  1. >Savage Anon sneaked through the woods around Ponyville
  2. >He had prey to catch
  3. >He had a bow in his hand
  4. >He couldn't handle a bow like a sword, but he could kill with it when necessary.
  5. >He soon saw a brown shape through a small pocket of trees
  6. >It was a small, younger stag with developing Antlers
  7. >This was his catch for today
  8.
  9. >He quickly got closer and closer
  10. >The deer was oblivious
  11. >He raised his bow and drew it back
  12. >The arrow at the end gleaming
  13. >Finally, he let loose the bow, aiming a little above the stag's head
  14. >The blow stuck perfectly and stag fell down
  15. >Anon the warrior smiled, and walked over to the deer
  16. >He grabbed it and hauled it back to his hut
  17. >He was looking forward to the fresh meat; the jerky was starting to get old
  18.
  19. >He soon stood behind the cottage
  20. >He drew out his skinning knife
  21. >Holding it, he began to cut
  22. >He skinned the beast quickly, and prepared it for cooking
  23.
  24. >He cut up the corpse
  25. >Soon, he had his outdoor bonfire burning
  26. >Once he got the body prepared, he put them up to cook over the fire
  27. >Soon the smell began to become very strong
  28. >He ran inside and equipped his club
  29. >Just in case
  30.
  31. >Rarity walked up the path to Anon's home
  32. >She began to smell something
  33. "What- What is that?"
  34. >She hadn't really smelt something like this before
  35. >She walked up and peaked around the cottage
  36. "Oh my sweet Celestia!" She cried, moving back and almost barfing
  37. >Anon looked up from the fire and strode up to the cottage
  38. >He turned the corner and saw Rarity shaking
  39. "Rarity-" he began, moving closer to her
  40. "No! No you monster!" She said, shaking her legs
  41. >Anon grabbed her
  42. "Get a hold of yourself!" Anon said; shaking her a little
  43. >She calmed down
  44. "I'm sorry Anon.. It's just so strange to me. And gross."
  45. >Anon nodded and let go of her
  46.
  47. >Rarity seemed to still make a disgusted face, but spoke
  48. "I came here to ask you for something-" she said
  49. >Anon nodded, wanting to get back to his catch
  50. "Yes, what is it, Rarity?"
  51. >Rarity put a nose over her hoof, then speaks again
  52. "I had a break in last night. Could you come watch my shop tonight, if it's not too much trouble?"
  53. >Rarity bats her eyelashes, but still looks so disgusted by the smell it just looks comical
  54. "Alright Rarity, I'll be by tonight."
  55. "Thanks Anon!" she says, smiling, and then walking away a bit quicker then you think she normally would
  56. >You smile to yourself a bit, these ponies have no stomach whatsoever
  57.
  58. >The new skin now lies on the rack
  59. >The food has been cooked and you eat
  60. >The rest will soon be made into jerky
  61. >After a big dinner, Anon wants to sleep but doesn't
  62. >He has to go help Rarity tonight
  63. >So instead, he labors at his forge until after it gets dark
  64. >Then, he goes home and prepares himself, reading for an hour or two
  65. >Finally, he suits up and walks out the door
  66.
  67. >Anon walks down the path
  68. >Soon he gets down to Rarity's place
  69. >Once there, he sees Rarity and Sweetie Belle waiting outside
  70. >They smile and wave at him
  71. "Hello Anon! We're going to sleep at Twilight's house tonight. We're scared, we're afraid they will come back."
  72. >Anon looks puzzled
  73. "Why?"
  74. "They broke in last night, and I heard the ruckus. I came down and screamed at the Ruffians, and they ran off. I'm scared they'll come back to finish the job tonight."
  75. >Anon understood, but doubted them to come back
  76. >Rarity and Sweetie Belle left and Anon looked around
  77. >Anon saw the busted out window and such
  78. >He waited for a while, trying to avoid drifting off
  79. >Soon, he heard something.
  80.
  81. >Anon drew out his mace
  82. >He choose a mace this time because it wouldn't scrap and make noise like the sword
  83. >He stepped down the stairs slowly
  84. >He looked down and saw two figures sulking around
  85. >They wore black cloaks, and had big things around their necks
  86. >It's them
  87. >Anon gets closer, and hears them talking.
  88. "...Are the mannequins here?"
  89. "No, I think they are upstairs."
  90. >Anon freezes, and sneaks upstairs again
  91. >He waits around a corner
  92. >The two come up the stairs
  93. >Anon thinks to himself
  94. 'what would they ever want mannequins for...?'
  95.
  96. >Anon keeps moving back and watching and listening
  97. "...Shall we have time for the ritual?"
  98. "Yes, but we need the mannequins tonight."
  99. >Anon thinks and wonders what is going to happen
  100. >They enter the workshop
  101. >They see the mannequins, and walk over to them
  102. >Anon was hiding behind the door, and now has them trapped
  103. >He steps in front of the door and growls out
  104. "Freeze!"
  105. >The two figures stop and whirl around.
  106.
  107. >The first figure, the skinny unicorn female, makes her horn glow and flings sharp clothing tools at Anon
  108. >He raises his shield and those are blocked
  109. >Some pins and needles still his his legs and arms
  110. >he grits his teeth through the pain
  111. >Then, the stronger male Earth Pony runs up and starts to buck and smash at Anon
  112. >He blocks and flings him off, smashing with his mace
  113.
  114. >The Earth pony is knocked down
  115. >He charges and starts to swing at the Unicorn
  116. >The Unicorn tries to stab with her horn but Anon bashes her away
  117. >The battle is over in a second
  118. >The two ponies lay on the ground
  119. >The Unicorn looks completely unconscious, so he walks over to the Earth Pony
  120. >He's still awake
  121. >Anon grabs him; times to get some information.
  122.
  123. >Anon shakes the p0ny out of his delirium.
  124. >He slowly comes out of it
  125. >Anon stares at him, and glares
  126. "Who do you work for!"
  127. >The p0ny shakes his head angrily
  128. "I'll never tell you! Heretic!"
  129. >Anon smashes his mace down on the Earth p0nies leg
  130. >He screams out
  131. >Anon glares and shakes him
  132. "Talk! Talk or I break every bone in your body!"
  133. >The Earth P0ny searches Anon's eyes and sees he's serious
  134. "Ok! Ok! I'll talk!" He says
  135. >Anon smiles
  136. >Before he can talk again though, the collar on his neck seems to glow and the middle section twists
  137. >He stutters and coughs and blood pours out from under the collar
  138. >Anon whips around and sees the Unicorn with a glowing horn
  139. "Stop!" Anon screams
  140. >The Unicorn jumps out the window, breaking glass and hitting the ground, and running away off into the night
  141. >Anon watches with anger and frustration
  142. >He sheathes his weapon and goes downstairs, and contacts Twilight Sparkle in the middle of the night.
  143. -------------------------------------------------------
  144. >Princess Celestia walks into the workshop
  145. >She looks down at the scene, two guards in tow
  146. >She looks over the Earth p0ny's collar, and seems to find trouble in it
  147. "Hmm... Thank you for this, Anon."
  148. >Anon looks at the Princess
  149. "For what, Celestia?"
  150. >Celestia looks over at him seriously
  151. "I've seen this before, my warrior. I will contact you later if something comes up. This is a serious matter. For now, I don't want you to leave Ponyville, I may need you at a moment's notice."
  152. >Anon nods slowly
  153. >He didn't like being trapped and commanded like this, but the Princess was the one who gave him permission to live in Equestria
  154. >She left, and the body was cleaned up
  155. >The windows were soon fixed, and Rarity and Sweetie Belle were back in their home within a few days.
  156. >Anon just thought to himself, worried.
  157. >What could she mean? What was wrong?
  158. ------------------------------------------------
  159. >Anon walks through Ponyville one day
  160. >He sorta hated that he couldn't leave the town, but then again he had nowhere to go
  161. >He was beginning to thirst for adventure, but he had to stay.
  162. >He soon saw a small p0ny trot up to him
  163. "Hey there mister! Mister Anon?" The small p0ny said
  164. >Anon looks down, and smiles at the p0ny
  165. "Hello there, little one. What is your name?"
  166. "I'm Pipsqueak!"
  167. "Well, hello Pipsqueak." Anon said, wondering what he wanted
  168. >The little p0ny looks up at Anon, eyes full of hope
  169. "Anon, let's fight!"
  170. >Wat
  171.
  172. >Pipsqueak grabs a stick from the ground and stomps his hoof
  173. "Fight me Anon! Prepare yourself!"
  174. >Anon looks down
  175. >He is unsure what to do
  176. >Pipsqueak charges, trying to slap Anon's shins with his stick
  177. >Anon jumps back
  178. >He grabs a stick off the ground
  179. >Getting into a combat stance, he waits
  180. >Pipsqueak charges again
  181. >Anon parries the stick with his, it snaps easily
  182. >Then, he slashes with it, and smacking Pipsqueak across the face
  183. >He falls down and cries a little
  184. >A few ponies look on, concerned
  185.
  186. >Anon looks down at Pipsqueak with no real concern
  187. "Why did you want to fight me?" Anon asks
  188. >Pipsqueak looks up with tears of pain
  189. "I want- I want to be strong like you!"
  190. >Anon blinks, unsure of what to do
  191. "Come by my cottage tomorrow. We'll talk about this."
  192. >Anon walks away
  193. >Pipsqueak looks still hurt but stands up and walks off with pride
  194. >Anon smiles, that's what he likes to see.
  195. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  196. >Anon walked home and waited
  197. >He wanted to work the forge or perhaps hunt, but he was waiting for Pipsqueak
  198. >He wasn't sure what to think about that pony
  199. >In the meantime, he went into the woods and grabbed two equal size sticks out
  200. >He spent time whittling them into wooden swords
  201. >Binding them together, he had his practice weapons.
  202.
  203. >After eating a short meal of beef jerky, he heard a noise coming up behind him
  204. >He reached and drew out his real sword, something he always carried with him after that manticore attack
  205. >He whirled around but just saw the young Pipsqueak
  206. >Pipsqueak jumped back in fright and Anon lowered his sword
  207. "Lesson one, don't sneak up on me."
  208. >Pipsqueak nodded furiously, he would remember that one.
  209. >Anon looked at Pipsqueak and wondered for a moment
  210. "Pipsqueak... why do you want to do this?"
  211. >Pipsqueak didn't have to think before he responded
  212. "I want to be strong and brave, like you!"
  213. >Anon sighed
  214. "Alright, then. But I warn you, it won't be easy. I will give no allowances for your size or race or age, understand?"
  215. >Pipsqueak nodded
  216. >Anon threw one of the wooden swords at Pipsqueak
  217. "Alright then. Defend yourself."
  218. >Pipsqueak bit the sword and watched as Anon got closer
  219. >He swung his sword in his mouth to the left
  220. >It wasn't even close to Anon
  221. >Anon slashed downwards and smacked Pipsqueak across the head with it
  222. >Pipsqueak dropped the sword and cried out in pain
  223. "Ouch!"
  224. >Anon kicked the sword back to Pipsqueak, his face hard set in anger and discipline
  225. "Again!"
  226.
  227. >Anon and Pipsqueak practiced all day
  228. >It was well into the dark of night before they took a break
  229. >Pipsqueak could barely stand, his face bruised and bloodied from the wooden sword
  230. >He panted, Anon stood up
  231. "Pipsqueak, there is something I must show you."
  232. >Pipsqueak watched Anon as he went back into his house and came back out
  233. >He didn't look any different, but he seemed to be carrying something very important in his pocket as he was watching it carefully
  234. "Follow me." Anon said
  235. >Pipsqueak followed Anon into the woods
  236. >They walked and walked and walked
  237. >It was very dark now, Pipsqueak could hardly see where he was going
  238. >He panted and had to give his all to keep up with the long-legged mammal
  239. >Finally, he called out
  240. "Stop! Please stop! I need to rest..." Pipsqueak said, stopping and panting
  241. >He didn't notice as Anon walked over to him and gave him a stiff kick to the stomach
  242. >Pipsqueak fell onto the ground crying
  243.
  244. >He cried and cried
  245. >Anon stood over him, his face scrunched up in anger and disappointment
  246. "Get up."
  247. >Pipsqueak shook his head
  248. "No- it's too hard! You're bigger than me! It's not fair-"
  249. >Anon kicked him again, causing a bigger cry of pain and anguish then before
  250. "Do you think the bandit cares if he's bigger than you? Do you think the wolf will take it easy on you if he knows you're younger than him? Does the arrow sting less if you can't go on? No! You must overcome. You will overcome."
  251. >Pipsqueak cried some more and sobbed
  252. >Anon waited a little over a minute
  253. "Get up."
  254. >Pipsqueak nodded and shakily got to his feet
  255. >They kept walking
  256.
  257. >Soon, they came to a fire pit in the middle of the woods
  258. >It was seldom used
  259. >Anon rolled the stones into place, and grabbed a handful of firewood
  260. >Once it was ready, he worked the wood until the fire burned
  261. >He sat across the fire on a stump, and Pipsqueak sat on the other side on the ground
  262. "Pipsqueak. There is something you must know. I am a warrior, but a warrior of a clan. In order for me to train you, you must first be a customary member of the clan."
  263. >Pipsqueak nodded, not saying much
  264. "And as the oldest surviving male of the clan, at least in this world, I will hereby begin the calling ceremony."
  265. >Pipsqueak watched in wonder as Anon got up and silently undressed
  266.
  267. >Soon, Anon was dressed in nothing but a loincloth
  268. >He held in his hands a necklace
  269. >At the end of it was a piece of bone with a figure carved on it
  270. >It had a resemblance of himself on it
  271. >Different man but very similar features
  272.
  273. >Anon held the piece of bone over the fire
  274. >His face stoic, there was a ritualism in this
  275. "Repeat after me, Pipsqueak the P0ny."
  276. >Pipsqueak nodded
  277. "I, Pipsqueak."
  278. "I, Pipsqueak."
  279. "Accept the responsibilities of my clan."
  280. "Accept the responsibilities of my clan."
  281. "To uphold the clan's spirit,"
  282. "To uphold the clan's spirit,"
  283. "To father, guide, and protect the younger of the clan,"
  284. "To father, guide, and protect the younger of the clan,"
  285. "To persecute the guilty and evil,"
  286. "To persecute the guilty and evil,"
  287. "And to hold honor above all else."
  288. "And to hold honor above all else."
  289. "And with that, I, Anonymous of the Ancestor clan, admit you into our warrior circle."
  290. >Anon lowered the pendant, and walked over to Pipsqueak
  291. >He put the necklace on the young p0ny
  292. >He then stepped back and began to chant.
  293. "Old Ones! Ancients! Forefathers!" he shouted out
  294. >Pipsqueak began to feel weird, and the sound ringed in his ears
  295. >He then saw something moving in the fire
  296.
  297. >As the young p0ny looked into the flames
  298. >He saw shapes moving
  299. >He saw the images of warriors
  300. >He saw how they looked similar to Anon, as they are related
  301. >But each was unique
  302. >They were formed in the flames
  303. >Each one stared right at him
  304. >Inspecting, judging
  305. >The chanting increased in volume and speed
  306. "Ancestors! Ancestors! Ancestors!"
  307. >Pipsqueak stared at the flames, unable to move
  308. >Hundreds of warriors
  309. >Maybe even thousands
  310. >Anon's ancestors
  311. >HIS ancestors
  312. >Soon, the flames seemed to be growing, the warriors joining in the chant
  313. "ANCESTORS! ANCESTORS! ANCESTORS! ANCESTORS!"
  314. >Pipsqueak felt his heart hammer against his chest
  315. >the sound was deafening
  316. >With each chant the figures grew in size
  317. >Soon, the fire began to get higher then it ever naturally should
  318. >Each shout, the flame burst outwards
  319. >Pipsqueak felt the heat on him
  320. >Anon was competently enraptured, he was dancing around the fire like a madman!
  321. >Pipsqueak felt a great force coming
  322. >It wouldn't be longer now
  323. >The necklace was burning hot against his coat
  324. >The fire was also burning bright hot
  325. >Anon breathed deep and let out one final shout
  326. "ANCESTORS!"
  327. >He held the final sound, and the fire grew to epic proportions
  328. >It then exploded in a shower of sparks, causing Pipsqueak to shout out as he was rained on by hot sparks
  329. >After that, he saw the fire had died
  330. >He looked down, and saw the necklace was glowing with a red light
  331. >Anon stood still, seeming to come down from his crazed state
  332. >He soon recovered, walked over to Pipsqueak, and took the necklace off of him
  333. >He motioned for the young p0ny to follow him
  334. >Pipsqueak did so silently, the mood was too powerful to break with words
  335. >They left the fire circle
  336. >Pipsqueak could hardly see, but followed Anon without complaint
  337. >Anon was much slower this time
  338. >Soon, they got back to the cottage
  339. >The silence finally broke.
  340. "Anon, what was that?"
  341. >Anonymous the warrior of the Ancestor clan looked down upon his new apprentice
  342. "You will wear this necklace twice, young one. First when you become a man, and on the day of your death."
  343. >Pipsqueak remained solemn.
  344. >Suddenly, there was a slight flash of light, and Pipsqueak's flank looked different
  345. >Lowering the still glowing necklace near it, Anon showed Pipsqueak his new cutie mark
  346.
  347. >It was a pair of crossed swords, the mark of a warrior
  348. "Oh wow! My special talent is fighting! I will be the greatest warrior ev-"
  349. >Anon interrupted him
  350. "Go home. Come back tomorrow. You're now one of us, one of my clan brothers. You will train hard every single day, you will do as I say without complaint or question. You cannot escape it now, you are one of us."
  351. >Pipsqueak nodded and slowly trudged away, his spirit soaring but his body tired and defeated after the long night
  352.
  353. >Anon went to his cottage, put away the necklace in his trophy room and went to bed
  354. >While he laid there, trying to sleep, he thought
  355. 'I thought I was the last... there is none of my clan here but me. But maybe now... maybe now we can continue.'
  356. >He slowly drifted to sleep, the fire blazing in his mind's eye.
