- >You were rocked, toppling into the wall of the hallway
- >A stream of loose dust fell from the ceiling
- >You could feel the pressure waves of the battle waging behind you
- >You had no idea that the 'Boss' was a sorcerer
- >Much less able to actually stand up to someone like Celestia
- >AND Luna
- >You assume it'll be fast
- >Then again, The Boss was pretty confident through this whole thing
- >There's a second burst, and you fall to the floor
- >Celestia isn't doing your head any favors
- >The throbbing, pulsating pain
- >It's almost too much
- >You have no idea what's wrong with you
- >You let forth a scream of pain and grip your head, slamming a fist into the ground in front of you
- >Wait
- >WAIT
- >You've felt this before
- >You KNOW this
- >What a time to be raking your brain
- >What was it?
- >A memory is slowly dredged up from the empty void of your mind
- >A diagnosis, from your past life
- >A voice
- >“...Severe cerebral contusion”
- >You have no idea what that means, other than it hurts like hell
- >And it doesn't matter
- >Even with your head in such pain
- >Too many ponies are counting on you
- >Your entire life
- >They were trying to take it away
- >You weren't going to let that happen
- >You will die before it happens
- >You get to your feet
- >Moments later, you find yourself at a door
- >Wooden door, it won't offer resistance
- >You lean into it and kick it near the lock
- >It heaves
- >You kick once more
- >It falls off of its hinges and falls in a shower of splinters
- >You stomp through the portal, shifting your eyes right and then left
- >Cells
- >A number of them
- >And in each of them are your friends
- >You are so close to them, the feeling of emotion swells
- >But you have to keep it down
- >You have a job to do
- >“Anon...?”
- >Flyttershy is the first to notice you
- >“Anon!”
- >She repeats, and gets up on her hooves and moves to the iron bars
- >“Oh, my! Anon! We thought you were...”
- >Rainbow Dash is next
- >She looks, by far, the most depressed
- >But when Fluttershy speaks, she looks up from her well of depression
- >“Anon...”
- >Her beautiful rose colored eyes brighten the instant that she comprehends your presence
- >And she instantly takes off from the opposite end of the cage, flying in to the bars to try and reach her hooves through
- >“Anon! Anon!!”
- >She calls, her voice full of desperation, tears soaking her eyes and running down her cheeks
- >There is yet another rocking of the structure on its foundations, and you wobble, helplessly
- Dash...
- >You allow a smile to come to your lips and move forward, slowly
- >You lift your arms
- >“...Anon!”
- >She calls out
- >You misinterpret it as a cry of joy
- >It was actually a warning
- >Two large, burly arms clasp around you
- >You quickly find yourself lifted off of your feet
- >In the next room over, you hear Pinkie Pie and Rarity causing a racket
- >“Anon?! Did you guys say ANON?!”
- >You kick your legs helplessly, unable to break this monstrous hold for the life of you
- >“...I had a feeling you would follow me”
- >Sandy's voice fills your ears
- Where's Spike?!
- >You roar, filled with an unbridled rage unlike any that you have ever felt before
- >“Spikey Wikey?! Where is he?”
- >“Right here, Rarity!”
- >The sound comes from behind you, and there is the sound of a shovel smacking against flesh
- >The grip on you is released
- >Sandy stumbles forward, holding the back of his head
- >Spike must have slipped away at some point during the chase
- >You turn to face Sandy, who was already recovering
- Spike, get them out of here.
- >“You got it!”
- >He runs into the next room, no doubt to start with Rarity
- >Sandy moves to intercept him, but you grab him by a tuft of his shirt and yank him into a right cross
- >His head snaps around
- >“Anon! Be careful!”
- >You hear Rainbow's voice
- >Dash has had to protect you so many times
- >But not this time
- >Sandy comes back with a straight shot to your stomach
- >One that bursts the wound that Zecora dressed wide open
- >Your eyes go wide as your blood stains not only his hand, but the walls
- >You make a pitiful sound, and then get punched again in the gut
- >And again
- >You release him
- >“Anon?! Anon! ANON!”
- >Fluttershy and Rainbow struggle against the bars holding them back
- >You stumble into the wall, feeling like you had just been run over by a train
- >Your eyes were blood shot
- >You vomit
- >It spills all over your hands, and your hands become dressed in a familiar red tint
- >Sandy is not slow, and pins you against the wall with a hand as he lays into you with repeated hooks
- >His fists are like boulders
- >Your face goes numb
- >What do you look like?
- >It can't be good
- >You repeatedly get slammed
- >There goes a tooth
- >You feel the cartilage in your nose crack under the strain
- >Your brain hollers in pain
- >And you holler with it
- >They're all forced to listen to you suffer
- >But you don't beg for mercy
- >Because you are Anonymous
- >You thrust your left hand forward and grab the face of your attacker, driving your fingers into his face
- >You rake your nails across his eyes
- >Sandy screams, and stumbles back
- >You take the offense and kick him while he's down
- >Your head throbs
- >You kick him again
- >And again
- >Right in the ribs
- >You drive a foot into his face
- >There's a wet snap
- >You keep going
- >Just like that night in the bar
- >You kick, and kick
- >You can't stop yourself
- >“Anon?! Anon, are you o...”
- >Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash gasp when they see you walking past their cells
- >You must look really bad
- >You hiss your breaths through the window in your mouth
- >So much blood
- >Too much blood
- >You keep both eyes open at this point, no use keeping your right eye closed
- >Vision is tinted red
- >The ponies speak, but their words go unheard
- >You move over to the shovel left by Spike
- >You grip it in your hands
- >“Anon... what are you...?”
- >You hear Fluttershy
- >“No! Anon!”
- >Dash gasps
- >Fluttershy screams
- >“No!”
- >They don't want to see it
- >But you do
- >You move over to Sandy's mangled body and lift the spade over your head
- >“No, no! Anonymous! He's done!”
- >Dash protests
- >“Please! Please, that's enough!”
- >There is another sharp explosion, and the building shakes like a house of cards
- >You wobble, and lower the blade of the spade
- Okay
- >You drop the shovel
- Okay...
- >You repeat
- >You are fast coming to a realization
- >A horrible, terrible realization
- >It's at that point that Spike, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity cross over into the chamber you occupy
- >They gasp, looking to the fallen Sandy and then to you
- >The bulldog is still alive, he's still moving, still breathing
- >But with broken ribs, and cries of pain, he's no longer a threat
- >If your friends had not stopped you, though...
- >You move over to Dash's cell
- >She looks at you with confused, tear-filled eyes
- >You have fallen so far
- >Bounced back
- >Only to fall again
- Let's get you out of here.
- >They all manage weak smiles of relief
- >You hold your head in one hand as you move
- >You are followed by your friends
- >You move down the same corridor you came
- >Your other hand is armed with the shovel that you were intending to murder Sandy with
- >The other ponies are all slightly uneasy that you have it
- >You can't blame them
- >Dash, in particular, is right at your side
- >Loyal as always, you guess
- >You spill out into the room where the colossal skirmish of magic is taking place
- >Well, was
- >Luna was down and out
- >You looked with horror, as did the others
- >Celestia looked at the end of her rope, her wings still flared straight out
- >But the way she was breathing conveyed her desperation
- >And the Boss? Well
- >“What'sa matter? Several thousand years make ya that weak?”
- >He snaps his fingers and creates a shower of sparks, illuminating his features tauntingly
- >Dash gasps
- >“P..princess!”
- >She immediately darts off as fast as she can, intending to hoof the Boss in the back of the head
- >“No!”
- >Celestia commands
- >But it was too late, the Boss snapped his fingers
- >Without even looking, a flash of light and an exulsion of barometric pressure grounded the blue Pegasus
- Dashie!
- >You call, and the other ponies immediately leap into action
- >But, just as easily, and to Celestia's horror, they are batted away
- >One by futile one
- >Succumbing to magical outbursts and lashings
- >And never once did the Boss take his eyes off of Celestia
- >“Well, your highness”
- >He starts
- >“You've failed”
- >“Your sister failed”
- >“Your Elements of Harmony have failed”
- >He cracked a confident smile
- >“The Dog Father wants that I should keep you lot alive. You know, to welcome him on his return.”
- >Nails was still operating the machinery, cackling away in his own little world
- >Did they just not notice you there?
- >Well, that was a mistake that they were going to regret
- >You make your way up to the control center
- >Celestia heaves heavy breaths, beating her hoof against the ground
- >“You see, Princess, when it all comes down to it... what power do you really have?”
- >He taunts
- >During his monologue, you secure your footing and approach behind Nails
- >Hello, Nails. I'm Bayonets.
- >You pull him around at the shoulder and throw a right cross through his face, knocking him over the machinery
- >“Control of raising and lowering the sun? Yeah, a lot of help that did ya.”
- >Celestia looks over the Boss, watching all of this
- >At first, she is confused
- >“Your only power is the Elements of Harmony, and those are worthless. So what now, Princess Celestia? Where's the mighty goddess from so many eons ago?!”
- >“HUH?!”
- >He clenches his teeth and leans in
- >But you approach the thick cables that run across the floor, connecting the diode that Twilight is hoked with to the massive pad awaiting the arrival of the Dog Father
- >Raise your shovel
- >Celestia chuckles
- >“I'm afraid you forgot one power of mine, Mister Boss.”
- >The mobster puffs at his cigar, raising an eyebrow
- >“Anonymous.”
- >The blade of your shovel comes down, and there's a shower of sparks that overtakes you
- >Energy runs wild, coursing over your flesh, escaping into the air in a torrential storm of atmospheric pressure
- >The Boss turns around, his mouth agape in horror as he sees this
- >“NO!!”
- >He abandons his position and rushes over to you, preparing to cast a spell
- >However, Celestia braces herself on her four hooves, lines up a shot, and a horrific blast of light bowls him over into the corner
- >Not satisfied with your work, you raise the spade once more and swing it into the glass bulb containing Twilight Sparkle, your surrogate sister
- >She spills from it, tumbling to the ground
- >You drop your makeshift weapon and kneel, pinching the jumper cables off of her
- >In tears, you scoop her up in your arms and nuzzle her body close to yours
- I'm so sorry, Twilight. I'm so sorry...
- >She is long since passed out from the pain
- >You aren't even sure if she's alive
- >By now, the others have managed to get up
- >You failed to notice the machine going haywire, but they did
- >They did not understand technology to the level that was being employed, here
- >It's a little over your head
- >You stand, and you grab furiously as Twilight is lifted from your arms
- >You look with upset, tear filled eyes to Rarity, who's horn projected a magical aura that carried Twilight from you
- >“Alright, My Little Ponies, we need to leave. Now.”
- >Celestia put her hoof down
- >“Yes, m'am!”
- >Rarity was the first to file towards the exit, and then Spike, with a levitating, limp Twilight in tow
- >Fluttershy hesitated, looking to Celestia and then to you
- >“Um...”
- >You stand your ground, staring at her
- >She was the first one who could understand you
- >You remember that first day, getting your first real interaction with intelligent ponies through her
- >And that night you spent the night at her house, so she would feel more comfortable during the storm
- >She lifts a hoof, uncomfortable with you not rushing out along side them
- >“Get going, little one.”
- >Celestia commands
- >Fluttershy nods in obedience and takes off after one final glance at you
- >Pinkie Pie takes a hop in your direction
- >“Come on, silly-filly!”
- I'm not silly.
- >She double took and cocked her head back
- >“Huh?”
- And I'm still older than you.
- >“...Okay, Anon. I'll be planning a Pinkie Party afterward. You gonna be there?”
- >You nod at her with a half smile
- >“YAY! See?! I told ya you'd love my parties!”
- >She zips out with all due pinkie-speed
- >Rainbow swooshes over to you
- >“Come on, Anon!”
- >Celestia remains silent, looking into your eyes as she has done before
- >There's a burst of energy from the machine, and a stray heavy cable nearly swats Rainbow out of the air
- >Quick maneuvering on her part saved her from it
- >“Anon... what are you waiting for?”
- Go on, Dash. I'll be right behind you
- >Rainbow narrowed her eyes at you
- >“But...”
- Dash
- >She pauses
- I... love you.
- >It's the hardest thing you've ever said
- >But it came out so easy
- >She was a horse
- >But if Spike and Rarity could make it work, why not you?
- >You wish you weren't so blind all this time
- >You were tired of being alone
- >She smiled, brightly
- >“Anonymous... I love you too! But we need to get out of here...”
- I have some unfinished business
- >“But...”
- I'll be right behind you
- >She is about to protest again, but another burst from the machine interrupts her
- >“Rainbow Dash”
- >Celestia finally speaks up
- >Scolded, Dash looks over her shoulder and then back to you
- >“...You'll never get rid of me, Anon”
- >“No matter what you do”
- >“I will always”
- >“Always”
- >“Have your back.”
- >She extends her hoof to you
- >Instinctively, you show her a smile and raise your hand, bumping it
- >With that, she hesitantly zips out
- >Celestia waits for a moment
- >You hop down from the machinery and close the distance with her
- >Standing face to face with the one who brought you here
- >An enemy, at first
- >And then a friend
- >The 'cute' comment still gets to you, some times
- >“You don't need to do this”
- >She advised
- Thank you, Princess Celestia
- >You catch her off guard
- >“Anonymous, what I've done...”
- I've forgiven you for that.
- You have done more for me than I can possibly repay you for.
- >She remains quiet
- I was your experiment, Celestia.
- And I am proud of it.
- I have learned so much.
- But it's time to face the fact that this world isn't for me.
- Time to fix everything.
- >“Anonymous...”
- >As if to remind you that time is short, there's yet another explosion in the machine; sending shrapnel all over
- Do me a favor?
- >She canted her head at you
- Tell them... tell them that I'll miss them.
- That they are the BEST thing to have ever happened in my life!
- >You can't hold back a choke
- >“I will.”
- >You lunge forward and throw your arms around Celestia, something which again catches her by surprise
- >Her mane feels wonderful
- >Cool, relaxing, calm
- >Harmonic
- >Her wings close around you for a moment
- >She remains silent, lamenting her her actions that have lead up to this
- >You break the embrace and step back from her
- >You glare at one another
- >You were a mortal man
- >She was a goddess
- >But in that moment, you were more equal than you ever were before
- >“Fare well, Anonymous.”
- Take care.
- >In a flash of light, Celestia vanishes, as does her sister
- >You have one thing left to do
- >The Boss groggily sits up, only to have the tuft of his collar gripped by you
- >With one arm, you lift him off of his feet and glare up at him with hate filled eyes
- >He holds on to your forearm and kicks his legs helplessly
- >“What... what are ya doin'? You retarded or somethin'?”
- >He barks at you
- >He holds out a hand, summoning forth a fiery corona of infernal power which which to strike you down
- >You cut him off, rearing your right fist over your shoulder and driving a cross into his face
- >His spell instantly fizzles into nothing, his concentration shattered
- Shut up
- You tried to take away everything I had
- >You say
- >He cringes in a mixture of hate and pain
- I'm going to make sure that you can't do it to anyone else.
- >You give him another sock in the face
- >He yelps, helplessly
- >For all of his cool, calculating facade, you are finding that he is just a mutt like any other
- >“You... you goddamn idiot...”
- >He hisses
- >“The machine is still powered. The bitch left a torrential tempest of arcane power.”
- >“It's”
- >“Still”
- >“Running!!”
- >He says in horror
- >You lift an eyebrow
- You better get praying, then.
- >“You cut the inbound coupling, ya moron. But not the outbound!”
- >“What, you think you're going up in a blaze of glory or something?!”
- >“You fuckin' IDIOT!”
- >“WE'RE GOING BACK TO TARTARUS!”
- >You glare at the petrified mobster as he glares right back at you
- >You consider everything that you have lived through up until this point
- >Lyra, BonBon, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle
- >...Rainbow Dash
- >More friends than you have ever had before
- >But you also think of all the fighting
- >All the bloodshed
- >All the violence
- >Maybe Tartarus is just the place for you
- >You smile
- >His eyes go bloodshot
- >“WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING!!?”
- >There is a sudden beam of light that lances up from under you
- >It expands, and encompasses your whole world
- >Of all the lessons you have learned, one comes to the forefront of your mind
- Because Friendship is magic.
- >And then
- >Everything goes black
- END
