Notes See the end of the work for notes ***** Incident *****      Hinata Shouyou, age 16, Karasuno's decoy, takes the city bus to school every morning. It's a normal thing for him, the bus driver even knows him by name. It's not anything new when a new person starts taking the bus or disappears, but Hinata got bad vibes from this new passenger.      He'd seen him for the past couple days, a tall, stocky guy with an unkempt beard. He always seemed drowsy, or hungover, maybe both. Hinata hopped up as the bus showed up at his stop, the doors swinging open. He thanked the bus driver, glancing around the bus quickly before leaving. He shivered when his feet hit the cement; it was freezing! He turned around to watch the bus drive away with his jacket that he'd left on the seat. Well, at least that's what he tried to do, but he rudely bumped into someone standing right behind him.      "Oh! Sorry!" He quickly stepped back and bowed apologetically, noticing the man had plain tennis shoes with mismatched socks.      "You're fine," The man replied, waving off Hinata's apology, "R’you a high schooler? Isn't it a Saturday?"      "Um, yeah! I'm going to be the ace on my volleyball team!" Hinata beamed, looking up into the stranger's hazel eyes. He seemed decent for someone who looked so shady on the bus. Hinata checked the time on his phone.      "What time d'ya gotta be there?" He asked, putting a hand in his pocket and fiddling with something that might be keys or a lighter, from the sound of it.      Hinata hesitated, turning a bit, "I... I have friends waiting for me there right now." This man might be nice, but he was still a stranger and Hinata didn't want to take any risks. No one was going to be at the gym for another 30 minutes.      "I'm gonna g-" Hinata was cut off when he turned around to leave, a cold hand covering his mouth. He immediately went to twist out of the man's grasp, yet froze completely when he felt something sharp jab his lower back.      "Hush," The stranger's voice was down to a whisper right by Hinata's ear, and he could smell the alcohol on his breath, "Don't make a sound and follow me."      Hinata stared wide-eyed at the bus stop bench in front of them, hands shaking. He winced when he felt a harder jab at his back, taking in a shuddering breath when the stranger took his hand off of his mouth, wrapping his arm over Hinata's shoulders, "Yeah, let's walk, kiddo."      Hinata looked at the ground, at his feet. He was much smaller than this stranger. What does he want with me? I don’t even know him! He clenched his teeth as the man pulled him along, walking the opposite way of the school.      "Haven't seen a kid like you in a while, how old are you? Sixteen?"      Hinata shook his head.      "Seventeen?"      He shook his head again.      "Oh, fifteen?"      Hinata kept silent. He was scared.      "You're a minor, then," The stranger walked with a sort of swagger that made him seem completely at ease, like this was an everyday walk-and-talk with a buddy, "Turn," He said, voice kind but it was obviously not a request. They turned onto a smaller street, lined with businesses that weren't going to open for another long while. Hinata whimpered.      "Oh, shut up." The man jabbed him again and picked up their pace, soon turning down an alleyway, through a gate with a broken lock.      Hinata jolted when he heard the gate shut with a clang, looking at his surroundings with blurry eyes. What if I'm being kidnapped? What do I do?      They were in what looks like it used to be a kind of dumpster garage, wedged between two brick buildings, a plastic sheet held up on metal bars to act as a roof. If it ever was used for trash, it was well cleaned up, save for used cigarettes and empty alcohol bottles scattered around.      Hinata gasped as he was pushed roughly against one of the building walls, squirming, fear turning itself into tears as his vision warped further.      "Let go of me!" He shouted, voice cracking. The stranger smacked his head against the wall, hard. Hinata made a whining sound, face contorted into a grimace, "I said let-" He was pulled away from the wall for a quick moment before being slammed onto it again.      "I said shut up!" The man raised his voice, causing Hinata to go completely silent, "Stay there." He grumbled. Hinata heard him light a cigarette, the ashy scent wafting around his face. Hinata shifted his leg a small bit, wanting to turn around to see his captor.      "Don't move," The stranger hissed and Hinata stopped. His face was smushed up against the wall, a wetness on his cheeks- he was crying. He flinched when he felt cold hands pull his sweater and shirt up, sliding up his sides, "Damn," The man muttered. Hinata concealed a sob in the back of his hand when the man kissed the back of his neck.      "No, no, no, no, no, no..." Hinata kept mumbling against his hand, interrupted by short, quiet sobs every few breaths.      "Shhhh," The man pressed his hips against Hinata's backside. "I'm not usually into guys," He went on, talking in a low voice, yet it somehow seemed chatty.      "Stop," Hinata whispered. The stranger ignored him.      "You're as small as a girl," The man snaked his hands up to Hinata's nipples and pinched lightly. Hinata turned his head and sobbed. "It'll feel great," the man drug out his words, puffing smoke out with every phrase.      "You're drunk," Hinata whimpered, "Please let go."      The man put one leg between Hinata's, pushing him closer to the wall. He ground his erection into Hinata's hip, "It's gonna feel good," The man took one hand away to crush his half-smoked cigarette against the wall next to Hinata's head. Hinata shook, mostly from fear of what was going to happen.      The stranger took his other hand away, though Hinata was not about to relax. He heard the man pull a short zipper and the sound of clothes ruffling. He hiccuped when the man pulled Hinata's sweatpants and boxers down at once, not uncovering his privates completely. The man crouched, using his broad hands to squeeze Hinata's cheeks and spread them. Hinata bit the back of his hand, afraid that if he spoke the stranger would jab him in the back again and actually hurt him.      "You know what's good for you, don't ya?" The man whispered, his thumb sliding over to press at Hinata's hole. Hinata tensed. The man ran his thumb down, pressing at the sensitive patch of skin behind Hinata's balls.      "Please no," Hinata said through his teeth, biting harder onto his hand. The man didn't pay any mind to him and stuck his pointer finger in Hinata's hole to the first knuckle. Hinata squeezed his eyes shut, breathing heavily through his nose as he cried harder, staying quiet.      "Just take it," The man said before pushing his finger in deeper until it was as far as it could go. He pulled his finger out to the tip, standing again, "Be a good girl," He whispered, licking a wet stripe up the cuff of Hinata's ear. The stranger pushed his finger back in, curling it and pulling out again. He added a second finger.      "Stop," Hinata gasped, voice dying off. He wrinkled his nose at the painful stretch when the man started scissoring his fingers. The man soon added a third, a lack of lubricant making Hinata's skin burn. The stranger pulled his fingers out. Hinata heard him spit on his hand a couple times. He squeezed his eyes shut, mentally crying for help. Anybody, please.      Hinata whimpered when he felt something much larger than a finger prod at his hole, tasting blood on his tongue. He'd bit his hand too hard. He felt the man push into him, a gross, nauseating feeling hitting his gut. It hurts. It hurts!      The want to puke came to Hinata as the man groaned and kissed the back of his neck again. He pulled out and slammed back into Hinata after a pause, setting a very slow yet very harsh pace. With every thrust Hinata was pushed against the wall harder, scraping his cheek and brow. He wanted a distraction. He wanted to throw up, too.      The sound of rain starting to fall surrounded Hinata. Droplets falling on the plastic roof, the cement, the old wooden gate. He heard a truck drive by, tires making a quiet splashing noise, engine muting the world momentarily. He heard a crow caw. Practice would be starting now.      Sugawara and Daichi would be wondering where he was. Kageyama would think he slept in too late or missed the bus. Tanaka and Noya would shrug it off and run after Kiyoko as she made her way to the gym. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi would be walking in with a shared umbrella. Ennoshita would be pulling out the ball carts and setting up the net with Daichi and Asahi. Takeda Sensei would be asking Coach Ukai where he was.      The rain came down harder, a consistent thrumming on the plastic roof, the slap of skin on skin dulled out by the water. It was painful. The dry friction made his whole lower body shake, legs tense. Hinata had stopped crying now, tired and unable to make more tears come. He balled his hands into fists as the man picked up pace, becoming more vocal yet still quiet.      "You feel so great," The man growled, pulling Hinata's hips back with every thrust, biting his shoulder through the fabric. The man gave Hinata no warning before he pushed in as far as he could go and came, then humped shallowly as he softened. Hinata felt his stomach twist, a sour taste at the back of his tongue. When the stranger pulled out and let go of him, Hinata's legs gave out and he slumped down on the wall, feeling a sticky warmth run slowly between his legs. He turned to the side and threw up what he had for breakfast, heaving and holding his stomach.      By the time he was done, there was no trace of the bus stranger besides the leftover cigarettes and alcohol bottles on the ground. He stared at nothing, shaking from the cold and from the shock. He heaved again when he shifted to get to his feet, feeling the sticky liquid pour out of him and onto his thigh before dripping off.   ----        Kageyama Tobio, age 16, Karasuno’s setter, got a call from Hinata's mom on Tuesday. Hinata hadn't been at practice on Saturday, been at the city court on Sunday, nor in school on Monday. The only thing Hinata's mother explained was that he wasn't going to be in school this week because ‘something happened.’ Kageyama frowned and texted Hinata for the first time since he was missing from practice.      03.57pm: Where have you been?      He shoved his phone in his pocket and laid back on his bed, staring at his ceiling. Hinata hadn't been acting weird at all, and he certainly hadn't been sick Friday. What happened?      His phone buzzed with a simple reply from Hinata:      ->03.59pm: Something happened, I'm sorry I won't be at school or practice for a while      Kageyama scrunched up his nose and texted back almost immediately.      03.59pm: Something happened?      -> 04.01pm: Yeah      04.01 Well what happened, idiot      -> 04.05: Sorry      04.06: Why are you being weird?      Kageyama waited for a reply, daydreaming lightly. He stared at the wall across the room. Why's Hinata being really weird now? He wasn't before. He never apologizes so many times. Did something serious happen? Did someone die? Is he okay? Kageyama sighed and sat up when his phone buzzed; Hinata was calling.      "Hey," He answered, standing up.      "H.. Hey." Hinata sounded like he was trying to keep quiet. His voice was tired and unenthusiastic.      "So really just 'something happened'? Did you hurt yourself or something? Your mom wasn't very helpful when she called, she just said the same exact thing. You know how much you have to catch up with practice and school?"      He was met with silence for a while, then a sniffle, "I'm sorry Kageyama, I'm- I c-c... I can't tell you." He sounded like he was on the verge of crying- then again, it could just be the phone's audio quality.      "Tell me what? Is it serious? You better not be quitting the team. I would kill you." He said in a serious tone, although he was trying to joke (not really).      There was silence again, like Hinata had pulled the phone away from his face. Kageyama heard someone sobbing as if they were trying to hold themselves back from crying and paced a bit in his room.      "Hinata?"      "I'm-" Hinata brought the phone back to his ear, "I'm sorry, I-" He sniffled and let out a quiet, long murmur, "God, I can't stop crying, I'm sorry-"      "What the hell, Hinata..." Kageyama mumbled, squinting out his window. His parents were home and probably able to drive him to Hinata's house.      "I'm going over," Kageyama stated flatly and hung up, shoving his phone in his pocket and yelling downstairs to his dad.      "I need a ride to Hinata's house."      "Why?" His father replied from the kitchen.      "Something's up."      "What?"      "Something is wrong with Hinata...”      "Tobio- Ugh, I can't hear you, get down here and talk to me."      Kageyama walked down two at a time, stumbling onto the main floor, "Something's up with Hinata."      "Oh. Well sure, I can drive you. Is your mom okay with it?"      "Yes, I'm fine with it," Kageyama's mother called from the couch in the living room.      "Thank you!" Kageyama hurried and pulled his shoes on, rushing out the door. Of course, his father took his time before getting outside a few minutes later, a cloudy sky bringing cold weather. They got in the car and drove.      When Kageyama arrived at Hinata's house, he said a quick thank you before rushing to the door, knocking, and waiting. With no response and his dad already gone, he called Hinata.      "Open your door."      "What?"      "I'm at your house, unlock the door, Hinata,"      "I-I- My mom isn't home."      "I've been here when she wasn't here before, do I have to break in?"      "Please don't! I'm coming." Hinata said, and Kageyama ended the call when he heard the lock on the door turn.      The moment the door opened, he stepped in and mumbled a polite "pardon the intrusion" out of habit. He took off his shoes and strode into Hinata's house, going upstairs to his bedroom. Hinata followed silently.      "What happened?" Kageyama asked dully without looking at his best friend.      "I told you I.. I said I can't tell you," Hinata's voice pitched higher towards the end of the sentence, followed by a sniffle and his clearing his throat.      Kageyama turned and looked down at Hinata, putting his hand on top of Hinata's head. He watched Hinata flinch- he was probably expecting Kageyama to squeeze. Instead, Kageyama just pat down his ruffled hair.      "Are you okay, Shouyou?" Kageyama asked in a quiet voice.      Hinata shook his head, muttered a quiet “no” and started to cry again, vowels bubbling up in his throat. He cried loudly and Kageyama didn't know what to do other than pull Hinata into a hug. Hinata clutched Kageyama's shirt in both hands and pressed his forehead to his friend's shoulder.      Kageyama stared at the door frame, holding Hinata tightly. He let Hinata grab at him and cry on him and probably get tears and snot on his shirt. They stood like that for a while. Eventually, Hinata calmed down and dropped his arms, tired, leaning away from Kageyama. They put a couple steps between each other, Hinata's face was red from crying and his eyes were puffy, tears still streaking down his cheeks and dripping off of his nose and chin.      "I want to... I want... To tell yo.. you." Hinata stumbled over his words, bottom lip trembling. He was forcing himself not to break down again.      "You don't have to."      "I was... I was..." Hinata drew in a breath, staring at the wall behind Kageyama's head, "Um..."      "Start at the beginning?" Kageyama suggested and sat on the bed, leaning back against the headboard. Hinata sat next to him and nodded, rocking himself absentmindedly.      "I got off the bus, um, this guy was following me. He brought me.. away from the school and he..." Hinata hiccuped, "He touched me?" He laughed nervously, thinking it probably sounded weird. It was weird, he reminded himself.      Kageyama was watching Hinata with a grave expression, eyes intense. He was livid with whoever made Hinata so out of character.      "H-He basically um, did things I didn't want him to do," Hinata finalized, pulling at the fabric of his blanket.      "What did he do?" Kageyama asked in a steady tone. He was livid.      "I- Um, he, um,"      "You don't have to answer that, I asked out of nowhere," Kageyama apologized.      "He raped me," Hinata whispered.      The room was deafeningly quiet.      Kageyama's fingernails dug small crescents into his palms as he processed what Hinata just said. How would it even work with two guys?      "He raped you?"      "... Yeah." Hinata said tiredly, on the verge of breaking down again and becoming a complete mess, "I'm sorry I-"     "Don't be sorry!" Kageyama stopped him, "Just... Don't be sorry about this. Any of this."      Hinata looked at Kageyama with wide eyes, holding his stare before leaning over and laying his head on the setter's shoulder, "Thank you."      Kageyama nodded warily and leaned his head on Hinata's, listening to his staggered breaths smoothing out as he fell asleep. Kageyama closed his eyes and waited for the same fate.        Later that night, Hinata's mother found them sleeping like that after a worried call from Kageyama's father. Kageyama and Hinata spent the rest of Wednesday together and Kageyama went back to school on Thursday, while Hinata only went to practice the rest of the week. ***** Routine ***** Chapter Summary He closed his eyes and listened to Kageyama's steady heartbeat, throat feeling tight. He grumbled something incoherent as he felt a warm tear soak into Kageyama's shirt, wetting his cheek. Kageyama kept quiet, running a hand through Hinata's hair slowly. This, too, was part of the routine. Chapter Notes heyyyy y'allllllll it's continuing!!! i'm trying to make this sorta angsty but at the same time i really want to make this a resolve from the last chapter.... i guess you could read these as one shots but then it wouldn't really make any sense also!! in further news, i hc hinata as a celiac which is why he only gets pork buns from ukai's store, and that he's ace :') See the end of the chapter for more notes - Six months later - A few weeks until summer break. Hinata was doing alright in his classes, and Kageyama wasn't doing any better. They'd been even more inseparable than before what their families call "the incident." "Kageyama," Hinata grabbed at the taller boy's practice jersey, "Get me out of here," He whispered. Kageyama nodded and scouted a path to the gym door, waving to Nishinoya, the team's vice-captain, that they had to leave. Ever since the team went to nationals for the second time, this time under team captain Ennoshita, the practice gym has been crowded with sport-savvy teenagers wanting to watch the endless rallies and exercises the team does. And crowds, ever since, have made Hinata unbearably anxious. In fact, nearly everything makes Hinata anxious now. Being alone, being in a crowd, being with classmates who are taller than him, shorter than him, and worst of all, meeting strangers. Even if he was introducing himself to opposing teams, he'd get nervous; more nervous than he used to, that is. He held onto the back of Kageyama's shirt as they snaked out of the stuffy gym, blatantly ignoring any student who tried to ask them if they were that "freak duo" that was on the local news, or if Kageyama really was the best setter in the prefecture, or if Hinata really was the little giant. Hinata squatted near the bike rack and rubbed his face with his palms, heart beating quick. I'm out of there, I'm okay, it's okay, no one is touching you, no one is staring at you, you're fine. You're okay. Kageyama watched Hinata silently, eyebrows turned up with worry. This was starting to become a routine. They'd walk out of the gym if Hinata started to feel "squished" and come to the bike rack to calm down. Kageyama sat on Hinata's bike, "Need to go home?" "Yeah," Hinata looked up at him, "Guueehhh!" He wiped at his eyes with his sleeves, "I'm not gonna cry, I swear, not this time." "You..." Kageyama wondered for a moment if he should say something nice, something out of character, but decided against it, "you better not start crying. You soaked through my jacket yesterday." "Ugh," Hinata watched Kageyama unlock the bike from the rack and face it the right way, "Your parents are home during the day, right?" "My mom is," Kageyama tapped the kickstand up. "Can we go to your house?" "Yeah, get on, dweeb," Kageyama said with a sidelong glance to Hinata as he sat on the seat behind Kageyama. It took 15 short minutes to get to Kageyama's house, Hinata's bubbly babbling starting up after they got inside. He was already feeling much better, though he still kept close to Kageyama's side as he mumbled a cursory apology and said hello to Kageyama's mother. "Spending the night, dear?" Kageyama's mom glanced over the back of the couch to the boys. "If it's okay with you, mom," Kageyama looked down at Hinata, "and you." "I'll call my mom and ask," Hinata smiled warily and got out his phone. He jumped up the stairs as he put his phone to his ear. "What's up, honey?" A calming voice broke the incessant ringing on the other end of the call. "Um, nothing," Hinata closed Kageyama's bedroom door quietly, alone in his room, "Kageyama's mom was wondering if I was going to spend the night." "You're at Tobio's place again?" "Yes, mom." "Well, if it's alright with her. Call me before you go to bed, do you have food?" "Um, I'll ask if they do. I'll go to the store on my bike if they don't. I'll call you tonight, bye mom," Hinata glanced up silently as Kageyama walked in and shut the door quietly behind him. They stared at each other until the end of the phone call. "Love you, Shouyou," Hinata's mother said happily, "Your grades are looking good, I'm proud of you, sweetie." "Thanks, mom. Love you, too. Bye-bye," Hinata smiled warmly and hung up, sitting on the edge of Kageyama's bed, "So," "So," Kageyama echoed, "My mom went to the store to get food that you can eat." "She left?" Hinata's pupils got small. "I locked the door and closed the window downstairs, don't worry." Kageyama stepped out of the room, "Did you bring clothes to change into?" He called from the bathroom across the hallway. "Uh, nope!" Hinata shed his shirt, "I'm gonna steal your clothes, though." "Ew, they're way too big for you, and you stink." "Too bad!" Hinata had already thrown off his practice shirt and shorts and had put on a black hoodie of Kageyama's and some red sweatpants he found in the dresser next to his bed. "You're gonna shower right?" Kageyama walked back in, practice clothes folded in his hand, wearing a sweater and shorts. "Probably," Hinata shrugged, "This hoodie is really scratchy." "You're supposed to wear a shirt under it, stupid, Kageyama punched Hinata's shoulder. "Ow," Hinata replied in a dramatic voice, falling on Kageyama's bed and pulling one side of the blanket as he rolled into a burrito. Kageyama sat beside him. "You're gonna stay in the club, right?" Kageyama asked quietly, almost like he didn't want to say it out loud. Hinata poked his head out of the blanket to stare at Kageyama, his fluffy orange hair flattened against the top of his head by the covers. "Probably." "Probably?" "Yeah," He scooted up to sit on his knees while still in the blanket, "Probably." Kageyama frowned. "You should go take a shower or something," He muttered after a hesitation, pulling a volleyball out from under his bed and laying down. "... Yeah." Hinata murmured and jumped off the bed, shedding the blanket and leaving the room. - By the time Kageyama's mother returned, both boys had showered and gotten into clothes that were relatively comfy. They jumped down the stairs and Kageyama welcomed her home as they both sat on the couch. "You boys gonna watch a movie?" She hummed, setting the brown paper bags on the counter. "No," Hinata answered, "Volleyball rallies from this year's nationals!" "Oh, alright, then. I got you fish sticks for tonight and some breakfast sandwiches for tomorrow morning." "Thank you Mrs. Kageyama," Hinata smiled, spotting the gluten-free label on a box Kageyama's mother had pulled out and set on the counter. "I bought you boys some meat buns from your coach's store, too," She said nonchalantly. Hinata gasped and leapt off the couch, sprinting to the kitchen, "Pork buns?" He asked excitedly. "Yes," Kageyama's mother chuckled, "Gluten free, for both of you." "Thank you!" Kageyama and Hinata said in unison, though Kageyama wasn't as thrilled. - After dinner, the two were allowed to stay up and watch movies in the front room. They curled up on the couch, leaning against each other. Hinata hugged his knees and giggled at something that happened in the movie, but Kageyama wasn't paying attention. "It's not that funny," He mumbled offhandedly, resting his head on top of Hinata's. "I mean I guess. I like it," Hinata replied, his smile melting into his words, "I've seen this movie like five times and it's pretty funny." "You're such a nerd, Shouyou," Kageyama snorted. They'd been close friends for a while and first names weren't a big deal. Hinata sat up. "Oh yeah, well Tobio, you're a dork for Iwaizumi-senpai." "Um, excuse you," Kageyama feigned disdain, "It's more like Iwaizumi-sama." Hinata laughed and pushed Kageyama over, using his chest as a pillow. "Hey," Hinata said in a quieter voice, looking up at Kageyama, "Thanks." Kageyama raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "For?" Hinata moved around until they were both more comfortable before answering. "For helping me get over it. So, um, thanks?" He squinted and looked away, a blush of embarrassment flushing his nose and cheeks, "This is super stupid to say but, um, yeah, thanks. And I love you for that. Yeah." Kageyama sat in silence for a moment, putting his arms around Hinata in a loose hug, "Me too. I love you too. Not in, like, uh, a weird way, or anything." "Obviously not," Hinata said into Kageyama's chest, muffled because he was being held against the other boy. Hinata unpinned his arms from underneath him and returned the hug, sighing into Kageyama. He closed his eyes and listened to Kageyama's steady heartbeat, throat feeling tight. He grumbled something incoherent as he felt a warm tear soak into Kageyama's shirt, wetting his cheek. Kageyama kept quiet, running a hand through Hinata's hair slowly. This, too, was part of the routine. Hinata heard himself weeping, all short sobs and loud sniffles. He cried into Kageyama's shirt, balling his hands into fists, breathing quickly as he tried to be calm, calm, calm. He hated that word. He hated his anxiety. He hated panicking over something that happened half a year ago. He heard Kageyama say something, felt him sit up, felt his arms hold onto him tighter. He felt the gentle, soft kisses on his forehead and cheeks. Hinata furrowed his eyebrows together, grimacing. He pulled back a little bit, "Why?" He looked at Kageyama, the rims around his eyes puffy and irritated. "Why did you do that?" Kageyama shrugged his shoulders up, feeling guilty for messing up the routine. He looked to the side of where Hinata sat, face getting pink, "I don't know," He said quietly, "I just.. I don't know, I felt like it and um, I'm sorry. I should've asked." Hinata stood up silently and turned off the television, wiping his face with the sleeve of Kageyama's hoodie. He just stood for a while, staring at the floor in the dark room, Kageyama watching his back. Hinata frowned and left, walking up the stairs. Kageyama heard his bedroom door shut. He sighed, putting both hands on his face. Kageyama should've known that would be a bad idea. He should've known that Hinata would react badly, that it was a trigger for Hinata, that it was gay and Hinata wasn't into that, that it probably repulsed him if anything. He tugged on his hair and groaned, waiting a while before getting up and going up to his room. "Hinata?" He called quietly, hand hovering over the door handle, "Are you okay?" Hinata replied with an almost silent "yeah", knees hugged to his chest as he curled up against the wall on the top corner of Kageyama's bed. He looked up to Kageyama as he walked in, shutting the door carefully behind him. "I'm sorry," Kageyama started, standing at the base of the bed, head tilted towards the floor, "I wasn't thinking." "I know," Hinata mumbled, staring at him, "It's okay. You didn't know." He smiled, trying to ease Kageyama's nerves, "Don't bow." "I'm sorry," Kageyama said again, standing up normally, "That was really really stupid, I'm really sorry, that was- that was really /gay/." Hinata scoffed. "I don't care if it was gay, dummy," He stretched his legs out on the bed, feeling way better than he had been, "I don't care." Kageyama sat on the bed next to him. "You should care, though?" "I don't. I'm not a super strict sexuality guy," He snickered at what he was saying, "I'm not even straight, or whatever, I just.. I dunno, I don't think I'm anything. I don't know." Kageyama nodded slightly, "Okay... But-" "But," Hinata interrupted him, "if it were anyone else that did that, I'd probably be really scared." "Oh," Kageyama, "Okay, I guess." "Yeah."
