  2.
  3. >You are awoken by a sudden stir in the bed.
  4. >Damn Celestia and her bed-habits.
  5. >Your sleeping mood is killed anyways; you decide to take another late night stroll.
  6. >Back to your old spot.
  7. >You star to climb the hills again.
  8.
  9. >On the other side of the camp, a very tired general steps out of his tent, insomnia claiming what rest he needed.
  10. >Shining Armor looked around the camp, seeing the fire long burnt out, guards all asleep.
  11. >He couldn’t blame them, the magical shield he put up around the camp kept any intruders from coming in.
  12. >That meant more rest for his guards.
  13.
  14. >He decided to start a late-night patrol, just like the old days.
  15. >Then he saw a familiar figure come out of the largest tent.
  16. >Anonymous? He must be having troubles sleeping as well.
  17. >Seems like he’s bent on the same goal.
  18. >He decides he should join his friend.
  19. >Besides, what is the worst that could happen?
  20.
  21. >You set yourself on the grass, feeling the soft grass and the night wind.
  22. >You hold out the locket Luna gave you, and you examined it for a second.
  23. >It was a silver piece of the crescent moon, about an inch in diameter.
  24. >There was a dark gemstone in the center, although you are pretty sure it is a sapphire by its blue hue.
  25. >Then again, you had nothing on jewelry.
  26. >You press on the stone, waiting for the moon goddess.
  27. >In an instant, you feel Luna’s presence.
  28.
  29. >”Good to see you again, Anonymous.” She smiles to you.
  30. >Shining Armor was right under the hills, just about to call you out-
  31. >Until her heard another voice.
  32. >His ears perk up, his sleepiness gone.
  33.
  34. >He could barely make out what the two were saying.
  35. >Anonymous, what the hell are you doing with Luna?
  36. >”So, how does your world domination fare?”
  37. >”It goes well, Anon. It’s helpful with someone on the inside…”
  38. >Shining Armor heard enough.
  39. >He slowly backed away, silently approaching Celestia.
  40.
  41. >”… to provide me with two perspectives. It helps to know the importance of this treaty.”
  42. >”Trust me, Luna, some great human leaps have been accomplished with peace. None of us have to fight to earn something.”
  43. >You glance over the treaty Luna produced, and you have to admit, it was well-constructed.
  44. >Your participation on its writ had no effect on your judgment.
  45. >The treaty was simple; the splinter country will end all hostilities with Equestria.
  46. >That’s about it.
  47. >There are other things in consideration, but that was the general idea.
  48.
  49. >You give Luna a friendly hug.
  50. >”Well, I can say I’m proud of you, Luna.”
  51. >She blushes.
  52. >”Thank you Anon, that means a lot.”
  53. >Your release was quick, after all- you don’t want her getting the wrong idea.
  54. >Luna comes a little comes to you.
  55. >She’s doing that nervous shuffle again.
  56. >This cannot be good.
  57. >”Anon I-“
  58. >You put up both hands, trying to stop the approach.
  59. >The bright moonlight caresses Luna in a white silhouette.
  60. >Luna intercepts, and gives you a quick peck.
  61. >You tried to pull away, while she tried getting into it.
  62. >The two of you ended with a single strand of spit dangling from both of your mouths.
  63. >Well, you believe you just lost your jimmies.
  64. >And the large moon in the background isn’t making things better.
  65. >”Luna, no.” You say, gently pushing her away.
  66. >”I’m with Cel-“
  67. >Your eyes turn to the direction to her tent.
  68. >Well, shit.
  69. >There was Celestia, witnessing everything.
  70. >Shining Armor was beside her, pointing at you.
  71. >Fuuuuuuuck.
  72.
  73. >Luna’s eyes shrinks, and she gasps in surprise.
  74. >She turns to you, panicking.
  75. >”I’m sorry, Anonymous, I’m so sor-“
  76. >A powerful force brings both of you down to your face.
  77. >Celestia flies right over, her horn glowing.
  78. >She was also tearing up.
  79. >”LUNA!” She calls out.
  80. >”Tia, stop, I can expla-“
  81. >”SILENCE, TRAITOR!” She is using her Canterlot voice now.
  82. >You can only imagine what will happen to Luna if Celestia caught her now.
  83. >You struggle, slowly bringing yourself up.
  84. >You see Celestia slowly crushing Luna’s head with her front hoof, laughing at her plight.
  85. >You will regret this.
  86. >You feel for your wrist.
  87. >You aim just right and-
  88. >Your shot grazes Celestia’s horn.
  89. >She loses focus for a second, releasing the two of you.
  90. >Luna jumped to her hooves immediately, looking at you in surprise.
  91. >You, the dumbass still on the ground, wave her off.
  92. >”What are you waiting for? Go!” And with that, Luna dissipates into the night sky.
  93. >Celestia, back from her shock, turns to you.
  94. >Her face is written with betrayal.
  95. >”Anonymous, how could you-“
  96. >You groan, trying to get up.
  97. >You hear someone else behind you, instinctively turning around.
  98. >You see Shining Armor, looking down on your sprawled face.
  99. >”Shiny, you gotta-“
  100. >He brings a hoof to your face, knocking you out.
  101.
  102. >You feel a heavy throb on your head.
  103. >You shake it off, and look around.
  104. >The sound of the waterfall is deafening.
  105. >Wait, waterfall?
  106. >You open your eyes.
  107. >”Good to have you back, Anonymous.” Shining Armor looks to you with disgust.
  108. >You find yourself brought to your knees on a platform, hands tied to the back.
  109. >Fucking pony magic.
  110. >You find yourself over the waterfall, just a brittle platform holding you up.
  111. >You then see Princess Celestia, looking at you in an air of professionalism.
  112. >”Anonymous.” She declares.
  113. >”You have been charged with treason. What say you?”
  114. >”Tia, plea-“
  115. >You are struck in the head.
  116. >”You’ll refer to me as Princess Celestia, Anonymous.”
  117. >You groan in annoyance.
  118. >”Princess Celestia, this is all just a misunderstanding.”
  119. >”Did I ‘misunderstand’ what I saw back there? Are you questioning my judgment?”
  120. >You hang your head.
  121. >You cannot beat a woman in an argument.
  122. >Especially when she is piss mad at you.
  123.
  124. >”I gave you a home, Anonymous.”
  125. >”I gave you a place in society.”
  126. >”I gave you peace.”
  127. >”I gave you a rank.”
  128. >”I gave you my trust.”
  129. >I gave you m-my…”
  130. >”Love, Anonymous.”
  131.
  132. >You can see tears are falling freely from her eyes.
  133.
  134. >”And this is how you repay me?! Betrayal?!”
  135. >She starts to home into you.
  136. >You are definitely fucked.
  137. >”Please, Celestia, listen to me.”
  138. >You beg to her, trying to explain what just happened.
  139. >She will not listen, and your words only make her tear up more.
  140. >This, in turn, breaks your heart more.
  141. >Seeing her cry like this…
  142. >You guess it’s all your fault.
  143. >You eventually give up, and hang your head in silence.
  144.
  145. >And to think she trusted you.
  146. >A chill runs in your heart.
  147. >A heartache, if you will.
  148. >Why wouldn’t she just listen to you?”
  149.
  150. >”Rise, Anonymous.” You do as she says.
  151. >”As the crime of treason…”
  152. >”I punish you to death.”
  153. >”You heartless traitor.”
  154. >Shining Armor’s eyes go wide at this.
  155. >But he will not dare to object.
  156.
  157. >With that, another chill.
  158. >A sharp pain follows it, right through your heart.
  159. >You bite down in pain.
  160. >You feel the weapon being removed from your chest, and you see your executioner once more.
  161. >Her free mane, floating in the wind.
  162. >Her gaze, sadly on you.
  163. >Her horn, covered in blood.
  164. >In your blood.
  165.
  166. >You try to reply, but another sharp pain stops you.
  167. >You fall on your knees one more time.
  168. >You look to her with pleading eyes.
  169. >”P-please, tell the r-rest, I disappeared.”
  170. >”No.” She replies.
  171. >”I shall tell them you betrayed all of us.”
  172. >You can feel your own tears streaming down your cheeks.
  173. >You cough out blood, not much longer.
  174.
  175. >You stand one more time in defiance, surprising the princess.
  176. >You give her one of your smiles one last time.
  177. >You then jump into the watery abyss.
  178. >Silly thing, love.
  179.
  180. >”I lov-“
  181. >Is the last thing you mutter before the cold embrace gets you.
  182.
  183. >”Do you see that, sister?” Celestia turns to see Luna.
  184. >Both sisters are now sobbing.
  185. >”You took him away from me, Luna.”
  186. >Luna simply shakes her head.
  187. >She will never forgive her sister.
  188. >”Sister.” Luna finally speaks.
  189. >”I shall never forgive you.”
  190. >”The feeling is mutual, Luna.”
  191. >Luna disappears into the night again.
  192. >Neither the sun nor the moon rose that day.
  193.
  194. >Shining Armor looks over the horizon again.
  195. >After Anon’s ‘untimely demise’, he found himself looking over the horizon over and over.
  196. >Celestia only gotten worse.
  197. >She refuses to speak with anypony.
  198. >Twilight and her friends are confused, both by Anon’s sudden ‘betrayal’ and Celestia’s silence.
  199. >Then, a cold chill runs through the camp.
  200.
  201. >”It is winter.” Shining Armor whispers, seeing the silhouettes of ghastly pony approaching Equestria.
  202.
  203. >”Brace yourselves, peace is lost.” He whispers once again.
