Words: 21901 ****** Time (The Farm) ****** by HisHeartKiller Summary A story that is still part of my series "Time" but with a different family. This is about Norma Kennedy and Jax Briggs. (Or) After the funeral they went back and packed up. They all decided it was best to just move there. Jax’s daughters were very happy living with Norma on the farm. Bernadette died a few weeks after her husband Buck. A heart attack. A few weeks after that it happened. The dead started to rise and everything was hell from that point on. ***** Introduction ***** Jax knocked on the teacher's door and saw a young blond woman in a yellow sundress cleaning off paintbrushes. “Excuse me, You Mrs. Tyler?” He asked. “No, I’m, Miss Kennedy but everyone just calls me Norma.” She had a hint of a sweet country accent. “Mrs. Tyler had to leave but she told me that you were coming. You’re Mr. Briggs, right?” She asked. “Jax.” He shook her hand. “What's this about? Kenz do something wrong?” “No, not at all.” She offered him a chair. “We want to display her art in a charity gallery but she won't approve. Mrs. Tyler wanted to try and convince you to talk to her about it.” “If she don't want you to, I aint gonna make her.” He stated. “Have you seen her work?” Norma asked. Jax shook his head no, “Give me a minute.” Norma walked to the other room and pushed out a cart that had 8 canvases on it, of different sizes. They all looked different. One was a portrait of playground. Two were of animals at a local rescue and the fourth was a self portrait of his 14 year old daughter. The rest were abstract pieces, a star compilation and a few random things. “She did that?” He asked. He thought it was just the self portrait. “She did all of them.” He was amazed. He didn't know she could. They heard a knock at the classroom door, an angry knock. Norma looked over and saw her ex. “I’m sorry I’ll be right back.” She answered and Jax looked over. The two were angry and yelled. She opened the door and triplet girls ran in. “I’m sorry. These are my daughters.” They looked about 4. They each had dresses on that matched the color of flowers they had in their hair. “I get it. I have two psychotic ex’s.” He had 2 teenage daughters by two different mothers. Norma giggled. “But did yours dump you after 2 months into having triplets. And than can't even watch them for two hours a week.” She said sarcastically. “Sounds like a dick.” He saw the kids. “Sorry, jerk.” He corrected. “Yeah he is.” She wanted to change the subject. “Anyway, I really think you should talk to Mackenzie, She has talent and I would love to see her go farther.” “I’ll talk to her.” He said. “Your lucky you met me by the way. Mrs. Tyler would have yelled at you like drill sergeant till you gave her, her way.” She giggled. “I don't give in easy.” Jax joked. “Yeah, I can tell.” She smiled as he left. “Now girls, please calm down.” They were running around the classroom. “We’ll go home and than you can paint with mommy.” She tried to get them to calm down. Norma was rushing the kids out of the school and tried to get them in the minivan. She saw Jex getting on his bike. “Sarah, listen to me. Sarah.” Norma yelled when she almost ran in the street. Jax drove the motorcycle to her. “Need help?” He asked. “Please.” She was overwhelmed. He helped get the girls in the car seats and she strapped them in. “Thank you.” He looked and saw the canvas in the front seat. It was a beautiful portrait of the three girls. He didn't say anything about it though. “Your welcome.” He left. Norma took a deep breath and heard her girls screaming and playing in their seats. She put the tv on in the car and let them watch Monsters Inc. ~~~ A few days later she saw Jax again at an art gallery that displayed his daughter's work. Jax saw her too but when she wasn't looking. “Mackenzie,” Norma rushed over. “All eight  of your pieces have been sold.” She was excited. Mackenzie seemed in shock. “What's going on?” Jax came over and asked. “All eight of your daughters pieces have been sold.” Norma smiled. He was proud of her but didn't know how to respond. “That's really good.” “And so far she's the only one to have everything sold.” She smiled at Jax, the much older man. The rest of that night they had some small talk and by the end Jax asked her out. She agreed. ~~~ They went out that friday. Norma met Jax at his house because his daughters agreed to watch her triplets. “Isnt this like a breach of school rules or something?” Mackenzie asked. Norma smiled. “No, if I graded your work than yes but I don't so no.” “Any rules?” Madison, Jax’s 16 year old daughter, asked. “If Sammi cant hear you have Saddie or Sarah sign for you. And dinner by 6 and nothing sweet at that point. Call if you need anything.” She stated. “Got it.” Jax and Norma left. “Are you sure they can handle the 3, and with Sammi being hearing impaired?” She asked. “Yeah, Madison babysits all the time, she's had like 6 kids at a time. And yes she has babysat deaf kids before” He assured her. “So where are we going?” She asked. “Depends, bike or truck?” He asked. She was a little wild women. “Bike.” She wickedly smiled at him. They went to a dinner that most bikers frequented. Jax wanted to impress her but this was the fanciest place he knew. He felt the whole night just went horrible. He made a fool of himself, found out she was only 21 and he was 45. And he got into a small fight with a guy in a biker club. Norma enjoyed the whole night. She didn't mind the age difference. Jax defended her honor by fighting with that man when he said “I’d love to slide in that fine country ass.”Norma liked all the goofy things he did. She found it cute when he blushed from embarrassment. They got on Jax’s bike and went back to the house. Before going inside she asked him. “What's wrong?” “Tonight was a disaster.” He admitted. “I don't think so. It was-” She thought of a word. “entertaining.” She smiled. “I took you to a biker bar.” He stated. “I liked it.” She assured him. “Lets do this again?” She asked. “Yeah, okay.” He said. He looked at her for a minute and he knew what to do. He leaned down to kiss her and she kissed him back. The animal in him wanted to take over but he wasn't sure if he could. He tested the waters and eased his hand down to her ass with a firm grip. “Mmmm.” She hummed and pulled away. “Save that for the third date.” He chuckled. “Yes ma’am.” “I’ve got to get my girls home, it’s late.” It was almost 12am. “Yeah, I actually gotta get to work in like 5 hours.” He was a delivery service sorter. He sorted boxes and put them in trucks. She kissed him once more and made it passionate. “Good like sleeping.” She teased. They opened the door and saw all the kids still wide awake. “Ready to go home?” She asked her girls. “No!” The girls shouted still happy and playing but Norma had to get them home. Jax helped them out and she left that night. They dated for a year before the end. A few months before it happened Jax was ready to make a big move. They were having dinner at Norma’s apartment. Her triplets were spending the week with her parents in Georgia. They like to have the girls every once in awhile to help their daughter out. She is the baby of the family so they needed to help her. “Quiet without the girls.” Jax said. “Yeah I hate it.” She told him. “They drive me crazy but I hate not having them.” “You get them tomorrow right?” He asked. “Yes.” “So, I have a question.” He was nervous. He felt his jeans pocket and it wasn't there. “Fuck, hold on.” He went to his jack and found it. It was a small box. She couldn't see it though. “What is is?” He came over to her at the table. He didn't know how to ask it. “Jax?” He put the box on the table and saw. It was a ring box. She opened it. It was beautiful. It was a basic band with two small diamonds and a large one in the middle. “Is this what I think it is?” “Yeah.” She didn't respond just looked at the ring. “You gonna answer?” He asked nervously. “You didn't ask anything.” She teased. “Will you marry me?” He asked. “Yes.” She wanted to cry but didn't. They made love again that night. She let him get rough, not to bad just rough grips and growls. She loved it. Norma invited him to go with her. It was summer so Jex said yes and brought  his daughters. He was on a two week vacation so it was perfect timing. They drove over 20 hours from New York to Georgia. They made it to the Kennedy Farm. They had a few horses and a full fruit and vegetable garden. They didn't have any other livestock except chickens. As they got older it was harder to keep up with. “Can I ride the horses?!” McKenzie asked excitedly “Of course.” Norma said from the driver's seat. She pulled into a drive way and parked. She saw her girl rush to her from the porch. “Momma!” They screamed and rain to her. “Who are these pretty ladies?” Norma’s mother asked. “Momma, daddy, this is Jax my fiance and his daughters Madison and Mackenzie.” They were a little shocked at how old Jax was but that was it. “It’s nice to meet you all, dinner will be done by 6. Feel free to explore a little. You can call me Bernadette or Nanna, it’s up to you.” She looked to the young girls and Jax.   “Can I ride one of the horses?” Mackenzie meekly asked. “The stable workers are back there, go ahead.” Bernadette said. Norma noticed her father was very quiet. “Everything okay daddy?” “He’s old.” He stated, right in front of Jax. “I know.” She said. “He’s a gentlemen though.” He didn't respond and went inside. “You didn't tell him my age?” Jax asked. “I didn't think it was important.” “Mommy, can I ride the horses?” Sarah asked. “Yes baby, let's go.” They all went over to the stables. Jax carried Sammi. Maddison and Saddie raced to the stables. Norma hold Sarah but Sarah wiggled out of her arms when they got close. Sammi took a liking to Jax. They are both shy and embarrass easily. Sammi is quiet and so is Jax. They just bonded. They found Makenzie chatting with the stable worker. John Abraham. He’s 17 a real smooth talker. Jax got angry. This guy was flirting with his daughter. “What's going on here?” “Just telling her about the horses and seeing which one she would like to ride.” The man spoke. “Is that it?” He asked. “Jax.” Norma tried to get his attention. “We got it from here.” “I’m not allowed to leave the stables.” John stuttered frighteningly. Jax was intimidating. “It’s okay, John, we’ve got it.” Norma said and he rushed out. She looked to Jax. “Johns gay.” She laughed. “Oh.” He was only slightly embarrassed They had a pretty good day. Each girl got to ride the horses. Jax had never been on one before. He got on behind Norma and they went for a stroll with the teen girls watch the triplets. It was such a good night. They went in and ate dinner and Bernadette started telling them about their plans after the kids went to bed. Her husband, Buck, wasn't in the best health. They all knew he wasn't going to be around much longer. He had severe heart problems and have recently had 2 strokes. She wanted to leave the farm to Norma in the living will when she went to live in a retirement home after her husband's passing. Not her siblings. She had to talk to Jax first though. “I want to marry you and have a family but this is my farm, my family. I can't just let my brothers destroy it.” Norma told him. “I would love to move out here but I wouldn't have a job. I have my daughters, still in school.” He told her. “The farm has many buyers, you would make more than you do now, we both would.” She told him. “The girls?” He asked. “I don't know, there are schools near by.” She said. “But I can't ask them to leave their friends.” She didn't know what to say. She loves Jax so much. But this is her family. “I don't know what to say either.” Jax said. “We just got engaged.” They didn't know that the girls were listening. “I don't want to lose you.” Norma cried. He didn't know how to respond. He put his arms around her to comfort her. “I really like Norma but I don't want to leave my friends.” Makenzie said. “I don't really like my school so I don't care.” Maddison said.”Would be nice to live here though, Have horses and chickens. Would mean a lot to dad. I’ve never seen him this happy.” They rushed back to their room when they saw Norma and Jax get up. The girls walked to Normas old bedroom. She had bunk beds in her rooms. One for her and  one for her older sister, Nancey. Nancey died at 18 from a car crash. Norma was 17. They never changed the room though. Norma had went to bed and Jax knocked on the door. “You girls okay?” “Yeah.” They said. “I saw yous listenin.” He stated. “What do you think?” “They have a mall and movie theater.” Madison stated. “I don't really have friends where we live. So I don't care.” “I don't know.” Mackenzie said. “Just think about it.” Jax asked. They all went back to New York, they talked and figured it out. Norma would go down first. Help her mother. If the school year had started Jax would let his girls finish the year but that didn't happen. Not a week later. Bernadette called. Normas father died. They all went up together and stayed there. After the funeral they went back and packed up. They all decided it was best to just move there. Jax’s daughters were very happy living with Norma on the farm. Bernadette died a few weeks after her husband Buck. A heart attack. A few weeks after that it happened. The dead started to rise and everything was hell from that point on. “Hows the girls?” Jax asked when he got back from a supply run. “All fine, hiding in the basement. How bad it is out there?” She worried. “Very bad. The few we’ve had come this way are nothing compared to what's actually out there.” He warned her. “You didn't get hurt right?” “No.” He promised. “I have to get the chickens feed and the horses feed.” Norma stated. “I’ll go with.” He told her. They felt safe leaving the kids in the house. “I’ll just let the kids know what we’re doing.” Norma told him. She checked on the girls in the basement. “Why don't you come up and put a movie on, keep the doors locked and if you see anything rush back down okay?” Norma offered. “Yeah, okay.” Madison said. They brought the girls up and put them in their room to watch a kids movie. The girls went to the living room and watched a tv show they had the DVDs too. Norma and Jax first went out to the horses they were closest to the house. The stable had 8 horses and two empty pens. “Let the boys out first, let them run the tract. Just be in front and they’ll follow you. I’ll fill their bowls and food.” Norma told him. The horses were all well trained. Buck spent his whole life training horses. Norma started to fill the empty bowls and clean the cages. By the time she as finished the horses had finished the course. “Females now.” Norma walked the course with the females and Jax cleaned. They finished and headed to the chickens. They had a large chicken coop, a barn with a coop surrounding it. They also had a chicken coop they used for rabbit's. It was empty now though. “You feed the hens, I’ll get the roosters.” Norma said. “You want me to get the roosters?” Jax asked. They were more aggressive. “No, Mr. Peckers hates you.” She giggled and reminded him. Mr.Peckers was breaking all bounders by living to age 11. He was Bucks favorite, because he as a grumpy old man as well. They finished what they were doing and headed back to the house. They saw it though. The dead coming up to the gates. They were at a distance but they still worried. It was only 3 of the, “I’ll get them. Get in the house.” He slightly demanded. He grabbed the axe they had nearby and rushed to the fences. He quickly killed the three and hadn't seen any others. He drug the bodies to a ditch they dug a few weeks back. It had 4 other bodies inside. It stunk worse than anything but they didn't know what else to do. He pulled the tarp back over the ditch and headed back to Norma. “Are you okay?” She asked. “Yes.” He promised her. “I’ll go get the chicken ready for dinner.” Jax said. Norma had sowed him how. “Can I learn?” Madison asked. Jax wasn't sure. “I learned at 10.” Norma said “But it's gruesome sweety. You might not want to watch.” “I think we should learn just in case.” Madison stated. “Fine, if you get traumatized it's your fault.” Jax told his daughter. She followed him out. “Kenz, can you check on the girls for me?” She asked. Kenz nodded and headed up. Norma took a deep breath. She was scared but couldn't show anyone. Before she knew it she heard a rumbling. She recognized the sound. It was a motorcycle. She looked out the window and saw her brothers at a distance. ***** Family. ***** Norma loved her family but her brothers were assholes. They didn't care about anything but it was trying a shock to see them now.  She rushed out her kitchen and ran to the gates. Jax and came over. "Who are they?" Jax asked.  "My brothers." She stated. They didn't go to either parents funeral so Jax wouldn't know what they looked like.  "Norma!" Bucky smiled as he got off his motorcycle. His girlfriend was behind him.  "What do you doing here?" She asked.  "Aint you heard, worlds ended. Need some place safe to stay." Bucky Jr stated.  "Thought you might be dead." Norma stated.  "Aint dead yet." Steve grunted. Him and Bucky look almost like twins.  "You gonna let us in." Jill, Buckys wife asked.  "No." Jax stated.  "I dont know you." Bucky said.  "He's my husband." Not yet, but she thought of him as it.  "Damn Tiny got married." Bucky joked. "Let us in before the Zs come." "Zs?" Norma asked.  "Z as in Zombie." Jill clarified.  "Now come on." Steve stated. Norma moved aside and let the three come in.  "Dad, who are they?" Madison asked.  "Normas brothers."  "Theres only one extra room." Norma stated. "I'm not feeding any of you, your not touching my chickens. You want food you get your asses out and look for it Or you do your part, dont start shit. Respect my house and family and you can eat my food." "Deal." Jill said. "I need a shower."  "You three can share Steves old room. Both boys beds are in there anyway." Norma said.  "I'll get the chicken ready." Jax told her.  "Oh yeah, how did Madison react?"  "Scared at first but not bad." Jax admitted.  "Thats actually pretty good. I had a panic attack my first time watching."  She remembered.  He was shocked, it seemed to not vase her now. He had to leave the kitchen to get the chicken ready.  ~~~ Dinner was done. "Dinner!" Norma shouted up stairs.  They had a rule. You eat together.  Norma made a chicken shreds with scrambled eggs and rice.  "So whats it like out there?" Madison asked.  "Nothing for you to worry about." Norma said.  "They should be worried though." Jill stated.  "No, their safe here." Norma rebuttaled.  "Their not though, what if Zs make their way here. Those girls need to know whats out there." Jill got angry.  Norma swiftly stood from the table. "If you want to yell or tell me how to raise my family you can get the hell out of my house!"  They looked at Jax as if he was the voice of reason. "Her house, her rules." Jax stated.  "Fine but when your girls get ripped apart by...." "Get out!" Norma yelled.  "What?" Bucky jr. asked.  "Get her out of my house!" She yelled.  "Calm down!" Bucky jr. yelled. "She'll shut up, She wont say anything else."  "Dont tell me what I wont do. Shes lucky her little ass wasnt out there!" Jill shouted.  "Shut up!" Jax yelled. "You come to our house and start yelling and trying to scare our kids and expect your ass not to get thrown out like last nights trash. You're a disrespectful little bitch. Get the fuck out!" He yelled.  Norma supported him.  "Tiny, it's bad out there. Really bad. And yes Jill is a bitch but you can send her back out there. It's truly hell." Steve pleaded.  "Your not gonna sit here and call me a bitch!" Jill yelled.  "Calm your wife down!" Steve shouted at him.  "Girls, go upstairs and take your plates please." Norma calmingly asked.  The teenagers looked at their father. "Go." He said.  The teens helped the little ones upstairs.  "Fuck you! Fuck this place! I hope you all get eaten! I hope you have to watch as your little girls get torn..." Norma punched her in the face.  "I cant help her now." Steve stated. "Thats how she got us kicked out of our last place, her big fucking mouth!" "We're not leaving, this is my home too!" Bucky yelled.  "It's not! It's hers!" Jax stood behind Norma in support. "I've seen whats out there. I dont want to send you to your death but I dont like you so I dont fucking care. Get out!" He ordered.  "You cant kick us out." Bucky pulled Jill onto his lap. They both had a disturbing smirk on their face.  "Get out!" Norma yelled.  They just sat there and smirked.  "Bucky calm your fucking wife or she has to go." Steve stated. "Shes not going to ruin this place like she did the rescue center or the bar or the fucking gas station." He clarified. "This is Normas house, she has to go."  "This was my house first, isnt it first born gets the house? That little bitch is like 4th in line."  Jax grabbed Bucky from his long blond hair and pulled him out of the chair dropping Jill on the floor. "Call my wife a bitch again!" He yelled. He drug him to the front door and pushed him out.  Jill turned to see Norma holding a knife to her back. "Your turn." She demanded.  She headed to the door with Bucky. "I'll fucking burn this place to the ground!" She yelled.  "Try it and I'll burn you alive!" Norma fought back. Jax was a little shocked at her saying that. "You dont threaten my family."  They watched Bucky and and Jill storm out on Buckys 1998 suzuki marauder. Going right through the wooden gates.  "Mother fucker." Jax stated. "I'll fix it." "I'll help." Steve offered.  "I'll check on the girls." Norma said.  She went upstairs and saw the girls sitting in Madison and Mackenzie room. "Are you okay?" she spoke with her hands using ASL, it was nautral, half the time she didn't know she was doing it now.  "Where'd they go?" Madison asked.  "They had to leave, they were disrespectful." Norma stated.  "But it's not safe out there." Mackenzie said.  "No, its not. But They did this to themselves. According to Steve they got themselves kicked out of several other places. Their not good people. They never have been."  "What did they do?" Madison asked.  "Bad things. They hurt people. They dont care about any one but themselves." She wanted to tell them something bad but not to the little ones. "Come in the hallway please." The teens came out.  "Jill and Bucky have had major issues. Their bad. They drove drunk picked my sister up at a roller rink and crashed the car, killing her and her best friend." The girls looked shocked. "That's the least of the terrible things they've done."  "Are you serious?" Kenz asked.  "Yes. They weren't even at my parents funerals or my sisters. Thats why my mother wanted my to have this farm so bad." "What about Steve?" Madison asked.  "Steve wasnt a farmer, he's not a bad guy either. He's just kinda neutral." She clarified.  ~~~ Steve had some wood. Jax had the nails and hammers.  They made it to the fence. "Will they burn this place?" Jax asked.  "I doubt it. They make that threat every time they get kicked out. Never did anything." Steve stated. "They are like bombs with their attitudes but pussies in action. We tried to make it work in this dive bar few weeks back. They needed people to search for supplies, it was Buckys turn. He threw a tantrum and said he wouldnt leave her. it was her turn to but she pretended to be pregnant. They found out she lied a few days later. They threw a tantrum again and got got kicked out. I went with because their like kids. They need to be watched. I cant do it anymore though." Steve admitted as they fixed the gate. "When'd you and Tiny get married?"  "Aint married yet. I proposed before her father died. Then everything happened." He told her.  "I saw Sammi talking with her hands at dinner and the hearing aid, is she deaf?" He asked.  "Hearing impaired. The one ear is completely deaf the other is weak. She got a head injury when she was 3 Norma said that caused it."  "Shit, I missed alot." He said.  "Oh yeah." Jax said. They were done and walked towards the house. "Shhh." Jax said when he heard the noises. He turned and saw a group of deadheads coming. Maybe 8. Jax had a knife and so did Steve.  They waited till the deadheads got closer and started to get them right in the head.  "What do you do with the bodies?" Steve asked whipping the blood from his cheek with a bandanna from his pocket. "Theres a ditch." They put the bodies in wagon and pulled it to the ditch. They dropped them in.  "What are you going to do when it gets full?" "Burn it." He stated. ~~~ They went back to the house and Norma was coming down the steps with a stack of empty plates.  "How are the girl?" Jax asked.  "Little ones scared, no body signed for Sammi so shes confused. I told her I was sorry and I had to changed the batteries on her hearing aid. The older girls understand." "How are we on batteries anyway?" Jax asked as he locked the door.  "We have enough for 2 more rounds. Hopefully they last long." She worried.  "What happens when you run out?" Steve asked.  "She can barely hear with the hearing aide. Without, she'll be lucky to hear mumbles." "That's horrible." Steve said. "I'm sorry I wasnt around Norma."  "Its the past, just dont act like Bucky." She warned him.  "Dont worry I wont." He assured her.  They finished eating dinner and cleaned up.  Steve remembered. "The rescue center we were at, its just the town hall but they had a truck loads of medical supplies. probably hearing aid batteries."  "I doubt they would let us take them." Jax stated.  "Probably not but if we trade some fruits and vegetables for medical supplies, that might work." Steve offered.  "We do have a large farm." Norma stated.  "You know how to get there?" Jax asked.  "Yeah, I'll go in the morning." He stated.  "I'll go with you." Jax offered.  "It's fine, I got it." He assured him.  "See I want to be sure your not taking any food to your brother and that bitch, so I'll go with you." Jax explained.  "Fine, no problem." Steve wouldn't, he couldn't help his brother anymore.  Steve went to his old bedroom. It had all boxes and his and Buckys old stuff in it. He didnt care, he was exhausted.  Norma and Jax tucked in the triplets. They each had a separate bed in the room but it was interconnected to a large jungle gym. When they were three their grand father hired a contractor and they built a large jungle gym to sleep in.  Sammi slept inside what the girls called the "Safety Fort number 1." It had her very comfortable bed inside please a table and nightlight. There a ladder that connects to the top so they can go across the rope bridge to "Safty fort number 2" Where Saddie sleeps. Sarah slept on a bed  in a lifted tunnel in the back. Jax and Norma knelt down to the Sammi's bed and slide open the door. Norma said and signed "Goodnight." Jax signed "Goodnight" as well but he wasnt very good and it made Sammi giggle.  She hugged him though and kissed his cheek.  Sammi closed her small door but opened the curtain to the small window before taking out her hearing aids.  Norma and Jax walked to Saddies bed next. "I dont even get a kiss." Norma joked.  They said good night to Saddie. She closed the door and opened the window.  Then they went to Sarah. Her bed was different. It was in the tunnel so she didnt have a door. They looked in the window and said goodnight. They left and closed the door.  They headed to Jax's girls. They were on built in the wall bunk beds.  "Everything okay?" Jax asked.  They nodded. "Are you going to teach us to fight these things?" Madison asked. "I saw the dead that you and Steve killed. What if something happened? How would we protect ourselves?" She angerly asked.  "We'll talk about this in the morning." He stated in a demanding tone.  They left the room.  "Their right though." He admitted.  "I dont want them to see that kind of stuff."  "I know, neither do I but what happens if we get infected. They need to protect themselves and the little ones." He explained as they walked to their bedroom.  He laid on the bed and she climbed on top of him. She long skirt draped over his lower half. She could feel him getting hard through his jeans and pressing against her panties.  "Do we have any?" She asked as she started to grind against his cock.  Jax leaned over and opened the draw. "Fuck." They only had 3 left.  "Lets save them." She sighed.  She went to move but he grabbed her hips.  "What are you doing?" She asked with excitement.  He slid up keeping his hands on her hips. "Just cause I cant put my dick in you doesn't mean we cant have a little fun." He growled. He started to thrust his covered dick against her panties. She began to moan. They didnt want to wake the kids so he reached his one hand up and kept her quiet. He used the other to pull her shirt down and suck on her breast.  "More!" She moaned threw his hand. He continued to thrusted against her causing her to orgasm. He lost it at that point he thrusted harder, wishing he could be inside her, feeling her warm wet body. He came in his jeans.  He let her slip off of him and fall to the side of him.  He wrapped her sweaty body in his arms. "We need condoms." He let out.  "Yes we do."  ***** The Rescue Center. ***** Norma woke up just as the sun rose. Jax not yet. She went down stairs to see Steve already awake.  "Still wake up to the sun rising?" She asked.  "Yeah, you too?" "Yeah." She smiled.  "I'll get some eggs, make breakfast." He offered.  "Scrambled eggs for all the girls."  "Got it." He went out to the chicken coop.  She went upstairs and checked on the children. The triplets were still fast asleep.  The teenagers were just waking up.  "Listen for the little ones for me, I'm gonna take a shower." She asked.  "Got it." Madison stated as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.  Norma grabbed clothes from her dresser. A pair of blue gray jeans, a gray shirt and a light long sleeve tan cardigan.   She pulled her long wavy blond hair into a clip. She washed it yesterday and didnt want to use to much shampoo. She ran the hot water and was truly thankfully they still have running water and lights.  She stripped and got in the shower.  Jax heard the sound of the water and and woke up.  He let Norma enjoy her shower. He knocked on the teens door and they said come in.  "One of you shower, the second is next." He stated.  "Yes captain." Madison teased.  He closed the door and went inside the triplets room. Sammi was awake.  He thought he signed Good Morning.  "No." She said politely and showed him the correct sign. "You said good bye." She spoke and signed. Her speech was only slightly impaired. Just a slight lisp.  He signed "Good morning" correctly now.  He helped her put her hearing aid in.  "Hungry?" He asked. He didnt know how to sign that yet.  She nodded. She came out of the Safety Fort and he lifted her up and gave her a piggy back ride down the stairs.  "Whats for breakfast?" She asked Steve.  "Scrambled eggs." He answered without looking at him so she couldnt really tell what he said.  "Look at her when your talking." Jax said.  "Oh shit, I'm sorry." He turned and said "Scrambled eggs."  "Yummy." She smiled. Jax playfully tossed her on the sofa.  "Careful." Norma warned them playfully as she came down the stairs.  She spoke to Jax. "The other two still asleep?"  "Yes." He kissed her cheek. "Good Morning."  "Morning." She smiled. "When are you to heading out?" She asked.  "I would say after breakfast." Jax said.  "That would be best." Steve said. "Horses, bikes, truck or van?"  "Truck and van dont have gas. Bike's running on fumes." Jax stated.  "So we should try and get gas while we're out just in case." Steve stated.  "Good idea. Take Comet and Dare Devil." She explained. "Dare Devil's still alive?" Steve was shocked. He had to be 30 now. "Well this is Dare Devil the 2nd. Dare Devil the first died a year before my girls were born but he's just as fast as his daddy." She explained. "Damn I really did miss alot." He regretted losing touch with his family. "I'll show the girls how to work the farm today and you'll show them how to survive tonight?" Norma asked. "Sounds good."  Jax stated.  Saddie and Sarah ran down the stairs.  "Eggs! Eggs! Eggs!..." The three girls started to cheer.  "It's ready." Steve said.  Norma translated for Sammi.  Madison came down freshly showered. Her shoulder length brown hair still wet.  "Mackenzie is in there now." She said as she sat at the kitchen island.  They ate and waited until Mackenzie was down and finished eating.  "Today, I'm showing everyone of you how to work the farm. And tonight your dad will show you how to survive." She hesitantly said.  "Hell yeah." Madison said.  "Okay." Mackenzie said.  Jax was ready. They grabbed the horses and saddle bags and loaded them up. Potatoes, apples, corn, lettuce, strawberries, blue berries and a small watermelon. They only had a few growing.  Jax kissed Norma and said goodbye to his girls.  Sammi hated seeing him go. She was so scared he wouldnt come back.  He promised her he would come back.  "Lets go." Jax and Steve climbed on the back of the horses and handed out.  Sammi ran after Dare Devil, the horse Jax was on.  Norma had to lift her to stop her. After Sammi stopped crying. Norma put her down and told her "Daddy will be back." All three little ones already called Jax dad. They made it to the main road.  "This is where we have to be careful." Steve stated. "Up a head a little bit, theres a road full of cars..." "I know. I make runs every couple of days for extra drinks, supplies." Jax said.  "That many people." Steve stated.  "It's depressing." Jax said.  ~~~ "So what first?" Kenz asked.  "Get the rest of the eggs out the coop, but the little ones can do that." She told them. Then she looked at the little ones, they've been helping on the farm since they could walk. "Fill the seed buckets for both the hens and roosters. You can let them into the large pens but be careful not to let them out into the field." She spoke slowly and signed. "Gather all the extra eggs too please."  "Yes momma." They said.  "If you see anything bad hide in the shed until Mommy or your sisters come and get you. But do not leave the chicken area until I say so."  "Yes momma." They said again.  "Now the two of you." They walked and talked. "I dont think you to know how big this land is. Everything we grow has its own area." She expanded her hands and showed them all of the land they had probably seen but never paid attention to. "We're not worrying about that now though, we'll do that when everyone's home." They walked around to the horse stables. "Now its time to show you what to do over here." She explained how to clean the stables, take the horses out and let them run the vigorous obstacle course or run in the designated field. She explained to never ride them on the obstacle course unless they have become very familiar with how they ride. "Do exactly as I showed you. I'm checking on the little ones." ~~~ Jax and Steve passed the road they didnt like to think about. Infected in the cars. Dead in the cars. Infected in the cars. It seemed as if they knew they would turn so they contained themselves.  They sped the horses up and made it into town quicker. Jax didnt even realize that they were going the same way as he went to get supplies except he went right past the town hall.  They stopped in front of the town hall and Jax got off first he used a gun from Normas fathers collection to kill 4 creeps at a distance. It was the only gun they had with a silencer.  Steve knocked on the door while Jax stood watch.  "It's Steve, my brothers gone." No body answered. "Come on, I know your there." He stated. "I'm just looking to trade, we have food."  Bruce opened the door cautiously. The man is 57 acted like a teenager and always seem to have his hair slicked back.  "Steve." He greeted him like a old friend. "What's going on?" "My niece is deaf. We need batteries for her hearing aid, we know you have medical supplies, do you have any?"  "I dont know." Bruce grunted out. His wife came over.  "Steve, what are you doing back?" She asked.  "I need hearing aid batteries. We have fruit and vegetables to trade." He explained.  "You can go through the bins but I dont know what they look like." She stated.  "Jax." Steve called him over.  Jax grabbed the bags of food they packed. "You'll get it when we get the batteries." He refused to hand it over.  "Well come in." Lucy invited.  They went into the town hall. "No lights?" Steve asked.  "Power lines are down. You didnt see that?" A women named Donna asked.  "No." Steve stated.  "Whats that smell?" Jax asked.  "Sewage. The pipes in the basement exploded. I cant even fix them." Donnas husband Steve said.  Jax was looking threw the medical box. Wraps, pads, tape, band aides. "Got them, small box full." He lifted it up and handed the food to Lucy.  "Lets go. We gotta get some shit." Jax headed to the doors.  Steve looked around. This wasnt a place for people to live. This is disgusting. But he couldnt invite people back to the farm without Normas permission. "Be safe." Steve told Lucy.  "Same to you." She told him. They went out the door. Jax killed three infected with the gun as they climbed on the back of the horses.  "What?" Jax looked at Steves face.  "They wont survive there. Look at that place its falling to pieces. They have babies." Jax knew what he was thinking. He was thinking the same thing. "Where would we stick them? We've got 4 bedrooms, all taken. Basement, full of boxes." "I dont know, tents in our yard seem safer then that." He stated.  The people in the rescue  center were watching from the windows. Jax killed to more infected while they talked.  "What would Norma think?" Steve asked.  "If they dont threaten her or our kids, shes fine. We need the help on the farm anyway." He stated. They paused for a minute. "You figure it out with them. I'll get what we need at the farm, meet you back here in-" He thought and looked at his watch. "30 minutes." "Got it." He got off his horse and went back inside. Jax went to the pharmacy near by and came in with his duffel bag. The store was tossed. He looked for and found condoms. He grabbed deodorants. His family needed feminine products. He didnt want to grab them but they were on the list. He was reading the list. "I didnt need to know that." Norma wrote which girl needed what product.  He emptied boxes of tampons and pads in his bag and headed out. He climbed back on the horse and went to a local grocery store. He wasnt looking for food, even if he was they didnt have any, just zip lock bags. Norma needed them for the harvest.  He emptied out 25 boxes in his duffel.  He realized his 30 minutes was almost up and headed towards the town hall.  He saw the horse but not Steve. He lined Dare Devil next to Comet and climbed off. He knocked on the door with the back of his hand. "Steve." He called.  Steve opened the door.  "So whats the plan?" "They cant stay here." He told him. "The flooded basement his filled with infected. The walls are coming down from the neighboring building. Their all about to die." Steve whispered to him.  "How do we get them all there?"  "Bruce has a camper. He and Lucy traveled all the time. And the truck attached. It's an flatbed back. It's a tight squeeze but they'll all fit." Steve stated.  "Lets go then. I gotta get home." Jax told him.  ~~~ After the three little ones had finished in the coop Norma set them up with a movie and finished with the older ones. "Finished?" She asked.  "How do you do this by yourself?" Madison asked.  "I've started when I was 3 with way more animals then we have now." Norma stated.  "It's dark and daddy's not back yet." Mackenzie worried.  "It doesnt mean anything. Go in the house get cleaned up." She stated. As Mackenzie walked ahead Norma grabbed Madison arm. She whispered. "if your daddy aint back by tonight I'm gonna go looking in the morning. I need you to watch the girls." "Are you sure? I dont know what I'm doing." "Whats that?" She saw the head lights coming. "Go in the house, now." She prayed Jax was in that car. It was hard for her to breath. She was thinking someone might hurt her family. Finally she saw Jax on Dare Devil charging in front. He opened the gate and let everyone else in.  "Whats going on?" She asked in worry.  He climbed down off Dare Devil. "These people would have died without our help. Their not staying in the house. They'll help on the farm. If any of them disrespect you or our girls they have to leave." Jax assured her. She looked a little mad. "I have batteries." He pulled the box out of his duffel. "And condoms." He grinned.  "Where are they going to sleep?" She asked.  "Outside, in that camper. They have some tents, others will just have the ground I guess." He said. Norma saw Lucy and Bruce exit the truck.  "Are you Norma?" The women asked.  "Yes." She stated.  "I'm Lucy." Her voice seemed proper, even in the few words she spoke. "I knew your parents. They traded fresh fruits and vegetables for things we would find at flea markets." She told her.  "Ooh, your the lady who got the dining table that has the striped edges. They loved the treasures you would bring back."  "They were great people."  "Thank you." Norma said.  Norma looked around at all the people getting out. They had babies, teenagers, adults. A mix of everything.  "Listen up!" Norma stated. "You can set up your camper infront of the house, tents as well. We have some cabin tents in the basements as well as cots and chairs, Steve and Jax will get them for you." She told them. Jax was next to get. "There should be 4 tents down there. Momma and daddies, Buckys, Steves and mine and Naceys. They're older but they should still be good. Cots and chairs are towards the back where the bathroom is." She explained.  She watched as the new people set up camp.  She spoke loudly. "Heres some things you need to know. You will work the farm, with help of course. You will help with the harvest. And you will get your fair share. You will not take more then given. If you do, you will leave." She spoke so clearly. "One of my daughters is hearing impaired. If any one of you make fun of or hurt her or any of my girls I will feed you to the infected." She wanted to scare them. She didnt want her small size to seem weak. Because she is no where near weak.  She headed into her home.  "Is she serious?" One of the teenagers, Polly, asked her mother.  "I hope not." She clarified.  "Momma!" Sadie yelled when Norma came through the door. "Who are these people?"  "Hopefully new friends." She stated. "Wheres Sammi?"  "Downstairs with dad." Madison stated from the kitchen. "Are we eating anytime soon?"  "I'll make dinner now." She stated.  Norma went through her thankfully fully stocked cabinets.  She grabbed two packs of tortilla shells she had in the cabinets. 30 shells to a pack.  She saw Jax coming back in the house. "How many people do we have now?"  "I'll count." Steve said as he was heading back out with the two folded cots.  As Steve counted she went in the fridge and grabbed the left over chicken shreds, tomatoes, cheese powder and water bottles.  "Theres 51 people, including your kids." Steve said. "Wow." She didnt know what to do. She heard a knock on the back, sliding door. It was Lucy.  "Yes?" Norma asked.  "Steve said you were making dinner for us, would you like help?"  "Yes." She admitted.  "I love the kitchen." She came over. "What are we making?"  "A type of quesadilla I guess. I have powdered cheese, tomatoes, and chicken shreds."  ~~~ They cooked exactly 51 quesadillas. Norma handed the food to her daughters.  "Sammi still with Jax?"  "Yeah." Madison asked.  She went outside to look for them while everyone collected their dinner.  She found them in the stables. "What are yous doing?" She asked.  "She wanted to ride the horses. I thought a small ride on Slacker would be fine." He was about to climb up behind her.  "Yeah but dinners done." "After the ride momma." Sammi whimpered. Norma didnt want to give in. "Please." She signed but didnt say anything.  "Okay. Quickly." She told Jax as he climbed up behind his daughter.  Norma went out and saw the tents and camper set up. "Is there enough tents?" She asked Lucy?  "A squeeze but yes." Lucy stated.   "When we were coming in I saw so many different types of fruits, how is that possible?" A women named Allison asked.  "My father took pride is growing so many different types of fruits and vegetables. He always wanted coconuts but could not get them to grow." She admitted.  "I use to love coconuts." She told her.  "So did he."  Norma saw Jax and Sammi speeding by on Slacker.  "Why cant we ride the horses?" A teenager from the new group, Bella, grunted.  "Because we just got here, we dont know these people, its dark, you didnt ask. Do you need anymore reasons? Stop being a bitch and appreciate the fact that their letting us stay here." Another teenager named Iris sarcastically stated.  "Dont ruin this." Another young girl named Piper stated.  Norma started handing out bottles of water. She spoke loudly. "Theres a well a few feet away from the house, you can fill your bottles up from there. It's perfectly clean."  "Charlie?" Norma asked.  "Tiny!" He smiled and lifted her in a hug. "It's good to see you." He put her down.  "You too." She smiled. "Your family here too?" She asked.  "Every one." His one older brother, his sister in law, niece, his father and his 5 younger siblings. "What about you?"  "My three daughters, my fiance and his daughters. Oh and Steve." Steve and him were best friends.  "I know, he's why we're here. Jax is your fiance." He just put it together. "I havent seen you in forever." He stated.  "I know, I thought I would see everyone again at the Harvest Festival." She admitted.  "Thats why we all came back, to help with the Harvest Festival. Everyone moved back to Philly accept Jay, Liam and Dorris. Everyone came back to help and this shit happened."  "I know the feeling." She said.  She saw Jax and Sammi coming back. Jax stopped in front  of her. He passed Sammi down to her. "She's very tired." Sammi could barely keep her eyes open.  "I know, she's been crying over you all day. Shes exhausted. I wish she would have eaten though." Norma stated.  "Make sure she eats more at breakfast." Jax said. He road Slacker back to the stables.  "Is this your little one?" Jay asked.  "One of." She said. "I'm gonna take her to bed. Have a goodnight." She walked back in the house carrying her daughter.  She went in and Mackenzie looked worried. "Whats wrong?"  "All these people. Are they safe?" "I know some of them, I hope they all are though. Tell me if you feel uncomfortable though okay?" "Okay." She said. Norma tucked her daughter into her bed and went downstairs. "Everyone done?" She asked. "Yes." The little ones stated.  "Well then it's time to get changed and go to bed." She pointed up the stairs. They left their plates and headed up. "If you girls want you can go outside, get to know the knew people. Some of them might have been your future classmates." She told them.  "Alright." They said.  "I showed the knew people the out door bathrooms, told them everything is fully functional." Steve stated as he came in.  "Alright."  "I'm gonna sleep down here tonight, keep an eye on things." She understood. "You got any of dads guns?" He wondered.  "All of them, why?" She worried.  "Just in case, keep one close." He stated.  "Got it." She trusted her big brother, mostly.  She looked over and saw Jax sitting on the porch outside the kitchen doors.  "Whats wrong?" She came out.  "Nothing, just watching the girls." He nodded to Mackenzie flirting with a boy and Madison with a group of girls. "Hows the little ones?"  "Sammi's asleep, Sadie and Sarah just went up."  "You take her hearing aid out?" He asked.  She smiled at how concerned he was. "Of course."  After a few minutes Norma said. "Hey, work starts at sunrise so you might want to get some sleep now." She waited and started to see people turning in. Then her girls came in.  Norma went upstairs and Jax soon followed.  Norma changed into pants and a tank top.  Jax just pulled his shirt and jeans off. She loved the fact that he had her name on his chest.  But to be fair they both were very drunk when he got it. Normas parents had her girls for the week and Jax's girls were spending the weekend at a sleep over so Norma and Jax went to a biker bar.  They drank, alot. Jax was really good friends with the owner and everyone there. After it closed they played a poker game but not for cash. Every man was practically naked and Norma was almost completely dressed. She was missing her heels and tshirt. The game ended with three other men being fully naked and Jax about to loose his underwear, Norma still mostly dressed when they noticed a man named Jack pull out his tattoo machine. Next thing they knew he woke up with Norma on his chest.  "Do you ever regret that?" She asked as she climbed on the bed with him.  "Never." He told her.  "I cant believe how drunk we were that day." She admitted.  "Oh yeah, how else would you get that terrible tattoo on your shoulder." He chuckled.  She looked shock. "I love my tattoo." She said.  "It's watercolor dreamcatcher."  "And its amazing." She stated.  "Then why do you cover it up?" He playfully retorted.  "Because... Because its on my shoulder blade and its hard to not cover up." She thought of an excuses.  Honestly she didnt want her little ones to see.  "Yeah yeah." He chuckled.  She went to cuddle in his side. "Oh no!" She pulled away. "Go get a shower."  "What?" "I love you, and I love your musky smell but not your under arms." She shook her head.  "Shower with me?" He offered.  "Yes sir." They ran into the bathroom that was connected to their room and stripped what little clothes they had on. They were kissing passionately and he lifted her up. His hands on her bare ass. He climbed in the shower with her he let her legs down and they turned the water on. They started to clean each other in between kisses. He pushed her against the wall lifted her legs around him ounce more. She moaned out as she felt his cock aching to be inside her. "Inside me!" She cried out.  He reached one hand down and grabbed his hard cock. "Yeah, you want it?" He said with such lust all Norma could do was nod and moan.  He slide inside her started pounding her into the shower wall.  He wasnt stopping.  Her nails dug into his back and he pounded her harder.  Then she felt it. She knew what it was. She just froze. He didnt even realize at first.  "You came in me." She stated.  He looked shocked.  "I didnt mean to." He pulled out and she felt his cum spill down her leg. "It was only once, it should be fine." He could see her worrying.  "We cant have a baby." She stated.  "It's gonna be fine. I promise." He assured her.  "We need to just get clean now."    ***** The Harvest. ***** Norma woke to the sunrise. She didnt need a shower. She went to check on her daughters. The little ones were still fast asleep. Norma opened the curtians to let them wake up naturally.  Norma went downstairs and saw Steve already cooking.  "Scrambled eggs for everyone." He started making more. "I put 3 roosters in the breeding den, with three hens. I'll take the roosters out in a couple days and hopefully well have some more chicks soon."  "I was going to do that." She stated.  "I know I saw your list." He teased and pointed to the fridge.  "#1 breed the hens. #2 Cook breakfast. #3 Wake up everyone. #4... Show your brother whats on your back!" He said when she turned. She was wearing a thin strapped camisole.  "A fun drunk mistake." She smiled. "But I dont regret it." "Tiny aint so innocent anymore." He chuckled. "Tiny hasnt been innocent since she got knocked up at 17." She laughed. "Thats true. There should be enough scrambled eggs now." He said.  "I'll wake up mine, you wake up them." She teased. She rushed up stairs and started knocking on doors. "Wake up time!" She shouted. She knew Sammi wouldnt hear her but her sisters would wake her up. "Come on breakfast!" She stated. "We get it." Madison stated as she sleepily opened her door.  "To loud." Jax joked as he left the room.  "Wow, whats that?" Madison saw Normas back.  "I'm not hiding anything." Norma said happily.  "Your in a good mood." Jax said as he wrapped his muscular arms around her. She kissed him.  He didnt want to let her go.  "keep that shirt off, its making me horny." She quietly said to him with a growl.  "You gonna ride me like a cow girl?" He asked with lust.  "Ohh god yes." She wanted to push him on the floor and ride him right there but she had to feed her daughters.  "Mommy!" Sammi scream. Normas stomached dropped and ran to her daughter, non intentionally pushing Jax to the floor. She opened the door and saw Sammi looking out the window. Norma rushed over and saw what she was looking at. She grabbed Sammis attention and told her. "Go in the basement, all of you now!" She ordered. "Jax! Theres in a group of infected coming to the front gates! Get all the kids in the basement now!" She ordered. Norma went in her room, which use to be her parents. She pulled out the gun safe and unlocked it using the key she kept in the bedside table. Five riffles, Five shot guns, two hand guns, four machetes and two small knives. Plus all the rounds and shells they could ask for. She closed it and brought the heavy case downstairs. Before doing anything she pulled on Jax's hoodie.  "Who can shoot?" She asked the new people. "If you can shoot it, grab it." She stated.  Jax had his hand gun with a silencer.  Steve grabbed the riffle.  Bruce grabbed the shotgun.  Norma grabbed the riffle.  A man named Marcus grabbed a machete.  Lucy grabbed a riffle.  Bruces son Dustin and Lucys son Liam grabbed the shot guns.  A man named Jesse grabbed a shotgun as did his wife Rebecca.  The O'Neil Family all had guns of their own. An Irish blooded family of 9 with violent tendencies.   They assumed everyone else went into the basement of Normas home.  The group of infected was at least 80 people. It was overwhelming.  "Get in the house with the kids." Jax told Norma as they rushed to the gates.  "No. I'm protecting my family." She told him.  The fence broke. The shots were being fired and bodies were falling.  Norma is an amazing shot. She killed 4 infected within minutes. Nothing was getting close to her.  "Fuck!" They heard screaming coming from a cabin tent.  "Are you kidding me?!" Jax yelled. He ran towards the tent now surrounded by infected and started shooting. Norma rushed over as well. It was to close to her home. She killed four but one undead man grabbed her. She dropped and released from its grip. Jax thought she was dead. He shot the infected man and ran to her, not worrying about anything else.  "I'm fine, kill them." She stated. She was so grateful she put a hoodie on. It stopped the man from scratching her.  Jax killed the eight infected surrounding the tents, plus the four inside eating the bodies of the five teen inside.  The gun shots were screaming the children inside. Sammi could hear pops that frightened her. She tried to run up the stairs for her mommy and daddy but Madison held her tight and wouldnt let her go.  The time felt like hours for the people killing the infected. It seemed the dead were dropping but not staying down. People arent hitting the heads.  "Head shots!" Norma yelled.  "Help!" Dustin was surrounded and devoured by the infected.   Bruce and Lucy rushed over and started to shoot the infected. That was Bruces son. He lost it.  His son was dead now.  But they couldnt think. It was time to fight.  There werent many left. Steve and Jax handled them.  "Get rid of the bodies! Burry ours and ditch the rest. We burn the ditches today." Norma told Jax. "Becky and Jesse serve breakfast to the people in the basement, including yourself. "Did any get near the plants?" She looked around. "No, they were to distracted with us." Marcus said.  "We'll do the harvest later. After everything is clean." Normas stated. She was disgusted with the world. She went in the house and saw some of the plats had gone. She went upstairs and stripped of Jaxs hoodie. She saw faint red marks from where the man had grabbed her but the skin wasn't broken. She broke down and cried against her bedroom door. She was inches away from losing her family. Inches away from leaving her daughters and Jax. Leaving them in this world, scared and defenseless. Norma had to breath. She was so panicked. It was hard to breath. She heard a knock at the door.  "Norma." Jax said.  She opened the door and he grabbed her.  "It almost got me." She cried.  He looked her and glanced over her body with his eyes. He saw the red marks on her shoulder.  "Are you okay?" He worried.  "No skin is broken." She told him. "I'm gonna get changed so no one sees them and worries." She headed to the dresser and grabbed a long sleeve round neck plain blue shirt. "We have to do wash." She told him.  "It'll get done." He told her. She was shakin up. Jax held her for a minute.  She pulled away and said. "There's a hardware store opposite to town. We need more fencing, higher and stronger. I'm good on the farm with small fences. I dont know how to make the big ones..." He didnt let her finish.  "I know what your thinking."  "Can we do it? We cant let Sammi or any of them see that again." She worried.  "Okay, promise. After the harvest..." "No, now." She stated.  "We need to do the harvest." He reminded her.  "I know. Some will. We have a new batch of teens, daddy hired teens all the time. It's easy. Some will get new fences, make this place, our home safe."  "Okay, I'll talk to some people. See what we can do." Jax told her.  "Okay." She said. "Get trailers for the people outside, something more comfortable, the sheds at home depot the big ones." She said.  "We'll figure it out." He promised. "Go make sure the girls are okay." He asked.  Norma went downstairs and went into her basement. "Hows everyone?" She asked as they were eating their breakfast.  "Momma!" Sammi put her plat down and ran to her.  "I got you." She held her. "We are still doing the harvest today." She said loudly.  ~~~ Jax went back outside and talked to Steve. "Our bodies are burred. We dug other ditch, near the other one and lit them both up."  "I know I can smell it." The ditches were on the opposite side of the road, far from camp, but the smell was strong.  "Norma wants us to run to some hardware store and get larger gates to make this place safer." "Hunks Hardware." Steve said. "I worked there for a few years. They would have everything we need. Plus the feed stores up that way, we can stock up."  "So you think its a good idea?" Jax asked.  "Yeah, a few of us. I'll go since I know where its at." He stated.  "Are you sure you and her arent the same person?" Jax asked sarcastically.  "Ha ha ha." Steve chuckled sarcastically.  The field was mostly clean. The bodies were gone.  "Go eat, then were all having a meeting." Jax stated to everyone.  ~~~ They all finished eating and cleaning up by 10 am. Jax and Norma gathered everyone in the living room. Norma signed while Jax spoke.  "Norma wants to make this place safe. We need larger gates. We dont want what happened this morning to happen again. Steve and anyone else who volunteers to go will go to Hanks Hardware and get the supplies we need. Everyone else who isnt under the age of 10 will do the harvest."  "Anyone going with Steve will be leaving now, on horse back."  The room was quiet for a minute.  "I'll go, if we take the truck we can more quicker."  Lucy stated. "Bruce is coming to." She volunteered her husband. He needed the distraction.  "I'll go." Travis O'Neil said. His beautiful wife was draped over his shoulders. She had half of her head shaved with long blond hair down the opposite side. She has burns on that side of her head. The hair just wont grow. She kissed his cheek and said. "You die on me, I'll hunt down your corpse and make sure you stay dead." She assured.  "Good." Thats what he wanted.  "Everyone else, it's harvest time." Norma stated.  "I have small children I cant do that." Donna said.  "The twins fine but the others can easily help." Norma stated about the 1 year old twin boys. "You can even get on horse back with the little ones and still help. We have baby safety saddles. My girls have been on horse back since they were born. Or put them in a stroller, I have plenty." Norma sated. She wasnt dealing with slackers.  "Calm down feisty." Jax joked.  "4 people are going to get supplies." They were getting ready. "The triplets are going to get the eggs from the coop. Then come in and watch a movie. Theres 38 people left. 19 people on each side. I dont care who goes where. After you have filled 5 baskets a person your done. Tree grown foods are on the left others are on the right. If your doing a tree. Use a horse or latter. If you never picked fruit on a horse get a latter we have several." She instructed. "I'll show you once how to do things, if you need help i will help you and the O'Neils have worked for my father before so they knew what to do. If you see them ask them too. When we are done, I'll show you how to blanch the foods so we can freeze them for weeks to come."  Norma showed every person what to do with different plants and trees. By the end she was already tired.  She worked on the red apple trees. She was on the back of Luna. The tree still was full but she finished her 5 baskets. She actually had to fill up extra baskets for horse treats.  She was the first one done so she cleaned up and feed the horses. She let them out into the field, let them run a little.  She saw her triplets heading in the house with the eggs.  ~~~ Steve was pulling up to Hunks Hardware and found the store broken into. They were able to find a few things. 10 rolls of chain link fences roughly 10 feet tall, poles, caps and wires.  "I found sheets of ply wood. We could make a shed or something, get more people in doors. Or use it as extra gates." Bruce thought aloud.  "Grab it all, might be useful." Steve stated.  Steve and the three others were done. "Feed store next."  Travis looked over. "Whats that?" He saw the trailer.  "Thats a trailer." Steve said sarcastically.  "Ha Ha. I meant look at it."  They walked behind Hanks and saw it attached to a truck. "Thats Hanks trailer." Steve said.  "Nah, i thought it was Phils." Bruce stated sarcastically. The trailer had HANK written in big bold letters on the side.  "Fuck off."  Steve cautiously pulled the trailers door open and looked inside. It was empty, probably had been for a while. It was a little dusty.  "Unhook it from the his truck and hook it onto ours." Lucy stated.  ~~~ "If your done with the baskets, bring them in the house." Norma said from the kitchen window.  "What are you making?" Travis's 18 year old daughter Clair asked.  "Apple sauce. I'm making a few jars to freeze and a few for now." She stated.  "Can I help?"  "Sure. Skin the apples, cute into slices and remove the core." She handed her 4 apples.  "Do all of them. We'll get more tomorrow and make different things. We can make a whole bunch of different things"  ~~~ They grabbed the hay, chick feed. They grabbed traps too. Figured if they found a wild animal, could make a good dinner.  Before leaving Steve said. "I'm gonna talk to Norma, check out the farm thats a few miles out. I'm not even sure who owns it now, use to be the Nicks family but I know Patrick Nicks died not sure if its still up. But they had cows, pigs, few other things. We could use it." Steve stated.  "Why not go now, we're out." Lucy offered.  "It's late, most people are still shakin up from earlier. Plus I really want some of Normas applesauce. I know shes making it. It's amazing." He joked.  "Lets get home then." Bruce said.  ~~~ "Everyone!" Norma invited everyone in the house. "Please sit anywhere. I made applesauce. Sounds silly but its amazing. I don't have a lot of cinnamon, so I only made half with and half without. Please help yourself." She had two large bowls of applesauce and several stacks of Styrofoam bowls with plastic spoons near by.  She watched as everyone enjoyed the applesauce. She was happy.  Norma tapped on Madison's shoulder. "Keep an eye on the girls?"  "Okay." She said.  Norma looked at Jax. She gestured him to follower her up the stairs.  "Whats up?" He wondered when they made it up the steps.  "I just wanted to hear nothing for a few minutes." She admitted.  "I like the quiet too." He told her.  "Today was terrible. I just wanted a minute with you in peace."  He wrapped his arms around her. She rested her head on his chest.  "We have alot of work to come the next couple of weeks." She told him.  "Shh. Just enjoy the quiet." He kissed her head.  ~~~ The quiet didnt last long though. It wasnt bad, they could hear the people downstairs, laughing and joking.  "Lets get back down." She pulled away from him a little.  "Hows your shoulder?" She pulled the collar down and showed him the marks had gone. "Good."  ~~~ Steve and his crew came back.  After that day they started building the fence.  Six people worked on the fence while the rest worked on the harvest.  ~~~ A week had gone and they needed more fencing and the harvest was almost done.  "So whats the plan?" Norma asked.  "We're gonna go back back into town, find some ply wood and two by fours. Maybe build a few safety sheds. Grab trailers so no ones on the ground." Steve suggested. "Get me some envelopes or air tight containers. For the seeds from the harvest." Norma stated. "I need to keep them."  "Got it. By the way Norm, who owns the old Nicks farm?" Steve asked.  "Well I know Patrick Nicks died maybe 6 years ago, his son took it over and sold it." She thought. "I know the new owners, I'm sure of it." She looked around. Searched the tables.  "What are you looking for?"  "Dads address book." She realized where it was. She went above the fridge and grabbed the black book. "Duncan, Flynn. Oh yeah I've met him." She realized, she and him had a past it was hard to forget. "He had wild red hair and beard. It came down to his chest. He had a 15 year old daughter and when I met her she was pregnant.  He was born in Scotland, his daughter was born in California I believe.  He was only 16 when he had her I think."  "How do you remember all this?" Jax asked in shock. "With our dad you remember everything." Steve stated. "I got spanked by my father at age 15 for forgetting to close the gate the baby goats were in." Their father wasn't abusive just stern. He had to be. His boys were wild and out of control.  "Why were you asking about the farm anyway?" Norma asked.  Lucy knocked on the back door and came in. "Need help with breakfast?" She asked.  "Sure, we'll start on pancakes. We got that powdered milk in the cabinet."  "That shits nasty." Jax said.  "But it's all we got." Norma said.  "And thats why I brought up the Nicks farm. See if this guys till there, see if he'll trade. If hes not see if anything is still alive." Steve stated.  "We have a spy." Jax pointed to the stairs.  Norma signed and spoke. "Good morning sneaky pants." She smiled.  Jax patted his knee and invited her to sit. She rushed over and sat on his knee. She cuddled in his chest.  "She forgot her hearing aid." Norma looked at her ear. "I'll get it and wake up everyone." Norma went upstairs.  "So whats the plan?" Lucy asked.  Steve turned from the stove. "Figure we leave after breakfast." Sammi must have read his lips because she grabbed Jax's shirt tighter.  Jax got her attention and he said. "Not me."  She relaxed.  "You know Bruce and I will go but where?" She started to pull out washed Styrofoam plates.  "We go through town and get supplies and head towards the now Duncan Farm and see whats up." Steve stated as he flipped the first couple of pancakes.  Jax saw his girls come down and Norma.  "She's sleeping." Norma said when she looked at Sammi.  "Damn." Jax looked down.  "She didnt get sleep last night?" Lucy asked.  "No, she sbeen having nightmares since the infected broke in."  "But we slept all night?" Sarah snicked.  "You didnt see them." Norma told her. "And I dont like your attitude miss." Norma corrected her.  "Sammi spent half the night in our bed and the other half working up the nerve to leave her bed to rush to ours." Jax stated.  "Liam use to do that all the way up to age 10." Lucy stated. "We would play hide and seek with his friends and he would get so scared afterward. We had to stop playing hide and seek for a while.  "He seems perfectly find now. No need to worry." Jax looked at Norma.  "He is, 30, happy and healthy." Lucy said as she started the coffee.  "Damn he's 30? You do not look like you have a 30 year old son." Steve flattered her.  "17 and a catholic school girl." She stated.  "Makes sense." Norma was in a similar predicament. "I'll take her back upstairs." Jax said.  "No, just put her on the sofa. I can keep an eye on her." Norma said.  They saw Mayim, one of the teenagers from the rescue center knock on the door.  "Need help?" "Start handing out plats." Lucy passed her a tray of plats.  ***** A System ***** Everyone in the camp ate. Sammi slept on the sofa. Jax would make her something when she woke up.  Norma, Clair, Doris and Victoria blanched the fruit and vegetables.  Zachary, Tony, Paris and Mayim cut, vacuumed sealed and froze the fruit and vegetables after the blanching.  All little ones watched a movie or played board games.  Ten people worked the farm.  The rest, excluding Steves crew, finished the harvest.  ~~~ "Lunch is ready." Norma called.  Norma made oatmeal they had. She hated that they didnt have milk but they had to do with what they have.  She added different berries to different bowls.  "All done." Jax said.  "Really?" She was shocked.  "Yeah how are we on supplies though?" "Cabinets are fully loaded, both freezers in the basement are full, the fridge and freezer up here are full as well. We have counter tops and cabinets full. we dont even have enough room for all this stuff." "This is good." Jax said. He looked over. "Wheres Sammi?"  "The kids and teenagers are playing hide and seek. And the adults are taking turns seeking." She said with smile.  They saw Travis O'Niel rushed down the stairs playfully looking for the kids. Norma stopped him. "Lunch is done." "I'll tell everyone its the last round as i find them."  ~~~ Bruce, Lucy and Steve went into town and raided the local hardware store. They believe they had enough to finish the fence.  "Think we should search the houses?" Lucy asked.  "Could have food." Steve said.  "I meant for people." Lucy corrected him.  "No." Bruce said. "It's one thing if they come to us but we cant go looking for them."  "We came looking for you." Steve said.  "No you knew where we were." Bruce snicked.  "If we see someone we might help them but we cant go looking." Steve stated.  They all got in Lucys truck and headed deeper into town, towards the old Nicks farm.  ~~~ "I can not find Madison and Sammi." Travis told Norma. "Their the last two."  "Madison! Come out the games over!" She called. She hopped Sammi was with her. "Where did you look?" She asked when they didnt come out.  "Everywhere. Even the barn."  She thought. "Jax search the barn for the girls. Kenz upstairs. I'll check the basement." She went down and saw no one at first. "Madison, Sammi!" She called. Norma remembered that she used to hide down here. Her family could never find her. Where was it? She looked at the bookshelfs and remembered. They were all lined against the walls. Equally spaced. Which one was it though? She started to try and slide them each. It took four trys and found it. The shelve slid over and revealed the storage room. Madison and Sammi ran out. "We got trapped." Madison stated.  "Yeah I know that story." She said and signed. "Go eat and tell your dad i'm down stairs." She looked inside the room. It was there when her great grandfather first bought this place as a ranch. He would be so mad that her dad turned it into a farm. But he wasn't going to die the same way his father his or grandfather had. He wasn't leaving his family early.  The room was as long as the house but only maybe 15 feet wide. From what her father told her, it was empty when her great grandfather bought it. Her grandfather used it as a storage room and the basement as a bedroom. His father didnt use it and didnt care to think about it. Norma had forgotten about it till now.  Jax came down and saw the bookcase moved and the whole. He went over and went inside.  "What ya thinking?" He asked.  "Move all the boxes in here. Most of its junk and old baby stuff. Go through it, see whats useful and go keep it out. Move some people in here. We could probably build three rooms down here and get people inside." She thought. "Sounds like a good idea." Jax agreed. "Want me to start laundry?"  "Umm, no. I want to stretch the detergent as much as possible."  "It's the homemade stuff, it should last a while." He stated. "Only have to use a little."  "True, but I rather wait a little." She stated. "Task tomorrow, making body wash."  ~~~ They made it just to the out side of the now Duncan Farm.  "Thats a Ranch." Lucy corrected him.  "I know, I'm just use to saying farm for everything."  "But its a ranch. they raise live stock, its a ranch." Bruce sarcastically babbled.  "Got it!" Steve grunted.  They climbed out the truck and looked around. This place looked like military. Looked secure and they could see men with riffles in look outs. They were greeted by the sound of a man on a speaker.  "Back out." He ordered.  "We dont mean you any harm!" Lucy polity shouted.  "Back away!" The man ordered again.  Steve thought. "We're friends of Buck Kennedy! I'm his son!"  There was silence for a minute. They saw a few infected come by. Shots were fired by the man, only aiming at the infected. They saw a man with wild red hair approach the chain link fence. This had to be Flynn.  "If your Bucks son answer these questions and I'll believe you. Which one?"  "Steve, second oldest." "Where are Buck and Bernadette?" The man knew he was at the funerals but he knew their sons weren't.  "Both dead. Before the end and no I didnt go to the funeral." He stated.  "Why the fuck not?" The man asked with anger. He knew Buck to be such a strong willed but caring person. Bernadette was probably the sweetest mother in the world, sweet enough to rot your teeth.  "I dont know. I was an idiot. I got into a fight with my father a few years back and hadn't spoken to him since. I thought i would be disrespecting him by going." It was true but hard for him to admit. "I didnt think it was right if I went to hers and not his."  The infected were gathering close.  "You gonna let us in, its gettin heavy out here." Bruce stated.  The man paused. He left them in.  They walked in leaving the truck just at the gates. "Give me your guns." He said.  "I aint doing that." Bruce said.  "Then you can get your ass back out there." Another man came behind Flynn. He also had also had a wild beard but his hair was pulled back into a bun. His was brown. They were about the same height, same built. Very strong.  "We're just here to talk." Steve said.  "Talking don't evolve guns." The other man stated.  "Bruce." Lucy looked at him. She handed her gun to who she assumed to be Flynn. Steve was next. Then Bruce.  "What do you want to talk about?" The man asked.  "My sister Norma, thought about a trade. If there was still someone here we could trade meat or milk for fruits and vegetables."  "How do we know you still have anything?" The other man asked skeptically.  Lucy lifted the top to her bag and they could see the apples, oranges and container of strawberries.  That looked delicious his group was living off just meat and milk. They needed a break.  "Norma is even willing to trade her homemade body wash and laundry detergent if you need it." Steve stated.  "Come in." The red headed man assumed to be Flynn offered.  ~~~ Norma spoke amongst the group. They decided to move people in the empty space. Divide it by a make shift room divider and have three small bedroom areas. Doing the same in the basement as well. Norma would go through the boxes and dispose of anything unnecessary. Keep anything she felt of importance. They were done the harvest. They were good. Everything was full. They wanted to pull people in though. Keep them in the house. They decided to hang rope from ceiling and walls at a 90 degree angle. For 3 sleeping areas in the hidden room.  They were able to use old curtains and rings for the two in there. They need to pick up more curtains on a run at some point.  They set up the 5 cots that were originally Normas in the three new sleeping areas. The four single cats went to four of the teenagers. The double cot went to the teenage couple. They were sleeping together anyway. They each had a pillow and blanket.  "I can take a run to one of those department stores and look for a few more cots or beds and dividers or curtains." Jax stated.  "Not until Steve gets back. Tomorrow." She told him.  "Okay, dont worry." She wasnt worried.  ~~~ "So your plan is we give you a cow and pig a few other things and we have to trust that you'll keep bringing us fruits and vegetables?" Flynn asked.  "You'll have our word." "Aint enough." The other who had introduced himself as Robbie said.  "Alright." Lucy said. She wanted to calm the tension. "But the harvest is done. We can give you a few baskets of everything. Make one big haul. We have an overflow. I can see from just walking here" They were in a barn. "that you have more then enough. I saw more then 50 pigs out there. Just as many or more cows. We're just asking for 1 of each. Cow, pregnant. Goat, Sheep, a pig. We dont need a bull. We dont need anything else." Lucy was enticing.  "Hens we want at least 3, and a roaster." Flynn stated.  "Then we want two of each." Lucy was stern.  Flynn thought. "Deal. But we need the soaps to." He knew were a little smelly. They have running water but nothing to keep them clean. "Okay. Would you like to do the transport or give us one of your trucks?" Lucy asked. "We'll transport. I want to make sure we get ours. Make sure you are who you say you are. Have Norma vouch for you." Flynn stated. "That wont be a problem, right?"  "Of course not." Steve stated.  "Okay." Lucy offered her hand and Flynn shook. "You know where the farm is?" Steve asked. "Yes." "Come by tomorrow before sunset." Steve said. "Deal." Flynn said.  Steve, Bruce and Lucy left after they retrieved their weapons. They had to kill a few infected to get to their truck. Lucy left the food they brought.  "Will Norma be okay with the deal?" Lucy asked Steve.  "Yes. We got a good deal. Probably better then theirs." Flynn and Robbie watched them leave through the gates. "Deal don't seem fair." Robbie stated. "You planing something?"  "If Norma aint there, yes. If Norma is, no. Shes a good girl. Got three little ones. I met her when I first moved here, bought her pa's livestock." He had more of a relationship with her then he was going to admit. "She hadn't had kids at that point. But met her again when she first had her babies and a few more times after that. I dont think that girl has a mean bone in her body. But she does have mommy bear instincts. I saw them at the funeral when some one tried to scold her daughter. If shes there and we go against that deal. She might kill us and take it. And I'm not joking." Flynn made it clear. "But if the deal seems unsafe, we try to safely back out but if not we do what we have to." He told him.  "Want me to get the people?" Robbie asked.  "Yeah."  ~~~ Norma and a few others were going through the boxes in the basement. It was old childhood stuff. Some toys. "Anything you dont think is good we can probably store in the old rabbit hut."  "Or we can just stack them neatly in a corner. Or use them as a wall. They are boxs you know. They stack." Norma was sarcastically blunt.  "Whats got into you crancky pants?" Jax asked.  "Just tired." Norma said.  He worried about her. Maybe she was over worked. She found the gates for her daughters play pen.  They might need then for something. They did as Norma suggested and stacked the boxes, enough to make one room in the back. They had to leave a gap for a door but it was a room. It was smaller then the rest would be because the bathroom was in front of it. But it could fit two people.  "Alright. Move your stuff into your rooms. We'll work on making more rooms down here tomorrow."  Bruces daughter from his second marriage, Layla and her husband Marcus moved into the small back room.  They made a bed of sleeping bags and blankets.  "I'll make dinner." Norma stood from the floor and went upstairs.  "Why dont you relax. I'll just make a few of the cans of chicken soup we have." He grabbed the largest pot they had and added 10 cans of chicken soup.  By the time he finished cooking diner Steve and his crew had returned.  Lucy and Steve sat with Jax and Norma at the kitchen island.  Steve explained the deal. Norma was okay with it. But she wanted the gate finished before they got here.  After eating most adults worked that night. Finishing that gate with the supplies that Steve brought.  The sun was rising when they finished though. "Where are we going to put these animals?" Charlie O'Niel asked. "In the freezer." Steve said. "Oh god." Allison a women who was never from farm lands said. "Sad but true." Norma stated. "Not right away though." Steve stated.   "We've got old wooden fences in the barn probably make a pen for the goats and sheeps. We can put the cows in the barn." Jax offered.  "Not the best but it could work." Norma stated. "Have to feed the goats and sheeps separately though." "What about the pigs?" Steve said.  "I dont know!" Norma grunted. "I'm fucking exhausted. I dont even know if my kids slept. We worked a week to make these fences and these things are still here!" She swung her arms and gestured to the infected piling up towards the left side of the gates. "What are we doing?"  Jax pulled the gun from his back and shot the six infected at the gates. "We're surviving." He told her. "Becky, you mind cooking breakfast. Kids are probably hungry. Steve grab a few people and work on the fences for the goats or sheeps." He knew more things needed to be done. "If your meeting the people coming today. Get a shower. There are 5 showers available. We cant look sneaky. We cant have these people backing out." Jax made it clear. He took a deep breath. "Marcus help me get these bodies across the road." "Are you okay?" Lucy asked Norma, her face was pal.  "Just tired of this shit." She headed in the house.  ~~~ Meanwhile at the Duncan Ranch, Flynn prepared for the trade.  "Get two man to a truck. Three trucks put the goats and sheep together."  They needed 6 people including himself.  Bobby, a 50 year old husband and father of 5.  Kayta, a 30 year old petite Russian wife and mother of 5. Some of which her wife gave birth to. And her dog Grisha. A over protective German Sheppard.  Robby Gallagher 36, husband and father of 7. His oldest child RJ, 21.  And his second oldest child but oldest daughter Joey, and 16.  "You ready to get goin?" Joey asked.  "Not yet." Flynn said. "Patience." He told her.   "Here." Flynns daughter, Alice, came over. She handed him a backback full of supplies. "Hurry back, if you aint back in 2 days we go into survival mood." She told him.  "I'll be back by then." He hugged his daughter. "Listen up!" He gathered everyones attention. "My daughter is in charge until I get back. You dont let anyone in, I dont care who it is." He stated. "If anything happens, do not worry just get yourselves to the bunker. He made sure they understood." They did.  "Grandpa!" Ruby and Rose, his 5 year old granddaughters shouted and ran to him.  "Don't leave!" Ruby said.  He lifted his granddaughters. "I'm gonna get us some eggs. Make 'em nice and fluffy like before." He kissed their heads and put them down. "You be good for your ma. Got it?"  "Yes sir." They said and said behind their mother.  He looked at his family. Saw his daughters smile. And all their natural bright orange curly hair. He has something to come home to and he will.  "Alright, who's ready?" Flynn asked.  "I cant get the fucking cow to budge." Robby stated as he was trying to get the cow in the truck.  Flynn chuckled. ~~~ Norma went to her bedroom. Jax came behind her. "Shower time?" He asked.  "Go ahead, I need to change and check on the girls."  "Their fine, I checked. Saddie and Sammi are watching Finding Nemo. Sarah's with Madison and Kenz doing their hair some girly thing." He stated.  "Jax, I think I'm pregnant." She admitted.  "What?" He worried. "We use condoms." He didnt understand.  "Not when we first got here." She reminded him.  "That was almost 3 months ago." He said. "You haven't had your, you know." He felt awkward saying it. "No, I thought it was just stress from my parents, moving, the dead rising and not knowing how to survive but I'm really thinking I'm pregnant." "Calm down, we'll figure this out." He was terrified but he couldn't show her.  "After today, after the deal, we'll go look for a test." He told her.  "Theres something I gotta tell you." she had one more secret.  "What is it?" He worried.  "Flynn, the bioligical father of my girls." She had to blurt it out.  "WHAT?!" He Shouted. "How? I met their father, right?" He was confused.  "Yes, Jack chose to be their dad, but he quiet when we moved gto new york but he already sign the birth certificates for them so he was their father. Flynn and I werent seeing each other, we had sex several times. I got pregnant and i didnt tell him. I told him later and told him it was Jacks. My dad would have killed him." She worried how Jax would react. "He doesnt know my girls are his." "You lied to him for years." He stated.  "Yes. I was scared." She told him.  "Why are you telling me now?" he wondered.  "Cause i needed you to know."  He didnt say anything.  "Are you mad at me?"  "No, not you. You would have been 17." She could see he was mad.  "Never told him my age." She admitted.  "I'm not mad at you just pissed that you kept this man from his kids for 5 years." He knows how that feels. "Madisons mom didnt tell me about her until she was 7. When Madison overdosed on her mothers stash."  "I didnt know that." She told him.  "Yeah I know. Madison doesn't remember it. I never wanted her to. Never wanted to bring it up." Jax said. "So I dont understand why you never told him. Is he bad guy? Drugs? Drinking?"  "No. I was 17 and scared." She admitted.  "Jesus. You shouldnt have been fucking an older man then." He blurted out.  "I fucked you." She was angry not. "And your almost 10 years older then he is." She reminded him.  She hated that he made her feel bad for this.  "Jax, Norma!" Steve shouted.  "Coming." Norma changed her shirt quickly and went downstairs.  Jax was behind her.  "Yeah?" Norma asked.  "Cars are comin." He stated.  "Damn, not even close to sundown." Norma said. "Everyone ready?" She asked.  "Daddy!" Sammi cried and ran from Jax.  He lifted her. To him he was her dad. "I wanna go with you." She told him. "No." He softly told her. He couldn't sign she was in his arms.  "Not trying to but in but they might not try anything with a child there. And no offense she can't hear what we say if we don't sign." Lucy said cautiously. "plus she would stay in your arms the whole time" Lucy said.    "I'm not risking my daughter." Norma sternly stated. "Now you can stay in here with her or tell her to sit and watch tv with her sisters." Norma went out the house.  She saw the large transport trucks coming.  Norma went to the opening of the gate with Sean and Travis O'Neil. Bruce, Lucy and Steve were following behind them. Jax put Sammi with her sisters and he came out as they were opening the gates.  Flynn drove in first with Robby in the passengers seat.  He looked at Norma and remembered everything.  He parked and came out first.  They mutually hugged.  He looked at her and new something was up.  "How are you?" "I'm okay. You?" "We're good."  "You ready to get started?" Norma asked.  "Yes." He said and followed her.  "But, surrender your guns and weapons to Steve or the deal is off the table." Flynn instructed his group to listen.  Flynn walked with her to the barn.  It was large. She had a dining table and chairs in there. There was a second floor ledge.  "Can we talk in private?" Flynn asked.  "Yeah."  "No." Jax stated.  "It's fine." Norma sternly stated.  She closed the barn doors as they went in.  "Those gates aint gonna last." He told her.  "I know but it's all we've got." She sat at the table with him.  "You think about leavin?" He asked.  "This is my home."  "Cant stay home forever." He told her.  "You are."  "This isnt my home, I left mine when I was 16. Went to a whole different country, with a baby." He told her. "And for here, my gates are iron and stone. They'll last."  "Lets just get this deal done." She told him.  "Do you have fencing?" He asked.  "Some." She told him.  "You could probably put everything in here. Fence in sections. This barns huge." He explained.  "Yeah?" She asked.  "I'll get my men in here and do it." He stated.  "We'll do it." She stated.  "Let me help." He told her.  "Fine." She stated.  They headed to leave he barn. "How are my girls doing?" He asked and she was shocked. How did he know? "W-What?" She jumped.  "I know their mine, I know you were scared then but the worlds ended and I need to know if their okay." He stated.  "Why did you never say anything?" She asked in panic.  "Cause you needed to do your own thing, you didn't want my help. I wasn't going to force it. But like I said, the worlds ended and now I need to know if their okay." He told her.  "Their all fine. Perfectly fine."  "I want to met them, actually met them." He told. "They dont know. They call Jax dad." "And I dont want to change that. I just want to know them." He clarified. "You can met them but I need to talk to Jax first." She sternly stated.  He was a respectable man so he said. "Okay." They left the barn.  "Start moving the baskets into Flynns truck." Norma said. "And the chickens."  "Take the fencing we brought and the stuff they have and start building sections in the barn." Flynn stated.  Norma pulled Jax to the side. "He knows." She told him.  "What? You told him?"  "No. He knew. I dont know how but he just knew." She stated.  "What does he want?" He stated. He knows he wants something.  "He just wants to met them." He stated.  "No." He almost demanded it.  "He just wants to met them Jax. No strings. And dont demand me." She walked off. She walked to her porch, where Flynn was waiting. "Stay here."  She went inside and saw her three girls sitting with Madison and Mackenzie.  "Girls." They all turned. "I need the little ones." She explained.  The girls got up and followed their mother to the porch.  "Flynn, this is Sarah, Sadie and Samantha." She was signing and he didn't know why. He looked confused. "Sammi is mostly deaf."  He knows nothing about the deaf culture.  "This is an old friend of mommies." She said.  Sammi ran off the porch and ran to Jax.  He lifted her and carried her back.  Flynn realized he may be a little intimidating looking.  Jax continued to hold his daughter though.  "She okay?" Flynn asked.  "Shes extremely shy." she looked at the other girls. "Go back inside." They went in.  "We had a incident, she saw them out her window." She told him. "She's been very scared since then."  "If your not gonna leave you need to make this place safer." He stated sternly.  "We put up fences..." "Leave? Where the fuck you think we're gonna go?" Jax questioned her.  "Calm down. We're not going anywhere." She was annoyed with him.  Flynn saw the anger in Jax's face. "Just talking about making this place safe."  "We're good." He stated.  "Good? Letting a little girl see the dead coming, yeah thats good." He was sarcastic and rude.  "Flynn!" She scolded him. "Thats enough! Both of you are acting worse then 5 year olds. Flynn we appreciate the animals and the advice but your over stepping your boundaries, these are my kids, my family and my home. You dont have a say. And Jax, we were just talking. We're not going anywhere. He's talking, I'm listening. We're not making plans to run off together. Got it? Now stop!" She demanded. They finished building and moving the new animals in and Flynns crew was ready to leave. "Done?" Norma asked. "Yes." "Have a safe trip." Norma said.  "Come in you need anything." He told her.  She knew he meant it.  Now she had to fix things with Jax.  ***** Breaking Down. ***** Jax avoided Norma for the rest of the night. He helped Steve prepare one of the goats for dinner and a few days to come. Dinner was done, people were heading to bed Norma wanted her girls all in the same room. They moved Madison and Mackenzie's beds into the triplets room along with their clothes. "Keep the curtains closed." Norma told them.  The three little ones were falling asleep. She left the girls and headed to her bedroom.  "You gonna talk to me?" she asked Jax.  "You gonna tell me why all of a sudden ginger boy is my girls father and now he wants to know them and telling you to leave this place?" He remarked.  "I dont know how he knew but honestly it was pretty obvious. We had sex everyday, multiple times. I'm just shocked he hasnt said anything until now." She was honest. "And he wasnt trying to take me anywhere he was just saying if we're not going to make this place safer we should consider it. So stop jumping to the worst thing and relax..." Knock... Knock... Knock...  "Yeah?" Norma asked.  Steve opened the door. "Tomorrow were heading out looking for better way to keep us safe, trailers, more tents. This place is to crowded in. We need to make room. I can hear your older girls complaining about sharing a room with the little ones." He told them.  "Alright, I'm going too." Jax said.  "No. I'll go." That shocked everyone.  "No." Jax and Steve said.  "Yes. Because I said so. And thats it. I'll see you in the morning." She gestured Steve to leave and close the door.  "Your not going. WE have three little ones and you might be pregnant."  "I'm not letting you do everything so you feel like you can control everything. It's not happening!" She was angry and sad and very hormonal.  "MOMMY!" Sammi bursted in through the door.  She was screaming and crying.  Makenzie was behind her.  "Gates are down." She said shaking.  "In the basement!" Jax yelled.  He saw the older ones lifting the little ones and carrying them down. Norma lifted Sammi and they ran down. Jax didnt see anyone in the house.  He started hearing shots going off. Steve was on the roof of a trailer shooting. "Theres people in the trailers but we're out of ammo!" He yelled. "Fucking teens were messing with the infected outside the gates and caused the gates to crash and kill them. We're fucking trapped!" He yelled. He started using the back of the shot gun to hit the infected with.  The O'Niels started shooting out the trailer windows. Not the one Steve was on top of.  Jax had a gun upstairs and he went on the balcony outside his bedroom and started shooting. He cleared out Steves trailer so he could at least get inside of it with Lucy, Bruce, Marcus, Layla and Liam.  "Stay in the basement." Norma told everyone. Donna and Steve and there kids were in the basement as well as Becky and Jesse and their twins.  "We can help." Dylan offered.  "No." She told them.  She ran upstairs.  Dylan and his brother didnt listen they rushed upstairs and followed behind her.  "Dylan! Daniel!" Becky their mother yelled.  Jesse ran up after them.  "Stop!" Becky yelled.  "We should all go in the hidden room." Kenzi stated. "It's safer." She stated. They started to rush back.  "Becky come on." Donna said.  "You go sweetheart, keep your kids safe. I'm waiting for my boys." She told her. Donna was hesitant. "Go." She ordered. Donna went in with her 5 kids and the others. She closed the door behind her. Becky sat on the step but her boys quickly rushed back down.  "We have no weapons, and the doors are packed." Jesse told her.  "Where is everyone else?" Madison asked.  "Dont know." Steve told her.  Norma grabbed a riffle and went to the balcony with Jax. She looked towards the fence were she saw the dead feasting for the bodied of what looked to be the teenagers from the rescue group. She started shooting and getting clear head shots. She knows whats shes doing.  "Jax, over there!" She shouted to the barn. She dead were making there way over to the live stock. Jax started shooting. Norma took care of the ones near her crops. There were to many the barn doors were broken down and the livestock now became the infected dinner. She saw her chicken coop was busted open and chickens and roosters were everywhere. They saw the O'Niels getting out of the trailer and start shooting and fighting hand to hand with these things. These people didn't seem afraid of anything.  "I cant just sit in here and do nothing!" Marcus grunted. He's a muscular man. He doesn't like to feel useless.  "We dont have usable guns, we cant go out there without possibly dying." Lyla his wife told him.  "Does anyone know where the Parsh family is?" Kenzi asked.  "No I havent seen them." Donna stated.  "The gates open." Norma realized when she saw were most of the infected were pouring in at.  "What?" Jax let out two more rounds.  "The gates are open!" She yelled. "Someone left!" She realized.  "Were sitting ducks." Liam shouted.  "The gates are open!" Norma yelled. "Get inside! Their not gonna stop!" She yelled.   The O'Niels realized this but they kept fighting. Norma went downstairs. The back doors had infected pushing on them. Their blood smeared on the glass. She was scared. She had to admit she was scared.  54 year old Sean O'Niel banged on the trailer doors. "Time to fight men!" Lucy opened the door and Sean handed her a hand gun. "And women." He smiled at her, clearly flirtatious.  Travis handed Marcus a large machete.  Charlie handed Lyla a riffle.  Chris handed Liam a handgun.  And Jay handed Bruce a shot gun.  They had more then enough to spare.  This family came prepared.  Norma knew she wasnt getting out of her house without help. But she also knew they had to go. It was time. There was no other choice. She rushed back up. "We have to go." She cried to Jax who was still shooting.  "I know." He told her. They were flooded and they werent sure how to get out. "We have 8 horses, 2 trucks, 2 motorcycles, 6 adult bikes, 3 kid bikes and a minivan."  "Hey!" Jax yelled. "Clear out the doors! We need to get to the barn!" He yelled. "Lets go." He told her.  They ran down the basement. "We need to go." Jax told her. "We're getting on the horses and in the cars and going. Now!" Jax ordered. They were scared.  "What do you mean?" Donna asked in fear. "I have toddlers, I cant go out there!" "Lets go!" Norma shouted when she saw the doors had cleared.  They ran up and hurried behind Norma. The triplets cried. Donna's twins cried. It was so scary. The infected clawing at the bodies on the ground. Feasting on them like starving people at a buffet. Kenzi was close to her dad but looked over and saw the Parsh twin girls, now infected coming towards them.  "Daddy!" She yelled.  Her dad looked backwards and shot them both in the head one at a time. Sammi couldnt hear the shots, thank god. Because she was in his arms.  Jax shoved his family and the others in the stable.  "We have everything in here that we need." Norma told her. They were smart enough to keep all the vehicles in one place. The table was huge they could fit it.  "Listen to me." Norma stated. "I got a bag of fruits, veggies, from the fridge and all the seeds we had." She had the duffel and tossed it in the truck. "Theres cases of water in the trucks so were good there. Who knows how to ride a horse?"  Becky and Jesse raised their hands. Steve and Donna did as well. Same as Kenzie and Madison but Norma already knew that.  "Madison, take the minivan with Kenzie, the triplets, Steve, Donna and there kids. Its a tight squeeze but make it fit. Dylan and Daniel take the truck and just gather people in the back. Let them hop in the flatbed, keep your windows closed."  Madison and Donna started putting the kids in the car. "You know how to follow a map?" She asked Madison.  "Mostly."  "Follow this." She gave her a cut piece of a map. "It will take you to Flynns farm. He will let you in. Be careful baby, we'll be right behind you." Normas promised. Madison looked at the map. It had notes and markers to help find her way. It was old like Norma had it for a long time. "Dylan, stay behind her!" She ordered.  "Becky Jesse, take a horse, follow them." She stated. They started to get on a horse.  When everyone was ready, she told Dylan to ram the stable doors. They were old and breaking anyway.  "Lets go!" Norma ordered. She yelled so everything and everything heard her. The people and infected started rushing towards her. Norma climbed on the back of one of the horses. Jax on the back of other. "Just follow the leader!" Norma yelled. The hoard of infected were getting bigger. Norma looked and Becky and Jesse were being taken down by at least 20 infected. "Fuck." She cried as she shout to infected near her. Norma quickly speed off on the horse, Jax right behind her.  Marcus, Lyla, Liam and Lucy got in the truck as Bruce tried to climbed in the back an infected child grabbed his leg and started chewing.  "NO!" Lucy yelled! "NO!" He was the love of her life. Lucy shot the child.  "Fuck, I got taken out by a child." He laughed sarcastically. He was holding onto the truck. "Just do it hot stuff, I aint turning into one of those dead fucks."  She took a deep breath and shot her husband in the head, right between the eyes. She held back her tears as his body dropped. "GO!" She ordered.  Marcus began to drive.  Steve climbed on the back of a horse and pulled the second youngest O'Niel, Dorris behind him. She was struggling.  Jay Chris and Charlie were in the back of Dylan and Daniels truck.  Sean O'Niel grabbed the motorcycle but it wasnt working. He had to get on the horse.  His granddaughter Clair wanted the bike but she got on a horse as well, fearing the bike wouldn't work.  Lastly Travis and Natalie grabbed a horse each.  There were no horses left.  They followed the leader down the road. Getting away from the infected. Norma speed up her horse and saw that in the back of Dylan and Daniels truck they had some chickens and roosters.  Norma speed up, past the minivan, when she saw a small four door that was on her property. She got up close and saw there rest of the Parsh family infected inside.  Jax tried to  catch up to Norma but he was on a slow horse and he knew it. He wasnt comfortable on horses but he knew it was better then anything else.  Norma was infront now. It was dark. She knew they couldnt just stop here.  Steve caught up quickly to her. "Where we going?"  "Flynn I guess." She stated.  "Lets stop in town or something. They have that dance studio, the barn, where the horses could rest. It's huge, Miss Dotty owns it." Dorris stated. "It's late and cold." She didnt have much on just jeans and a plain t shirt.  "We cant stop." She stated. "We just cant."  ***** Nothing Else Matters ***** They went until daylight. The sun helped warm people up. They were traveling through town.  They saw the baseball field.  It was gated and empty. Norma knew the building attached was a community center for after school hobbies. "In there." Norma said.  She got up closer. Jax had caught up to her.  "You think it's safe?" He asked.  "The lots empty. It was summer when this started so I doubt anyone's really in there but we should check before letting the kids in." She said.  "I got it." Sean O'Niel came up behind them and got off his horse. His gun was newly loaded.  "I'm coming." Lucy climbed out of the truck bed.  Part of her hoped the dead would get her but another part decided she wanted vengeance.  Norma brought her horse to the gate and opened it for them. She closed it, just in case. They headed in.  "Sorry bout your old man." Sean offered as they walked to the centers doors.  "Thank you." Was all she could think to say.  They reached the doors and Sean said. "I'll open it, you get ready." Lucy said.  She was ready to open it, She pulled the left door open and nothing happened. So infected. Nothing. They went inside and searched. The building was two floors. A daycare and pre-school in the basement. As well as bathroom stalls and a small library, principles office and a nurses office.  The top floor had two large gyms, a locker room, a lunchroom, showers, cafeteria and another set of bathroom stalls. But it was empty.  They told everyone and brought them in.  They put the horses and trucks in the baseball field.  "We need to get to Flynns, that place is like a military compound." "Yeah I know." Norma remembered.  Lucy looked at her wondered how she knew.  She saw the tension back at the farm. She heard Jax and Norma yelling about them.  Jax came over this was the first time he was able to hold her since before their argument. The three little ones rushed over at their legs. Jax picked up Sammy and Sarah. Norma picked up Saddie.  "Momma I'm scared." Sarah cried.  "What are dose things?" Saddie cried.  This was their first real interaction, up close and personal. They've seen them but not banging on the car next to them.  Sammy was just quiet.  "It's okay babies." She got in close to Jax. "We got you."  ~~~ Things settled in here. It was empty. Nothing useful in here. They weren't able to get much from the farm house.  Enough food for a day or so. Enough water for less then a week if divided equally.  ~~~ "Heres what we have to do. Listen to me." Norma said to all adults. "Anyone under the age of 18 will be staying here with the small children. Jax, Steve and Lucy will go to Flynns and see about us staying there. We cant stay here. It's just not fucking possible. Jax you will be polite. Sean take a couple of people and scavenge. Anything you can find. I need at lest 4 people to head back towards the house and see if anything is salvageable. Dont get to close but just see. We had the house doors closed. Anything in the freezer or house in general should be fine."  She saw a few people raise a hand in volunteer. "Okay so Ian, Jay, Marcus and Liam take what vehicle you feel necessary and go."  "Madison and Mackenzie." She called the girls over. "I want you in charge of the kids, keep them distracted. Keep them calm."  "Got it." Madison stated.  The groups began to get ready to leave.  "Daddy!" Sammi ran to him. She didnt want him to leave. He lifted her.  "Why dont you stay Jax." Lucy asked.  Jax didnt answer for a minute. Sammi was squeezing her hands around his neck tightly. Norma was scared. "Stay." She basically just admitted she didnt want him to leave her.  "I'll go with them." Charlie O'Niel offered to take his place.  "Thanks." Jax said.  Everyone had left to do their jobs.  Jax rocked his daughter on his chest.  She was exhausted.  Most people were so tired. Especially the kids. Sammi hasnt let Jax put her down.  She fell asleep but still wouldnt let go.  "I'm worried about her." Norma admitted to Jax. They were in the locker room sitting on the shower flowers together. "She was clingly before but this is just crazy." "She saw them break down our gates, twice." He explained.  "What if we had stayed in New York?" She wondered. "Is this happening there? What our girls would be safe there?"  "Theres no times for 'what if'. We have to just deal with this now." He explained to her. "She loosened her grip, i'm going to put her somewhere comfortable." he stood and left the showers.  Norma feels like a failure. She doesnt know why this is happening. Everything is falling apart and she feels like a terrible person and mother.  "Norma?" Jax came back in a few minutes later.  She was holding back tears. "I cant do this anymore." She broke out in tears.  He got on the floor and held her.  "Their so young. I'm scared. I want to go back to my tiny apartment in New York, where this wasnt happening."  "It's probably happening everywhere." He admitted to her.  "Your house hasnt sold yet." She realized.  "No it didnt, why?" He was confused, why was she bring it up. "We could go back." She told him. "Go there. It's probably safe."  "I doubt it. No where is safe." He told her.  ~~~ Charlie, Steve and Lucy were on the horses and headed towards Flynn.  Steve wouldnt admit it but he was scared.  "I use to live right there." Lucy pointed to a red house in a row of 6. "Moved there when I was 22. Moved out when I met Bruce on a road trip with my son. We'ver been traveling ever since." She remembered.  "I'm really sorry Lucy." Steve offered.  They kept traveling. "I loved Dahlias Diner." Charlie stated as they saw the white and blue diner.  "She makes the best pancakes." Steve said. "Well, made." He corrected.  ~~~ Sean, Travis, Natalie and Clair O'Neil took the truck to scavenge for food or supplies. They just wanted to stick with houses near by. They search 4 houses and only found 1 can of soup and 3 water bottles.  They were on the 5th house when Clair shouted.  "Found something good." Clair said with excitement.  Her dad came up to the room she was in. "Holy shit." Travis was excited.  Weapons.  Several weapons.  Hand guns, riffles, shit guns. All neatly hung and placed on the walls. Clair went to grab a hand gun off the wall.  "Wait." Travis said. "Aint no way someones leaving these behind without a purpose."  Travis checked the wall. Slowly slid his hand up feeling for traps or wires.  His dad, Sean, stepped in. "Whats going on?"  "Guns line the walls and no ones around for them." Travis stated. He didnt feel anything. "Get out the room, go wait in the truck." He told his daughter. She listened.  He started to pull the smallest ones off first.  "This is to perfect." Sean stated in worry.  They finished taking the weapons off the left wall and went to get the ammo off the back wall.  Travis had a few boxes down and heard a click.  "Run!" He yelled. They grabbed the bags they had and ran, they didnt make it down the steps before the room exploded. The two were thrown down by the blast.  Travis bashed his head on the steps. He now has a huge gash, pouring out blood.  Sean just got a little beat up.  "Natalie!" Sean yelled. She was in the kitchen, freaked out from the bang.  She rushed to her husband.  She tried lifting him.  "Lets go!" She helped Sean drag him to the truck. "Go Clair!" She yelled and they drove quickly back to the community center.  The banged on the doors with their bags and Sean trying to hold his son up.  Norma answered.  She saw his head. "Downstairs, nurses office." She looked out the door and saw the exploded top floor of a few houses. The middle and the two on the sides, collateral damage.  They heard the explosion but now know what it came from.  Donna saw then dragging Travis in and rushed down. "What happened?" She worried he might be infected.  "He bashed his head on the stairs." Sean explained.  "Go-got guns." Stuttered.  Clair had the bags on her shoulders.  "We got a lot." She put the bags down.  ~~~ Liam, Marcus,Jay and Ian took the second truck and headed back towards the farm.  "Are we just heading out on a suicide mission?" Ian sarcastically stated.  "No, fuck face, we're looking to salvage the the supplies we had." Marcus stated.  "You didnt have to come." Liam said.  "Who else would have?" Ian asked.  "Doesnt mean you have to bitch." Marcus stated.  ~~~ Donna began to stitch Travis's head with supplies from the nurses station. "Good thing. It looks worse then it is. He definitely has a concussion though. Keep him awake." She politely ordered.  Norma, after making sure Travis was okay, started checking out the guns and other assorted weapons they found.  "Keep this up. Far away from small hands." She told the adults that were left. The people started putting guns and knifes on their person, on high shelves and in locked cabinets.  Norma went behind Jax who was just sitting there, thinking. She out her hands on his shoulders. "I'm sorry I've been bitchy." She told him.  "It's fine." He reached for her and she sat on his lap. "It's hard. This whole thing. We're just cracking. Gotta relax and fix it." He told her.  "I love you."  "Love you too."  ~~~ "Theres Flynns." Lucy stated.  They saw the gates but no guards this time. Almost automatically they heard shots being fired. The jumped thinking it was being aimed towards them but no, it wasnt.  They knew something was wrong when the shots kept going. They were in fear that Flynns stock was tainted.  After a full 20 minutes, maybe 30. Lucy, Charlie and Steve had to kill a few infected that came their way.  A guard came to the gate. They let them in no question. The three cautiously road their horses in. They saw bodies everywhere.  They saw Flynns people looking broken.  "What are you doing back?" Flynn questioned.  "Our gates fell." Lucy stated. "What happened here?"  "So did ours."  ***** Characters ***** Chapter Summary not a chapter just some visuals of the characters. They were lucky the infected had only been a group of maybe 30.  "Coming back to beg for more of our stuff! Risk more of our people!" Robbie came yelling.  "No." Lucy stated.  "Robbie. Go back." Flynn stated.  "No! Cause of these fucks my kids died!! I could have been here! Bobby and his whole family is dead!" Robbie almost charged Lucy, Charlie and Steve.  "Thats enough!" Flynn yelled. "This place is not as secure as we hopped. No place is anymore. This wasnt their fault. We choose to help them out. They need out help again. We're gonna need theirs too. That army out there is getting bigger and and the more people we leave out there, the bigger it gets." Lucy gestured to a few more coming to the crashed gate. She took care of them with three shots. "You can bring everyone here. But they will help out." "Of course." Lucy stated.  "Bring everyone at once. We're going to rebuild this fence. Bring whatever you have." Flynn told her.  "Thank you."  Flynn was being a bit selfish, he wanted to make sure his children were safe. He's never watched them before. He's going to protect them now.  Lucy, Charlie and Steve left.  "What do you we have free?" Flynn asked Kayta as she walked past with Grisha her German Sheppard.  "Van moved with us." She meant her and her wife. "2 empties and Bobbies house." She stated with her beautiful Russian accent.  "And you have your camper." Kayta wife, Nicole, stated. She was sad and depressed. She and Kayta lost 3 sons today.  "Thank you. I am so sorry." He told them. Nicole shrugged him off and walked to her house with her other 2 daughters.  ~~~ Liam, Jay, Marcus and Ian made it to the farm and saw it was flooded with the dead. But the chicken coop was destoryed. The dead were feasting on the chickens. "We jujst have to go to the house and get out." Marcus stated. They all followed him. Jay stayed in the truck, just in case. They headed towards the house. Before they even got to the house they saw Jay driving away.  "What the fuck!" They made to the house, rushed in and slammed the doors.  "Where the fuck did he go?" Marcus yelled.  "Just see what we can take and I'll figure something out." Ian yelled.  Jay was a coward and drove and drove until he got as far away as he could. But he wasnt smart. He drove the wrong way. He drove straight into a horde. Killing himself. Not by any attack. Simply the crash. He went into a telephone pole. Flew right threw the window shield. His corpse became a meal for the living corpses.   But from his action caused death.   Liam, Marcus and Ian were trapped. They had packed bags full of stuff they needed but they were trapped in the house. Dead stormed around them. Ian tried to distract them but nothing worked. He went out the second floor window with a jump. My manged to clear some from the back door as they ate his mangled body. Marcus and Liam took off. They started running. Marcus was faster. He tried to wait for his Liam but the infected were gaining on them. They were overrun quickly. Liam died screaming as the horde ripped him to pieces. Marcus somehow got way. He had a bag of frozen food and some eggs. He was running and running. He blacked out he ran so fast. HE cant remember anything.  ~~~ Lucy, Charlie and Steve got back starting getting everyone to pack. They werent sure about moving Travis but they had to keep him awake anyway.  "What about my sons?" Sean asked.  "We'll wait as long as we can." Norma told him.  Jax came up behind her.  He was about to say something when he saw Mackenzie come over. She was visibly scared and shaking.  "Whats wrong?" He asked quickly.  "I looked out the window. Theres-" She was to scared to speak.  "What?" He asked.  "More then the farm." She stuttered out.  The people around her started to look out the windows. The horde was here and destroying everything. The horse were dead. The dead trampled on the bicyles and motorcycles. They were falling and tripping but that didnt stop them. They were determined to just keep going. "Shhh, Everyone." Norma whispered.  "Kids?" Norma looked around. "Get all the kids in the downstairs in the library as quietly as possible." She spoke quietly and slowly.  The triplets were already downstairs. But they had to be put in the library. Madison, Mackenzie and Norma headed downstairs to do that.  They could hear the dead pounding on the outside of the building.  The kids were crying. The triplets cradled into their parents. Sammi stayed hidden behind Jax. She didnt want to see anything.  The fear was overwhelming.  Trapped.  Scared.  No way out.  "I think theres someone in there!" A women with dark black hair said to the 5 other passengers in her jeep. She was very clearly stoned. They all were. The only thing they cared about was saving their stash.  There were no doors or hood on the jeep.  They saw the infected flooding the community center.  "You can hear the babies crying." She stretched her words.   "What do you want to do?" Another women with large breast asked from the back.  "Lets be heros!" She shouted and swiftly drove the jeep up to the center. They didnt even realize the infected were real. She stayed at a distance but they had to act quickly. She grabbed an air horn with duct tape. The horn was loud but she drove with it. Getting the attention of the dead. Making them follow her. The majority of them followed her anyway. She kept going and going until she was far away. She threw the horn and tried to drive in the apposite direction. But she was blocked. Trying to be a hero, while stoned out of her mind, got herself and 5 others killed.  No one in the cumming center was willing to move yet.      Please drop_by_the_archive_and_comment to let the author know if you enjoyed their work!
