  1. >You were rocked, toppling into the wall of the hallway
  2. >A stream of loose dust fell from the ceiling
  3. >You could feel the pressure waves of the battle waging behind you
  4. >You had no idea that the 'Boss' was a sorcerer
  5. >Much less able to actually stand up to someone like Celestia
  6. >AND Luna
  7. >You assume it'll be fast
  8. >Then again, The Boss was pretty confident through this whole thing
  9. >There's a second burst, and you fall to the floor
  10. >Celestia isn't doing your head any favors
  11. >The throbbing, pulsating pain
  12. >It's almost too much
  13. >You have no idea what's wrong with you
  14. >You let forth a scream of pain and grip your head, slamming a fist into the ground in front of you
  15. >Wait
  16. >WAIT
  17. >You've felt this before
  18. >You KNOW this
  19. >What a time to be raking your brain
  20. >What was it?
  21. >A memory is slowly dredged up from the empty void of your mind
  22. >A diagnosis, from your past life
  23. >A voice
  24. >“...Severe cerebral contusion”
  25. >You have no idea what that means, other than it hurts like hell
  26. >And it doesn't matter
  27. >Even with your head in such pain
  28. >Too many ponies are counting on you
  29. >Your entire life
  30. >They were trying to take it away
  31. >You weren't going to let that happen
  32. >You will die before it happens
  33. >You get to your feet
  34.
  35. >Moments later, you find yourself at a door
  36. >Wooden door, it won't offer resistance
  37. >You lean into it and kick it near the lock
  38. >It heaves
  39. >You kick once more
  40. >It falls off of its hinges and falls in a shower of splinters
  41. >You stomp through the portal, shifting your eyes right and then left
  42. >Cells
  43. >A number of them
  44. >And in each of them are your friends
  45. >You are so close to them, the feeling of emotion swells
  46. >But you have to keep it down
  47. >You have a job to do
  48. >“Anon...?”
  49. >Flyttershy is the first to notice you
  50. >“Anon!”
  51. >She repeats, and gets up on her hooves and moves to the iron bars
  52. >“Oh, my! Anon! We thought you were...”
  53. >Rainbow Dash is next
  54. >She looks, by far, the most depressed
  55. >But when Fluttershy speaks, she looks up from her well of depression
  56. >“Anon...”
  57. >Her beautiful rose colored eyes brighten the instant that she comprehends your presence
  58. >And she instantly takes off from the opposite end of the cage, flying in to the bars to try and reach her hooves through
  59. >“Anon! Anon!!”
  60. >She calls, her voice full of desperation, tears soaking her eyes and running down her cheeks
  61. >There is yet another rocking of the structure on its foundations, and you wobble, helplessly
  62. Dash...
  63. >You allow a smile to come to your lips and move forward, slowly
  64. >You lift your arms
  65. >“...Anon!”
  66. >She calls out
  67. >You misinterpret it as a cry of joy
  68. >It was actually a warning
  69. >Two large, burly arms clasp around you
  70. >You quickly find yourself lifted off of your feet
  71. >In the next room over, you hear Pinkie Pie and Rarity causing a racket
  72. >“Anon?! Did you guys say ANON?!”
  73. >You kick your legs helplessly, unable to break this monstrous hold for the life of you
  74. >“...I had a feeling you would follow me”
  75. >Sandy's voice fills your ears
  76. Where's Spike?!
  77. >You roar, filled with an unbridled rage unlike any that you have ever felt before
  78. >“Spikey Wikey?! Where is he?”
  79. >“Right here, Rarity!”
  80. >The sound comes from behind you, and there is the sound of a shovel smacking against flesh
  81. >The grip on you is released
  82. >Sandy stumbles forward, holding the back of his head
  83. >Spike must have slipped away at some point during the chase
  84. >You turn to face Sandy, who was already recovering
  85. Spike, get them out of here.
  86. >“You got it!”
  87. >He runs into the next room, no doubt to start with Rarity
  88. >Sandy moves to intercept him, but you grab him by a tuft of his shirt and yank him into a right cross
  89. >His head snaps around
  90. >“Anon! Be careful!”
  91. >You hear Rainbow's voice
  92. >Dash has had to protect you so many times
  93. >But not this time
  94. >Sandy comes back with a straight shot to your stomach
  95. >One that bursts the wound that Zecora dressed wide open
  96. >Your eyes go wide as your blood stains not only his hand, but the walls
  97. >You make a pitiful sound, and then get punched again in the gut
  98. >And again
  99. >You release him
  100. >“Anon?! Anon! ANON!”
  101. >Fluttershy and Rainbow struggle against the bars holding them back
  102. >You stumble into the wall, feeling like you had just been run over by a train
  103. >Your eyes were blood shot
  104. >You vomit
  105. >It spills all over your hands, and your hands become dressed in a familiar red tint
  106. >Sandy is not slow, and pins you against the wall with a hand as he lays into you with repeated hooks
  107. >His fists are like boulders
  108. >Your face goes numb
  109. >What do you look like?
  110. >It can't be good
  111. >You repeatedly get slammed
  112. >There goes a tooth
  113. >You feel the cartilage in your nose crack under the strain
  114. >Your brain hollers in pain
  115. >And you holler with it
  116. >They're all forced to listen to you suffer
  117. >But you don't beg for mercy
  118. >Because you are Anonymous
  119. >You thrust your left hand forward and grab the face of your attacker, driving your fingers into his face
  120. >You rake your nails across his eyes
  121. >Sandy screams, and stumbles back
  122. >You take the offense and kick him while he's down
  123. >Your head throbs
  124. >You kick him again
  125. >And again
  126. >Right in the ribs
  127. >You drive a foot into his face
  128. >There's a wet snap
  129. >You keep going
  130. >Just like that night in the bar
  131. >You kick, and kick
  132. >You can't stop yourself
  133. >“Anon?! Anon, are you o...”
  134. >Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash gasp when they see you walking past their cells
  135. >You must look really bad
  136. >You hiss your breaths through the window in your mouth
  137. >So much blood
  138. >Too much blood
  139. >You keep both eyes open at this point, no use keeping your right eye closed
  140. >Vision is tinted red
  141. >The ponies speak, but their words go unheard
  142. >You move over to the shovel left by Spike
  143. >You grip it in your hands
  144. >“Anon... what are you...?”
  145. >You hear Fluttershy
  146. >“No! Anon!”
  147. >Dash gasps
  148. >Fluttershy screams
  149. >“No!”
  150. >They don't want to see it
  151. >But you do
  152. >You move over to Sandy's mangled body and lift the spade over your head
  153. >“No, no! Anonymous! He's done!”
  154. >Dash protests
  155. >“Please! Please, that's enough!”
  156. >There is another sharp explosion, and the building shakes like a house of cards
  157. >You wobble, and lower the blade of the spade
  158. Okay
  159. >You drop the shovel
  160. Okay...
  161. >You repeat
  162. >You are fast coming to a realization
  163. >A horrible, terrible realization
  164. >It's at that point that Spike, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity cross over into the chamber you occupy
  165. >They gasp, looking to the fallen Sandy and then to you
  166. >The bulldog is still alive, he's still moving, still breathing
  167. >But with broken ribs, and cries of pain, he's no longer a threat
  168. >If your friends had not stopped you, though...
  169. >You move over to Dash's cell
  170. >She looks at you with confused, tear-filled eyes
  171. >You have fallen so far
  172. >Bounced back
  173. >Only to fall again
  174. Let's get you out of here.
  175. >They all manage weak smiles of relief
  176.
  177. >You hold your head in one hand as you move
  178. >You are followed by your friends
  179. >You move down the same corridor you came
  180. >Your other hand is armed with the shovel that you were intending to murder Sandy with
  181. >The other ponies are all slightly uneasy that you have it
  182. >You can't blame them
  183. >Dash, in particular, is right at your side
  184. >Loyal as always, you guess
  185. >You spill out into the room where the colossal skirmish of magic is taking place
  186. >Well, was
  187. >Luna was down and out
  188. >You looked with horror, as did the others
  189. >Celestia looked at the end of her rope, her wings still flared straight out
  190. >But the way she was breathing conveyed her desperation
  191. >And the Boss? Well
  192. >“What'sa matter? Several thousand years make ya that weak?”
  193. >He snaps his fingers and creates a shower of sparks, illuminating his features tauntingly
  194. >Dash gasps
  195. >“P..princess!”
  196. >She immediately darts off as fast as she can, intending to hoof the Boss in the back of the head
  197. >“No!”
  198. >Celestia commands
  199. >But it was too late, the Boss snapped his fingers
  200. >Without even looking, a flash of light and an exulsion of barometric pressure grounded the blue Pegasus
  201. Dashie!
  202. >You call, and the other ponies immediately leap into action
  203. >But, just as easily, and to Celestia's horror, they are batted away
  204. >One by futile one
  205. >Succumbing to magical outbursts and lashings
  206. >And never once did the Boss take his eyes off of Celestia
  207. >“Well, your highness”
  208. >He starts
  209. >“You've failed”
  210. >“Your sister failed”
  211. >“Your Elements of Harmony have failed”
  212. >He cracked a confident smile
  213. >“The Dog Father wants that I should keep you lot alive. You know, to welcome him on his return.”
  214. >Nails was still operating the machinery, cackling away in his own little world
  215. >Did they just not notice you there?
  216. >Well, that was a mistake that they were going to regret
  217. >You make your way up to the control center
  218. >Celestia heaves heavy breaths, beating her hoof against the ground
  219. >“You see, Princess, when it all comes down to it... what power do you really have?”
  220. >He taunts
  221. >During his monologue, you secure your footing and approach behind Nails
  222. >Hello, Nails. I'm Bayonets.
  223. >You pull him around at the shoulder and throw a right cross through his face, knocking him over the machinery
  224. >“Control of raising and lowering the sun? Yeah, a lot of help that did ya.”
  225. >Celestia looks over the Boss, watching all of this
  226. >At first, she is confused
  227. >“Your only power is the Elements of Harmony, and those are worthless. So what now, Princess Celestia? Where's the mighty goddess from so many eons ago?!”
  228. >“HUH?!”
  229. >He clenches his teeth and leans in
  230. >But you approach the thick cables that run across the floor, connecting the diode that Twilight is hoked with to the massive pad awaiting the arrival of the Dog Father
  231. >Raise your shovel
  232. >Celestia chuckles
  233. >“I'm afraid you forgot one power of mine, Mister Boss.”
  234. >The mobster puffs at his cigar, raising an eyebrow
  235. >“Anonymous.”
  236. >The blade of your shovel comes down, and there's a shower of sparks that overtakes you
  237. >Energy runs wild, coursing over your flesh, escaping into the air in a torrential storm of atmospheric pressure
  238. >The Boss turns around, his mouth agape in horror as he sees this
  239. >“NO!!”
  240. >He abandons his position and rushes over to you, preparing to cast a spell
  241. >However, Celestia braces herself on her four hooves, lines up a shot, and a horrific blast of light bowls him over into the corner
  242. >Not satisfied with your work, you raise the spade once more and swing it into the glass bulb containing Twilight Sparkle, your surrogate sister
  243. >She spills from it, tumbling to the ground
  244. >You drop your makeshift weapon and kneel, pinching the jumper cables off of her
  245. >In tears, you scoop her up in your arms and nuzzle her body close to yours
  246. I'm so sorry, Twilight. I'm so sorry...
  247. >She is long since passed out from the pain
  248. >You aren't even sure if she's alive
  249. >By now, the others have managed to get up
  250. >You failed to notice the machine going haywire, but they did
  251. >They did not understand technology to the level that was being employed, here
  252. >It's a little over your head
  253. >You stand, and you grab furiously as Twilight is lifted from your arms
  254. >You look with upset, tear filled eyes to Rarity, who's horn projected a magical aura that carried Twilight from you
  255. >“Alright, My Little Ponies, we need to leave. Now.”
  256. >Celestia put her hoof down
  257. >“Yes, m'am!”
  258. >Rarity was the first to file towards the exit, and then Spike, with a levitating, limp Twilight in tow
  259. >Fluttershy hesitated, looking to Celestia and then to you
  260. >“Um...”
  261. >You stand your ground, staring at her
  262. >She was the first one who could understand you
  263. >You remember that first day, getting your first real interaction with intelligent ponies through her
  264. >And that night you spent the night at her house, so she would feel more comfortable during the storm
  265. >She lifts a hoof, uncomfortable with you not rushing out along side them
  266. >“Get going, little one.”
  267. >Celestia commands
  268. >Fluttershy nods in obedience and takes off after one final glance at you
  269. >Pinkie Pie takes a hop in your direction
  270. >“Come on, silly-filly!”
  271. I'm not silly.
  272. >She double took and cocked her head back
  273. >“Huh?”
  274. And I'm still older than you.
  275. >“...Okay, Anon. I'll be planning a Pinkie Party afterward. You gonna be there?”
  276. >You nod at her with a half smile
  277. >“YAY! See?! I told ya you'd love my parties!”
  278. >She zips out with all due pinkie-speed
  279. >Rainbow swooshes over to you
  280. >“Come on, Anon!”
  281. >Celestia remains silent, looking into your eyes as she has done before
  282. >There's a burst of energy from the machine, and a stray heavy cable nearly swats Rainbow out of the air
  283. >Quick maneuvering on her part saved her from it
  284. >“Anon... what are you waiting for?”
  285. Go on, Dash. I'll be right behind you
  286. >Rainbow narrowed her eyes at you
  287. >“But...”
  288. Dash
  289. >She pauses
  290. I... love you.
  291. >It's the hardest thing you've ever said
  292. >But it came out so easy
  293. >She was a horse
  294. >But if Spike and Rarity could make it work, why not you?
  295. >You wish you weren't so blind all this time
  296. >You were tired of being alone
  297. >She smiled, brightly
  298. >“Anonymous... I love you too! But we need to get out of here...”
  299. I have some unfinished business
  300. >“But...”
  301. I'll be right behind you
  302. >She is about to protest again, but another burst from the machine interrupts her
  303. >“Rainbow Dash”
  304. >Celestia finally speaks up
  305. >Scolded, Dash looks over her shoulder and then back to you
  306. >“...You'll never get rid of me, Anon”
  307. >“No matter what you do”
  308. >“I will always”
  309. >“Always”
  310. >“Have your back.”
  311. >She extends her hoof to you
  312. >Instinctively, you show her a smile and raise your hand, bumping it
  313. >With that, she hesitantly zips out
  314. >Celestia waits for a moment
  315. >You hop down from the machinery and close the distance with her
  316. >Standing face to face with the one who brought you here
  317. >An enemy, at first
  318. >And then a friend
  319. >The 'cute' comment still gets to you, some times
  320. >“You don't need to do this”
  321. >She advised
  322. Thank you, Princess Celestia
  323. >You catch her off guard
  324. >“Anonymous, what I've done...”
  325. I've forgiven you for that.
  326. You have done more for me than I can possibly repay you for.
  327. >She remains quiet
  328. I was your experiment, Celestia.
  329. And I am proud of it.
  330. I have learned so much.
  331. But it's time to face the fact that this world isn't for me.
  332. Time to fix everything.
  333. >“Anonymous...”
  334. >As if to remind you that time is short, there's yet another explosion in the machine; sending shrapnel all over
  335. Do me a favor?
  336. >She canted her head at you
  337. Tell them... tell them that I'll miss them.
  338. That they are the BEST thing to have ever happened in my life!
  339. >You can't hold back a choke
  340. >“I will.”
  341. >You lunge forward and throw your arms around Celestia, something which again catches her by surprise
  342. >Her mane feels wonderful
  343. >Cool, relaxing, calm
  344. >Harmonic
  345. >Her wings close around you for a moment
  346. >She remains silent, lamenting her her actions that have lead up to this
  347. >You break the embrace and step back from her
  348. >You glare at one another
  349. >You were a mortal man
  350. >She was a goddess
  351. >But in that moment, you were more equal than you ever were before
  352. >“Fare well, Anonymous.”
  353. Take care.
  354. >In a flash of light, Celestia vanishes, as does her sister
  355. >You have one thing left to do
  356.
  357. >The Boss groggily sits up, only to have the tuft of his collar gripped by you
  358. >With one arm, you lift him off of his feet and glare up at him with hate filled eyes
  359. >He holds on to your forearm and kicks his legs helplessly
  360. >“What... what are ya doin'? You retarded or somethin'?”
  361. >He barks at you
  362. >He holds out a hand, summoning forth a fiery corona of infernal power which which to strike you down
  363. >You cut him off, rearing your right fist over your shoulder and driving a cross into his face
  364. >His spell instantly fizzles into nothing, his concentration shattered
  365. Shut up
  366. You tried to take away everything I had
  367. >You say
  368. >He cringes in a mixture of hate and pain
  369. I'm going to make sure that you can't do it to anyone else.
  370. >You give him another sock in the face
  371. >He yelps, helplessly
  372. >For all of his cool, calculating facade, you are finding that he is just a mutt like any other
  373. >“You... you goddamn idiot...”
  374. >He hisses
  375. >“The machine is still powered. The bitch left a torrential tempest of arcane power.”
  376. >“It's”
  377. >“Still”
  378. >“Running!!”
  379. >He says in horror
  380. >You lift an eyebrow
  381. You better get praying, then.
  382. >“You cut the inbound coupling, ya moron. But not the outbound!”
  383. >“What, you think you're going up in a blaze of glory or something?!”
  384. >“You fuckin' IDIOT!”
  385. >“WE'RE GOING BACK TO TARTARUS!”
  386. >You glare at the petrified mobster as he glares right back at you
  387. >You consider everything that you have lived through up until this point
  388. >Lyra, BonBon, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle
  389. >...Rainbow Dash
  390. >More friends than you have ever had before
  391. >But you also think of all the fighting
  392. >All the bloodshed
  393. >All the violence
  394. >Maybe Tartarus is just the place for you
  395. >You smile
  396. >His eyes go bloodshot
  397. >“WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING!!?”
  398. >There is a sudden beam of light that lances up from under you
  399. >It expands, and encompasses your whole world
  400. >Of all the lessons you have learned, one comes to the forefront of your mind
  401. Because Friendship is magic.
  402. >And then
  403. >Everything goes black
  404.
  405. END
