- To go "down the rabbit hole" is to enter a period of chaos or confusion.
- The term was first referenced in the classic novel "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carrol.
- Some suspect that the novel was about a psychedelic drug experience, such as LSD.
- But many others percieve it to have a different meaning.
- Essentially, the rabbit hole is a fixated fantasy imposed onto reality.
- How far down can one go down the rabbit hole?
- No one knows. Supposedly it goes down indefinitely.
- However, people do try...
- This story begins at about 12:30 on a cold Thursday afternoon. Ali and I were playing some Zelda when she says something pretty crazy...
- "I want a fairy, Chris!"
- "A what?"
- "A fairy, like Link has! It would be so cool having a fairy that can fly around be your best friend and analyze things for you. It could even remember stuff for me!"
- This got me thinking. This was something I had actually talked about previously with Raina, a fairy.
- But, instead of being a sentient being with emotions that speaks, a tool?
- Something I could use for various purposes. Not a friend, but a machine essentially.
- This got me thinking. I've been interested in servitors before, but had no idea how to create one.
- Ali seems to like the idea of having a fairy servitor. Raina remains indifferent...
- So, today we began...
- *********************************************************************
- TAEL
- **********************************************************************
- Tael is a fairy.
- Not just any fairy, though.
- Tael is based on the character from The Legend of Zelda Majora's mask.
- Another interesting thing about Tael: He is a servitor. He has no personality. No emotions, sentience, or thought process.
- Tael is essentially a programmable robot.
- Tael was relatively easy to visualize. After 3 hours I was able to visualize him PERFECTLY from every angle.
- Tael's name is pronounced "TAIL".
- 6 Dec 2012
- Session I:
- Visualization, made sure I spent time alone by myself in the wonderland with Raina or Ali.
- Session II:
- More visualization. This time I invited Ali to come and help me. Raina still has not even expressed an opinion. I feel guilty for not making sure its ok with her first, but then again, it's a personal decision of mine. It's not like I can get her put her seal of approval on everything I do...
- Session III:
- Visualization completed.
- That's all for today. I've forced a lot today between Ali and Tael. Tomorrow I will work on Tael a little more.
- 7 Dec 2012
- Session I:
- Practiced chains of commands. Worked on movements like shaking, flying, and even tried to get sound of him.
- ~
- Session II: At this point, Tael is fully mobile in the wonderland and I can give him chains of up to ~20 commands, which he follows perfectly. When he shakes, he is to make a ringing sound, similar to that of a bell. When he flies forward, he makes a specific sound. Tael does not speak. I'm not sure how I would allow him to speak, at least not yet.

- 8 Dec 2012
- Tael is still inside of Raina's stomach.
- 9 Dec 2012
- Raina pooped out Tael.
- ~
- 10 Dec 2012
- No work done today or yesterday...
- 11 Dec 2012
- Worked on sounds
- 12 Dec 2012
- A continuation of yesterday...
- ~
- 13 Dec 2012
- No progress made.
- 14 Dec 2012
- No progress made.
- 15 Dec 2012
- Ali has stopped paying attention to Tael. I think she has lost interest in him the same way a child loses interest in a dog...
- Raina told me today that she wanted to get Tael for Christmas as a pet. I agreed. Now I just have to figure out what to get Ali...
- 16 Dec 2012
- Worked on Tael's specific wing movements...
- 17 Dec 2012
- Same as yesterday
- 18 Dec 2012
- Taking a break today
- 19 Dec 2012
- Pretty good. Going to start imposing Tael soon...
