Norman gets his feet illuminated (part 1)

This is the story of how a summoner met the most beautiful of champions; it also makes the writer want to puke:

 

Our story begins in a peaceful forest just outside Piltover. Norman, who recently joined the summoner’s guild, had been living in a small home built on trees, which looked like a big tree house. His parents were killed when he was 8 years old and he had been living on his own for most of his life, even though he could live in the big and pretty Summoner's quarters up in Demacia, he didn't want to. Piltover's government took care of Norman and made sure that he stayed alive.

 

The sun rose as Norman tossed and turned in bed struggling to wake up; when he finally did he got dressed and headed out into the forest to go gather some food. On the way, a Piltover messenger found Norman and said:

'' Good morning Norman''.

'' Good morning'' Norman replied.

'' The government gave me a message to deliver to you, let's see here, AHA! They want you to go to explore this abandoned mine inside Demacia, they say that some people witnessed strange things going on in the mine''

'' Ok, you can count on me''

 At last our hero arrived at the front gates of Demacia

'' WOW, this is impressive'' he expresses

While he was walking down the market path he couldn't help but admiring everything around him and spent nearly 1 hour exploring Demacia

''Okay, time to get back to work''

Our hero finally found the mine and decided to enter. It was pitch black and so cold, but it wasn't a problem for Norman since he was so used to exploring cold and dark places. As he explored deeper and deeper he couldn't help but feeling stressed. Then suddenly a white flash goes off and a loud female cry echoes the room

''DEMACIA!''

 

Norman started running as fast as he could towards that white flash, which isn't exactly the brightest thing to do but he did so anyway. As the room got brighter he saw a beautiful blonde girl in shiny armor holding a wand in a tired position, dying to get up, as the unknown black figure went in for the kill, Norman stepped in.

'' Get away from her!''

Norman threw 2 of his kunai at the black figure; the figure started to retreat and eventually vanished from their eyes. Norman then ran up to the girl

''Hey, hey, are you okay?''

As the girl looked up at Norman, tears started to fall from her eyes as she tightly hugged him

'' Thank you so much, I was so scared, I didn't know what to do, and my body just froze.''

 

He replied with an insecure:

'' Hehe, I'm glad you're okay...what’s your name?''

As she wiped the tears away from her eyes she replied

''M-my name is Luxanna, but all my friends call me Lux''

''Lux eh, that’s a nice name''

'' What’s your name'' she replied

'' Ha, the name is Norman, okay it was nice talking and all, but can we carry on this conversation someplace else?  '' He joked

''Haha, yes...but where’s the way out '' she asked

'' Just follow me Lux, I know the way''

The moment those words came out of our hero's mouth Lux grabbed him tightly by the arm, Norman understood that Lux was afraid so he helped her exit the mine safely.

As they exited the mine, Norman and Lux saw a big figure running towards them, suddenly the figure cried

”LUX!”

The man grabbed a hold of Lux and started spinning her around.

''Garen! Let go of me, you're embarrassing me!''

'' I couldn't help it, I was so worried, and why did you go without me?''

''Well, you were busy flirting with Katarina that I thought you wanted to spend more time with her, that's all'' She replied.

 

''Don't be stupid, I wasn't flirting with her, I-I- I was just asking her about the weather and- a- WELL that's about it, anyways I'm glad you're safe, who is this young man?''

They both looked at Norman and Lux replied with a cheerful smile:

 

''He saved me down in the mine, if it wasn't for him, I- I couldn't imagine what would have happened'' as tears started pouring from her eyes.

''Is this true...Norman, is it?''

''Uhh yeah, it is, good thing I arrived in time''

Garen shook Norman's hand and thanked him for saving his sister. After a few minutes of talking, Norman said:

'' Well guys it's been fun meeting you, hope we’ll meet again''

Lux dashed over to him and hugged him tightly and whispered in his ear:

''Yes, I hope we do...my hero.''

She then softly kissed him on the cheek and ran off with Garen.

''It seems to me you are particularly warm towards this man, Lux'' Said Garen.

 

''Yeah kind of, he's really cute and cool'' she replied with a giggle.

 Norman left Demacia and wandered off seeking shelter since his house was outside Piltover. He set up a fire and chilled out trying to regain some strength. Just when he was about to sleep strange noises were heard in the bushes. He got ready to attack. Out of the bushes walked a man with a large sword and big, green goggles.

''HEY, who are you?'' shouted Norman.

''Greetings young one, my name is Yi, I got lost in this bloody marsh and can't find my way out. Can I spend the night here?''

''Uh, I guess'' Norman replied.

While the 2 were around the fire, cooking food, Yi turned around and said:

''Hey boy, you look familiar''

'' Uhm, I don't think we've met before''

 

''No, that's not what I mean, you remind me of a dear old friend I had, but he died in Ionia, shame really, lost his wife too.''

Norman stood up and said:

''Did this man go by the name of Rick?''

''Yes, how did you know?'' said Yi.

''Well that wouldn't be too hard since I'm his son''

Yi was very surprised to hear that.

''Are you Norman?'' Yi asked.

''Yes, yes I am''

''My god boy, I thought you died alongside them. I'm so relieved that you're still alive, ''He paused ''That day...was just too horrible, Noxians surrounded us by all sides but just when we managed to comeback the sun rays vanished, we looked up and what we saw was no sky, they were bombs, so many people died that day, Ionia fell, If only I could have saved your father and mother! I'm so sorry boy, I wish I could have saved them, I too lost my family but I was grown up, you were still such a small child and needed he love of your parents...I'm so sorry''

Norman sighed

''Noxians...I hate those guys''

 

A new dawn shone upon Yi and Norman as they awoke from their sleep.

''So where are you planning on going from here, boy?'' asked Yi

 

''Well, I'm going home now, but first I need to go back to Demacia, I forgot to buy food so I can take home''.

''Oh okay then, it was truly a pleasure meeting you boy, if you ever need me, I am camped north-west from here, if you even need my help, I promise I'll help you''

'' Yeah, thanks'' said Norman

Walking back to Demacia for Norman is still something extraordinary since he lived most of his life in the woods. He reached the market and started shopping, after an hour or so of walking. After getting everything he needed, he started to walk back to the gates, while he was walking; images of Lux kept popping in his head.

 

''She's so beautiful, but I don't think I'm going to see her anytime soon'' he sighed ''that’s so unfair''

Just when he was going to exit Demacia a faint female cry was heard behind him.

''NORMAN!''

Norman turned around only to see Lux running towards him. His heart started to beat faster as she jerked towards him and gave him a tight hug.

''Hey Norman, me and my brother Garen had a discussion and we decided to invite you over for dinner ''she told him with a cheerful smile.

Norman was shocked.

''Uh, I don’t know, I don't want to be a nuisance a- '' she cut him off.

 

''YOU'RE NOT A NUISANCE; it's the least I could do considering you saved me''

In the end he agreed, and followed Lux to her house.

The house was massive and it was really something special.

''Norman, come inside, food's almost ready''

They made their way in and sat in the living room.

''So, where's Garen? '' He asked.

''He's in the kitchen, he insisted on cooking the food tonight.''

''That's really nice of him'' he exclaimed.

Dinner was served at the table and the 3 of them sat around to eat.

 

''Hey Norman, what part of Demacia are you from?'' asked Garen.

''I'm not from Demacia, I live just outside Piltover.''

'' That's a surprise; do you live with your parents?''

''No, they're dead'' Norman answered in a sad voice.

There was an awkward moment of silence, Garen and Lux both looked and each other and felt bad for asking that question.

''Oh, I'm s-sorry'' he exclaimed

''No, it’s alright; you don't have to be sorry for anything''

Lux got up and said:

''Well, why not stay with us for a while?”

 

''Sorry, I can't, that's too much of a burden, and I couldn't possibly do it.''

Garen stood up and said:

“HA! You saved my sister and we can never repay you for what you did, so it's the least we can do''

''Well, if you put it that way, okay then '' Norman said happily.

''Wait, how many rooms do you have?''

''Well...We have 2 since it's only me and Lux living here, you'll have to share with my sister since it would be weird sharing a bed with a man '' Garen answered joke fully.

After dinner, Norman, Garen, and Lux made their way upstairs.

 

"So... was he serious with that I'll be sleeping in your room?" asked Norman.

"Yup" replied a cheerful Lux. "We can talk about everything, we can play games and we can do other things that I couldn't do when I was alone."

 

He wondered a while on what those 'other things' could be, but then he realized that he wasn't like them, they were champions and he was a summoner, a new one that hadn't even been able to fight it out yet, but a summoner nonetheless. There was a strict code regarding this sort of stuff. If anyone found out about this, he'd be having his fish warm by the next day.

 

"Lux, can you keep a secret?" He asked nervously.

"I think so" she said.

"Ok, I need you to not tell anyone about this but..." He made an awkwardly long pause. "I'm..."

"You're a summoner, I know" said Lux.

There was nothing but silence for the next couple of seconds.

 

"How did you know that?" Norman asked.

"Every time a new summoner is hired, every single champion gets to know that he exists, what his name is and so on" Lux replied.

 

Norman now realized how under informed he was. The guy who gave him the label of summoner had only told him about the rules of this and that.

 

"Sooo," said Lux after another awkward silence "How many battles have you fought, hmm?"

"None," said our hero. "I was just recruited".

"Well then," replied the always cheerful gal whilst handing Norman a note. "Take this note and give it to the guy who recruited you."

"Why?"

"If you do, I'll be yours, for free. However, that is a matter for tomorrow, it's running late and we both need some rest"

 

With those words, they went to bed. Norman was now Lux's hug toy; he wasn't bothered by it in any way.

Tomorrow, he had a new mission, make that blonde his own.
