- >You are awoken by a sudden stir in the bed.
- >Damn Celestia and her bed-habits.
- >Your sleeping mood is killed anyways; you decide to take another late night stroll.
- >Back to your old spot.
- >You star to climb the hills again.
- >On the other side of the camp, a very tired general steps out of his tent, insomnia claiming what rest he needed.
- >Shining Armor looked around the camp, seeing the fire long burnt out, guards all asleep.
- >He couldn’t blame them, the magical shield he put up around the camp kept any intruders from coming in.
- >That meant more rest for his guards.
- >He decided to start a late-night patrol, just like the old days.
- >Then he saw a familiar figure come out of the largest tent.
- >Anonymous? He must be having troubles sleeping as well.
- >Seems like he’s bent on the same goal.
- >He decides he should join his friend.
- >Besides, what is the worst that could happen?
- >You set yourself on the grass, feeling the soft grass and the night wind.
- >You hold out the locket Luna gave you, and you examined it for a second.
- >It was a silver piece of the crescent moon, about an inch in diameter.
- >There was a dark gemstone in the center, although you are pretty sure it is a sapphire by its blue hue.
- >Then again, you had nothing on jewelry.
- >You press on the stone, waiting for the moon goddess.
- >In an instant, you feel Luna’s presence.
- >”Good to see you again, Anonymous.” She smiles to you.
- >Shining Armor was right under the hills, just about to call you out-
- >Until her heard another voice.
- >His ears perk up, his sleepiness gone.
- >He could barely make out what the two were saying.
- >Anonymous, what the hell are you doing with Luna?
- >”So, how does your world domination fare?”
- >”It goes well, Anon. It’s helpful with someone on the inside…”
- >Shining Armor heard enough.
- >He slowly backed away, silently approaching Celestia.
- >”… to provide me with two perspectives. It helps to know the importance of this treaty.”
- >”Trust me, Luna, some great human leaps have been accomplished with peace. None of us have to fight to earn something.”
- >You glance over the treaty Luna produced, and you have to admit, it was well-constructed.
- >Your participation on its writ had no effect on your judgment.
- >The treaty was simple; the splinter country will end all hostilities with Equestria.
- >That’s about it.
- >There are other things in consideration, but that was the general idea.
- >You give Luna a friendly hug.
- >”Well, I can say I’m proud of you, Luna.”
- >She blushes.
- >”Thank you Anon, that means a lot.”
- >Your release was quick, after all- you don’t want her getting the wrong idea.
- >Luna comes a little comes to you.
- >She’s doing that nervous shuffle again.
- >This cannot be good.
- >”Anon I-“
- >You put up both hands, trying to stop the approach.
- >The bright moonlight caresses Luna in a white silhouette.
- >Luna intercepts, and gives you a quick peck.
- >You tried to pull away, while she tried getting into it.
- >The two of you ended with a single strand of spit dangling from both of your mouths.
- >Well, you believe you just lost your jimmies.
- >And the large moon in the background isn’t making things better.
- >”Luna, no.” You say, gently pushing her away.
- >”I’m with Cel-“
- >Your eyes turn to the direction to her tent.
- >Well, shit.
- >There was Celestia, witnessing everything.
- >Shining Armor was beside her, pointing at you.
- >Fuuuuuuuck.
- >Luna’s eyes shrinks, and she gasps in surprise.
- >She turns to you, panicking.
- >”I’m sorry, Anonymous, I’m so sor-“
- >A powerful force brings both of you down to your face.
- >Celestia flies right over, her horn glowing.
- >She was also tearing up.
- >”LUNA!” She calls out.
- >”Tia, stop, I can expla-“
- >”SILENCE, TRAITOR!” She is using her Canterlot voice now.
- >You can only imagine what will happen to Luna if Celestia caught her now.
- >You struggle, slowly bringing yourself up.
- >You see Celestia slowly crushing Luna’s head with her front hoof, laughing at her plight.
- >You will regret this.
- >You feel for your wrist.
- >You aim just right and-
- >Your shot grazes Celestia’s horn.
- >She loses focus for a second, releasing the two of you.
- >Luna jumped to her hooves immediately, looking at you in surprise.
- >You, the dumbass still on the ground, wave her off.
- >”What are you waiting for? Go!” And with that, Luna dissipates into the night sky.
- >Celestia, back from her shock, turns to you.
- >Her face is written with betrayal.
- >”Anonymous, how could you-“
- >You groan, trying to get up.
- >You hear someone else behind you, instinctively turning around.
- >You see Shining Armor, looking down on your sprawled face.
- >”Shiny, you gotta-“
- >He brings a hoof to your face, knocking you out.
- >You feel a heavy throb on your head.
- >You shake it off, and look around.
- >The sound of the waterfall is deafening.
- >Wait, waterfall?
- >You open your eyes.
- >”Good to have you back, Anonymous.” Shining Armor looks to you with disgust.
- >You find yourself brought to your knees on a platform, hands tied to the back.
- >Fucking pony magic.
- >You find yourself over the waterfall, just a brittle platform holding you up.
- >You then see Princess Celestia, looking at you in an air of professionalism.
- >”Anonymous.” She declares.
- >”You have been charged with treason. What say you?”
- >”Tia, plea-“
- >You are struck in the head.
- >”You’ll refer to me as Princess Celestia, Anonymous.”
- >You groan in annoyance.
- >”Princess Celestia, this is all just a misunderstanding.”
- >”Did I ‘misunderstand’ what I saw back there? Are you questioning my judgment?”
- >You hang your head.
- >You cannot beat a woman in an argument.
- >Especially when she is piss mad at you.
- >”I gave you a home, Anonymous.”
- >”I gave you a place in society.”
- >”I gave you peace.”
- >”I gave you a rank.”
- >”I gave you my trust.”
- >I gave you m-my…”
- >”Love, Anonymous.”
- >You can see tears are falling freely from her eyes.
- >”And this is how you repay me?! Betrayal?!”
- >She starts to home into you.
- >You are definitely fucked.
- >”Please, Celestia, listen to me.”
- >You beg to her, trying to explain what just happened.
- >She will not listen, and your words only make her tear up more.
- >This, in turn, breaks your heart more.
- >Seeing her cry like this…
- >You guess it’s all your fault.
- >You eventually give up, and hang your head in silence.
- >And to think she trusted you.
- >A chill runs in your heart.
- >A heartache, if you will.
- >Why wouldn’t she just listen to you?”
- >”Rise, Anonymous.” You do as she says.
- >”As the crime of treason…”
- >”I punish you to death.”
- >”You heartless traitor.”
- >Shining Armor’s eyes go wide at this.
- >But he will not dare to object.
- >With that, another chill.
- >A sharp pain follows it, right through your heart.
- >You bite down in pain.
- >You feel the weapon being removed from your chest, and you see your executioner once more.
- >Her free mane, floating in the wind.
- >Her gaze, sadly on you.
- >Her horn, covered in blood.
- >In your blood.
- >You try to reply, but another sharp pain stops you.
- >You fall on your knees one more time.
- >You look to her with pleading eyes.
- >”P-please, tell the r-rest, I disappeared.”
- >”No.” She replies.
- >”I shall tell them you betrayed all of us.”
- >You can feel your own tears streaming down your cheeks.
- >You cough out blood, not much longer.
- >You stand one more time in defiance, surprising the princess.
- >You give her one of your smiles one last time.
- >You then jump into the watery abyss.
- >Silly thing, love.
- >”I lov-“
- >Is the last thing you mutter before the cold embrace gets you.
- >”Do you see that, sister?” Celestia turns to see Luna.
- >Both sisters are now sobbing.
- >”You took him away from me, Luna.”
- >Luna simply shakes her head.
- >She will never forgive her sister.
- >”Sister.” Luna finally speaks.
- >”I shall never forgive you.”
- >”The feeling is mutual, Luna.”
- >Luna disappears into the night again.
- >Neither the sun nor the moon rose that day.
- >Shining Armor looks over the horizon again.
- >After Anon’s ‘untimely demise’, he found himself looking over the horizon over and over.
- >Celestia only gotten worse.
- >She refuses to speak with anypony.
- >Twilight and her friends are confused, both by Anon’s sudden ‘betrayal’ and Celestia’s silence.
- >Then, a cold chill runs through the camp.
- >”It is winter.” Shining Armor whispers, seeing the silhouettes of ghastly pony approaching Equestria.
- >”Brace yourselves, peace is lost.” He whispers once again.
