He was looking for excitement, adventure (and maybe some dick to clear up his dry spell, but shhh). Lucky for him though, he found everything he was looking for. All of it in the form of one Jeon Jungkook.           Also, Namjin could kinda give less of a shit. But that'll be explained later ;) Notes I made WYMN.... completely new. It's the same first chapter though.... See the end of the work for more notes ***** College Is An Adventure...Right? ***** Moving to a new city is hard. Taehyung wasn't sure what he was expecting, he was just following his hyung, I mean, what could go wrong with that? =============================================================================== “Taehyung-ah. Are you sure you aren’t forgetting anything?”His mother asked   Taehyung stopped to think. He was just about to close his last suitcase when she asked.   “Uh…..Ye-”   His mother cut him off, “You almost forgot your iPad and Dal.”   Taehyung gasps and makes grabby hands at the elephant plushie. His late aunt had given it to him when he was younger. He was terribly fond of the elephant and until he was sixteen, he carried it everywhere with him.   After he stopped carrying it with him, he kept the plushie on his bed where he would snuggle it every night. He had no idea how he could have forgotten to pack it. He’d packed all the others.   His mother laughed at him but then grew serious, “Are you sure that you want to keep Dal with you Taehyung? We’re giving a lot of stuff away to charity. We can just add him to it.”   Taehyung frowned, “Why would I want to do that?”   “Because,”She sighed, “That plushie has gone through many things with you. Many, many bad things. Are you sure that you want to keep him? He’ll be like a constant reminder of what happened.”   Taehyung was going to answer immediately. But he didn’t. She was right, Dal had seen many things. Things that were horrible and scarring.   “But…,”He trailed off, trying to organize his thoughts. “Dal has also seen so many good things. He was there for a lot of great things too, and I think...that if I give him away, it’d be like giving into the bad memories. Dal represents the good and bad things in my life.”He replied   And his mother was shocked.   She knew, as well as everyone else close Taehyung, that he was much deeper than he appeared. His thought process may be different, and questionable at times, but it was there. And it always led him to the best result one way or another.   Taehyung was smart, he could handle himself, she decided. He knew what he was doing and she wasn’t going to try to stop him.   “Okay Taehyung-ah. I understand. But just know, that if things get rough or if you just need someone to talk to, we’re all here for you. You know that, right?”She asked, waiting for his response   He smiled softly, “I know.”   ===============================================================================     Taehyung was completely mystified by the city.   It wasn’t like he had been living in the wilderness his whole life. But Daegu was much different than Seoul. It’s just that people from Seoul had an air about them that was different than Daegu. They walked differently and definitely talked differently.   “I’ll have to brush up on my standard Korean.”Taehyung reminds himself as collects his bags   He’d taken the train all the way from Daegu to Seoul. It had been a long trip and, as he had realized, he had over packed. He didn’t have much space in the area surrounding him on the train for him to stretch out. Matter of fact, he had so much stuff that there wasn’t enough room for passengers to sit by him.   He felt bad, but as he stretches his legs and takes in the city air, his guilt seems to drip away.   “Taehyung-ah!”He hears   He turns to see his beloved hyungs walking toward him. Hoseok waving his arms around as if Yoongi hadn’t just called his name to get his attention.   “Why’d you pack so much stuff?”Yoongi asks   Taehyung looks down at his bags and chuckles to himself, “I was talking with my mom…”   “She helped you pack didn’t she?”Hoseok asks   Taehyung nods his head and the three friends laugh. Taehyung’s mother was known between the three of them to be the more overly concerned mother of their mothers. She was the one who always over packed their bags full of food and trinkets when they went on their adventures for “just in case” circumstances.   Yoongi and Hoseok help carry some bags while they all chat.   “Where are you two going? Don’t we have to get on the subway?”Taehyung asks   Yoongi smirks, “Not if you have a car.”   Taehyung’s eyebrows furrow before shooting up.   “Hyung! You have a car?”he exclaims   Yoongi shrugs his shoulders, trying to act nonchalant. But years of knowing him has taught Taehyung that his hyung is actually just as excited as he is.   “It’s nothing super brand new mind you, but you know what Hoseok’s dad always said. “Yoongi says   Hoseok sighs, “A bad ride is always better than a good walk.”   Taehyung and Yoongi giggle at how annoyed their friend is.   “That was literally his excuse for everything. Oh! Your bike tire popped? ‘A bad ride is better than a good walk.’ His car door is broken and won’t close so you are literally fearing for your life as he drives? ‘A bad ride is better than a good walk.’ Do you guys realize how many times my life has been in danger because of that stupid saying?”Hoseok whines   “But look Hobi! You’re alive and well!”Yoongi teases   Hoseok scowls, “Barely.”   And when they arrive at Yoongi’s car, Taehyung nearly squeals.   Sure, the car is a little old looking. But it runs well and it isn’t puffing out smoke.   They cram all of Taehyung’s stuff into the car and then set off for the university. "Don't be alarmed if your roommate won't stay up late until the early hours of the morning discussing new concepts for an imaginary idol group you've put together in your head."Yoongi warns Taehyung rolls his eyes, because yes, he may be a new student, but he wasn't dumb. Plus, the only people he trusted with those kinds of thoughts were Yoongi and Hobi-hyung. Those were sacred thoughts. He didn’t trust them with peasants.   "Also, remember that you're sharing a room. You can’t just leave you clothes all arou-”   “Yeah, yeah. I get it. I know hyung.”Taehyung assures him   Yoongi chuckles, “Don’t be a smartass.”   “Aye aye cap!”Taehyung replies   Yoongi glares at him from the rear view mirror and Hoseok laughs. Taehyung shoots his hyung an innocent look. But he really does appreciate Yoongi, and no matter how much he likes to feign annoyance, he missed his hyung and his tendency to both not give a shit and give many shits. “Taehyung-ah. You ready for this?”Hoseok asks   Taehyung looks at his, “What do you mean?”   “Well, I just mean that this university isn’t like the local one you went to in Daegu. It’s bigger, and all kinds of crazy.”He replies “Of course I’m ready.” He replies, “College is an adventure….right?”           ===============================================================================     If you have any questions, comments, or even if you just wanna yell at me (that's how I've made many friends on tumblr tbh...) feel free to do so here ***** Maybe First Impressions Should be the Only Impressions this Guy is Worth ***** Chapter by Evie_Elle Chapter Summary Jeon Jeongguk, the turd nugget. Chapter Notes See the end of the chapter for notes “This is as far as we can take you, sorry Taehyung-ah.”Yoongi tells him Taehyung pouts as they empty Yoongi’s car of his stuff, “What? Why?” “I have to get to my dance practice, and Yoongi-hyung is meeting up with a friend of ours to work on some music,” Hoseok explains Taehyung’s pout lessens as he concedes. “Fine. But you guys will come visit me though, right?” “Of course.” Hoseok replies. Yoongi chuckles before saying, “What, did you think we were going to ditch you?” Taehyung shakes his head and smiles, “No, just wondering.” “Do you remember your dorm number?” Yoongi asks Taehyung nods. “And even if I don’t, I have the text from the RA with all my housing information.” He then watches as his friends begin to drive away. He looks at all of his stuff laying around and frowns—how is he going to carry it all? He stands there, staring at his things wondering how he’s going to carry all of his things when his phone buzzes. It’s a text from his mom asking how things are going and if he’s moved in already. But, what really catches his eye is the time. “I’ve been standing here for thirty minutes? What the absolute fuck.”He mutters to himself Taehyung grabs whatever is in reach first, and then he grabs the heavier things. His arms are at full capacity and he even has things wrapped around his legs, but he still makes it work. Plus, there’s an elevator. He struggles, but manages to press the button. But there is no ‘ ding ’ sound. No opening of doors. Absolutely nothing. “That elevator is broken.”He hears He turns around to see a short guy and his friends leaving the stairs. He smiles at them, “Thank you. If you hadn’t told me I might’ve been standing there for ages.” “No problem, New Kid.”The guy replies “Oh! My name is Taehyung, Kim Taehyung.”Taehyung tells him “Byun Baekhyun. Nice to meet you Taehyung.” And then Baekhyun and his friends are gone and once again Taehyung is left to fend for himself. With much difficulty, he fishes out his phone to check his floor, only to nearly cry when he reads that he’s on the seventh floor. “Is this some kind of test? Because I haven’t properly exercised since junior year of high school.”Taehyung says to himself as he starts up the stairs The trek is long, especially since he constantly has to stop to readjust the things on his legs so that they don’t cut off circulation. When he finally makes it to the fifth floor and decides to give himself a small rest. He sits down on the stairs and stretches his legs. He even allows himself to play a game or two on his phone. But then, he is back on his feet. He only has two floors left. “Move.” And then he’s bumped into so hard that he nearly topples over. Taehyung looks up to see the broad back of the criminal who bumped into him. He frowns, opening his mouth to say something, but is cut off. “Excuse me, sorry.”Says a guy behind him And Taehyung thinks that the guy from before could take some notes from this guy. “Jeongguk! Wait!”The nice gentleman shouts And then they’re gone, up the stairs and out of earshot and line of vision. The rest of the way Taehyung grumbles to himself. He very easily finds his room, but the key given to him doesn’t work. And he just about loses his shit. He’s already been through so much stuff today. All he wants to do is lay down in his bed and sleep before unpacking. So, instead of walking all the way down the stairs, Taehyung calls the RA. “This is Kim Jongin, resident advisor of Cheon Jae University. How may I be of assistance?”Taehyung hears “Hi, this is Kim Taehyung. I’m calling because I have a bit of a situation here. The key you gave me, for my dorm 712, it’s not working.”Taehyung replies Jongin is quiet and Taehyung thinks that he might’ve hung up on him, but then he hears the distinct sound of cuss words and then the dial tone. “Wow...okay.”Taehyung mumbles And just as he is about to call back, Jongin emerges from the stairs, panting from what Taehyung assumes was his run up the seven flights of stairs. “I’ll handle this.”Jongin assures him Taehyung stands back, expecting Jongin to knock on the door. But no, instead, he roundhouse kicks the door open. “That seems a little extreme, but ok-” Taehyung is cut off by Jongin. “Jeon Jeonfuck! What have I told you about changing the locks?”Jongin yells Taehyung is immediately taken aback by Jongin’s change in demeanor. He wasn’t expecting the mild mannered seeming guy to be so...aggressive? Strong? No...Taehyung couldn’t think of the word, but whatever it was, he wasn’t expecting Jongin to be that. Jeon Jeonfuck (Taehyung knows that can’t be his name. Otherwise his parents had screwed their child for life) nonchalantly picks up the broken door and turns to Jongin, “You’re paying for that, I hope you know that, Kai .” Jongin reddens at the name but doesn’t back down, “This is your roommate, you better play nice.” “I don’t want a roommate. I already told you that!”The Jeon guy yells And Taehyung assumes that this is a regular occurrence, the shouting match, because no one steps out of their room to see what’s going on. No one intervenes. In fact, the guys who had been hanging in the hall had scurried into their dorm. Yeah, this definitely must be a regular thing. “We talked about this, you don’t get to decide!”Jongin yells “I got to decide last semester. If I’m not able to decide, what was that?”The Jeon guy counters And Taehyung has to admit, the Jeon guy has a point. “Because there was enough space for more students to go without roommates. Things change, now get out of the way. Your roommate needs to put his stuff in his room before he fucking passes out.”Jongin says And then, all the attention is on Taehyung. Thanks a fucking lot Jongin. “ This guy is my roommate?” Taehyung frowns, “Yeah, I am.” Jongin pushes the Jeon guy aside to allow Taehyung to walk in. He bumps into his roommate and immediately scoots away because he looks like he’s going to punch Taehyung in the face. He scurries away and, through trial and error, he finds his bedroom. The whole dorm seems impersonal. Like no one lived there, there's no personal items decorating the dorm at all. And what's worse, the whole place feels cold. Empty even, but Taehyung vows to at least make his room emanate the kind of warmth he had expected of his dorm and his roommate.   ===============================================================================     It has been two days since Taehyung moved in and he has only learned a little bit about his roommate. A little meaning that he had only learned that his name is Jeon Jeongguk.   Also, Jeongguk was definitely no help in helping Taehyung get situated. He has come to realize that Jeongguk is the type of person to like his space. He is the type of person to have a very, very large personal space bubble. And Taehyung is fine with that. But what has irked the brunette is the fact that Jeongguk's friend is more helpful than Jeongguk. Weren't roommates supposed to lend a helping hand or something? The day after Taehyung arrived Kim Yugyeom, a friend of Jeongguk’s, was there. He had assisted Taehyung the whole day. Even though they had just met! Like, the kid was practically at Taehyung's beck and call. He helped Taehyung find the first aid kit when Taehyung accidentally cut himself with one of his Haikyuu! posters, he helped him locate all the extra cabinet space for his things, hell, he even walked Taehyung to the laundry room in basement. (And as a rule Kim Yugyeom never went down to that basement, but Taehyung didn't have to know that…)   Jeongguk is a useless roommate who seems hell bent on hating Taehyung. And so, because of that, Jeon Jeongguk is turning out to be a real turd nugget.   Taehyung is just hoping that maybe, just maybe, he’s wrong about his roommate. Chapter End Notes The second chapter has been published, what do y'all think? End Notes So I deleted the old one and made a new one. The old one had old comments and old kudos and I felt like I was cheating. I felt like, if I just continued to just re-update that one then I wouldn't be getting to see the real reactions and such to my new skills. Like...I wouldn't get to showcase my new skills properly if I kept the old comments and stuff...I hope this is making sense.... Anyway, I would still enjoy comments and constructive criticism! :) Please drop_by_the_archive_and_comment to let the author know if you enjoyed their work!
