The junior wasn't someone you just didn't notice, didn't realize was there or hadn't heard of. Everyone knew who Yoongi was. Including his gay, closeted, soft heart that was damaged but still beating red-hot blood. So he does what any boy in love would do when it turns out that his crush of who-knows-how-long reciprocates his feelings with quite the amount of credence; carve their initials into the trunk of his favorite tree. Notes This story mostly is about young and first love, which in the end shall stay open-minded as to whether or not they stay together throughout their school and adult-years. But it does touch on very important and series issues/topics, such as child abuse; homophobia; transphobia; racism; depression and anxiety; and existential crises. If any of those topics are too sensitive for you to read, please do not read. I don't go into depth, but it will be stated and more than likely confirmed and dealt with. This will overall be fluffy and cute, I'm trying to write something so sweet and lovey-dovey that it physically hurts, but I do want this to be at least a little realistic and relatable. Just because it's fanficion doesn't mean that it's bullshit. Anyways, thank you, and I hope you enjoy. See the end of the work for more notes    There's a difference between knowing you're gay and being okay with it, and knowing you're gay and knowing that you could get your ass beat more than usual for it.       It's quite the situation, laying in Taehyung's large, light brown palms. As if being an immigrant wasn't bad enough, know he has to be gay on top of that. As if being seen as stupid was bad; of being a drama geek, which was apparently something to be very ashamed of. His nerdy likes also didn't help the virgin vibes emanating off of him. Not that he cared that he's never been in any type of relationship that wasn't familial or purely platonic. Nothing to be ashamed of at all; he wasn't going to spray paint it on some wall any time soon, but he wasn't going to cry that he wasn't 'getting some,' either.      Jimin, his best friend, didn't care, either. Which was awesome. He knew, when they had met back in seventh grade, that Jimin was special. And every day he spent with the chubby-cheeked cutie, he was proven right.      His phone spasms with a text by his head. It was throbbing, the bruise on his eye, which would blossom into a purple-black half circle tomorrow. One of thee good things about being in drama was the over-usage of makeup, which came in handy in the worst way.      He gathers the energy, lethargic as it is, to pick up his phone, drag his thumb to unlock the screen with his personal pattern, and press on Jimin's message.   Chimmy 19:44>>> did u hear the news ???       God, he hated it when Jimin proved that he was texting through the way he wrote the grammar in his messages. It only got worse when he used only emoticons, though he guessed that there were way worse of things a friend could do.   Taehyung 19:46<<< No?      He had barely pressed reply when his phone vibrated again, the buzzing noise the only sound going throughout his room. He'd learned a long time ago how to keep silent, even his breaths. He'd also learned to not get so annoyed when Jimin did that.   Chimmy 19:46>>> yoongi, the guy you jack off 2. is apparently going to be in that once science class you're in !!!   Chimmy 19:47>>> *one      Taehyung rolled his eyes before his brain took in that bit of possibly truthful information---could Yoongi, the boy he's liked since his family moved from Korea to America, be transferring into his A.P. Chem. class? Would it be possible that he'd sit next to him? Would they become friends? Would it start from sharing notes to sharing phone numbers? Or would Tae's wit win Yoongi over?      Not even relatively possible, but whatever. If Taehyung wasn't allowed to dream at the very least, he didn't know what he could or would do. Other than deal with the hand that life had given him, that is, but whatever. He wasn't in drama for his calm composure, that's for sure.      He sends Jimin a thank you for the actually helpful information, because it makes him forget tonight's hardships and bruises, both internal and external.     ===============================================================================        It did get annoying, the stares. The whispers and rumors. People thinking that he was some kind of ruthless and mean thug or something with an attitude bigger than his already large hands. But he wasn't like that---Taehyung was a big softy, sensitive and squishy on the inside, heart bigger and warmer then others would expect it to be given his home life, but if it kept others from messing with him then he'd act like the biggest edgelord he could possibly be.       It was nice having someone know he wasn't a bad person, though. His mother and little sister did, but he couldn't play with them or anything---his household was too delicate to hold onto anything like laughter or love, which were heavy and all-consuming. It was why he was glad that he knew Jimin. He knew about the... what was going on, at Taehyung's house, and he knew better than to try and even blink in the direction of trying to help them.       He also knew that Taehyung was in desperate need of love and friendship and hugs and soft kisses, and so was he, which had started their reign of being 'platonic soulmates.' Which was awesome, Taehyung couldn't ask for anything else. So when Jimin gave his sister, mother and himself phones added to his family's data plan so that they weren't isolated from the outside-world on top of hurt, it literally made Taehyung cry.      So, Jimin wanting to help even more, with Taehyung's 'Yoongi-issue' (as Jimin named it), Taehyung felt light-headed. He felt like he was king of the world, his throat full of helium instead of swallowing down and upheaving air and carbon dioxide. He tried to calm himself down, though, as he walked up the front stairs to his high school. He didn't react or make it his purpose to look at those eyeing him, instead going straight to Jimin's locker, close to his own like he did every other school day.       Jimin was trying to 'sneakily' go through his Instagram feed, though if his big bum wiggling didn't make someone look over and his pretty humming, then the sparkly phone with Ariel as his cover would bring upon a teacher's attention. "Jiminnie," he says softly, yet a bit rough, when he gets to Jimin's side, making sure that when his shoulder hit the locker beside his best friend's that it made an almost too-loud slam. Which, at barely---if possible---seven in the morning, meant that it was actually too-loud.       Jimin was used to this greeting though, as abrupt and quite rude as it was. He tried to glare at him every morning, though, pretty brown eyes squinting more than glaring at him from behind big black glasses. Taehyung had wanted those glasses but instead had to get rectangular, golden-rimmed ones because, in Jimin's eloquent words, he looked like a 'try-hard.' The glasses he did end up getting but rarely ever wore made him look 'daddy' (again, in Jimin's words, not his).      "Tae-Tae, you've seriously gotta stop doing that. And getting in fights, look at your eye!" He exclaims, which really meant that he had to report his father. When had he ever gotten into a fight, which implied it being two people hitting each other? Not just one person?      Taehyung shook his head, face a cold and indifferent mask but Jimin and he knew that really in those chocolate orbs of his that he was terrified to do so, that even though his father really was---whether he's always been or became a piece of shit---he meant somehow too much to him. He knew that his siblings and mother felt the same, even if it was misguided and possibly insane-like to think so.       "Nah," he says, not wanting to have this conversation once again. Why couldn't they just talk about the new Attack on Titan season that was about to come out? Or perhaps about their favorite Korean idols? Maybe even some new gay romance novel that had Jimin wanting to exclaim about how the sex scenes either weren't raunchy enough or lacked love. "Nope, not gonna happen. Sorry Christian."      "Oh my god," Jimin groans, sweet voice turning raspy and low. "I told you that I like that name once, and you'll never let me forget it, will you?" He whines, letting Taehyung get away with changing the subject. He oughta know better by now than to bring that topic up this early in the morning.       "Nope." He repeats, voice more bubbly than it usually would be at school, but whatever---like anyone was really paying attention to anything this early in the morning, not day. If the sun wasn't even out, it wasn't daytime.       "Oh, what do you know," Jimin starts off in a nonchalant tone, springing up and away from his locker with too much of a spring in his step. It kind of scares Taehyung, in a dreadful way like a pop quiz or a surprise visit from someone you used to be friends with would. "Oh, over yonder---it's your boy love, look-y there," he continues, even going so far as to point and wave in Yoongi's direction.       "Freaking stop it! Don't do that, Jimin," Taehyung whispers harshly, grabbing at Jimin's surprisingly toned arm with both of his hands, glaring at his best friend. Or trying to, it wasn't easy to be harsh with Jimin. Looking up, he's relieved to see its Yoongi's back facing him, and that none of his friends are there---at least, he thinks that it's Yoongi's back. It just might be some other emo-skater boy that was short and thin and had a cute butt.      "I'm just joking, Tae-Tae. Chill out. The twink didn't notice your disappointment ruining your life." Jimin laughs, making people look up towards their approaching direction, still walking to their first period class.       "Screw you." Taehyung grumbles. "Telling me to chill out," he mumbles, and no, he isn't pouting, he's just... annoyed. No he isn't.       Ugh, sometimes being Jimin's bestest friend and soulmate was difficult. He felt bad for whoever he ended up marrying him, because they weren't going to have as much fun as they initially would've thought.    ===============================================================================        A.P. Chem. was Taehyung's fifth class of the schoolday in his second semester, after his lunch hour, rain starting to patter against the windows, what with them being in Oregon and it still being winter. Taehyung really only had one winter jacket, two jackets in his closet in total (along with himself; god, he loved gay humor). It was a dark green parka with no hood, with patches on the arms and cigarette burns marking the shoulders and chest and sleeve endings. He knew that it was pretty ratty and made others think even more that he was some sort of bad influence somehow, but when you're poor (well, mostly-- -his father really could've treated his family out to dinner, he had more than enough money to do so), you learn how to adapt to not being in style and dealing with what you got.       He had his pen and notebook out, quite literally ready to learn. As he thumbed through his textbook, wanting to get a head start on the assignment his teacher had given them, he remembered why he had good dreams last night.       "Ah, Yoongi, I'm glad that you were able to find my class; most get here half-way into the lesson because of how backwater it is," the teacher jokes, but everyone is aware of how truthful that statement is; it was in the old science building, behind the new parking lot, in the top floor and the way back of the hall. Also was the only class in this building; some people weren't even aware that this building was school property.       Taehyung looked up to see his boy love, as Jimin dubbed Yoongi (they both had quite the list of nicknames for the shorter male). His hair was slightly matted from either rain or the static-like air, face harshly pale with the apples of his cheeks reddening ever so gently. He looked more sleepy than usual, and if it didn't make Taehyung just want to take a nap with him he didn't know what would.       Yoongi didn't respond other than with an awkward half-smile and a head nod towards the science book the teacher must've held and set aside for him.       "You can go sit with Taehyung over there, by the window. The assignment is on the board, if you have any questions just ask him or me, don't be afraid to ask," she continues, not bothering to point in his direction---there weren't many other Asians in this school.       Yoongi looked in his direction, eyes roaming him for a few long seconds that bled into hours, it felt like, before he grabbed his book and made his way to the empty seat beside him. And if the sight of his slim hips swaying and puffy lips pouting didn't have Tae's heart beat practically out of his ribcage, he didn't know what would. He didn't seem to know a lot of things, apparently.      The ravenette sits beside him, quickly getting to the page where the questions laid, and started doing his work, no words exchanged between them. He hadn't even looked back at him since he sat down. Which, yeah, alright, wasn't fun and kinda hurt, but it was okay. It was fine. He'd rather it be kind of awkward and definitely quiet between them then having Yoongi verbally abuse him and hate him.       He doesn't know if he'd be able to take another person he felt fondly of being like that to him, but perhaps he had a chance to change Yoongi's mind on whatever opinion he had of him before it could get to that point.
