In this world, where birthrate is one the decline, omegas are becoming rare sexes, treasured. A population less than five percent. As a result, there is a globally accepted expectation of omegas. Stay alive and protected, get married to one or more fertile alphas, and have kids. Breed. Like animals. As a result, there are no known omega heroes. It is far too dangerous a profession for the fragile secondary sex. However, one little omega refuses to abide by the rules. Notes A prompt that wouldn't leave me alone. I've been reading a/b/ o stories in the BnHA fandom, and some of them were quite good. It's the first time I tackle some social problems directly. I wanted to try a serious take on this, although me being the perverted me, I do plan smut in the future. I'm gonna try my darndest to keep them in character. I think I've been doing alright so far. Feel free to call me out on anything! I like criticism and help of any kind! Similar studies are being conducted in four other countries. Statisticians and historians suggest that with the increase in alpha females, birthrate may go down, increasing the need for omegas even more so in the next fifty years. He turned the TV off with a sigh. Nothing interesting, as usual. He pulled his jacket on, picked up his bag, and headed to school without a glance to his mom. He boarded his usual train to U.A. and ignored the idle chatter. It was just a normal day in Musutafu. He wasn’t much for normalcy, he was going to be the number one hero after all. But the routine was met with less anger than his usual mood. He’s long since recovered from his humiliating defeat against shitty Deku and that side character at Ground Beta (…a weekend). Now, he just wanted to continue his time at U.A. He didn’t have time to try and figure out why Deku had some weird ass quirk. He dismounted at his stop and walked the short distance to the large school. He fell into step with the crowd of students and swiped his card in, ignoring the ever present mob of reporters insisting on information about All Might. Fucking Pests. No one spared them a glance. When will they take the fucking hint? Someone bumped into him. Bastard, none of these students had any respect. It was a new school, none of his old lackeys were good enough to get into U.A., just as he expected. Except for Deku for some damn reason. His anger flared, he glared and bared his teeth. The kid looked back, mildly intimidated by him. Good, but not good enough. Whatever. It didn’t matter anyway. He arrived at his classroom anyway. He was one of the first to be here. Him and that other side character with the glasses. He took his seat, lifted his legs onto his desk and looked out the window. As he expected, Glasses immediately came up to him with that weird ass chopping motion he did first day of school. “Bakugou-san! Do you not have any respect? Remove your feet from the desk!” A few other students entered to the scene. “Huh? Or what, Glasses? You’ll chop on my legs until I do? If so, then your ideas are as fucking shitty as your quirk,” he sneered. “Go and die. Shitty side character.” “Bakugou-san! That language is not school appropriate!” “The fuck you care?” “Bakugou-san, as I stated before, people put time into making this desk!” He glared and looked out the window. This seemed to spur the pest on, if his erratic chopping was any sign. The room slowly filled with chatter and soon enough, Glasses finally left him alone. To go talk to fucking Deku. Damn nerd was a hit in the class. Not that he cared. Shitty Deku. More commotion commenced. More students came in. Didn’t matter. They were just side characters after all. He continued to ignore everything until Aizawa arrived in that weird sleeping bag of his. Only then did he place his feet on the ground. Annoying Glasses was one thing, but his Sensei wasn’t one to take lightly. Said man took attendance leisurely before beginning announcements. Nothing unusual, everything perfectly normal. Or as normal as U.A. can be. So boring. Boring. And annoying with Present Mic yelling about how they had to get their heads up. Why he ever became a teacher remained a mystery to most students. Bakugou just continued to gaze out the window, ignoring the damn quips. Seriously, he could do these exercises in his sleep. Well maybe not in his sleep, but still, it’s a waste of time. “Bakugou! Which of these phrases is correct?” He glanced over, frowning as he assessed the three sentences. “None of them.” “Eeeeeeeeexactly! None of these are correct. Mineta, please explain why the first one is incorrect.” He returned his gaze to the window then rested his eyes. Called on once usually meant he won’t be called on again. Time in English passed quickly. Kinda surprising. Or did he fall asleep? Bakugou wasn’t sure, nor did he care. This had nothing to do with hero training anyway. Not that he wouldn’t try, of course. Next came Modern Literature. Something he mildly enjoyed. Still boring. Then an unusual scent wafted the room. Everyone looked up and Cementoss paused his lecture. It was unusual but it was familiar. Someone was presenting again. The third one this week in this class. Nothing unusual. Although the scents haven’t exactly been all that great. Then again, Bakugou has yet to present himself. He won’t understand why everyone reacts the way they do. They all smell the same after all. “Ok, ok, you know the drill. If you can’t focus, head to Recovery Girl for a full check-up. Otherwise, let’s focus back again,” the hero instructed. Bakugou heard the chair in the back scrape against the floor. He glanced over, unable to smother his curiosity. Todoroki Shouto. So shitty half-and-half presented. He wasn’t sure what though. Alphas and betas smelled the same to non-presented people. And he’s not likely to be an omega because he’s not going into heat like a little bitch. He left the classroom and Cementoss returned to his lecture. Some of his classmates continued to look at the door, others turned to each other. Bakugou shifted back to the front, frowning at the information on the board. When did he erase the quotes? Shit. He looked down to his incomplete notes. Great. The day continued on. No one else in the class presented. Boring up until Foundational Hero Studies. “Alright! Today we shall do some team exercises!” Ever annoying All Might tried to get them pumped up. No hero costumes today. Everyone was changing in the locker rooms when Todoroki returned. The scent was gone, but how long that was gonna be, no one knew. Didn’t matter anyway. “Hey Todoroki-san! Congratulations on presenting! You were barely affected! Unlike Sero…” that blond one taunted. He chanced a look behind him to the half- and-half. “Maybe you’ll understand when you present! I bet you’re more weak-willed than I am!” More banter ensued but he just pulled off his shirt and ignored them. He saw Todoroki do the same. He felt uncomfortable momentarily. Damn bastard. Mild curiosity rose in him. Was he an alpha or a beta? Because it mattered when he beat his ass. If a non-presented person defeats an alpha… Well…he smirked at the thought. They finished changing and walked out to follow All Might to Ground Beta. “Alright! I’m sure you remember the first time we worked on Ground Beta! Quite a learning experience! Today, we’re going to practice different retrieval exercises. One person will be appointed villain, a second with be the hero and the third will be the victim. We will work in a ruined structure.” He pointed to a fallen building. “We will safely deposit the victim deep underneath the ruins. The hero will naturally try and save them without bringing danger to themselves or the victim.” He took a moment to look to Bakugou, to which he responded with a glare. “The villain will do what they can to prevent that. We shall assume that the building has collapsed. When that happens, debris causes a cloud of dust to accumulate. That, along with the enclosed space, is detrimental to a victim’s health. However, that is not the situation that we are going to work with. We shall assume that those circumstances are null.” Ponytail raised her hand. “Isn’t it impractical to not treat this as a realistic situation? If we subtract certain variables, won’t it take away from experience?” The large man pointed a huge finger to her. “Right you are, young Yaoyorozu! However, there is a component that is important for heroism that is my focus for today! Communication.” For once, he shared his classmates’ confusion. “The last exercise we did on Ground Beta helped me assess certain aspects of your characters. Today I need to assess other components. So! Roles will be given via computer! I already assigned the first round to be.” He held up a card that read: Villain: Midoriya. Hero: Hagakure. Victim: Aoyama. “Yaoyorozu and Iida, please escort the others to the control room. Aoyama, please follow me. Hagakure, please find a place approximately ten meters away from the building. Midoriya, stand nearby the building. After I enter the control room, I will start a count down. Then you may begin the mission.” Bakugou had stopped listening, just simply watching the screen. Shitty Deku playing villain? That was downright laughable. The shitty sparkling kid kept making a fuss when being rescued. Somehow the invisible girl managed to get him out. He was right about Deku. Pathetic. A few more rounds went. All just as painful to watch. All a waste of time. Extremely boring. What he didn’t understand was why they were in their gym uniforms? It would have been more practical and realistic if they were in their hero costumes. Pony tail asked this question for him, to which the symbol of peace replied with a wave of his hand and “reasons that are irrelevant.” It didn’t matter. His turn came and he was the victim. Which made absolutely no fucking sense. “Why do I have to be the victim?” he demanded. He crossed his arms and glared at the giant man, who continued to smile down on him like a motherfucking bastard. “I don’t need saving!” “Young Bakugou! You are a unique victim. Something only you can do!” The fuck?! He can only be a fucking victim!? He couldn’t stop trembling in rage and grinding his teeth. “I apologize, young Bakugou. But you have been chosen as victim. Please follow me.” He continued shaking and baring his teeth. It was easy enough to get him into the space and enclose him in. Now he had to wait. He sat down and glared at the ceiling, waiting ever so impatiently. It took an unusually long amount of time. He grew bored. Then there were some explosions. Some temperature changes. Todoroki was the fucking hero. A poor excuse for a hero. He better not crush him or else he’ll be crushing his sorry presented ass. Gradually, it became hotter in the space. Unusually hot. Was this Todoroki’s doing? It wasn’t natural. Bakugou began to sweat vigorously and feel extremely uncomfortable. Tingly. Maybe not Todoroki. He tried to wipe some off his brow but that did no good, only sending more droplets in his eyes, stinging them. He was sweating all over and he couldn’t find a comfortable seat on the floor. It was becoming increasingly stuffy. But he wasn’t about to bitch about being uncomfortable…… But….something was obviously wrong. He shifted a few times. It shouldn’t be this hot. He adjusted his uniform. Fuck, Todoroki had better hurry the fuck up or he would get himself out, All Might be damned. More time passed until finally some debris fell. The heat was released, allowing a fresh breath of air into Bakugou’s lungs. But it was strange still... he was still hot…. The scarred faced bitch finally made his appearance. Without a word, he held out his hand, although an unreadable expression crossed his faced. Something different than his usual blank appearance. Before he could even consider taking his hand, half-and-half pulled back and sniffed. “What is it, ass-munch? Did you shit yourself?” the arsonist taunted, smirking up. Todoroki sat back on his heels, a thoughtful look on his face. “AHAHAHAHAHA, HERO! You hesitated for too long!” Suddenly, an over-enthusiastic Glasses round housed an unsuspecting Todoroki away from the exit. Before he could advance, however, he too stopped and took a sniff. “What is that smell?” “Did you also shit yourself?” He sniffed more. Following his entitled nose towards the pit. “Bakugou, do you use some sort of shampoo or soap this morning? Perhaps it accumulated…” “Huh? The fuck you talking about?” Something was happening. Glasses began to sweat more and a new smell made itself known. Bakugou’s eyes widened. Something dripped down his leg. And it wasn’t sweat. Or piss. Or shit. Definitely not shit. He wasn’t scared. Or was he? No….. ……What was happening? “Young Iida, Young Bakugou, is something the matter?” All Might asked over the speaker. Glasses came down slowly, clearly showing a change in stature. Bakugou sat back, heat rising, the substance making a damp spot on his ass. What was happening? Glasses stooped over slightly before getting on his hands and knees, crawling to the jittery blond. Suddenly, Todoroki made an appearance in the pit, matching expression adorning his face. Bakugou’s heart rate increased and his breathing became labored and a new heat pooled to his abdomen. Something musky and mouth-watering clouded the space, and something worse happened. His already half hard cock rose to attention. What was happening? “Stay-stay ba – stay back,” Bakugou stuttered. Something was wrong. He should be angry. He felt drained. His legs jelly-like. Something crossed their features. They slowed their advance but kept coming. These weren’t the shitty ass poor excuses for heroes. These were completely different people. Something was wrong. Something was very, very, very, very, very, very wrong. ***** Chapter 2 ***** Chapter Notes Wowwee! This story got a lot more attention than I anticipated! And as a result, I got super excited to post this sooner than I meant to. Thank you so much! Lemme know what you think! Ja ne~ Enjoy! See the end of the chapter for more notes The ground shook beneath them. Suddenly Bakugou felt weightless as All Might swept him into his muscular arms and leapt out of the pit. The surprised alphas barely registered that the omega had disappeared. The smell dissipated enough for them to get a grip and look up to the fake sky. “What just happened?” Todoroki asked, looking as if he’d been slapped in the face. He couldn’t make sense of the emotions he was feeling. It was almost as if he was deprived of something he couldn’t understand. As his head cleared further, he grew more puzzled. “I’m not sure,” Iida answered, sharing his confusion. Never once has he been rendered so….inert? No, he was moving, but without conscious intent. He just had one thing in mind and he couldn’t comprehend it. He wanted to go after All Might, get some answers. “Class dismissed!” the teacher shouted, shaking the students from their reverie. Those still in the control room were frozen in shock. One minute, All Might was there, the next he was leaping across to the exit. Slowly, they came back to reality and ventured into the terrain. “That was really weird,” Kaminari stated. “Did All Might want to save Bakugou instead?” “Iida, Todoroki, was Bakugou injured during the retrieval?” Yaoyorozu called. “I don’t think Kacchan would get injured. He would’ve fought back if something happened,” Midoriya commented. “Depending on how much he was sweating, he could’ve created an explosion capable of destroying the debris and making the pit bigger. I wonder how much nitroglycerin would be produced at an accelerated rate wherein-” He continued to ramble off while his classmates ignored him in favor of sniffing the air. “What is that?” Uraraka wondered. She took a few more sniffs. “It’s so sweet.” She could feel herself grow agitated and fidgety. Her legs travelled closer to the source, followed by some of her classmates. “Oi, time to change,” a new voice called. Aizawa appeared, bored. However, if one knew him well enough, they would recognize the concern of the events and the effect he felt from the pheromones. Meanwhile, All Might sped around the corners of the school and up flights of stairs until he reached the nurse’s office. His mind was a constant string of not good, not good, not good, not good. WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN NOW? What was the possibility of it occurring now and in one of the most alpha populated areas? It’s been years since an omega presented in this town. None of the kids have experienced an omegas smell. Unless they had family. And even then, this town is too populated to host omegas. “RECOVERY GIRL! WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY!” He finally arrived. Unfortunately he left a trail. That will need to be rectified. Thankfully no one was there aside from the nurse in question. Startled, the small lady dropped from her chair, took a few moments to assess the situation. One sniff is all it took. “Oh dear, oh dear, put him on the bed and barre the door. Do not, under any circumstances let anyone in.” She pulled a drawer out and opened a syringe packet. She filled it with a yellow liquid and pressed it into Bakugou. The passive boy looked to just close his eyes. The scent lessened significantly but still lingered from his entrance. “All Might, you need to get Principal Nezu. Have him call his parents. They’re going to want to discuss the situation. Bakugou cannot stay here surrounded by so many alphas.” He glanced to the now sound asleep boy on the cot. All Might nodded and looked down. He couldn’t help but pity the boy. The normally abrasive teen just laid limp in his arms as he ran here, conscious but not. He could smell the submission. Bakugou had no control over his actions. Especially in the presence of so many alphas. The boy all but just given up. That certainly is not the Bakugou he knows. The poor kid….this is going to change everything for him. He certainly didn’t want to be here when they broke the news to him. Assuming he could still understand them at this point. “All Might. Now is not the time to worry. We don’t know the consequences of an omega presenting so suddenly. Retrieve Nezu and we can converse more.” She shared his expression. Worry. Concern. Pity. Bakugou was a promising student. “Of course. Please excuse me.” He hurried off. “Now, what am I going to do with you?” Recovery Girl mused, looking back to the unconscious boy. The suppressant won’t last forever. It was only meant for presented alphas. She had no idea how long it would last with Bakugou. And with All Might running all over the school he most certainly left a trail. It’s been years since an omega presented in this region of Japan. She could only imagine the consequences. Some banging on the door and the knob jiggled. “Recovery Girl! My classmate here presented! He needs to lie down.” She sighed. She still had a job to do. The minute she stepped outside, three more pairs of students arrived. All of which she smelled new alpha pheromones. “Oh dear…” She was afraid this would happen. All Might really doesn’t think sometimes. “Recovery Girl, I don’t know what’s going on but they just passed out suddenly. Is there some sort of epidemic?” one of the girls asked. She shouldered the other girl more firmly on her back but the older woman recognized some of the smaller signs she herself displayed. Dilated eyes, flaring nostrils, stooped head. Her instincts to hunt had activated. She smelled Bakugou. As did the others. This really was not good. “Recovery Girl, what’s that smell?” More students began to pile into the hallway. “Oh dear…” She sighed. “Alright that’s enough. If you please, direct yourselves to gymnasium A. I’m afraid the room is occupied at the moment. There’s nothing detrimental, just some hormones.” She guided them away from the room. At that moment, All Might reappeared with the principal on his shoulder. Goodness, teenagers were so hormonal. They had no control over themselves. “Hello, hello! What have we here? A mouse? A dog? A bear? Smelling a newly presented omega?” the small creature mused. “I’m afraid that’s the case, principal Nezu. Bakugou Katsuki, to be exact.” “This is quite troubling…the press will be all over us. And poor Bakugou…his mother is on her way. I left his father a voicemail, but as long as one parent comes, it should be ok. All Might, please stay out here and direct all presented students to the gymnasium.” “Yes sir.” When they opened the door, they were overwhelmed by the sweet odor of an omega in heat. Said omega lie on the bed, oblivious to the world. “How many years has it been, Recovery Girl?” Nezu took a seat on one of the cots. “I believe ten years,” the older recounted, a tap to her face in recollection. “The omega at the time was moved immediately to a safety community. There was no consequences to what happened. Her quirk was not hero worthy, as far as I know. So she wasn’t surrounded by this many alphas.” “This is very troubling. Who would have known the number one rank in the freshman class…is an omega.” He tapped his heel against the bedding in thought. “How about some tea?” Recovery Girl frowned. “He’s not going to be able to stay here.” “He will be advised to move to a safer location. However…I don’t believe he will be inclined to listen.” “Perhaps he will listen to his mother.” “For his sake, I hope so.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------ “This way, Mrs. Bakugou. Your son is in the nurse’s office.” “This is ridiculous. MY kid couldn’t possibly be a fucking omega! There’s no fucking omega blood in this family! How could this happen?” Aizawa lead a woman, whose appearance resembled Bakugou Katsuki almost exactly, down the hall. “The principal is waiting for you in there. You can discuss your concerns with him.” “How could this happen?” she demanded. “Are you sure it’s heat? Not a fever?” “If it was a fever we would not have called you to come in right away. I know this is unusual to happen, but there’s no doubt about it.” “Fuck….this is….this is fucking impossible. Why isn’t Masaru here? Why didn’t he pick up his fucking phone?” The teacher gave nothing away. Although…he could see where Bakugou got his foul mouth from. They turned down the hall and saw the symbol of peace directing more kids to the gymnasium. He quietly let Bakugou Mitsuki and Aizawa into the office. The first thing that hit them was the smell. It was pungent from being locked up for so long. But the staff couldn’t risk it. Too many students were presenting at an alarming rate, no doubt from sensing a nearby omega, ready to be taken, ready to be impregnated. Similar thoughts flew in the mother’s mind as she saw her son lying unconscious on the cot. “Oh Katsuki, what fucking mess did you get into this time…” She gazed at his softened face, unaffected by the smell. “It’s risky, Mrs. Bakugou, but I’m afraid your son can’t remain here forever. You must take him to a secure location.” The rodent-like creature began explaining the transportation options and safe houses, but she didn’t want to hear it. She didn’t care. So she shh-ed him and pushed back the white bangs. His skin was feverish with a glowing pink tint, sweat ran down his body and stained the sheets, an obvious tent was popping up, and his breathing was labored. He looked sick, but she knew that he wasn’t. She didn’t want to believe it, but fucking hell the pheromones don’t lie....to think her own son would give off such a needy scent. This wasn’t her Katsuki. “We put him on a suppressant that we use for newly presented alphas. We thought it was better than nothing, but it doesn’t help the same way,” the principal explained. Mitsuki looked up, eyes wet and lips pressed together. “How long will it last?” she asked, kneeling down and brushing more hair back. It’s been a long time since she had to nurse her son. She didn’t raise a bitch that complained. No, she knows the punk she raised but never in her wildest dreams did she expect an omega as well. She couldn’t help but think of how Katsuki will react when he comes to. “At best? Approximately three more hours,” the old woman replied shakily. “Then he must enter his cycle. It’s the healthiest option. He could try to suppress it more but it’s detrimental to a still developing body.” Mitsuki sighed. “I understand. But, I won’t discuss anything further until he’s awake and coherent.” She stood up and glared, albeit there was sorrow that only a mother could conjure. “I agree, Mrs. Bakugou,” Nezu confirmed with a nod and a smile. “We will have a squad take him in a van that’ll cover his pheromones and you can keep him in his room if you so choose. Are you sure you don’t want a safe house? It’s been a decade since an omega presented in this town. The Compounds are designed to protect them and provide products that are clinically proven to hide the scent. This particular population of this town is very unused to dealing with an omega in heat.” “If Katsuki wakes up in an unfamiliar environment, he won’t cooperate. Besides. I want him home. I’ll contact the nearest compound and discuss getting their cleaning supplies.” “Very well. Aizawa, please have a team prepare a van to transport Bakugou Katsuki to his home. And inform the teachers that we are cutting school early today. Once Bakugou Katsuki is out of the premises, we need to usher the other students off the property for cleansing.” “I understand.” He pulled out his phone and exited the room. “Recovery Girl, please stay on stand-by. I fear the scent of an omega on hormonal teenagers is going to cause quite a riot.” “What else would it be, Principal. Is there anything else?” “No, but please do not disturb me while I make an important call.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------ “This is quite a turn of events,” All Might commented, hands on his hips. Aizawa grunted, waiting for the other line to pick up. “It probably wouldn’t have been so bad…if you had just removed Todoroki and Iida instead of Bakugou and leaving a trail all over school. At least then the pheromones would have been contained and the only presented students would be ours. Not the entire school.” The number one hero kept his smile but he was clearly at a loss for words. He scratched at his cheek and his palms grew sweaty. “Ah….yeah…I suppose so…” He was right… “Cleaning crew will really be put to work this week.” He held the phone up to his ear and gave the blond a side glance. Said man stiffened then quickly turned to look down the end of the hall at…nothing…didn’t matter as long as it wasn’t at the shorter man. Chapter End Notes So....comments are appreciated. I love constructive criticism! Or anything! I'm a needy author who loves everything! Also, I have a request for whoever wants to help out! I have two pairings put in my tags and to be honest, I haven't decided on what my end pairing should be. If you want, leave in the comments on what you would like to see and why! Thanks so much for the support! ***** Chapter 3 ***** Chapter Notes Got this done as soon as I could! I wanna keep my updates a weekly thing, but we'll see what happens during the holidays! Next chapter! Some legal talk. Some OC lawyers, but they're unimportant. Please cut me some slack since I had to pretend to be a legal system that isn't mine and in which I am not a lawyer whatsoever. I did the best I could to have it make sense and seem interesting. For those of you who commented last chapter on the couples, I appreciate your help! As a result, I am still unsure. I was starting to sway in kiribaku direction (because I love Kirishima) but then was swarmed with ideas of todobaku and dekubaku! So now, I'm back to square one. Well, lemme know what you think! Ja ne~ Enjoy! See the end of the chapter for more notes Bakugou’s heat lasted a week. An average length. During that week, over fifty students at U.A. Hero Academy presented spontaneously as alphas. As expected, the event was met with a flurry of confusion from the students, parents and press. Principal Nezu sat in his office, ear twitching in irritation. The cleaning crew had been efficient in neutralizing the omega scent but the students exploded in hormones and pheromones in a domino effect. The lawyers in his office argued consistently over the solution to this epidemic. Epidemic, they called it. Nezu sighed and hopped down from his seat and went to the window overlooking the school entrance. He could only imagine what the reporters were demanding to know. He wondered if the Bakugou household was swamped as well. He didn’t dare to even turn on the TV, for fear of any negative reports being repeated. Well, U.A. is well-reputed as the number one hero academy in the world. The amazing All Might himself graduated from here. But he wasn’t concerned over the reputation of the school. Not over something like this. Rather he worried himself over with how the omega would be treated and accepted. It was his lawyers’ jobs to discuss the legal matters. But as far as he was concerned, there was no law against omegas becoming heroes. But that wasn’t the issue. A knock on the door. It revealed Bakugou Mitsuki, Aizawa Shouta, two men he didn’t recognize, and a pouting, rumpled Bakugou Katsuki. He took a quick discreet sniff and was satisfied that he could barely register the newly presented omega. “I trust you entered through the back-way, Aizawa-san?” Nezu questioned. The two lawyers finally stopped bickering. “It’s the only way to get in here with all those reporters being nosy,” the scruffy man replied. On the surface he appeared disinterested, but Nezu knew differently. This was Bakugou’s home teacher after all. “One of you, I believe, is Mr. Bakugou?” the principal asked, holding out his paw. “That would be me. Bakugou Masaru,” the brunet introduced, returning the gesture. “And this is our attorney.” “Watanabe Sora, Civil Rights Attorney. I’m here to represent Bakugou Katsuki and discuss his right to remain a student here at U.A. regardless of secondary sex status.” He held out his hand to the principal as well. “Nice to meet you. How are you feeling, young Bakugou?” The teenager took a look at him before sending a well-managed glare. “Tch.” He looked away. Certainly not a typical omega. He was hit upside the head. “Show some respect, you brat!” “Fucking old hag! I’ll beat your ass!” Quite a family. “Mitsuki, Katsuki, please. Now is not the time to argue.” The teenager glared and crossed his arms, looking away. The woman also looked annoyed but underneath that was concern. She sighed. “How was the heat cycle?” Nezu asked, attempting to diffuse the tension. This caused them all to pause and looked at the student in question once more. He didn’t return the gaze but it was obvious the news was troubling him. Nezu wouldn’t be surprised if he still didn’t believe it was true. “Nothing unmanageable,” the father replied instead. “Unfortunately, a few alphas in the area turned feral and tried to break in, but the police were helpful. Once the heat dissipated, we had the house cleaned and everything returned to normal.” “Tch,” the student snorted. “No matter,” Aizawa replied. “Recovery Girl said most new omegas have their heats irregular but they occur between every two to three months for one week.” “Yes,” Nezu began. “That’s why we’re all here. Mr. and Mrs. Bakugou, young Bakugou, these are two of U.A.’s lawyers assigned to this case. They are here to assess your son’s educational options and plans around the recent events of his heat.” “I’m staying at U.A.” They turned to the boy. He was tired but that fire continued to burn in determination. “I’m going to be the number one hero and you can’t stop me. I’ll beat whoever tries to. I’ll beat ‘em ‘til their entitled asses bleed and they cry like fucking bitches.” Another hit upside the head, but his mother didn’t comment. “I’m afraid that isn’t up to you, son,” one of the lawyers confessed. His rat face smirked. “Otsuka Brendan, Public Interest Attorney.” He held out his hand to the family. “The hell it is!” Mitsuki responded with a glare, swatting him away. “My client is right,” the Watanabe stated, opening up his brief case. “According to the Japanese government, there is no law saying that Bakugou Katsuki cannot continue his education. It is impractical to take him out of the curriculum.” He brought out papers concerning the laws regarding the protection and nature of secondary sexes, as well as the educational system of Japan. “Also according to law,” Otsuka interjected, “an omega must be protected in a secure environment. I’m sorry, but as excellent a facility as U.A. is, it is not that kind of protective location that is meant to provide for omegas. Especially since it is still full of developing teenagers that have yet to gain control of their hormones. Developing alphas, to be specific.” “And betas,” the lawyer continued. “And I don’t know about you, sir, but after the initial presentation of the secondary sex, we are capable of controlling our scent glands. The only time it is erratic is during the heat week. Something that can be regulated.” “There is no concrete proof of such regulation. And with Bakugou’s presentation, he will be a distraction to the other students. It is alpha nature to be drawn to omegas.” “If dumbass hormonal extras don’t know how to control their hormones and keep it in their pants, then they sure as hell aren’t fit to be heroes. Besides, I don’t need fucking protection.” He crossed his arms and glared at the attorneys. Otsuka bristled. “On the contrary, young man, omegas are meant to be protected and the sooner you accept that –“ He stood up and went to grab his collar. “The fuck did you not hear me!?” Aizawa activated his scarf and restrained him. “Fuck! I said I don’t need shitty protection!” He scrambled and thrashed but was effectively subdued. He bared his teeth and seethed. “Katsuki, sit down! You’re embarrassing yourself!” “Don’t tell me what to do!” The brunet lawyer smirked while the others sat in shock. Such a feisty omega. Nezu sighed. This was going to be more complicated than he would like… “Please, let us get back on track,” he insisted. The mother and son were at each other throats, even with the boy under wraps, while their father tried to calm them both. Watanabe just frowned at a loss as did the other attorney. He didn’t like how Otsuka was looking at the boy. Maybe he should have been pickier on who to have represented them. Ah well, he’ll find someone else after this. “Bakugou, sit down,” Aizawa commanded. “This is not helping you. Now, if you want even SOME semblance of a chance of staying here and being number one, then you will sit down and let the lawyers discuss this.” The teen stalled his anger. Slowly, he felt his limbs be set free. He continued to glare, but otherwise sat back down and crossed his arms once more. “As we were discussing,” Watanabe continued, “young Bakugou is right. There is no concrete proof that alphas can’t control themselves. Humans have evolved to not just bow down to our primitive nature. This is the first time an omega has had a powerful and promising quirk that is capable of heroism. And besides, we are here to discuss the legality of the situation.” “I agree,” Nezu added. “We are getting off track. U.A. is the best school in the world with top Pro Heroes teaching here. There is no law that bars an omega from going to this school, learning to be a hero, and becoming certified. U.A. is well known for its security in technology and pro Heroes present.” “Omegas must be in a protected facility. Is U.A. qualified compared to other omega living societies? Or even by a qualified alpha?” Otsuka questioned, smirk still in place. It was very unsettling. Nezu prays he’s the only one who sees it. They all stayed quiet. “Tch.” The blond boy looked away, anger causing him to rattle. “That is something for the courts to define,” Nezu stated. “For the time being, I suggest for Bakugou Katsuki to remain here and be provided a dorm on the far side of the school. I also suggest you to meet with Recovery Girl at the end of every week on your health. She can order and provide some soap and shampoo that are known to help omegas protected under the Compound Association.” The boy glared at him. “This is a nonnegotiable and unfortunately temporary solution. We can discuss later what will happen for heat week. Afterwards, we can reconvene and decide if this course of action was the best. If not…” He left the implication to hang. “Principal Nezu, as one of the legal minds here, I strongly advise against this,” the other lawyer commented finally. She had a much softer face compared to Otsuka. She turned to the Bakugou family. “General Attorney, Yamamoto Yuki. I didn’t have a chance to introduce myself.” She cleared her throat and sent a subtle annoyed glare to the sulking teen. “Regardless of Bakugou Katsuki’s ability to function in a highly alpha favored environment, the press have already begun creating stories on what U.A. is doing. Some of it is positive, but a good amount is negative. Politicians will begin discussing whether or not an omega belongs in a hero academy. Before now, no omega has been qualified to attend a hero academy due to their nature and lack of quirk to manage the entrance exams, so it has not been up for discussion. As a result, it will attract unwanted, negative attention. I suggest we set a court date and discuss this further in an official environment with judges. We should have Bakugou Katsuki out of school to protect U.A.’s reputation. After the politicians have debated this and set a law to either fully protect Bakugou’s education or revoke it. It is in the best interest of U.A. and Bakugou.” Another pause. Nezu gave this some thought. “The negativity can go either way,” Watanabe started. “If we remove him now, the public may accuse U.A. of favoring alphas and are prejudice against omegas becoming heroes. Keeping and suspending him will run either way. Besides, this is not about U.A.’s reputation, it’s about a boy’s education.” During this time Bakugou grew angrier. Who the hell were they to talk about his future? His future. So what if he’s an omega? While he’s still reeling from the thought of it, in the big picture, it didn’t matter. He had one goal and that was to surpass All Might as the number one hero. No one talked about how alpha traits contributed to the symbol of peace’s success. He was just a great hero who won, all the damn time. So why should he be treated any differently? It’s not like those alpha losers could defeat him. His quirk had him at the top of the freshman class. Number one. Where he belongs. As a winner. Therefore, he belonged in the number one school. “It isn’t practical to remove Bakugou Katsuki from the curriculum,” Watanabe added, putting his papers away. “Without presentation, he ranked number one in his quirk skill. He earned his position here. Unless a new law states that omegas are not allowed to attend U.A., it is not illegal for Bakugou Katsuki to remain here.” It pissed Bakugou off that they just talked about him like he wasn’t in the room. But he appreciated, even mildly, that someone had some fucking brains to remember he was strong. “I agree,” Nezu replied. “We do need to set a court date, however. After the second heat. We can’t rush into court without knowing if this is going to be a problem. If there is no legality issues otherwise, Bakugou Katsuki, you shall remain a student under the conditions I set. Are there anymore concerns? Legally?” They remained silent. Otsuka looked like he wanted to add something, but stopped himself. He stole a side glance to the young omega. If he noticed, he didn’t acknowledge him. Yamamoto on the other hand looked distressed. Nezu understood. This is a tricky situation. The reputation of the school takes priority. It’s difficult how the public will react now, when they hear how Bakugou is remaining a student here. Or how the students and parents will react. “Very good. Aizawa-san, I trust you to keep an eye on Bakugou. Mr. and Mrs. Bakugou, I will give you a few days to gather your son’s possessions and move them here. Bakugou, you will be escorted to your room immediately. Make yourself comfortable.” Chapter End Notes I dunno, I was kinda iffy on this chapter. I was especially super nervous because I'm not so great with legal talk. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but...please be gentle. I'll probably keep the end pairing a secret (when I decide on it) until the end, but will most definitely have a harem x Bakugou for a while as well as a nice mixture of the pairings in the tags. Anyway, I appreciate the support! I would like next chapter to be up in a week, but with Christmas coming up, I'll do the best I can. I do enjoy writing this after all, Even if I'm not the greatest at writing. End Notes Comments are appreciated! Please drop_by_the_archive_and_comment to let the author know if you enjoyed their work!
