  1. We laughed at them, we laughed at their promises, their dreams.
  2. "Grukr be our witness, we WILL bring it down!", they used to muse when they'd drunk the tavern dry.
  3. We laughed at their plans.
  4. I remember the day, though.
  5. I was working, tanning the hides I was sold, I wiped my brow of sweat, looking up at the sun, cursing at her to lessen her glare.
  6. That was when it happened.
  7. An ear-splitting noise reminiscent of glass splintering was heard, and the world grew dark as the sun rained down upon the land.
  8. That was when we stopped laughing.
