The reason for humans being transported to 4c is unknown but since we've been here, we have learned things run extremely different from the show. We also find ourselves obtaining abilities that was once not poasible and find creatures that exist on levels way above our own.
 
The part of the Equestrian world we live in is on a deminsional collision. A part of the world that ended up as a mixture of shifting multiple planes and universes combining and un-combining. Unstable magical environment that brings various types from different worlds. Some changing form, like us to adapt, some remaining the same, (monsters here).
 
We are able to tap into some of these abilities crossed over due to being from one world and morphing to fit this one. This explains our magical skills and tuned abilities that we have and others from the original show do not. Although, because of the shifts, our abilities are unstable and shift as well. SLSS exisist on one plane, and the SASS exists on another. Some planes have brittle away and cease to exist like the 4S. Which brings up an issue...
 
Some planes are either merging, or stop existing. Only the strongest survive while the rest fade. It's up to us to

Additional idea is that there are beings from in between the plains that have discovered this anomaly and some will try to fix it, while others try to take advantage of it. They too take different forms to fit this world. Why, some of them could even looks like ponies...
