  1. >It’s been about 3 weeks since you started training volunteer guards
  2. >After word got out the resident human was going to train volunteers almost a thousand guards had shown up
  3. >After your speech of what the training entailed however…
  4. >You were left with about a hundred
  5. >Recalling all the war movies you had seen and the stories your great grandfather had told you of WWII before he passed you made the regimen, albeit tweaked some to make it work for p0nies
  6. >Needless to say it was sadistic and the guards would have hated you if it wasn’t for the effects beginning to show
  7. >You still played with horrid the idea you had for them, wondering if it was worth it
  8. >Your relationship with Aegis was also moving along nicely
  9. >When she was done with her daily workload she would almost immediately seek you out
  10. >Honestly the whole “Make her addicted to you” plan was sort of half-baked
  11. >But damn if it wasn’t working
  12. >Not a week after you had started with her and her need for you had evolved past sex
  13. >Not to say Aegis didn’t like it…
  14. >But she defiantly seems less than happy if she’s in the same room as you and not at your side
  15. >It had even got to the point to where she had more or less moved into your room
  16. >Too be honest you felt a little bad at how manipulative you’re being with her
  17. >Then you see the stallions not scared away by Cadence eye Aegis and realize you can’t bear the thought of her with anyone else
  18. >Speaking of Cadence…
  19. >“I’ll ask you one more time Anonymous, what did you do to her?
  20. >You glance down in annoyance at the pink alicorn who glares hatefully back
  21. >It’s not too impressive considering she barely reaches your lower stomach
  22. >Dinner had just let out and she had stopped you on the way back to your room
  23. “I did nothing; she’s the one who wanted to be with me”
  24. >”Right, look don’t play dumb with me, I KNOW you are up to no good…”
  25. >Maybe, just not about what you’re thinking…
  26. “No Cadence, Im not…
  27. >She breathes in to bite out a retort but stops as Aegis walks down the hallway
  28. >”Oh, hello Aegis~” Cadence practically purrs, giving Aegis bedroom eyes
  29. >To her credit, Aegis’s eye only twitches abit
  30. >”Cadence.” The white mare responds as civilly as she can
  31. >”I was just looking for Anon here” Aegis continues, making Cadence’s face fall
  32. >”Thanks for finding him…so um, bye!” and with that Aegis starts off
  33. >You follow, but not before looking around at Cadence and making a trollface that would make Celestia proud
  34. >Said pink alicorn just bristles
  35. >You catch up to Aegis
  36. “Wow, awkward was just redefined.”
  37. >She puffs out her cheeks in annoyance “Tell me about it…”
  38. >You “hmm” in response
  39. “So what’s up with her anyway? Why is she so dead set on you even though she’s got stallions tripping over themselves for her?
  40. >”Well, Cadence and I used to be great friends. I met her back when she used to foalsit my baby sister. When we started to hit our late teen years I started to notice she was becoming more…well…”
  41. “Slutty?”
  42. >”Anon! Not slutty! Just more, promiscuous I guess. It was no secret that she was bi-sexual, and until Princess Celestia made her buckle down and face her royal duties she tended to…
  43. “Be a whore?”
  44. >Aegis stares up to you with an ugly look “Must you?”
  45. >You grin
  46. >She just sighs and continues on “Cadence tended to sleep around a lot, and with her looks, status, and her magic having a sort of passive allure effect on her nop0ny could really say no.”
  47. “Damn, I bet she’d got more STDs than Cantorlot has snobs”
  48. >An expression adorable confusion finds its way on the Guard Captains face
  49. >”Whats an STD?”
  50. >That’s right, innocent p0ny land, no AIDS here
  51. “Err, nothing, you were saying?”
  52. >”…Her being loose was already straining our friendship, and when she set her sights on me I guess it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I told her no.”
  53. “Did she have a sweet meltdown?”
  54. >”No, but I’ll definitely remember the look of shock she had forever. From then on I cut my ties with her and now I guess she just wants what she can’t have.”
  55. “Damn right she can’t have you.” You say as you pull Aegis closer so that her 3’3 foot frame is pressed against your side as you both walk
  56. >She giggles and accepts the contact happily
  57. >Its only a few minutes until you both reach your room
  58. >Walking in, you simply flop down on the bed while Aegis magics off her red Captain coat before joining you, hopping in and cuddling into your side
  59. >For a few moments nothing is said
  60. >Nothing needed to be said
  61. >The companionable silence is quite peaceful
  62. >That’s why you almost jump when Aegis winces and lets off a few sparks from her horn
  63. “Babe, you alright?”
  64. >She winces again before answering “F-fine just had more paperwork than usual and it gave me a bit of magic backup.”
  65. >What?
  66. “What?”
  67. >She turns her head to face you “Magic backup, its when a unicorn summons up magic but doesn’t use it, holding a quill doesn’t take much magic so I tend to get it sometimes.”
  68. >What? How long has this been going on? How did you not notice?
  69. >You turn to your side and wrap your arms around Aegis, letting your magic nullifying effect to take hold in full
  70.  >She sighs contently as her horn stops sparking
  71. “Shiny, why didn’t you tell me?” you ask in a soft voice
  72. >She almost seems embarrassed “I’m the Guard Captain, I’m not supposed to show weakness, even for little stuff…”
  73. “Aegis,” you start, voice still soft “You don’t have to hide things from me”
  74. >You can’t help but glance at the p0ny psychology books on the dresser
  75. >You fucking hypocrite
  76. “No matter what it is, just tell me. I won’t judge, just help anyway I can…”
  77. >She smiles and nuzzles her head into the crook of your neck “Thank you Anon. I will.”
  78. >You still got the feeling she wasn’t telling you everything
  79. >Might want to become more observant
  80. >Silence settles over the room again, broken only by yours and Aegis’s quiet breathing
  81. >Moments like this were always nice
  82. >Not to say life in Cantorlot was turbulent but still…
  83. >You glance out the window to see the sun setting
  84. >It wasn’t late at all
  85. >Still
  86. >You pull the covers of the bed up over you and your mare who protests none
  87. >That night, the p0nies in the rooms around yours actually got some decent sleep
  88. ~~Next Morning~~
  89. >RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING-CRASH!
  90. >Half-awake, you look over at the nightstand to see your fist on a pile of ruined alarm-clock
  91. >Fuck, 3rd time this week…
  92. >Noticing you’re alone in the bed you scan around the room with your still blurry vision to see Aegis brushing her mane at the dresser mirror
  93. >She got up before the clock went off?
  94. >”Morning Anon!”
  95. >Cheery too, how?
  96. “Mornin’” you grumble as you rise out of the bed
  97. >You shuffle to the bathroom to find that the shower is already running with shampoo and a towel set out
  98. >You make out a smile on Aegis’s refection in the mirror
  99. >This mare man, this mare
  100. >Your own smile finds its way to your face
  101. “Babe, you’re the greatest”
  102. >She lets out a quiet giggle “I try!”
  103. “And deliver!”  You get out before closing the door
  104. ~~Later, at breakfast~~
  105. >“Anonymous.” Celestia calls
  106. “Yes Celestia?” you ask after finishing your bite of hash brown
  107. >”Bunsen Burner down at R and D has been wanting to see you, something about training tools for the volunteer guards?”
  108. >What?
  109. >Damn that was fast
  110. >You had only talked to him about it a few days ago
  111. “That was fast; sure, I’ll go see him soon”
  112. >”Please do…he won’t stop bugging me about it” She finishes with a wry smile
  113. >You chuckle to yourself
  114. >Bunsen is the head of the royal Research and Development department
  115. >The older unicorn is a bit of a crackpot and tends to ramble, but he has no equal when it comes to turning impossible into reality
  116. >He was ecstatic when news of your arrival had reached him; apparently he was trying to convince some of the other researchers that other universes did exist, and you were just the proof he needed
  117. >The stallion also seemed enamored with the technological advances humanity had over Equestria
  118. >You had of course, omitted weapons in that talk with him, much to his chagrin
  119. >His attempts to recreate human technology were met with limited success, but he was getting closer every time
  120. >Aegis’s voice to your left cuts you out of your thoughts
  121. “You say something sweetness?”
  122. >”Yes, you commissioned something from Bunsen? You know he’s not…all there right?”
  123. “Yep, that’s fine though”
  124. She gives you a worried look “Just be careful around him Anon, he lets some crazy things go on in R and D, and-”
  125. >You lean over and kiss her, silencing any more protests, before breaking the lip lock with a quiet smacking sound
  126. “Shiny, don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”
  127. >”…Famous last words…”
  128. “Shiny, for real?”
  129. >She smirks “Of course not, just promise me you will keep an eye out down there though”
  130. “Promise”
  131. >You spy Cadence giving you a sour look from across the table
  132. >Grinning, you stealthy mouth ‘Cry some more, your angst sustains me’
  133. >She glares and mouths back ‘Go choke an a banana’
  134. >Ow, ok bitch
  135. >’You jelly that I’m hitting that?’ you mouth with a look towards a completely unaware Aegis
  136. >’Not really, seeing as you won’t be for much longer’
  137. >’Oh really?’
  138. >’Yeah really’
  139. >Celestia declares breakfast over before more insults can be tossed, but if looks could kill, Cadence would have tuned you into a stain on the ground with her glare
  140. >You and Aegis share one more kiss before you head off towards the back of the castle
  141. >Arriving at your destination you find an old fashioned elevator flanked by two guards
  142. >Recognizing them as two of your volunteers you give them a nod
  143. >Both respond with a crisp “Sir”
  144. “Hey, you guys spread the word that there’s no training today after your shifts over here.”
  145. >”Yes sir.”
  146. >Satisfied, you get in the elevator
  147. >The steel cage door closes and you begin the descent into the lower parts of the palace
  148. >It’s a quick ride for an old looking machine and soon you arrive at the R and D floor
  149. >Its more or less a long hallway which lead to many different rooms, some for every possible thing a bunch of magic using scientists could need
  150. >To be honest it reminded you of a high school hallway
  151. >The area is busy with p0nies in lab coats milling about between rooms, some mixing odd chemicals, others focused on complex spells and rituals, and more
  152.  >You pass all of these and head for the door at the end of the hall
  153. >Going through you find yourself in a mythbuster-like warehouse, the Tech Division
  154. >Walking in farther you find a number of odd and somewhat familiar gadgets
  155. >You stop to look at what looks like a forklift
  156. >Why the hell..?
  157. >It brings back some funny memories of Battlefield 3 for you
  158. >…And some embarrassing ones
  159. >For real, how did that guy rundown your whole squad in a forklift?
  160. >Feels bad man
  161. >Further you find…
  162. “An A.I.?”
  163. >That’s what the label says
  164. >What the fuck has Bunsen been up to?
  165. >It looks like the boxy bastard love child of a microphone, a radio, and a 1970’s TV with a bunch of exposed circuitry
  166. >You walk up to it and speak into what looks like a mic
  167. “Hello?”
  168. >It plays static for a moment before…
  169. >”…Fuck you”
  170. >WUT
  171. “What?”
  172. >”You heard me. Fuck your shit”
  173. “Um…”
  174. >”Nigger”
  175. >HOW DID IT EVEN LEARN THAT WORD
  176. “…Hey, A.I.?”
  177. >”What faggot?”
  178. “Can you say ‘Falcon Punch’?”
  179. >”…Falcon Punch? What are you retar-
  180. “FALCON!” you shout, pulling your fist back
  181. “PAWNCH!” you finish as you drive your fist into the contraption
  182. >Sparks and bits of plastic are sent flying around with the mighty clichéd strike
  183. >Just before it dies you hear it say “You mad?”
  184. >Fucking thing
  185. >”What is all the noise back here” a scratchy voice demands
  186. >You turn to see Bunsen Burner
  187. >He’s chestnut brown unicorn with a grey mane, a pair of coke bottle glasses adorning his face, and a blue flame design is stamped onto his flank
  188. >He fits the whole “Mad Scientist” look well
  189. >He looks at the broken machine with a frown “Why did you break it?”
  190. “Doc, it was already broken”
  191. >He lets out a few raspy chuckles “I guess, the bugger had the mouth of a sailor it did, but let’s not dwell on that. Come! I’ve got the prototype of those weights you wanted done”
  192. >With that he sets off at a brisk pace to the back of the warehouse
  193. >Following, you come to an open spot in the warehouse where Bunsen and a few other researchers stand around a covered object
  194. >Bunsen grins “My friend, where you came up with the idea for these I will never know, but after many tries we’ve done it! Gentlecolts, BEHOLD!
  195. >He magics off the cover
  196. >There on a p0ny shaped mannequin is a set of gleaming silver armor, the sides inlayed with engravings of an intricate sun surrounding a crescent moon, all of which is surrounded by a stylized “A”
  197. >A large amethyst stone set into the chest plate
  198. >One smaller stone is set into each piece, the helmet, leg guards, the flank guards, the back, and the now armored underbelly
  199. >”We managed to recreate your magic nullification in the suit, so while training the user has to put more effort into doing everything, also the siphoned magic goes into specially made gravity generator runes in key points of the armor, allowing for resistance training. All of which can be disengaged with a switch”
  200. >He points out a small, round switch near the right ear of the armor. It looks like it would flip into the helmet when sprung, making it hard to catch on something in a scuffle
  201. >Bunsen’s grin gets wider “Also, we took that “Kinetic Barrier” idea of yours and integrated it into the armor”
  202. He turns and bucks the mannequin with strength belying his age, only for a veil of translucent white energy surrounding the suit to stop him cold
  203. >Resuming his previous position Bunsen continues “Its powered by a small, but potent mana battery in the chest, and once the shield is broken, it only takes 5 seconds for a full recharge”
  204. >Done with his explanation Bunsen looks up at you “So, what do you think Anon?”
  205. >A face splitting grin forms on your face
  206. >That day, all the volunteer guards shuddered for some reason they couldn’t fathom
