourself to that? >You knew this wouldn't work, but here you fucking are! >You kick the bench with a yell. >This was so fucking dumb of you! >Yeah, Rainbow Dash would TOTALLY like you. >Fucking idiot. >Fucking NOBODY likes you... >... >Nobody... >With a sigh, you sit back down. >Wow, that's actually true. >Nobody does like you... >You're invisible, obsolete even. >No one hates you, but no one cares about who you are. >Yet you thought you had a shot with an athletic bombshell. >Ha, fat chance. >Of course this would happen! >You're a dork, a nobody. >No one cares about you except your family, and they're hardly ever around to begin with. >You're all alone this Christmas, Anon. >No friends to talk to, no brother to joke with, no sister to tease, no girlfriend. >You are alone. >And you hate it. >...what if you didn't have to be this alone? >There's gotta be a reason you're so ignored, but why? >You take a seat on the bench again. >Why can't you be what you want? >You know, muscular, smarter, better with humor....   1 Year later >“You guys see Anon? He got me a PRESENT!” >Twilight puts a hand on Pinkie's shoulder. >“Whoa, calm down Pinkie. Can you at least try maintain your enthusiasm?” Twi says. >“He and I talked today, and he's so cool and dreamy and super duper HAWT, and he's, like, so nice and stuff that he gave me this!” >From nowhere, she holds a pink ballon dog. >She hugs it closely to her chest, yet amazingly doesn't pop it. >Rarity wipes part of a pastry from her mouth with a napkin. >“I agree. I never knew how charming he could be. He even knew my favorite perfume!” >“And he's so good with my little animals babies! He knows exactly how to love my wittle preciouses the right way. In fact, he gave Angel a carrot!” >“And has no one else noticed how clever he is? It's so hard to find guys with looks and brains!” >“Heh, yeah, ya know that from Brad, don't ya?” chuckles Applejack. >Twi's cheeks become red as she punches her friend teasingly. >“Hey! At least I had a boyfriend...” >“Oooh! Shots fired, AJ!” hollers Rainbow Dash, only for AJ to quip again. >“Yeah, like ya ever had a boyfriend yerself, RD.” >Dash almost retorts, but immediately withdraws as she finds AJ right. >“Ok, fine, ya got me there.” >“Dashie dear, please,” reassures Rarity, “Twilight is the only one of us who's had a “fling” with someone--” >“And it was awful,” Twi grumbles. >“--But please do yourself a favor and try not to take it personally, will you?” >Rainbow Dash folds her arms at Rarity, and scoffs like a child. >“Not like I have a crush on anyone anyways...” >“Really? Because that totally sounds a lot like something someone said who totally really probably does have a MAJOR crush on someone. Do you have crush? I bet you have a crush, don't you?” >Dash tries to back up from Pinkie, who leans closer to her face with excited eyes. >She realizes that scooting away from her is not an option in a booth at Sugarcube Corner.   >“What are you talking about Pinkie? No I don't! Why would I? You really think I'd have a crush on some average dude from this place?” >Twilight grins. >“...You totally like Anon, don't you?” >Dash's cheeks start to blush. >“Fluttershy, you're gonna help me out, right?” >With a somewhat nervous smile, she gingerly shrugs. >“Sorry Dashie, but it's just a little teensy bit more obvious than you might think. Sorry...” >“But I...I don't...” >“Rainbow, please. None of us will judge you if you just speak the utmost truth.” >“Rarity I don't...ugh.” >Dash's face becomes a shade of red as she feels her face get hot. >“Is...Is it really that obvious you guys?” she asks timidly. >Twilight nods her head no. >“No, it's not so blatant as you think, Rainbow...but it certainly was to us.” >“Course we noticed. I doubt anyone outside of our 'lil group here's goin' to, though.” >“Ok, good. I...don't really want word of it going around, ya know?” >Dash looks behind her nervously, making sure no one at any other booths hear her. >“Besides, I kinda messed it up before I even had a chance with him.” >The whole table goes quiet. >It takes a moment for it to register for Dash's friends. >“Pardon dear,” asks an intrigued Rarity, “did you ask him out?” >The boastful girl suddenly acts more meek. >“No. He asked me out.” >Just then, all the girls begin talking in a frenzy. >“HE asked YOU? Rainbow Dash, dontcha know how big that is?! ” >“...I rejected him.” >... >“You...did...WHAT?!?!” shouts Pinkie. >“It was a year ago! No one even knew his name. 'Sides, I was a different person back then, ya know? It was before he changed and stuff.” >“You weren't mean to him, right?” asks a curious Fluttershy. >Twilight starts. >“Of course she didn't, Shy! Dash might be rude sometimes, but never THAT rude.” >Rainbow twiddles her thumbs as she looks down at the table. >Twilight's shocked. >“What. Did. You. Do?”   >The blue girl shrugs. >“I was just really rude to him. I mean, I was in a bad mode at the time, and I get hit on, like, all the friggin' time, so I thought he was being kind of creepy! Honest!” >Rainbow Dash leans with her elbow on the table, a guilty frown on her face. >“I told him that there wasn't a chance we'd be a thing, and he stayed at the bus stop after looking like he was about to cry. I just thought he was some creep at the time, not this lonely kid...didn't mean to break the dude's heart.” >The group of girl all was taking it in slowly, astonished by Rainbow Dash and how brash she was. >The questions didn't stop there though. >“And when was this, darling?” queried an irritated Rarity. >Dash sighs. >If she hadn't looked bad enough already, this next detail would certainly stick out as the worse. >“Christmas,” says Dash, “it was on Christmas.” >The whole table goes dead silent. >“You broke his heart...on Christmas,” chanted Twilight to herself. >Then her eyes go wide. >“Dash. Apologize. Do it. Right now.” >Rainbow looks at Twilight like she's an idiot. >“Uh, hello? Don't have his phone number,” “You don't need it.” >The familiar voice is deeper than the one dash remembers, but she knew its owner. >From the booth behind the mane six's, Anon leans over. >“What the he--Oh. Oh shit.” “Hey, how's it going Rainbow. Long time no see.” >All the girls look at Anon as Dash tries her best not to. >Her face is flustered beyond what is considered possible by now. >“H-hey Anon...! Uh, whatcha doin' here?” asks a nervous Applejack. >He shrugs.   “Celebrating Christmas.” >Twilight notices the lack of others in Anon's booth. >“Then why is no one at your booth?” >Anon answers without a beat. “Because I'm alone. I was gonna meet a friend. I had this sweet deal from a coupon for Sugarcube Corner where if you and whoever you're with get two pies of the same flavor, you get one of 'em free.” >“Then where's your friend, partner?” asks Applejack. >Anon sighs. “I've been asking that myself for the past hour...” >Dash ponders for a moment, but speaks soon enough. >“Anon, can I talk to you? I think you know what it's about...” “Dash. Don't worry about it tonight,” he says dismissively, “it's Christmas.” >“...You wanna sit with us, Anon? Uh, you know, unless you girls don't mind.” >The rest of the mane six have no objections. >Anon smiles as he walks over to there booth. >“Ya know I'm sorry, right Anon?” “Yeah, but I forgive ya. It's Christmas. Now lets order some cocoa, okay?” >All girls smile with Anon. >Tis the season. >Remember that forgiveness feeds into togetherness, and how can we be together if we can't forgive one another? >Merry Christmas /MLP/, and thanks for another year of horse shit. >I love you guys, I love this shit fandom. >Happy New Year.
