Words: 20681 ****** Point Blank ****** by SeaSaltFreckles Summary With the world slowly turning into a comic book story it was only a matter of time before multiple universes are discovered. It's only unfortunate that one had to be discovered on he brink of destruction begging of help. Now Midoriya and Bakugou have to take up the mission of saving their own world and another. Notes So here is the beginning to my new fic. First off I'd like to say that this is loosely inspired by Marvel and DC's multi-universe stories but in this there will only be two different ones (that they know of) Second of all there's going to be a lot of inspiration coming from them as you'll probably see later on. I do not condone rape, murder or abuse but that's just for the aesthetics I'm going for. I'm actually pretty proud of this and it'll be mostly drama/action so prepare yourself. See the end of the work for more notes ***** When Two Worlds Collide ***** “Kacchan~” The voice purred behind him echoing off the walls. Bakugou Katsuki didn’t look back, in fact his pace hastened as the voice was followed by tumbling walls and a falling roof. As the hallway completely collapsed Bakugou slammed his already injured shoulder in a wall just barely missing the rubble behind him. He leaned against the wall trying to regain his stamina. Time was of the essence and soon the predator would close in on him. His shoulder was completely dislocated and both of his forearms were burned from the excessive use of his quirk. The inability to use his fingers was becoming a problem since he could no longer hold his arm up to ease the pain from his shoulder. It was unbearable but he knew that even worst pain would be ensued if he was caught. More rumbling emerged from collapsed hallway. He’s coming. Bakugou took in a deep breath of air and took off stumbling on slight. He had no idea where the hallway was leading him to but that was on the last of his priorities even though it should have been the first few. He lost his communicator back when he and the target first clashed so he had no idea how his comrades. They were his number one priority. Bakugou makes sure to watch his feet as the rubbles began to clutter in his way. The entire building was shaking curtesy to the one chasing him. At any moment the building could come crashing and since he was still on the fifth floor that wouldn’t exactly boat well with anyone including the villains. He looked up ahead of himself and found the stairway leading farther down the building. He quickly went to take it but unfortunately had to slow down. As he reached the first landed he stopped as he a green blur raced into view behind him. It was the first time he looked back and it was possibly one of the dumbest mistakes he had made. Midoriya Izuku slid into view with a malicious grin across his mouth and an arm braced back ready to strike. They’re eyes locked but only for a moment as Midoriya’s gaze averted the connecting wall. He slammed his fist into it causing another large shake of the building. Bakugou leaned against the wall being sure to hold his balance but he heard the cracks and the roof was beginning to fall apart on top of him. He looked to the next set of stairs and pushed off the wall but it was already too late. His foot slipped through the floor and down he went along with the floor he once stood on. As Bakugou fell he found he had no way of bracing himself for the impact. His body reacted on its own accord and flipped him onto his feet. He watched as he landed on the next stable floor and roughly rolled out of the falling debris landing flat on his face nonetheless. It cheek was now burning from the scrape he now had on his cheek. Everything hurt including his legs. Bakugou heaved heavily feeling like his chest was being constricted by both feared and lack of stamina. His conscience screamed for him to get up but his body wouldn’t allow it. Everything was slowly falling numb. There was a loud crashed behind. He knew exactly who it was and now he would caught in right where he wanted him. He slowly turned his head over and looked back at the man himself. There stood Midoriya with a large chunk of rubble being held in his hand. The boy was no older than Bakugou sitting at the age of sixteen but stood both on completely different levels. While Midoriya was the next in line to take up the title ‘Leader of the League of Villains’ Bakugou was just a simple rebel activist trying to stop one of his best friends from destroying the world they knew. This wasn’t how he wanted his life to go, nowhere near it. “Poor Kacchan,” Midoriya’s voice cackled behind him. He use to a very sweet voice when they were children but now it was deep with a dark purpose behind it. The boy casually walked out from over the rubble with ease. “You’re already all fucked up, now how am I supposed to play with you?” As Midoriya walked closer Bakugou looked him up and down. Midoriya wore a bright green suit that slowly faded to black on each limb and matched perfectly with his large black trench coat that tore at the bottom. Each time Bakugou looked at his bright red high tops it made him laugh. After all he was the one who gave him those shoes. Midoriya never wore a hood but his mouth and nose were covered by a metal face mask with sharp teeth collected together in the shape of a smile. It was definitely a sinister look but Bakugou refused to fear it. The green haired boy crouched before the blond and gently stroked his hair. Bakugou snapped his head away roughly and growled at the villain. Midoriya smirked and grabbed Bakugou by his collar lifting him up to eye level. Bakugou glared down at the boy. He didn’t fear his smile but he sure did fear his eyes as they pierced their way into Bakugou’s soul. He feared this was only the beginning of his foreseen torture. -------------------------------------- Midoriya stumbled behind Bakugou as they too patrolled the streets together. He wanted to rush to his friend side but knew that he’d only get his ass chewed if he did. After all they may be partners but god knows neither of them wants to be. It was very late at night and Midoriya had already downed his second energy drink but he was still tired and just wanted to go home. Not much ever happened on patrols like this unless it involved another fight between him and Bakugou but that was only if he didn’t follow his normal guidelines that Bakugou himself wrote. Unfortunately Midoriya tended to do that a lot more often than he would care to admit. Midoriya knew he was supposed to be watching the streets for anything out of the ordinary but he couldn’t help but keep his eyes on the back of Bakugou’s head. Normally nights like this Midoriya would find himself dosing off but that was simply not the case tonight. Something felt different about today but he couldn’t figure out if it was something in the air or if it had something to do with Bakugou. Nonetheless his gut was trying to tell him something. “Deku!” Midoriya snapped out of his daydreaming and up to Bakugou who stood still in front of him. He slowly skidded to a stop when he realized how close he was to slamming into the blond. One of the first rules lain out to him. Don’t. Fucking. Touch. Bakugou Katsuki. “Y-Yes..?” He stuttered. Bakugou rolled his piercing red eyes at Midoriya and set his hands on his hips. “I know you’re not that fucken stupid so why haven’t you said anything about this weird ass fucken feeling we’re having?” Midoriya blinked confused. “Good to know I’m not just reading too far into something,” Bakugou raised his eye brow and crossed his arms. “What’s that supposed to fucken mean, eh, shitty Deku?” Midoriya rolled his eyes not wanting to deal with Bakugou’s mindless tactics. “Now’s not the time Kacchan, what is it that your feeling?” Bakugou scoffed and crossed his arms. “It’s just doesn’t fucken feeling right, I can’t even try to fucken explain it.” Midoriya sighed. “Well if I were to explain I’d say it’s like having not only a pit in my stomach but goosebumps following me no matter where I go. Does that sound about right to you?” Bakugou’s piercing red eyes locked with Midoriya’s in a glare. He knew that Midoriya had hit the mark but he would never admit it. Instead he held his glare for a few seconds then turned away to continue their patrol as though they hadn’t even began speaking. “Hey w-wait!” Midoriya stuttered and quickly caught up to the now speed walking blond. “Kacchan, I get that it pisses you off when I do that but stop acting like a child and actually talk to me.” “Fuck off shitty Deku,” Bakugou growled keeping his head forward at all times. This was usually how their conversations would go so there was no real affect to Midoriya but even so it frustrated him to no end that their conversations would always end like this. Midoriya pursed his lip and finally reached out to Bakugou’s arm and roughly spun him around. “Seriously, will you ever grow up? If we’re both feeling this we probably shouldn’t just ignore it.” Midoriya was prepared to get hit for touching Bakugou but it never came. In fact Bakugou didn’t look as pissed as he normally did. He eyed Midoriya but there was something hidden in those red gems of his something completely out of character. Was it anxiety? Or was it curiosity? Nonetheless it was something Midoriya had ever rarely, if at all, seen Bakugou feel. “What did I say about looking at me like that?” Bakugou growled. His expression slowly changed back into his normal angry glare. Midoriya glared back. Bakugou had never actually told Midoriya what face he was constantly giving him that pissed him off so badly but Midoriya didn’t really care. After all for all he knew it could be his normal face. “Whatever…” Midoriya mumbled and the two continued their job without speaking another word to each other. ------------------------------ Bakugou’s back slammed into a pillar with almost full force. He could feel the now deep bruising setting in and the obvious cracking fractures ringing through his ears. The pain was almost too great but his entire body was completely numb. His spinal injuries were numbing every sense in his body except his mind. He would have to be awake for all of the upcoming torture. As his body fell to the ground he groaned and buried his face into the concrete. He couldn’t move and the slowly haunting footsteps coming towards him were deafening. The only thing he could feel was regret…for not killing his friend sooner. “Kacchan, why aren’t you being any fun today?” Midoriya cooed with a pout on his lip. The green haired boy bent down in front of him and curled his eye brows inward forming a whimpering like face. “You use to have such a spark in you; did my goons really beat that right out of you? I’ll have to punish them for that.” Bakugou shakily lifted his head and turned it to Midoriya. The sight of his face made him ill. It was all just a mask, Midoriya Izuku felt nothing. He was no longer human if he ever really was to begin with. He was sadistic, cruel and knew every possible way of getting under Bakugou’s skin. But that was his own fault, somehow he let him. Bakugou finally gained a small bit of strength and courage and use the last bit of his saliva to spit it in his friends face. When it hit his cheek it became obvious that Bakugou was eternally bleeding as most of it was blood. Midoriya’s face didn’t waver at first but as the spit slowly fell down his cheek he grinned and went to lick it off. Bakugou felt like he was going to throw up. What a sick fuck. After licking up as much as possible he quickly wiped the rest off and crawled on top of Bakugou gently turning him on his back. The blond groaned and kept his face turned away. He refused to look at him anymore; he refused to look at the monster he created. “Kacchan, don’t ignore me.” Midoriya hovered above him being sure to not touch him one bit. His legs trapped hips down and his arms locked on either side of Bakugou’s face. He was just toying with him, and he knew it. “Oh come on now, you even told me yourself, you can’t resist me. ” At those words Bakugou’s body reacted by itself. His knees both came up and rolled the green haired boy off of him. He still felt no pain when doing so but that’s what worried him. As he heard Midoriya’s back hit the ground he took off back onto his feet and down the clearest hallway he could find. As he turned the corner he could hear Midoriya’s malicious laughing. “There’s the spark I know…” It echoed down the halls but it was blocked by Bakugou’s conscious. He would not let Midoriya get to him more that he already was. He needed to escape; he would not be caught alive. ----------------------- “Damn it,” Bakugou growled and slammed his hand into the side of the wall. Midoriya quickly backed away with his hands up in defense. They had been quiet for entirety of the night so he knew that it was not his fault. “K-Kacchan..?” Midoriya stuttered still keeping his guard up. “Please tell me it’s getting worse for you to?” Bakugou turned to Midoriya snarling like a dog. Midoriya blinked confused at first but then remembered the feeling. For the most part he just started ignoring it but Bakugou was right, the feeling was getting worst. He thought it was just his conscious trying to figure out any possible explanation for that feeling causing some anxiety and that’s why he was ignoring it. But now the goosebumps that were once following him were making his muscles tense in consecutive pulses. His hair was standing on end and his fingers would twitch with each pulse. The ability to ignore that was the real surprising part. “Y-yeah…it is,” Midoriya rubbed his arm nervously. He didn’t like the thought of how the rest of the night would go. “Shit,” Bakugou quickly pulled out his phone and began dialing up someone number. Midoriya checked his watch wondering who would answer at this late at night. It was almost day break and their shift was almost over. After this they would just go home and rest until they had to go to school in a couple of hours. It was definitely one of the worst shifts they could get but they were both getting used to it by now. “Damn it, of course the motherfucker wouldn’t answer. Lazy piece of shit.” Bakugou shoved his phone back in his pocket with a snare. Obviously whoever he was calling didn’t answer. “Alright this shit is pissing me off and I’m going to get to the fucking bottom of it.” “W-wait what are you going to do, Kacchan?” Midoriya asked looking at him confused. “What the hell do you think shitnerd? I’m going to find what this fucking crap is and end it.” The blond quickly turned away, taking a step forward and looking around as to find which way to go. Neither of the two knew if there was source so Midoriya wondered were Bakugou would actually go. He waited and watched as his friend’s head darted both left and right. Midoriya snickered at how confused Bakugou looked. “Don’t fucking snicker at me you asswipe!” Bakugou turned and pointed a warning finger at the green haired boy. Midoriya quickly covered his mouth to hide his obvious grin. At that moment the both of them felt an unexplainable rush and their entire bodies pulsed like a heartbeat. Their eyes met and without a word the two knew exactly what the other was thinking. Whatever we keep sensing is about to appear. --------------------- Bakugou found himself in a large room trapped with no windows and no way of escaping. Midoriya was still behind, still playing his messed of game of cat and mouse. However he knew that this had gone on long enough and that’s why Midoriya had called backup. The first one into the room was his second in command; Uravity or Ochako Uraraka. The brunette smirked as she closed in on Bakugou. “You know this would be so much easier if you would all just bow down to us.” The blond turned to her and glared. Before she joined the League of Villains she use to be very humble and had a good head on her shoulder until Midoriya stepped into her life and she fell to her knees for him. But of course she was just another pawn in his little game…just like Bakugou. “Wow you’re really messed up,” Uraraka popped her fingers together and smirked. “That’ll just make this even easier.” Bakugou panted as the pain slowly began to resume. All of his nerves in his fingers faded and so his dislocated shoulder fell when he dropped both arms. His mouth was pooling with blood making him gag but there was nothing in his stomach. Uraraka noticed this and looked at him up and down. “It’s almost so sad to see you like this,” She casually walked towards him; he could see the strut in her steps. “Honestly though I’ll give you an A for effort.” Bakugou took a step back but when he did he lost his balance and slammed down onto his back. Uraraka laughed villainously stood over him. “So pathetic, how can Deku even bother giving you the time of the day.” His cheek was suddenly kicked to the side. A tooth was now gone and slowly rolling away from where he spit. ‘I don’t know…’Bakugou thought as he turned his head to her again. She was enjoying this way too much. Her grin alone revealed every emotion she was feeling including her hatred for Bakugou and her love for Midoriya. If anything, she was the pathetic one. “All I ever fucken hear is Kacchan this and Kacchan that,” She growled and reeled her leg back for another kick. Bakugou prepared for it and when her foot struck his other cheek he felt another tooth crack. “Why can’t he talk about anything but you?” Bakugou spit the blood from his mouth and looked at her. One thing’s for sure, she was obviously jealous of the attention he was given. When they were children Uraraka and Bakugou use to be great friends so he had always known about her crush on Midoriya but he never knew how bad it was until now. That friendship had long since died. He almost felt bad for her. “Come on round face…” He grinned when he repeated his old childhood nickname he gave her. She stopped when he said it. Bakugou turned his face to look at her and gave her a heartwarming smile. “I think we get it, you’re obsessed with Midoriya.” Her expression immediately changed and now his life was on the line. “Don’t call me that!” She reeled back her hand obviously reaching for his neck to cut off his oxygen. One of her new found powers. He readied himself took in as much air as he could but just as he was about to lay her hand on him a red blur flashed over him and slammed into Uraraka. Bakugou gasped when he saw his savior. Kirishima Eijiro. “God damn you’re a nuisance.” The redhead growled as he watched Uraraka slam into the ground and roll away. Kirishima lived up to his title as a tank and it was partially due to his quirk. His entire body could harden and on occasions like this his entire body looked like sharp cut diamonds. He no longer looked human, but a rock form into one. “Kirishima…” Bakugou called. The redhead turned and the sight almost terrified Bakugou. His mouth looked like something of a children closet monster and his eyes had completely faded into simple cracks of his skin. Kirishima use to wear hard metallic armor but that had all faded by now and ripped with each spike intruding from his skin. The red head looked down at his friend and his expression immediately turned sad and pitiful but it could barely be seen. He quickly kneeled to Bakugou and offered a hand. Bakugou looked at his jagged hand and back at the redhead. When Kirishima got the hint he retracted it and scratched the back of his head. “Right, sorry.” He stepped back and tried to let Bakugou do it himself but his strength was failing him. Kirishima’s rock form gently faded until he found he would no longer cause harm to Bakugou. Once he did he grabbed Bakugou’s hand and carefully lifted him. “I see that your task is going about as well as mine.” Bakugou groaned as Kirishima lifted him and held him up against him until he regains the ability to stand. “I think it’s safe to say we need to abort the mission.” Kirishima looked at him sadly and averted his eyes. “Bakugou…we’ve lost a lot more lives today than I care to admit. We’ve been trying to abort this mission since they got the drop on us.” Bakugou sighed and looked away from Kirishima. He was supposed to be the leader of this mission and because of that he got almost everyone killed. For all he knew he and Kirishima could be the only ones alive right now. “I’m sorry…” Bakugou whispered trying to hold back his tears. When he did Kirishima pulled him into a hug. “Bakugou, you’ve done everything you can for this rebellion to happen.” Kirishima held Bakugou close refusing to release him any time soon. “It’s time we pull out the last resort…” Bakugou gasped and pulled himself out Kirishima’s grip. He knew that times were desperate. His entire city had been destroyed. Heroes and Villains alike are being slaughtered on a battlefield that didn’t need to exist in the first place. This is a war that needs to be stopped even if it means resulting to drastic measures. “But Kirishima we don’t even know if I’ll be sent to the right place or if they’ll even what to help us. Not to mention we haven’t gotten to test it yet. What if I don’t come back? O-Or what if-” Bakugou’s train of thought was cut off as Kirishima’s hand rested on his shoulder. “Quit your fucking mumbling,” The redhead smiled, a happy grin returning to his face. “Even if you don’t return I know you’ll be better off anywhere but here.” Kirishima reached down in to his pocket and pulled out the last resort. Bakugou looked down at it than back to Kirishima. “You brought it with you? And what if the villains had gotten their hands on it? Do you know how dangerous that could have been?” Kirishima rolled his eyes. “No offense Bakugou, but we all knew this mission had two outcomes. Putting Deku in his grave or pulling a suicide. This was my backup plan.” In Kirishima’s hand was a grenade like object that held more power than the trouble its worth. Before this happened they spent the past an entire two years looking for someone with either the intelligence to create a portal to another universe or someone with a similar quirk. In the end they were able to get someone with the ability to calculate a formula. Just before explaining every nook and cranny about the formula Deku brutally killed them and left the rebellion to fend for themselves. The two of them looked over as Uraraka slowly gained consciousness from the hit she took and began to slowly lift herself up. Bakugou was a bit surprised at the fact that she was even waking up after all Kirishima could be a great offensive linemen. “Our time’s up,” Kirishima said as he pulled a clip from the object. When he did he threw it against the wall and watched a small portal began opened pulling in pieces of the wall with it. There was now a heavy suction and was gently pulling the two of them in. “W-Wait, you want me to go now?” Bakugou shouted over the loud gusts of wind looking back to his friend who was hardening himself back to his inhuman form. Before Kirishima could answer Uraraka came rushing the two of them. Bakugou stepped back as Kirishima took the full brunt of her attack. The redhead quickly knocked her back but as she landed another figure stood behind her. There he stood leaned against the door frame watching with a wicked smirk on his face. Midoriya. ----------------------------- Bakugou and Midoriya backed up to each after the feeling acted up at the exact same time. From Midoriya’s direction he saw nothing wrong but Bakugou gasped as he saw something flare up in the sky. Midoriya looked over his shoulder after Bakugou gasped and his eyes found exactly what Bakugou was looking at. In the night sky a white beam of light, appearing from almost nothing, ascended down to the ground into a large abandoned building. “What the hell is that…?” Bakugou mouthed and he kept his readied stance still. Midoriya turned to face it and found himself feeling terrified. Midoriya shook his head trying to shake off the feeling. “I-I have no clue…” He admitted trying to hide the shaking in his voice. The feeling had long since faded but at this point it was obvious that this was the source. The sky was slowly beginning to turn purple and the sun would be rising soon. With the blinding white light in the sky it almost made it beautiful but since neither of them knew what that light could hold they refuse to look at it as anything other than a threat. At that point Midoriya’s mind found its way to trying to find any explanation it was. “Maybe it’s just a signal or something like that. Then again the probability of it being deadly almost too high and I do not like the odds between us. Maybe we should call one of the pro heroes or-hey wait!” Before Midoriya could finish what he was saying Bakugou was already taking off to the light. “Come the fuck on shitty Deku, none of those fuckers are going to answer us anyway!” Bakugou shouted back to Midoriya. The green haired boy quickly raced after him wanting to grab his wrist and stop the blond before he pulled another stupid stunt. “It’s still our shift after all and this is the most fucking action I’ve had in a long god damn time.” Midoriya wanted to fight back but he knew it would just delay them and they didn’t know if there was a time limit to this thing. Nonetheless he still didn’t agree with just jumping head on into the situation without figuring out some sort of plan. The true questions was if there was even time to make a plan or if when this thing even first appeared if it was already too late. When the two of them reached the building Bakugou kicked down the door breaking the chain and lock from the inside. From what Midoriya could tell this building was an old warehouse abandoned after the company went bankrupt. It was filled to the brim with dust and decay with left over boxes all scattered across the floor. In the center of the main room, stood the source to the large white light; a large portal stirred slowly pushing away anything and everything that wasn’t built into the ground. Midoriya and Bakugou both lowered themselves to the ground to prevent themselves from being thrown back. The wind hurtled at them forcing them to cover their eyes from the flying dust and debris coming their way. “A portal?” Midoriya shouted to his partner for confirmation. “Whatever the fuck it is, we need to destroy it!” Bakugou replied trying to take a step towards it. The pressure was beginning to get harder to fight back and before they knew it the windows around them began to crack. Bakugou quickly shouted for the two of them to get down. Both ducked behind a wall and down came all of the glass. Luckily none of it had gotten them but it was now scattered everywhere. “You got a plan?” Midoriya asked, standing back up on his feet and facing the portal. Bakugou also returned to his side looking ahead at the problem. “No fucking clue!” --------------------------------- Bakugou watched in horror as Kirishima took each and every hit directed to him. Uraraka stood behind Midoriya smirking as he repeatedly kicked and punched the redhead out of his way. His quirk was fading and he was now bleeding with a broken nose and busted rib cage. Bakugou knew the only reason he was standing was because his quirk was the only thing keeping him alive. “So you got a portal huh?” Midoriya snickered as he placed his foot atop of Kirishima who now lay on the ground growling with full rage. Bakugou’s back was now to the portal and if he really wanted to he could leave right here and now but…he couldn’t leave Kirishima behind. He was scared and he would be going on this journey alone if he didn’t do something for Kirishima. “Dammit…” Kirishima growled trying to lift himself up from under Midoriya. The green haired boy’s leg was suddenly encased it green and red vein like patterns before the redheads head was suddenly buried in the ground below them. “So you thought you could stop me by escaping to another dimension?” Midoriya raised his legs and slowly slide over to Bakugou. The blond back away, clawing his way across the floor not being able to hardly move. “I’ll admit it’s a clever idea but now I just have access to another world and you know what that means right Kacchan?” The green haired boy hovered over him threateningly. Bakugou glared at him tears welling in his eyes. When he was a child he was such a role model figure even after he found out he was quirkless. If only he had never met All Might then this would have never happened. They would have been heroes together. “I’ll just have another world to destroy.” The green haired boy smirked gently setting a hand on Bakugou’s head. The touch burned and Bakugou quickly shoved it away with a snare. Midoriya opened his mouth as to quickly say something but Kirishima rushed him with a howling battle cry. Midoriya seemed unfazed by the approaching boy and simply grabbed his arm from midair and throwing him onto the ground. Bakugou’s eyes widened as Kirishima was now cracking and slowly losing pieces like a grumbling rock. “Kirishima!” Bakugou shouted reaching out to his friends who only groaned and gasped at the pain. Kirishima was always the one to hide his pain. He didn’t like looking weak and if he ever showed anything similar to pain it was usually something serious. “I’m growing tired of your daring heroism.” Midoriya growled to the redhead. Before he could say or do anything else the entire building started shaking and flashes of lightning were beginning to strike behind Bakugou. Everyone looked towards the portal and watched it began to fall unstable. It shook violently and was slowly beginning to shrink from the outside. “Mother fu-” Before Midoriya could finish his sentence Kirishima tackled him once again this time pulling him against his chest and raging even further into his quirk. Kirishima now looked like a wall of spikes. He had no mouth, no clothes and no hair. This was his final form and it had a very short time limit. “Get going!!” Kirishima shouted as he restrained Midoriya. As the two struggled Uraraka came rushing for the two of them. Bakugou’s chance was now. The portal was slowly beginning to close behind him which meant he had no choice to save Kirishima. Tears weld in his eyes as he watched his friend once again save him. When the two first joined the rebellion Bakugou had tried to not give him a single second of his day. But slowly but surely his chipper attitude and will power grew on Bakugou and they became great friends. There was still so much Bakugou wanted to ask Kirishima but now the chance had fleeted and this would probably be the last time he would ever see him. It was for this exact reason Bakugou couldn’t get any closer to the portal. “I said get the fuck out here!” Kirishima shouted his voice was no longer normal it was a growl like a monsters. Inhuman and not the way Bakugou would want to remember him by. His eyes quickly averted back and forth between the portal and Kirishima. His consciousness knew what the right thing to do was but somehow he couldn’t do it. His heart ached and in a way he wanted to die. He wanted Midoriya to let Kirishima go and kill him instead but he knew that was just him being selfish. Bakugou had to go; this would be the only way to save more people from suffering the same fate he and many other would have to face.   “Oh no you don’t!” Bakugou snapped out of his though and watched as Uraraka rushed him with her hand extended ready to capture him. His body moved back on instinct but this time he hopped just far enough back that the pressure from the portal began to lift his body up off of the ground. The light was surrounding him and though it felt warm he was uncertain and it distilled fear in him. All of his previous questions had all hit him at once. He didn’t even know if he would survive being taking to another universe. For all he knew he could be killed as quickly as he entered. As the entrance began to clothes around him everything flowed in slowly motion. His eyes shot open as he heard the final screams from his world fade away. He watched as Midoriya released from Kirishima’s arms and reeled back with his entire body now covered in his red and green cowl. He watched in horror as Midoriya’s arm came down and shattered him like a piece of glass. ------------------------ Bakugou and Midoriya could no longer get any closer to it. The air pressure was too great and it was throwing them against the wall with easy. They tried to be resilient and think of anyway of using their quirks to their advantages but each time they tried it only backfired and set them back even farther. “Dammit!” Bakugou shouted setting of a couple small explosions in his hands to express his frustration. “Nothing’s fucking working, what now?!” Midoriya’s eyes were now almost completely shut from the constant bombarding of dust and dirt into his eyes. His arms were trying their best to block it but it was to no avail. “I don’t know, I’m out of ideas!” Bakugou growled at him. “Really?! Now you’re out of ideas, what the fuck?!” Midoriya chose to ignore him and turned his attention back to the portal. Though it was blinding to begin with Midoriya quickly forced himself to look away when there was a loud flash and clap of thunder following it. The two of them both knew it was coming from the portal. Though they both knew it was going to get worst they lowered their arms just slightly to see what was going on. The portal was now shaking and shooting electricity out of it from different directions and was slowly beginning to shrink. “It’s closing!” Midoriya shouted to his partner. “No fucking duh dipshit!” Bakugou shouted back. The wind began increasing and both of the heroes were beginning to slowly skid across the floor and be pushed against the wall. When their weight could no longer hold them down one gust of window threw them up into their hair and slammed up against the wall. Neither of them could move and it was almost like they were riding on the outside of a jet. Midoriya looked to his partner and Bakugou looked back. Though Midoriya was worried that they would sooner or later go through the wall Bakugou was more concerned about the portal now closing. At least that was what Midoriya was assuming. There was one last flash before the wind pressure began to fade. The two of them fell down to the ground only barely able to catch themselves. Their limbs slowly began to return to the normal pressure and the dust began to fade away. As the air cleared the two of them looked ahead hoping to see the portal still open. It was completely gone, almost like it wasn’t there in the first place. The room was now being lit from the morning sun that had just peaked over the horizon. It was still fairly dark but it was lit just enough for the two of them to assess the damage. “Motherfucker!” Bakugou shouted as he stepped into the room looking for any possible bit of evidence from the portal. While he did that, Midoriya looked around the room curiously to see if anything looked out of the ordinary. Midoriya suddenly stopped when he spotted a large shadow curled on the tile floor. Since it was so dark he couldn’t see much but what he could tell was that whatever it was had a long piece of clothing hanging over it. He looked over to Bakugou once to see if he had noticed yet but he was obviously too busy. Midoriya carefully stepped closer to it. He stopped when he suddenly realized the human form it took. It was a human completely unconscious and curled up into the fetal position. “K-Kacchan?” Midoriya whispered to his friend trying to not disturb the unconscious person. He made sure to be weary of the person and in case they were an enemy looking to pull a sneak attack on them. The blond turned around about to shout and yell at him for interrupting his hunting but quickly stopped himself as he saw Midoriya approaching the unknown object. “Don’t do it loser, for all you know that could be some kind of fucking assassin.” Midoriya rolled his eyes and ignore Bakugou’s constant nagging. As he bent down before the person he noticed how much it smelled of smoke, ash and dust most likely from debris. He bit his lip nervously and quickly flipped it onto its back. It was a boy; he was dressed in a bunch of torn clothing with handmade guards, an almost apocalypse like outfit. He was hurt, his hands up to his elbows were severely burned and the bones were obviously broken. His cheek had a large scrape across it and his nose was bleeding heavily. Midoriya stopped when his eyes landed on his face. He fell back in shock grasping at his chest to keep himself from having a heart attack. He looked up at his partner as he slowly stepped closer to him. When Bakugou noticed his sudden shocked expression he stopped and looked at him questionably. “What the fuck is with that look?” Bakugou raised an eye brow. “K-Kacchan…” Midoriya shook in fear and confusion. His arm rose slowly to point at what he had just witness but his entire arm shook violently. “I-Its….It’s…” “Oh fucking Christ spit it out!” Bakugou shouted getting tired of his stupid stumbling and useless words. Midoriya’s finger finally extended to boy on the ground. “Kacchan…i-it’s you.” Bakugou looked at him confused and rushed over into the light to see the face of the person on the floor. Midoriya was right. Right before them, unconscious, and obviously extremely hurt; Bakugou Katsuki. ***** His Tale ***** Chapter Notes See the end of the chapter for notes It had been almost an entire month since Midoriya and Bakugou had been on that mission. Neither of them were allowed access to the copy while he was being interrogated and taken care of in the hospital. Even though both he and Bakugou had tried to convince the police and hospital no information was given out even to the school. Instead the two of them were left in the dark until they were finally called in to the police station along with All Might. When they reached the station they were pulled into the Chief of Police, Tsuragamae Kenji’s office. The room was huge and it was obviously soundproof since it held many secrets but it was also very warming. There was a large desk in the center of the room with two chairs in front of it as well a dark blue couch set off to the side. His desk had a large monitor for his computer but also had a couple of picture frames and a small potted plant on the corner. “Take a seat,” Tsuragamae said as he shut the door behind the three. Naturally Bakugou and Midoriya put All Might in between them since they still didn’t quite get along. All Might didn’t mind though he would always prefer the two to be kept separate than constantly fighting. When they all sat Midoriya noticed how aggravated Bakugou was. He wanted to assume this was a natural reaction since the both of them had been seeing double but even so today he seemed worse than normal. Bakugou’s leg bounced rapidly as he bit his nails and averting his eyes side to side. Something must have happened before they came here. “Alright, where to begin…” The dog-like person came around his desk and quickly took his seat calmly. Midoriya was nervous to hear what he would have to say since he always feared the worst. “First I would like to say thank you all for showing, I know this past month has been all but an easy one considering the situation but we’ve finally been able to get enough information out of him to tell you what we’re dealing with.” Midoriya was on the edge of seat casually twiddling his thumbs to help ease his mind. When the chief finished Bakugou scoffed and leaned against the armrest. “It’s about damn time…” They all ignored Bakugou and waited for the chief to continue. “From what we’ve gather he claims to be Bakugou Katsuki, age 17 with the birthday of April 20th like you.” The man turned to his head to Bakugou. “However he claims that he’s not from this universe and he is in fact from an alternate reality.” The three of them all stopped what they were doing including breathing. Hundreds of questions raced in Midoriya’s mind but he refrained from asking any as the chief continued talking. “He’s told us that in his world a group called The League of Villains has taken over and the entire world is at war with them. He also happens to be part of one of the rebellions located in Japan and has come here looking for help. The only issue is he had no way of getting back.” The dog quickly stopped to let the information sink in. Before Midoriya could say anything Bakugou began to laugh loudly rolling his head back while he did it. Everyone stared at him all with different expressions. While Midoriya was worried, All Might looked at him questionably. As Bakugou finished off his laugh and letting it draw out he noticed everyone’s look. “Wait…you’re fucking serious with this shit?” When the dog nodded Bakugou’s smirk was quickly wiped off and turned into an aggressive glare. “Do I look fucking stupid to you?” Midoriya wanted to laugh and give his opinion about the question but he was in no mood. The subject of alternate universes had always been played with since quirks first emerged but never truly touched on since it caused so much of a panic but idea was still never dismissed. In fact scientists are still studying it today in secret trying to prove if it’s real or not. Was this the universes way of giving them an answer? “Bakugou my boy, don’t be rude. He’s not done yet.” All Might set a hand on Bakugou shoulder still keeping his calm and urging the boy to relax. When the blond did he crossed his arms like a grumpy child and listened. “I understand your confusion and that’s why we’ve brought you in today. We want to conduct an experiment that will involve both Bakugou and Midoriya based on the answers he’s given us.” All Might looked at his questionably. “Alright what is it?” “Based on what he has told us he understands that he is in another universe so he’s given us a list of names of people he knows personally. Now normally we would just toss this aside but we found something a little strange.” The dog reached down into his bag and pulled out a notebook. “Each name in here are people that you two also know, correct?” Midoriya took the book first and read through the names. Multiple consisted of their class 1-A and a couple from class 1-B as well but there were still a couple that he didn’t recognize. As he went through the list he also noticed that his name was nowhere to be seen which could only mean one thing. If he was really an alternate Bakugou, he didn’t know Midoriya. The notebook was ripped from his hand by Bakugou who vicariously looked through the pages. “The fuck..?” He gawked, unlike Midoriya it looked like he knew every single name on the list. “There are even childhood friends on this?” The chief clasped his hands together and set his hands down on the table. “Judging from your reaction I’m assuming you know most of these people?” Bakugou looked up and handed him back the notebook. “I know all of them,” Midoriya felt a pit in his stomach grow. He had no idea how to feel about the situation and his mind was basically short circuiting because of it. Was this all real? “The only difference is that he had not mention Midoriya at all. We want to take Midoriya in and see if he has ever seen you before in his world.” The chief said flatly. Midoriya looked at the chief confused. “W-Wait but why don’t you just ask him since he’s willing to give you all of this?” “Because when we did he hesitated and told us he didn’t, we think he’s lying and want to see if the sight of you changes his mind.” “What?! B-But that’s going overboard sir!” All Might spoke up sitting up in his seat and leaning over the desk. The dog raised his hand gesturing for the man to sit back down when he did he continued. “We want to help him but we need to be sure he’s not lying to us or we’ll have to take drastic measure and label him as either a spy or a mentally insane person.” “You should have done that in the first place!” Bakugou shouted. “Have those idiot even tried to prove if he’s a shapeshifter or something fucking similar?” “Yes they have, in fact they sedated him on multiple occasions and if he was using a quirk like that it would have ceased during that time. They even compared your DNA, that’s why we need to take these kinds of steps.” The dog barked back. Midoriya kept his mouth shut and carefully thought over what might come about if he accepted the plan. One thing was for sure, he too wanted to find this copies true purpose and if facing him would help he would definitely take the opportunity. However since he didn’t know the state of his condition mental or physical he was worried. For all he knew he could be some kind of trigger that would lead to them having to rule him out as a mental incapable person or worst… The three of them continued bickering when Midoriya finally decided what he wanted to do. “U-Uh…” The three all stopped and looked to Midoriya. “I’ll go in, after all I can handle myself against this worlds Bakugou, I’m sure they’re not that much different in fighting tactics. But I want to know what this will accomplish.” Tsuragamae nodded. “Yes well like I said, we think he’s lying about knowing a Izuku Midoriya so we want to see if we can pull an initial reaction out of him. If we can we’ll listen to whatever else has to say on his world including the plan he has for us to help him.” Midoriya knew that there was a chance he could get hurt but he stood behind what he said previously. He could handle himself and if this guy really was just someone looking for a helping hand then they were just wasting time. He once again nodded and they settled a deal on what was going to happen. They just needed a weeks’ time to prepare for it. ------------------ As Midoriya and Bakugou walked back to their dorms the blond stopped him. “Let me guess, you really think this guy is from another fucking universe don’t you shitnerd?” Midoriya wanted to brush it off but he stood his ground. “I don’t know what to believe which is why I’m going.” “You’re all such fucking idiots, you believe every little stray that comes asking for your help and that’s why the villains keep pulling these stupid fucking tactics.” Bakugou sharply poked Midoriya’s chest pushing him back slightly. “I’m sure he’s just another one of the League of Villain lackeys looking to get their hands on the first hero they can. Of course it’d be fucking you.” “Bakugou, if that was really his plan he would have done it by now.” Midoriya fought back. “If you’re just going to continue this then why not go and see for yourself so you can be the big hero and save us all then you can tell everyone ‘I told you so’.” Midoriya knew he was being rude but he didn’t really care at this point. The thought still sat in the back of his mind that he was right but at the same time he just wanted to solve this whole situation without jumping to conclusion. “Fine, I fucking will.” Bakugou shoved his hands in his pocket and knocked Midoriya out of the way harshly. Now he had a fear of seeing two Bakugou’s clashing, this was a mess.   ----------------------- On the day he was called in Midoriya decided to wear his hero costume just in case he would need to defend himself. At first he thought he had made a mistake but when he came in to see multiple pro hero’s including All Might all dressed in their costumes he felt better about himself. Bakugou was also there being held in the back by All Might so he wouldn’t rush in without authorization. Tsuragamae had written out a list of questions for Midoriya in case the situation would go well. Most of the questions involved him so Midoriya didn’t bother memorizing any of the questions. The entire hallway was filled to the brim with back up assistance including doctors who had already sedated the boy inside. Luckily they gave enough so he wouldn’t be able to use his quirk but he was still conscious enough to act normally. It always fascinated Midoriya on how they did that. “Alright Midoriya,” The chief of police stepped up to him. “Before you go in there I want you to keep something in mind when you speak to him. Remember that this Bakugou is an actual person, one entirely different than the one you know. Try to think of him as a stranger but keep your guard up.” Midoriya nodded and looked over into the crowd where he spotted his Bakugou. He took a mental image of the boy dressed in his hero costume to find a way in remembering which one was the real one. However he noticed the strange face he was making. He was not looking to anyone but instead he was looking to the ground with a worried expression on his face. Was he really worried about Midoriya? “Alright then, let’s get the door.” The chief of police stepped up to the door as Midoriya straightened his gloves. He was nervous but at the same time confident. Midoriya had found that recently he was just as much of people person as his mother so he could speak to people easier than most. Not to mention if this was a completely different person that he could talk to them like how he use to talk to Bakugou when they were children. The dog looked back at Midoriya then nodded to open the door. The door looked like just a normal hospital door but was heavier on the inside and it had multiple locks on the outside. This room was specifically built for villains in need of metal treatment so it was more of a prison than a comforting hospital room. Midoriya stepped inside listening to his heavy boots click on the tile floor. The room was fairly large with only a bed, a bedside table and a small stool for doctors to sit on. There were no windows which were a bit depressing to say the lease but with how bright the room was already you sure wouldn’t need them. As the door shut and locked behind him he looked back to be sure that it was shut. Midoriya’s eyes roamed the room until he located the target. In the bed strapped to an IV and a heartrate monitor sat the claimed Bakugou Katsuki. Even though the door had shut loudly he was hunched over staring down into his lap sitting cross-legged under a blanket. Midoriya wanted to assume he hadn’t recognized his presence yet but at the same time he knew someone’s eyes were on them. He threw the blame to the multiple security cameras watching them. Midoriya gulped feeling nervous about stepping towards him. His only excuse was that he didn’t want to scare him. Since his head was down he probably couldn’t even see him between his blond bangs but that didn’t make Midoriya feel any better. Was he asleep? Did he come at a bad time? “U-Uh…” The boy didn’t as much as stir from his presence. When he didn’t move Midoriya sighed and decided to walk over to him. Normally he would rethink such a dastardly move but there was nothing stopping him not even his conscious. He stood over the bed and gently bent down over to see if he could find his eyes. Just as he was about to reach out and touch the boy his head shot up and his heart stopped from the boy’s expression alone. Bakugou or whoever he was had not just a face filled with anger but his eyes weld with tears and he was obviously scared. Midoriya tried to jump back to give him space but the boy shot up from his bed throwing the blanket to the side and revealing his IV tube wrapped around both knuckles still connected. Midoriya quickly backed up about to shout for him to stop before he attacked but before he knew it Bakugou was now behind him and the tube was now twisted around his neck. As Midoriya lost his balance the tube quickly tightened around his neck beginning to cut his air flow. When he hit the ground he instinctively reached up hoping to grab it before it was too late but the tube was already tightening into his skin. “I’m not going out without a fight you bastard!” The blond shouted behind shouted and tightened his grip on the tubes. Midoriya felt himself being pulled closer to the boy until his back hit his chest. With that he watched as his legs wrapped around him to be sure he couldn’t escape. Midoriya knew he had made a fetal mistake right from the very beginning even after the clear warning his Bakugou had given him. Midoriya kicked his legs and hips gently twisting trying to get out of his grip but his legs only tightened. Damn he had some leg muscles. He choked gasping for air not realizing just how much air he was using just from the struggle. It was already beginning to darken around him and his head was starting to pound. “I’m sorry I did stop you sooner, I’ll join you soon…my love.” The last part Bakugou whispered and Bakugou at first didn’t hear it. He tried to ignore it and continued his struggle but it all had gotten even worst. His face was hot which meant he was already turning a different color from the loss of air. He tried to think of any way of getting out of this but something was stopping him. He wondered if it was his conscious telling him that it was a fruitless effort or was his ability to not want to hurt him? Just as Midoriya’s eyes began to roll back into his head he heard the door slam open and multiple people shouting for someone to stop. The chest behind him was suddenly distanced away but his body was being pulled roughly. He couldn’t hear anything clearly it was all just muffled but his feelings hadn’t numbed yet. Just as they did the air rushed back to this lungs and the tube fell off his neck. He gasped and fell to his knees feeling extremely weak and letting his body caught to normal. He rubbed his neck trying to ride the burning feeling of the imprint left on him. “Not gonna let it fucking happen,” Midoriya heard the voice behind him. He knew who it was but was unsure of which one had said it. He turned his head to confirm his Bakugou had come to his rescue holding the alternate Bakugou in a choke hold. It was his Bakugou who had said it. “Dammit Bakugou we told you to stay out there!” All Might came in behind them stomping his way over along with The Chief of Police and a couple of people to restrain the attacker. When they did they forced him back into his bed and chained his arms onto the bed. Strangely he was not fighting back and in fact looked around with a shocked face like he had a sudden realization. Midoriya was confused on how to feel but instead ignored his own feelings. “Midoriya are you alright?” All Might asked offering a hand to the boy who was still on the ground. Midoriya had regained his ability to stand and quickly took his mentors hands. “I’m fine, not really the reaction I expected though.” Midoriya looked back at the attacker but his view was blocked by Bakugou who stood in front of him glaring down at him. Midoriya looked up to him since they were still a tad bit different in height. “I. Told. You. So.” The green haired boy rolled his eyes and groaned. “Really, is now the time?” “Yeah it fucking is,” Bakugou kept his voice low to try and not drag the intention to himself. Luckily he didn’t have to worry about it since the police were now surrounding the other on the bed. The boy was strangling in their grip as they forced him back to his bed and chained his arms to the side. His screams were deafening and they didn’t sound as much of a struggle to get away as much as he was freaking out over what he had just done. He was scared. “Come on Midoriya, the Chief wants us to leave. He got what he wanted.” All Might set a hand on the green haired boys shoulder. His voice held a bitter tone to it. Midoriya understood this was the last thing he wanted. -------------------------- That night Midoriya sat in his dorm watching his blank computer screen lost in thought. He was nowhere near tired enough to sleep and the words that the clone had said to him kept repeating in his head. ‘I’m sorry I didn’t stop you sooner, I’ll join you soon…my love.’ Midoriya grimaced and grabbed his pillow pulling in to his chest. His mind was running rapid trying to think why he would say something like that to him. Was it because he mistook him for someone else? Or was it because he had a more intricate past with his Midoriya than they originally thought? “I feel so lost…” Midoriya whispered to himself. He felt so in the dark. He found someone who looked exactly like his friend and now they’re having to figure out if bad or good. Why can’t anything be simple? There was suddenly a gentle knock on his door. The knock was so gentle that Midoriya pretty much knew exactly who it was and smiled. “Come in!” As soon as he said it the door gently creaked open and in came Todoroki Shoto with two warm cups of tea and a bag of chips. “So I see I’m the only one awake at this hour.” Midoriya looked to his friend and smiled. “Yeah, I can’t sleep after today…” As the door shut behind him Midoriya scooted up to the edge of his bed and sat next to the red and white haired boy. He handed Midoriya a cup of tea and pulled the bag of chips open. “Aizawa had told us that you and Bakugou would be out for a few days. Did something happen to you two?” Midoriya took a sip of the tea and sighed. “Yeah but nothing like our normal fights we always have. This time we had some…crazy stuff happen.” Todoroki ate a couple of the chips then wavered the bag over to Midoriya who reluctantly took it. “Is it anything you can talk about?” Midoriya shook his head sadly. “No it’s confidential until further notice.” “I understand, but are you alright?” Midoriya stopped for a second. He wanted to say yes and that everything would be fine but in all honestly he didn’t know if it would be or not. He felt guilty for having to do that to someone who may or may not be someone he claims he is. It bothers him not knowing what to do. Midoriya simply shook his head and gazed down at his tea. “Well just to let you know if you ever need to talk to someone I’m here for you.” Todoroki’s hand gently rubbed Midoriya’s back comfortingly. Midoriya’s smile returned and he looked to his friend. “Thanks I guess I should go to bed,” Midoriya took a long drink of his tea and though it burned on the way down it was soothing and made his mind relax. He actually felt like he could get some sleep. It was then that he realized and looked over to Todoroki suspiciously. “What’s in this tea?” By the time his eyes locked with Todoroki he was already holding the door open and grinning back to Midoriya. “Just some sleep meds I happened to come across. I figured it’d be one of the only reasons you’d sleep. Night!” Before Midoriya could stutter a reply Todoroki was out the door and heading down the hall. He was already feeling woozy so he quickly shut off his desk lamp and flattened onto the bed. In a way he wanted to thank Todoroki for putting him to sleep, after all he probably would have just stayed up all night muttering to himself. At least now he wouldn’t be worried about anything. ---------------- Midoriya tossed and turned that morning. The light outside was unbearable which quickly told him just how late in the day it actually was. He snuck out from under his comforter and squinted at the alarm clock sitting above his head. It was just about to turn noon and yet he was still very tired. It was for this exact reason he didn’t like taking sleeping pills. He tossed over onto his back to face the wall hoping to ignore the light coming from his balcony. He just wanted a little bit more to sleep. That all faded when his phone suddenly started blaring. He groaned reaching up onto the headboard to grab it and rip it from its charger. He didn’t bother looking at the name or number and just accepted the call. “Hello..?” Midoriya groaned rubbing his eyes gently hoping to ease the dryness. “Ah Midoriya glad I could get a hold of you!” Midoriya felt confused at first but soon realize it was Tsuragamae. The boy quickly stiffed and sat up in bed trying to make it seem like he wasn’t still tired and in bed. “Oh sir, good morning!” The dog chuckled on the other line obviously laughing at the fact that it was almost the afternoon. “Good morning, I was hoping I would be able to convince you to come to the hospital today. We have some…important matters to discuss.” “Oh uh, I suppose so but…” Midoriya blinked confused. Wasn’t it a bit early to be giving him even more information? “Do I need to go get Bakugou as well?” “Oh no, he’s specifically asked for you not to mention the information I have for you. It only involves you.” His voice drowned out slightly almost as though his mood had taken a strange turn. Midoriya then realized what he had just said. He asked specifically for him? Who was he talking about? “If you can just show up whenever you have the chance, I’ll be here all day with my coworkers.” Before Midoriya could say anything the line disconnected. He looked at his phone confused. Was the person he referring to the Alternate Bakugou? That was very quick. ------------------------------ Midoriya stood in front of the hospital clenching his growling stomach. At first he had though it was just because he was hungry but he soon realized his anxiety had returned. If they had gotten all the information they had needed then that’s means that they had come to a conclusion about what to do with him. Would he be sentenced to a live in a mental institute or would they really be offering him help in his world? Midoriya took in a deep breath and headed inside. The minute he entered the main room Tsuragamae stood there waiting for him chatting on the phone with someone about his currently location. When he spotted Midoriya he quickly hung up the phone. “Glad you could make it, follow me.” The chief nodded his head to the elevator and the two went in alone. When the doors shut the dog pulled out a special key and turned it in one of the key holes. When he did they were lead up to the top floor of the building to a secluded hallway with only one room. His room. “So I’m sure you’re confused as to why we’ve brought you in so soon and alone.” The two of them stood before the door looking at each other. Midoriya wanted to look at the man but his eyes were drawn back to the door. Since there was no window to pear inside he could only imagine the room and the boy sitting in his bed probably just as drugged as last time. “Well we finally got all of the need information from him and unfortunately this information is something we can’t give out to just anyone including Bakugou and All Might.” Midoriya turned his gaze back to the chief with a confused expression. He almost feared what he was planning to say. “A-Alright, should I be worried?” He dared. When Tsuragamae turned his eyes away the pit in Midoriya’s stomach ached. He still kept his mouth shut and listened. “When we asked him if he knew a Midoriya Izuku…his reaction was a bit extreme. We had no idea why he would attack you like that…until now.” Nothing could prepare Midoriya for what he was about to hear. “Midoriya…you’re the reason his world is dying.” The green haired boy’s heart stopped and suddenly everything in his mind short- circuited. He was the reason? What could that mean? Oh who was he kidding, he knew exactly what that meant. Deku…was a villain in his world. “B-But…why…” He stuttered. Midoriya’s hand instinctively grabbed the wall to help hold himself up as his knees weakened. Never in his life had Midoriya even considered being a villain. His mentor was All Might because he was a symbol of peace and hope so it was hard to even imagine hating people that much. “From what he told us Izuku was like you, quirkless. Then the villain All Might came around and offered him his quirk. From there all hell broke loose.” Tsuragamae blatantly said. His gaze was turned away knowing full well that if he met Midoriya’s it would make it worst trying to explain the situation. “That’s why he attacked you yesterday because seeing your face triggered something for him.” Midoriya’s gut clenched and he could feel the regret slamming him the back of the head. Now all he could have wished was either not going in there in the first place or being more careful than he was. It wasn’t his fault that he attacked him and now his fate would be determined from one act. “We’ve come to a conclusion on what we’re going to do with him.” As the dog said that Midoriya’s head lifted up. The chief looked down to him with a serious expression and cleared his throat. “We’ve decided to listen to his plan and propose it the Pro Heroes to see if they’d be willing to help. However we also need to figure out how to get to the other universe in that process. Unfortunately this will take some time so we’re just going to have to wait it out as long as we can.” Midoriya finally pushed the villainous thought aside and focused on what he had just heard. They would be giving him a chance, which meant he wouldn’t be trapped in a cell like a crazed maniac. It was relieving to say the least. “But sir….what will you do with him in the meantime?” Midoriya asked. The dog placed his hands behind his back and stood tall. “Once he’s cleared to leave the hospital we’ll be putting in UA’s hands.” Midoriya’s eyes sparkled with hope. The pit he had slowly formed into an expression of joy. He was glad now knowing that the clone was real and he would be finally treated as a normal human being. “Oh and before you leave, he wants to see you.” The dog’s head motioned to the door. Midoriya looked to it and back to the dog confused and slightly worried. The last thing he would want to do would be trigger the poor guy again. “Don’t worry; we won’t have a repeat of yesterday not to mention he was the one who asked for you.” Midoriya’s hands nervously shook. Though he understood why the boy had done what he did that didn’t make Midoriya feel any less wary of him. After all that sneak attack he had pulled was something he never would have expected, it almost reminded him of something his Bakugou would pull. Maybe this would be the time to find the differences between them. “If you want I’ll join you,” Tsuragamae offered. Midoriya at first consider it but shook his head. “No, if he asked to see me then I’ll go in alone. I won’t underestimate him again.” Tsuragamae nodded to him and opened the door with his key. As he saw the room his neck itched from the now bruise wrapped all the way around his neck. He quickly stepped in and looked directly at the boy in the bed. This time he was fully aware of Midoriya’s presence and looking directly at him with a sad expression. As the door shut behind him Midoriya kept his gaze to him and set his back against the door not wanting to get anywhere near him. “U-Uh…” The blond stuttered. When he saw that Midoriya would not come near him he looked down in shame. “Izuku, I won’t…do anything I…I can’t exactly.” Midoriya watched as the boy raised his hands to show both arms were chained to the side of the bed. Even so Midoriya didn’t waver at all. His trust was broken yesterday by that stunt he pulled. “Thanks for coming…I shouldn’t expect anything less from you since I did that.” The boy smiled and gazed over to Midoriya. Midoriya wanted to smile back but he only averted his eyes. He couldn’t help but see his Bakugou every time he saw this alternate one even though it was obvious that they were polar opposites. “I called you in today to explain myself.” “You don’t really need to,” Midoriya said. “Officer Tsuragamae already told me why you attack me.” “Yes but…” Midoriya turned to the boy and watched as the boy’s face fell even farther. This time it looked more like self-loathing than apologetic. “There’s a whole lot more to the story than you might think.” Midoriya sighed and finally decided to step closer to the boy. His curiosity was getting the better of him since he so badly wanted to know what the story between them actually was. Maybe it would help him understand the situation better. Midoriya grabbed the nearest seat and pulled it under him being sure to still keep his distance. “Well then, enlighten me.” “First I’d like to say I’m sorry we got off on the wrong foot,” The blond smiled warmly, his smile somewhat reminded Midoriya of his own. “I’ve never been the best at introductions but call me Katsu.” Midoriya raised an eye brow. “Katsu? Why do you want to go by that?” “Well since you have another Bakugou in this world I figured it would be easier to go by a nickname instead.” “But, I already call my Bakugou Kacchan so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if we called you by your full name.” Midoriya shrugged. Katsu’s smile saddened at the question. “So you call him that two? The irony.” Midoriya saddened when he heard that. Obviously he didn’t like the nickname for it was just a reminder of the enemy. Katsu it would be then. “Alright Katsu, I’m Midoriya Izuku you can call me Deku if you’d like.” Midoriya returned the previous warm smile with his own. Katsu smiled and rubbed the back of his head. “I’d prefer to call you Izuku if that’s ok, like Kacchan the name Deku is a bit…well its bad news.” Midoriya shrugged. “That’s perfectly fine by me.” For once Midoriya was a bit surprise at how pleasant this conversation was lasting. The two of them were calm and all though Midoriya wanted to keep his distance for safety purposes he felt like he could shake his hand and begin a new friendship. “So Katsu, are you feeling alright?” Midoriya asked as he eyed the bandage on the blonde cheek. Not to mention the boy was in a long sleeve hospital robe in the middle of August. It wouldn’t be too long until it would start to get a bit colder. “Yeah you guys have some amazing doctors here; honestly I haven’t felt this good in years.” Katsu said. Midoriya stopped to think and realized that he didn’t know where to begin with the question. He knew that since he would have to get to know him as a completely different person he couldn’t just assume similarities between him and his Bakugou which left him at square one. Though he didn’t mind waiting to find the right time to ask questions. “So Izuku,” Katsu finally said breaking the silence between them. “Is there anything you’d like to know? Since you’ll be helping me with my…situation I’m open to any and all questions you have.” Midoriya nodded and scratched his chin to think of some random question. “Well why don’t you tell me about your world, I’m curious to know…what happened?” Katsu sighed and leaned back against the lifted bed. “Well where to start? I guess I should start with when the villains took over.” Midoriya crossed his leg over the other and waited until the blond was ready to talk. “Unlike your world we don’t exactly have a Hero’s Association it’s either your good person or a bad person. Not to mention our quirks are set with specific rules like not being able to use them without a permit. And let me just tell you; it’s not easy getting a permit.” Katsu chuckled slightly at the memory he had. “Our crime rate was normal even after quirks emerged so that’s why we never bothered assigning heroes anywhere. However that didn’t mean villains didn’t exist. They were just smart and strategical about how they planned attacks.” Midoriya gulped only trying to imagine living a peacefully life with villains going about their day to day lives without anyone knowing. Then again, it wasn’t much different in his world either. “One of the main villains that every single country and their mothers were after was All Might. He was the worst of the worst constantly pulling the most daring moves of any other villain in the world including turning countries against each other.” Katsu looked down at his hands that were now shaking. “One of the worst things he did was the terrorist attack of 1990 where he assassinated the American president on national TV. Everyone was going crazy sitting in their living rooms in fear as he said ‘I am here.’” Midoriya swallowed nervously feeling himself shaking in fear of the thought of his mentor saying his famous line maliciously. The thought almost didn’t occur to him but when it did, it was horrible. “After his presence on national TV the League of Villains formed and the entire world found themselves in chaos.” Katsu’s voice slowly drifted off. “Wars started, more terrorist attacks occurred and slowly we watched the world become as it is today; a desolate wasteland.” The idea of how many lives were lost twisted Midoriya’s stomach the wrong way. Luckily the lack of food in his stomach was preventing him from gagging. “I was born in Japan in a safe haven called Musutafu where we were under the mercy of the villains currently controlling the area.” Katsu looked back to Midoriya locking his eyes. “That’s the name of our city,” Midoriya said. “Yeah, even though we were basic slaves it wasn’t that bad as long as you did as you were told. The town was still intact and we actually had homes since both my mother and father worked. There were curfews of course but it was something you just go use to. Hell there was even a day care for me to go to while they were working…that’s where I first met Izuku Midoriya.” Midoriya’s head lifted at the mention of his name. He was a bit surprised to know that in this alternate reality the two of them had met roughly at the same age he and Bakugou had. “When Izuku and I first met he was the most confident and reckless person I had ever met and that’s why I admired him so much. We were complete opposite making me the weak and frail one with no real potential in life. Kids were cruel so I was always the bully victim even when I tried to be nice to people but luckily…he was my hero in every possible situation I found myself in.” The blond sadly smiled. Midoriya chuckled a bit when he realized just how similar their stories were but opposite. However in his childhood he wasn’t bullied until he was ladled quirkless not to mention Bakugou became one of those bullies. “When our quirks started emerging everyone but me was so excited. I was so young but I still completely understood how the world worked and in a way I knew exactly how my quirk would come. When it did I cried. It was loud and so destructive and that was the last thing I wanted especially since in my world silence is golden.” Katsu looked at his hands and gently rubbed his pals. “People of course made fun of me for being upset over my quirk but Izuku was once again was there to the rescue. “He…he helped me find some great qualities in my quirk. Izuku made me feel like it was one of the best quirks ever…I’ll never forget how he made me feel that day. But the joy of that day quickly faded…Izuku was soon labeled quirkless…” Like him. Midoriya sighed. Of course he’d be quirkless in another world. It must be destiny. “However when all of the bullies turned towards him I got to meet a completely different Izuku I never knew existed. When I went out to see the bullies picking on him I expected him to be crying like I would be but instead I found one of the kids on the floor with a broken nose and missing teeth.” Midoriya gasped and looked at Katsu. “W-wait, my other self did that to someone?” Katsu nodded and bitterly scoffed. “That was only the first instance, after that things only got worst but I digress. After that he took their spiteful name ‘Deku’ to heart and started using as his nickname. He refused to be called anything other than that and if anyone had a problem with that…well I’m sure you understand. “Anyway our friendship was still the same and in fact we became even closer. Izuku was still my number one inspiration and well I felt almost lost without him. I wish I was smarter and had realized sooner what he was truly becoming.” Katsu’s face fell into his hands as he sighed and shook his hand. “I was so stupid; I thought that he would somehow become a hero and end all of the worlds issue with his god damn smile….then just before we entered the next year in school everything came crashing down on me.” Midoriya scooted his chair closer feeling the need to hug the poor boy before him. His expression alone spoke so much more than words could describe. It must be painful to be talking about his friend like this; Midoriya had no idea what Katsu must be going through. “Izuku became detached and indifferent towards everyone including me. We were teenagers at the time so I just expected it to be some teen angst or whatever but little did I know that bastard was plotting and making a decision that would lead us here…” The boys head still sat in his hands trying to hide the tears forming in his eyes. “He…he left without saying a word. We were only 13 at the time. I tried to even go to his home and no one answered. I felt lost…I had no one left and I didn’t know what to do with myself. “At the same time the villains had started getting crueler than normal. They never told anyone why but my dad was one of the victims of their torture. It was after I found out what they did to him something…ignited in me. With that I joined the rebel alliance and became one of the leaders of my own brigade.” When he finally pulled his head out from his hands he had a slight smile on his face but it didn’t last and it still held a much deeper meaning. Midoriya didn’t want to press but his curiosity got the better of him. “So how did you find out Izuku was a villain?” Katsu’s face stayed unchanged but his eyes flowed up and down Midoriya’s body making the green haired boy blush slightly without realizing. “We were out on a mission looking for resources for our medical team when we were ambushed. We were all knocked out by some kind of gas and the last thing I saw were my mates getting dragged away. When I woke up…” There was a long pause between Katsu’s word and Midoriya quickly reached out to him when he noticed that he was about to cry. Katsu started shaking and his breath began to stutter. “W-When I woke up I was in a dark room with my arms tied up to the roof. I thought I was gonna die and in a way I was prepared to…then he stepped into the room.” Katsu finally began to let tears go but they were rough since he was still trying to hold them back. “I-I won’t describe to you what happened b-but that’s when he showed me the quirk he i-inherited from All Might. He told me that he was chosen to be the leader of the League of Villains and….and from then on we became enemies.” Just as Katsu began to finally let cry out Midoriya’s body moved on instinct and pulled the boy into a hug. Midoriya’s heart broke along with his. He had no idea what the other worlds Izuku had done to Katsu but the fact that he could even talk about it was enough said. The blond sobbed against his chest and soon his arms lifted until he was now holding Midoriya against him. Midoriya’s conscious told him he was making a mistake but he simply pushed the ignorant voice aside and continued hugging the blond. They stayed like this for almost thirty minutes. ‘It’s no wonder he attacked me on sight, Izuku Midoriya must be a really sick person.’ Midoriya thought. Chapter End Notes Ah I finally finished up this chapter but once again I'm sure you'll find plenty of mistakes because I simply do not have the energy to proof read (I'm a horrible person) So if you find anything wrong hit me up. So we have a back story for our Alternate Universe Bakugou, I'm a bit proud but at the same time a little worried that it's not to creative. Idk I guess that's up for debate. Also I couldn't think of a good nickname for Rebel Bakugou so I was given the advice of Katsu. So hopefully that'll make this easy to read and write.   So I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter I also would like to thank you all for the lovely kudos and comments you all left on the first chapter it was so heart warming to see you guys enjoyed it so much. And with that I hope you guys have a lovely day! ***** First Day Out ***** Chapter Notes Hey guys so I have another chapter for you guys finally. So first of all I have both good news and bad new. The bad news is that I'm moving which means I'm not going to have internet for quite some time. The good news is that in that time I will continue writing for all of my story including this story, Simpler Times, and Tales of an Adventurer (No i have not given up on this story just had some major writers block) I actually had some recent writers block on all of my stories I plan on fixing that with some much needed practice of plotting and what not. Also I'd like you all to give a warm welcome to Ryxmas who's has so kindly become my beta for my fics. Honestly I love learning about how to improve my work so this is going to make it even better when trying to write so once again thank you so much Ryxmas! I greatly appreciate it. So without further adieu here's the next chapter See the end of the chapter for more notes “Okay so let me get this straight,” Inko, Midoriya’s mother, said as she fumbled around with something in the background. “So there’s two Bakugou’s one from our world and the other from some bad apocalypse one…and that one prefers to be called Katsu, correct?” “Yes mom,” Midoriya couldn’t help but chuckle at her confused tone. “There’s still a whole lot more to be said about the matter but I can only give you so much information.” “I see well I can already tell you this is going to be trouble…” The woman on the phone gently shrieked. “Oh no, the noodles! Anyway Izuku, how is Bakugou taking the whole situation?” Midoriya stopped and tried to recall when the last time he saw his friend but could only remember yesterday when Katsu attacked him. “To be honest mom, I’m not sure. He’s just as lost about it as everyone else is. It kinda worries me to think about how’ll react to the newest of development in the situation.” “Oh right, the police are going to place him in Yuuei’s custody, right?” Midoriya sighed just thinking about it. Not only was Katsu being placed under Yuuei’s custody but he too had a responsibility for him. After his visit with Katsu, the Chief of Police had noticed how well the two got along and decided that he would be staying with Midoriya at Yuuei until the time being. Tomorrow, the two of them would spend a day getting Katsu everything he needs and adjusting him to this world’s rules. He was excited on one hand but on the other, he was scared to see everyone else’s reactions including Bakugou himself. “Yeah…” Midoriya said shakingly. “I’m not so sure how I feel about it…ya know?” Inko giggled. “Well Izuku I can tell you one thing for sure, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders and I know you can handle anything that comes your way. Just show the boy that this world isn’t as bad as the media likes to portray it, and show Bakugou that no matter who this other world person is it’s not him. They’re two entirely different people who just so happened to share some similarities.” Midoriya could help but think of snide comment mentally but he chose to keep it that way. “Yeah, well if you don’t hear from me just know I tried my best.” “Alright Izuku, be safe on your way home. It’s too bad I didn’t get to see you today but I understand that you’re busy so let’s makes plans another time okay?” Inko smiled over the phone and Midoriya could hear it in her voice. “Alright mom, love you.” As Inko said her goodbyes, Midoriya hung up the phone and continued his walk back to the school. It was late into the afternoon meaning that school was over and that the entire school grounds were covered in students. As he stepped through the gates, his eyes instantly caught a particular blond standing with his friends. Bakugou. The green haired boy bit his lip knowing that the situation wouldn’t be pleasant, and since they stood in such large a crowd, they would only start a scene. He quickly decided to try and avoid him to the best of his abilities by heading towards the side entrance. Midoriya also made sure to keep his head down to avoid anyone else who might blow his cover. Just as he spotted the side entrance, that all too familiar hand grabbed his shoulder and caused his skin to jump. The heat coming from the palm was even more familiar since he could feel the rage growing from the other. Midoriya turned his head and out of the corner of his eye, he met Bakugou’s gaze. “We need to talk. Now,” Bakugou growled silently. His friends were now in the distance and it was just the two of them standing there. Before Midoriya could protest, he was lead to same entrance he was already heading towards. No one followed them and more people were beginning to disperse from Bakugou’s glares that he shot at everyone who stared. When the two of them entered the building and found themselves alone Bakugou turned to Midoriya and took a calming deep breath. “So what are they gonna do with that fuckwad?” Bakugou smirked. Midoriya chuckled silently to himself when he realized that Bakugou was still unaware of the situation. He thought about torturing his friend by keeping his mouth shut, but soon realized that if he did, he would probably regret it. After all, Bakugou is a vindictive person and Midoriya wouldn’t put anything past him. “Look, I don’t know if I can even tell you anything,” Midoriya admitted. His chest was suddenly struck and he felt the wall hit his back hard. “Don’t play that shit Deku.” Bakugou glared at him and grabbed the boy’s collar. “This fucker is copying my face and my name not yours. So tell me what you know or expect to be in a grave in five seconds.” Midoriya gulped nervously, beginning to feel the fear he had felt many years back. This threat was nothing like the normal ones he had received in the past, meaning that Bakugou meant it, which was reasonable considering the point Bakugou had just driven into his mind. Katsu was his doppelganger not Midoriya’s. Midoriya finally lifted his arms in defeat. “Alright fine, but don’t take your anger out on me. I don’t make any of these decisions.” Bakugou released his collar. “Of fucking course.” “They’ve decided to listen to him and the case is going to be handled appropriately,” Midoriya said calmly, watching Bakugou get even angrier. “He’s given them all the information he can, so until they can figure out a way to his world he’s being placed under Yuuei’s custody-” Midoriya squeaked as Bakugou’s already lit hand came for him. He ducked instinctively and watched as the blond’s hand collided with the wall. He looked up to the blond who was grinding his teeth together and growling. “You’re all such fucking jokes!” Bakugou shouted, ripping his arm from the hole in the wall he created. “They literally have no fucking proof and they’re probably giving him everything he fucking wants!” Midoriya fell back onto his ass, staring up at the now pissed off Bakugou. This was a bit of a minor reaction to the situation but he knew that this was just the beginning of his fit. “And you-” He pointed down to Midoriya with a threatening finger. “Even after that bastard attacked you, you still pity him and believe every fucking word that comes out of that lying fucking mouth of his. I thought you were smarter than that Deku. Obviously I overestimated you.” Midoriya tried to defend himself but the blond turned on his heels shouting in frustration. “W-Wait Kacchan, we should talk about this!” “That bastard won’t be allowed to even step foot on my turf, at least alive…” Bakugou mumble but Midoriya heard every word clearly. His body shot up and quickly chased after the blond. “Kacchan please listen to,” Midoriya cried. “Get lost loser,” Bakugou growled clenching his fists even more. “Kacchan! If you’d just meet Katsu you’d maybe learn a thing or two from him.” Midoriya continued urging for the blond to stop. “You guys are completely different in more ways than one and he’s just looking for-” Bakugou stopped slamming Midoriya onto his back. A deep chuckle formed in Bakugou’s chest before it all finally released as a malicious laugh with a hidden meaning. Midoriya stepped back and glared at him. “Katsu? That’s what you call him?” Bakugou turned to Midoriya and continued to laugh. “Wow that guy’s not even creative with his name. He’d be better off choosing a different face and name. What a fucking loser.” Midoriya growled. “Shut up Kacchan, he has his own reasons for not wanting to be called Kacchan or Bakugou.” “And what? Do you actually know this reason?” Bakugou shoved his hands in his pockets and lifted an eyebrow. “Yeah I do, because I actually got to know him today.” Midoriya crossed his arms. Somehow he felt confident in saying that but the look Bakugou was giving him was slowly shredding it like a piece of paper. “Aww little Deku made a friend with a fake. Ha! Pathetic.” Bakugou turned away again this time more cruelly than last time if that was even possible. This time Midoriya didn’t chase him and instead shot daggers at the back of Bakugou’s head. He knew this was all just a joke to Bakugou and since they were look-alikes it was only natural to feel like he was being played but this was just ridiculous. Sure they didn’t have much proof other than Katsu himself but why else would he keep this act up? -------------------------- Midoriya burst through the emergency room doors ignoring every word the medics and subordinates were throwing at him. The media had surrounded them outside but pushing past them was not a problem when they saw that he was in a bad mood. After receiving the news of All Might being injured Midoriya quickly left leaving everything behind including Uraraka his partner. As he reached the door everyone finally stopped behind him still bombarding him with questions. The thought of killing all of them crossed his mind but he quickly retracted the thought and waiting for silence. When he finally got his wish he grasped the door handle and shot them all a threatening look. Midoriya opened the door without hesitation and quickly shut it behind him, listening to the chaos that was beginning to ensue. The room was filled with noisy monitors and since this hospital was specifically built inside their hideout it was very plain, similar to an asylum patient’s room. Midoriya wanted to comment on it, but when his eyes locked with his mentors’ malicious grin he silenced all thought. “Ah Deku, my boy, finally arrived.” The large built man beckoned to Midoriya with his finger, urging him closer. Midoriya shoved his gloves in his back pocket and marched over to All Might. His mind was still blank, he wore no expression whatsoever. Even so, All Might could sense the pity in him. “So the time has finally come, old man.” Midoriya mocked as he scanned over the man’s body. There was no physical damage, meaning he was slowly dying from the quirk transfer he had performed long ago. Well, time flies when you’re having fun. “You almost sound sad, Deku.” All Might laughed harshly, which turned into a painful cough as blood began to trickle down his chin. His smile never wavered. Interesting. “So a little birdy tells me you’re still having issues with our little Katsuki. Tell me how that’s going.” Midoriya doesn’t waver from his expressionless state, but when their eyes met, he could see the sparks fly. This was only one of many times that Bakugou Katsuki had gotten away from him, all because he wanted to play with his food before eating it. Normally All Might would brush this off, but being on his deathbed meant there would be no way of escaping his anger this time. “The bastard got away to another world.” Midoriya spoke calmly, biting his tongue right after as he reminded himself of his foolish mistake. Even so there was a hidden sense of no regret but he couldn’t think on it and chose to ignore it instead. “If only you had killed him when you had the chance.” The man rolled his head to the side and looked out the small window speaking in a disappointed tone. “I thought I taught you better than to second guess my judgment.” Midoriya couldn’t help but feel angered by these words. He wouldn’t even look back at his protégé, a harsh reminder of when he had first showed Bakugou mercy. Though his voice was filled with disappointment there was also a slight sense of curiosity that Midoriya couldn’t help but notice. It was this small heed of words that Midoriya realized why he was offered the role of All Might’s apprentice. All Might was bored. Such an interesting way of seeking enjoyment in one’s life. “In any case my boy,” All Might kept his head faced away, but held out a hand to Deku, who took it without question. “My time has finally come and with that I must officially pass down my role as leader of The League of Villains to you.” The grip on his hand tightened, Midoriya instinctively tightening his hold as well. The gesture was sweet and though it was supposed to be an emotional moment between them, Midoriya knew better than to show sadness in front of All Might, even though all he wanted to do was cry. No matter how much of a heartless killer All Might tried to form him into, like Bakugou, he couldn’t help but feel something for them even if it was weak. He had even killed his parents in cold blood just to prove to All Might he was worthy. While they screamed and cried for their lives Midoriya knew that All Might was watching and his emotions would be put to the test. Midoriya suppressed all he could while slaughtering his parents like animals. He felt nothing and he still had no regrets except for leaving Bakugou behind. “I expect great things from you my boy, I believe I’ve trained you well. However, know this,” All Might turned back to Midoriya still wearing his proud grin. He released Midoriya’s hand and gripped him by the collar, pulling the boy down to eye level. Midoriya returned to his emotionless gaze. “Your days of being soft are over. I made you into what you are and though I was planning on beating it out of you after this failure time has….slipped past me. Now show me the monster I made and kill Bakugou Katsuki once and for all.” Midoriya finally exposed himself and grimaced at the idea. After all these years All Might would finally be putting Midoriya’s loyalty to the true test; to kill his best friend and love of his life or lose the blessing of his master. From the very beginning, he had hoped that one day Bakugou would be by his side and the two of them could rule together happily under All Might’s watch. Now, that was but an naϊve imagination only a child could think of. If he was to truly become the leader of the League of Villains and be anything like his master, he would need to finally stop playing and instead put all of this out of its misery. “I will, master,” As the words left Midoriya’s lips the room was filled with the sound of a flatline and he heard the man’s heart come to a complete halt. His collar was dropped but he himself couldn’t move. Something inside his chest heated but his limbs went cold. It was the same feeling he had the night he was forced to leave Bakugou behind to begin his training. Midoriya then realized that he actually felt sad about the death of his master. Even though the machines were alerting the doctors and Midoriya could slightly hear the raging crowd outside, the door remained shut. The boy stood tall and looked over his master’s body once more before letting a single tear slip. When it did, everything that he was feeling swelled in his chest and ignited something Midoriya never thought he would experience until now. His mind went numb and with it, a laugh rose in his chest.. Midoriya chuckled harshly, knowing he had to suppress this whirlwind of emotions, but it was too late, as he let out a maniacal laugh that echoed against the walls and cascaded out the doors. The crowd hushed but only for a second and in the next, the door opened and in came the doctors, followed by a large group of the League of Villain lackeys. Midoriya’s laugh died down as he watched the medics begin their work but the emotions persistently sat in his chest. Even so, he was sure to force a smile as he turned to face everyone. Uraraka had finally arrived and though she stood behind the second in commands, his gaze found hers and he watched as she quickly caught onto what had just happened. Her eyes filled with admiration and excitement. Izuku Midoriya was now the leader of the League of Villains, all at the age of 17. The media stood back behind the members, but making sure to keep their camera and microphones up to catch what Midoriya was going to say next, even though they all heard it through the door. As they resumed questions, Midoriya found that his ears were still ringing and he couldn’t hear a word they were saying. Instead, he found the first camera and smiled at it. “You heard it here first, my friends,” Midoriya lifted his arms, basking in the attention. “There’s a new leader in town, and with that we have a new mission.” ---------------------- Midoriya gazed down at the list in his hands, and with a worried look, glanced back up to the entrance sign to the Kyashi Ward Shopping Mall. Though the list was very simple and filled with only things the police deemed necessary for Katsu, Midoriya had no idea where to begin at such a large shopping center and since they had to get pretty much everything in one day, Midoriya’s anxiety swelled even more. Luckily none of this would be coming out of his pocket, instead coming from a Yuuei Company Card. But that was only one of the bright sides to the situation. Midoriya glanced over to Katsu to see how the other was doing and though at first he expected to see the blond afraid and nervous, he was quite the opposite. Katsu stood there gazing at the large mall with sparkles in his eyes and with his pulled hands close to this chest. “Wow, t-there’s so many people….” Katsu gawked. Midoriya couldn’t help but smile at the scene. Obviously seeing a bunch of strangers in one place at once was a mystical sight in Katsu’s world. “Yeah people from all over the world come to malls like these.” Midoriya nodded his head over to some girls speaking German hoarding the malls directory. Katsu looked over to them then back to Midoriya. “I won’t lie; I’m excited to do this.” Midoriya sighed. “At least that makes one of us.” Katsu looked at him and raised an eyebrow. “What’d you mean?” “Oh nothing, just,” Midoriya looked at him with a weak smile. “Crowds like this just give me anxiety and this list is so simple but there’s like 15 to 20 clothing stores. Not to mention we have to get you things like shoes, bathroom supplies and a mat since you’ll be staying in my room. Oh we also need to go grocery shopping afterword since now there will be an extra person using the kitchen. Oh damn it, we also need to be on the lookout for Bakugou because he threatened you and his threats usually aren’t bluffs-” Katsu laughed playfully, breaking Midoriya’s train of thought and uncontrollable muttering. “Man, is that what I sound like when I start muttering? No wonder Izuku would hit me across the back of the head.” Midoriya couldn’t help but smile after remembering hearing Katsu say he too has an issue with muttering. Oh Bakugou is just gonna love him in class. “Alright so why don’t we start with like the first clothing shop we find?” Katsu asked. “Then we’ll just get a couple pairs of clothing from there and see where that takes us?” Midoriya nodded and the two of them headed into the mall finding themselves already buried deep into the crowd. Midoriya fought the urge to let his anxiety grow anymore and turned his attention to Katsu whose moving through the crowd to find a store. The blond looks a bit strange being dressed in a hospital given shirt and pants but Midoriya can’t help but feel comfortable around him. In fact, his sense of anxiety began to fade away as well; it was similar to when he was with Bakugou. They could be looking at death in the face, but as long as he was there, Midoriya had all the courage in the world. “Oh look! I spotted something Izuku!” Katsu points over the crowd up to the second floor. Midoriya looks up to the store and notices the glass windows filled with mannequins dressed in men’s clothing. Perfect. “Nice eye, let’s head upstairs then.” Katsu nods to Midoriya and they head up to the store. As they get closer Midoriya notices it’s an old store he remembers Bakugou going to. That had been a long time ago and not to mention it was only when his mom dragged him along. Oh well, it can’t be that bad, after all Bakugou did tend to be good with fashion. When they walk into the store, there’s gentle music playing in the background and it’s not filled with their new winter clothing section since the season was just around the corner. They also had some shoes displayed on the back wall which was going to make this easier in Midoriya’s favor. “Your worlds clothing choice is a bit different,” Katsu comments as he gazes up at a mannequin wearing a pair of crotch drop pants. Midoriya more or less agree with him. “What do you guys normally wear, Katsu?” Midoriya asks. “Eh, just military gear and you know, bulletproof vests.” Katsu laughs but stops when he sees Midoriya’s worried look. “Don’t worry, it was a joke. Though it’s still nothing like this. If you grew up like Izuku and I did you had to wear a specific uniform.” Midoriya mouthed an ‘oh’ as a worker came up behind him. “Welcome you two, how can I help you today?” She asked looking at the two of them with an obviously fake smile. “We’re looking to get my friend here a new wardrobe.” Midoriya spoke first. “Oh I see well we’re having a huge sale on our summer clothes.” She pointed over to the back near the shoes. “I would highly recommend it along with some winter clothes as well.” When Midoriya nodded, the girl bounced off back to the cash registers. The two of them walked over to the clothes on sale and quickly skimmed through it. The clothes weren’t bad but since it was slightly chilly out, he chose to avoid the shorts all together but that left him looking at the skinny jeans that were left over from summer. Midoriya bit his lip feeling a bit worried about picking an outfit for Katsu. Luckily, he already knew his sizes since the hospital gratefully gave them to him. However, Midoriya had never really been one to care about fashion. For the most part, he would let his mother pick his clothes out and he would decide what to buy after. Though he hasn’t experienced this as of late because he hasn’t grown much in the last couple years. However, he wasn’t fully ready to trust that Katsu could pick anything out for himself since they obviously had some…differences. “So Izuku, have you found anything? “Katsu asked, walking up behind Midoriya, who was hunched over into the clothes. “Oh no but,” When he turned to Katsu, he quickly looked over his body to see if he could imagine what the boy would wear, but only found himself being dressed exactly like Bakugou. He then had a sudden plan hatch in his mind. “Katsu, what are your favorite colors?” Katsu pursed his lip and scratched his chin. “Well I like the color orange and red and things similar to that. It’s what my parents always dressed me in.” Midoriya bit the inside of his cheek and looked back to the clothes. Unfortunately their Bakugou was the same way; he tended to favor the darker clothes than anything else. This was going just as hard as he thought. ‘I guess I’ll just have to dress him like Bakugou and hope no one gets them confused.’ Midoriya thought as he immediately grabbed a black tank top and some green pocketed pants and handed them to Katsu. “Go try those on and we’ll go from there.” Midoriya quickly lead Katsu to the dressing room. When they entered Midoriya stood outside his door waiting until Katsu was dressed. At first Midoriya felt a bit worried when he heard Katsu rattling around but soon after the door slowly opened. Midoriya started from his feet and going up, but the farther he got, the more he saw Bakugou and not Katsu. The two had a very similar stature and since the pants gently sagged off his waist, it didn’t make the sight any better. However when Midoriya looked up at Katsu, the look completely changed when he saw the blond wearing a pair of black snowboarding goggles on his head, his bangs pulled back behind them. “Where did you get those?” Midoriya asked, getting a closer look by stepping forward. Katsu grinned and gently adjusted them on his head. “These were a birthday present from an old friend of mine back in my world. They’ve grown on me and I’ll be damned if I let the hospital take them from me.” Midoriya wanted to scold Katsu for stealing from the hospital but quickly stopped himself. Honestly, this would make things easier when trying to tell them apart. Hopefully, the school will let him keep them. “You know what, they look great on you,” Midoriya said shoving his hands into his pockets. The two of them quickly went to search for more clothing and after two hours of trying out clothes, they had officially chosen about 10 outfits and one of which Katsu would be wearing out as they continued through the mall. They also had picked out a couple pairs of shoes while in there. Apparently, Katsu was a fan of combat boots. Luckily, Midoriya was also able to get him into a pair of Vans and high top Converse. They still got the combat boots anyways since Katsu had a brilliant puppy dog face. As the two of them exited the store Midoriya couldn’t help but notice how hungry he was. Once he had woken up this morning he had forgot to eat before heading out to get Katsu. Not to mention the meeting the police and he had before handing Katsu over it was now almost one in the afternoon. It was amazing to see how much energy Midoriya still had. “Hey Katsu, by any chance are you hungry?” Midoriya asked shyly as his stomach continued to loudly growl. Katsu nodded. “Yeah I could go for a bite.” The two of them raced down the stairs, carrying their bags closely to their chests as the crowd got thicker near the food court. Midoriya and Katsu quickly found a spot to sit at. Afterwards, Midoriya decided to get them pizza since it was a quick and easy meal. The two were very alike and even though Katsu came from a darker past than Midoriya, he was still a very hopeful person and was finding himself to be a whole lot happier than most people. As Midoriya ordered and took the pizza over to Katsu, he noticed the blond speaking to a small blonde girl who looked completely flushed when trying to talk. “Oh yeah so I’ve never been here myself but I know there’s a mall directory at the multiple entrances. Don’t worry, there are English translations for you too.” Katsu point the woman over to one of the nearest entrances as he spoke softly to her. Midoriya’s jaw completely dropped and the pizza was slowly slipping from his hands. It took him a long while to finally understand what they were talking about as Midoriya hardly knew any English. It was one of his unfortunately worst subjects, even though his father was currently living in the States. Every so often Midoriya would forget that neither he nor his mother could speak it without embarrassing themselves and repeatedly stuttering in the conversation. Katsu on the other hand was speaking it completely fluently, as though he had grown up knowing both languages. Not to mention when speaking English he had no accent at all which was one of the worst parts about learning the language. “Oh thank you so much, I’m so sorry for bothering you.” The girl bowed to Katsu who politely asked her to stop. She quickly thanked him again and rushed off to the directory waving to Katsu. Midoriya quickly caught the pizza just before it fell out of his hands and slowly walked over to Katsu who was trying to make sure the girl got to her destination. Midoriya set the pizza down accidently catching Katsu off guard and making him jump. “I didn’t know you could speak English?” Midoriya said still trying to keep his mouth closed from gawking at Katsu. The blond raised an eyebrow. “Oh, so is English not normally spoken around here? I guess that should be obvious, since everyone in the office and the doctor spoke to me in Japanese. That must be why she was asking me for directions, poor girl probably didn’t know Japanese. Strange…” Midoriya looked at him confused. “Wait what do you mean by ‘not normally spoken here’? Do people in your world naturally know English?” “Yeah, ever since the League of Villains came into play there’s not really any boarder separation so anyone you happen to run into can speak a completely different language. My mom happens to be American so English comes naturally to me.” “So there’s another difference between you two.” Midoriya spoke aloud. After realizing he did he watched Katsu look at him funny. “Oh sorry I mean between you and Bakugou. His parents are both Japanese but yours are not. I’ve been kinda…jotting down notes of your differences.” Midoriya flushes slightly at the embarrassing confession. However Katsu laughs it off and waves at his face. “It’s fine; if you want the honest truth I’ve been doing it to you too.” “Oh and how different are we?” Midoriya dares. “Worlds.” The two sit there eating in silence. When the answer left Katsu lips Midoriya couldn’t help but recall what Katsu had said about his worlds Midoriya and the fact that he’s one of the reason the world is so messed up. Saying that the two were worlds apart was both a good sign and bad. It was good because that meant that Midoriya wasn’t making him feel awkward or slowly sending him into panic attacks but it was bad because it was showing just how horrible the other Midoriya actually was. “So is there a music store in here?” Katsu asked breaking Midoriya out of his train of thought. “Oh uh yeah, somewhere around here.” Midoriya said with a huge bite of pizza in his mouth. “Why’s that, you wanna see what our music taste is like?” Katsu shyly looked away. “Yeah actually, I kinda have trouble sleeping without some music so I was hoping to see if I could get myself a pair of headphones and something to listen to.” “Alright, why don’t we go there next?” Midoriya offered. Katsu nodded and began scarfing down the rest of his pizza, ignoring Midoriya’s useless pleading for him to stop. When the two finished Katsu went to look at the directory and found that the nearest music store was one the first floor at the other end of the mall. While the two walked there, Midoriya happened to notice a tattoo spread across his shoulders that was peeking out from behind Katsu’s tank top. It looked exactly like Bakugou’s flare shaped attachments he wore with his hero costume. Before he could stop Katsu to mention them, he also noticed something in the center of his back that looked like an old burn mark. When Midoriya got closer he noticed it was a branding symbol with a rugged looking rabbit in the center. One of its ears had a large bite in it and the other was drooped down. In place of its teeth were two sharp fangs. Midoriya didn’t know what it was, but the fact that it was a branding was what scared him. “K-Katsu…” Midoriya reached out to the blond, setting his hand on his shoulder. Katsu stopped and turned back to face Midoriya. “What’s up Izuku? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” “U-Uh…what are those on your back?” Katsu looked over his shoulder to see what he was looking at and noticed his tattoos were showing. “Oh, those? Well, while no one calls me by this name except when it’s being used as code during our missions, I was given the nickname Atomic Phoenix and I decided to take the nickname seriously and got a pair of wings on my back.” Midoriya nodded. “I see but um…w-what about….what about that branding?” When the word slipped Katsu’s expression did as well and he looked away embarrassed. “Listen now’s not the time to talk about that. I promise I’ll tell you soon but uh…I’d rather not ruin this day.” Midoriya nodded again and chose not to push him further. Katsu was right, even though they were just shopping it was currently a very peaceful time and they were both enjoying their times together. Maybe it was better to just leave it as a mystery for now. Katsu will tell him when the time was right. “Oh Izuku look,” Katsu’s happy tone and smile returned as he spotted the music store. In a swift movement Katsu grabbed Midoriya’s wrist and yanked him forward dragging him behind him. Midoriya tried to not think anything on it but he couldn’t help but notice the way Katsu was holding his hand even after the reached the store. It only took a quick second for Katsu to pull away but Midoriya was already blushing and reminiscing on the warmth he felt in his hand. Strangely, it reminded him of when he and Bakugou were kids, before either of them were the age to get quirks. Bakugou held his hand like that as he lead Midoriya to the doctor after he had injured himself. Though Bakugou blatantly insulted him for getting injured, the gesture was all that mattered to Midoriya. “Hey Izuku, you coming?” Katsu asked. Midoriya looked up from his hand and nodded, rushing over to Katsu’s side. While Midoriya wasn’t much of a music fan, himself he always found those one or two songs he couldn’t help but listen to when getting himself pumped up or during a workout.   “So what kind of music did you listen to in your world Katsu?” Midoriya asked, quickly stopping in the vinyl section. “Oh well I mostly like Japanese and American rock.” Katsu replies as he flips through some of the CDs, looking curiously through them. “Do have anything for me to listen to?” Midoriya walks over to the CDs and quickly grabs one of his favorite artist’s albums. “Here, this album always gets me pumped to work out.” They find one of the nearest CD players with some headphones attached to it. Midoriya makes sure to keep the CD cover out of Katsu’s few just in case he would get upset over the type of music it was. Midoriya slipped on the headphone over Katsu’s head and waiting for the song to play. Though he could hear it he could already imagine listening to the song and it got his adrenaline pumping already. Katsu’s face was a bit slow to react but when the song finally started to pick up the blond shut his eyes and smiled gently swaying to the song. Midoriya smiled when he saw that Katsu was enjoying it in fact he quickly went to grab another CD from the pile. When he returned Katsu was now rocking out bouncing in place and holding the headphones against his ears. It was certainly a sight to see and the fact that other customers were staring and Katsu didn’t care made Midoriya smile even more. When the song ended Katsu pulled off the headphones. “Wow that song was great, who’s the artist?” Midoriya laughed and handed him the CD along with the case. “His name is Kenshi Yonezu and the song was called Peace Sign. It’s one of my personal favorites.” Katsu nodded. “I’d definitely listen to that when working out or getting ready for a mission.” “Alright well here’s another, this band is called One Ok Rock. They were pretty popular in both Japan and America since they tour there a lot.” Midoriya handed him that CD as well and watched as Katsu listened to that one as well. The two of them ended up staying there for an entire hour and Katsu seemed to be having the time of his life. He not only found plenty of music he liked from Japan, but he also found plenty of Westerns songs. Of course, all of them were ended up on Katsu’s new phone so he could listen to them at night. They also bought him a great pair of headphones. After they were done with the store, they went to pick up the last of their items on the list. While walking through the mall, Midoriya could feel a pit develop in his stomach, feeling as if they were being watched. Even with this feeling, the crowd was much too dense for him to catch anyone in this act. He kept the feeling in the back of his mind and focused his attention onto Katsu. If anyone was watching them it’s because of him and not Midoriya. His mind jumped back to thinking about the brand and his face sunk as well. In a way, Midoriya already knew exactly what the branding was but he wondered what this symbol was and who gave it to him? Or were the answer to those questions just too obvious?
