He pushed past Narcissa, "Things have changed, and I will be taking him with me now." "What could have changed?! Do not take my son!" "Before you say such things, ask your husband what he has done." He had apparated outside of the Malfoy manor the moment he received and read his letter from Draco. Without realizing, he had walked right through the wards. Narcissa was happy to see that it was him who had breached her security system and had greeted him warmly until he spoke of taking his betrothed. Draco, who would be sixteen in a month's time, was to be left with his parents until he came of age at seventeen. After reading the blonds’ letter, Harry was no longer fond of that agreement. "Harry! Do not do this! Please explain to me what you speak of!" Harry, who would be seventeen in two months, on September first would be entering his 7th year at Hogwarts. How his blond love was in 7th year alongside him, has been and seems to be remaining a not yet discussed mystery. He was yanked from his enraged thoughts as he turned on the sharply featured woman. He could see the suppressed tears that would fall if not for her stats. "You really have no idea..." Harry stared at her in disbelief and decided she was innocent of this issue until she was fully informed and aware what had been done. And then, he would see the action she would take. If it was not in his favor, she would be held accountable right beside the filthy git by the name of Lucius Malfoy. "Where is he, Mrs.Malfoy?" "Draco is u-" "Your husband." "-u... he is taking care of business outside of the house." Her falter was nearly unnoticeable, and yet he caught it. Draco was blessed with the same gift for hiding things. So he was taking care of the snake? Harry made his way past her and up the grand staircase. "Harry!" "If you know what is good for you, you will not pass these stairs. I want to avoid hurting you, Mrs.Malfoy." He apparated the rest of the way, outside of his betrothed's door. Before he could knock on the door he heard the sobs and walked straight in instead. He could hear Draco gasp, and the blond sat up, wiping his grey eyes free of tears and turning to face the person who had intruded into his room. "H-Ha..." Draco's eyes watered and fresh tears spilled down his cheeks. "Harry!" His arms outstretched and he prepared for the impact, as Draco crashed against him. He hissed as he moved, and this did not slip past the raven. "Are you in pain?" He nodded and seemed to get a hold of himself and reign in his emotions. "I'm taking you back to Grimmauld Place-" "But-" "I know that is where the Order is and the last place I want you is near anyone with any hostility towards you. I don't want you in the vicinity of Dumbledore and his pawns but please, that is where I will be and I need you near me at all times. Okay?" The blond nodded his head. "Pack your things Draco; don't forget your school supplies. Pack everything you want, if that is everything you own, then so be it. It has to be done in twenty minutes okay?" He nodded again. Harry grasped each side of his head, pushing back the blond locks of hair and pressing their noses together. "Brilliant. I will be back within fifteen minutes and I will help you finish packing everything you didn't, I have to make some arrangements for you to apparate to the house." "Your room?" Harry chuckled shakily at the hopefulness of Draco's voice and the pleading that, if pointed out he would deny fully, that had settled in his eyes. "Yes love, my room." Kissing the side of his neck Harry placed the strongest locking charms he could think of in that moment before quickly apparating and leaving Draco to pack. --- END: ONE ***** Two ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. Enjoy!     Draco finished packing in ten minutes and waited quietly for his betrothed to return. Not much later, did his mother find the courage to ascend the stairs. Narcissa knocked on the door and his head buried further into the pillows. Only two more minutes, and Harry would return. Each time he shifted a pain shot through him. The knocking continued. He couldn’t hear his mother clearly through the wards, and the pounding in his ears. Draco was afraid he would come. Lucius had not been home when he awoke in his father’s chambers. He had been dressed and his mother woke him. He told her, when she asked, that he had been talking with his father and had fallen asleep. She did not question his lie. “Harry…” Draco’s eyes welled with tears again and he tried his best not to move his body as he wiped them away. Any second now, he would be safe, and free, with Harry. “Draco!” The hurried whisper startled him. Unlike the customary ‘pop!’ that accompanied apparations, Harry was silent. Draco started and immediately regretted his movement. A hiss escaped his rosy lips. Harry was by his side, kissing his lips and apologizing. “I’m sorry love; it’s time to leave now. Can you walk?” Draco nodded, allowing Harry to brush away a few stray tears as he stood. “I’m happy, Harry.” He whispered into the Gryffindor’s ear as they were taken, with his luggage to Grimmauld place. “Draco, open your eyes love.” The gentle whisper tickled his ear and he inhaled quickly. “Where are we?” “My room.” Draco finally allowed his eyes to open and settle on the lavishly furnished room around him. It was to his surprise that something so beautiful could reside in this place. “Harry?” “Yes?” He took in the draperies; a deep maroon, barely allowing the light to flow through the full length windows. Claw footed couches and a chair sat around a fire place, outlined in gold with maroon designs on a dark green background. The bedding was similar. Dark green, a green that more than slightly resembled Slytherin green, with maroon embroidery and a gold lining. The pillows were all deep maroon and dark green. “Is the room not to your liking?” He snapped from his visual dissection of the room. The wood, consisting of the fireplace, the wardrobe, the bed frame, the dressers, and the door leading into what he assumed was an adjoining bathroom, was all of the finest cherry oak. “No, it’s… marvelous.” Harry let a sigh escape his lips. “I was hoping you would like it.” He kept his distance, after Draco had pulled away to study his surroundings. He was aware that what had happened to his betrothed was not something to be taken lightly, and therefore would allow Draco to come to him. The blond did just that, feeling too far away from the raven. Draco brought their chests together and pulled Harry’s arms around his waist when he saw the Gryffindor had no intention of doing so on his own. He snuggled his pale face into the other’s neck and sighed against the lightly tanned skin. “Harry I’m sorry.” “What on earth could you be sorry for? You did nothing wrong.” “I wanted to save myself for you, Harry.” He lifted his head and looked into emerald green eyes. “Now I’m soiled.” “You aren’t soiled.” Harry made sure his voice was firm; he could not afford to lose him now. This would be the beginning of their lives together. “You were violated, and for that I am sorry. You are still my betrothed. Don’t forget that, Draco. Don’t ever let that fact slip from your mind. Understood? He felt weak, and yet he wasn’t ashamed to cry in from of Harry. Draco closed his eyes and allowed his self to be kissed and cuddled until the bedroom door burst open. “Harry! What the bloody hell are you doing?!” Ronald Weasley. -- END TWO ***** Three ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. It swirled violently around the room despite its controlled nature. The blond was very glad that he was not at the other end of this forthcoming wave of anger. Harry had never released his waist. He had turned so that they were both facing Ron, his left arm wrapped securely around the Slytherin prince. Ronald Weasley stood in the doorway staring in disbelief, horror, and hatred. His flaming face watched his bright red hair, Hermione was not far behind. Before the Weasley could unleash his fury, Hermione was beside him questioning an impatient Harry. “Harry! What is the meaning of this? Why if Malfoy here?!” Draco allowed himself to be submerged in his thoughts while Harry dealt with his two best friends. His surprise was not a product of the hate filled glares sent his way, nor the way in which Granger spewed his name as if it left a bad taste I her overused mouth. Draco didn’t even think his surprise was due to the fact that Harry’s best friends had no knowledge of their engagement. What had Draco stumped and on the verge of letting confusion cross his stoic face, was just how… justified they seemed. Standing there, uninvited in the middle of a grown man’s doorway, regardless if he is their best friend or not. Who were they to be questioning his private affairs- in his own house mind you? Granger and the Weasel… they really did have no shame. Either that or they had ne decency or any sense of common sense. Scratch that. They definitely did not have a single shred of common sense. “Harry, answer me!” Draco winced inside, not letting it show on the outside. Granger’s voice was so shrill. Draco turned to bury his face in Harry’s shoulder. He murmured quietly as the other two occupants of the room continued their demands for answers Harry would never be obligated to give. “Harry. Make them stop.” The blond knew it was a bit mean to egg on the already enraged Gryffindor, but if his proclaimed best friends could not sense that he was angered and about to blow, how could he be at fault for any bodily harm they suffered? After all, no matter the bond these three shared he would always be first in Harry’s heart. Draco felt no guilt at his selfishness, for Harry was also first in his. Oh, he almost missed the good part. Draco could feel his betrothed’s magic reach a level where it bore down on the room’s occupants like atmospheric pressure. It was suffocating, to Granger and the Weasel at least. Draco could feel smugness rising as Harry’s magic unconsciously made its way around him, without harming him. In his mind he was giggling and squealing like a little piglet running from a farmer, and damn happy not to be caught. (…Don't ask me where that came from… -_-) This pressure seemed to finally catch their attention. Both were struggling to remain standing, Draco allowed a few tears to escape for good measure. The magic in the room intensified and both of the uninvited guests fell to their knees. “H-H-" Draco was rolling on the ground in his mind, laughing. Loving Harry forced him to tolerate his friends, no be kind to them and not get them into trouble. Insert sticking out tongue. “-arry!” The raven reigned in his magic. “Get the hell out. We’ll talk about this later.” He turned and walked the blond over to the bed and Draco lay down. That conversation had obviously been terminated and yet they weren’t disappearing. “Harry James Potter! We need t-“ Hermione just wouldn’t shut up, with a lazy wave of his hand the two were out of here door and the door was closed, the wards on his room activated. “I’m sorry love, I’ll take care of them once I’m done tending to your needs.” Then he proceeded to trail kisses down the pale collarbone while filling the blond in on everything he needed to know. “I live here with Remus, Fred, and George. Kreecher, my old house elf is dead so I have asked Dobby to return if only for you. I know an elf would make you more comfortable.” “Won’t Granger put up a fit, and her Weasel will follow in her shadow faithfully.” Draco moaned lightly swatting away the hand stroking his lightly defined abs. “She will be dealt with, don’t stress love.” “Alright.” “Since its summer, Molly and Arthur are also staying here. Ginny and Ron tagged along, Hermione felt obliged to come also. Kingsley, Dumbledore and Snape come and go. At least I have made some adjustments, forcing them to give me pre warning before they come.” “Brilliant, love. Why does Uncle Severus come?” Harry chuckled a bit. Leaning his head down to place butterfly kisses on the sensitive abdomen. “Well, he and Remus fancy each other. I never expected it myself…” The Slytherin Prince arched his back when a curious tongue dipped into his navel. Draco pushed his head away. “Stop, Harry.” Worried emerald eyes rose to smoky grey eyes. “Are you alright?” “I’m fine. I’ve had enough for now, so please stop.” Harry gave him a devilish grin, “Of course.” He sat up and leaned against the blonds shoulder. “Take a nap Draco, rest. You need it.” Draco was handed a pain potion form the bedside drawer. Harry stroked his hair as he lay on the pillow beside him. “What about the rest of what I’ll know?” “Don’t worry Draco.” The blond began to slip into sleep. “Everything else is just part of routine. You’ll get the hang of it and I will be here with you hopefully the entire time. I never know if I will be pulled away by that old manipulative coop.” “M’kay…” “I just don’t want you to be startled by anyone here. Anyone who so much as glances at you with hostility…” “I love you, Harry…” Draco snuggled closer to the Gryffindor; Harry wandlessly willed the covers to be pulled over them. “And I you, my love.” -- END THREE ***** Four ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. Enjoy!     Draco awoke to the marvelous feeling of his betrothed wrapped around him, warmth radiating from his being. He buried his face into Harry’s chest and tried to fall back into unconsciousness, the chest on which he lay vibrated with laughter. “Draco, wake up. It’s almost eleven.” “I don’t want to wake up.” Pulling Draco’s face up, he kissed the pouty lips. “Up, now. I want you to eat something; Mrs. Weasley is cooking breakfast now.” Draco sat up and untangled his limbs from the sheets and Harry. “I’ll get up, but I will not eat that woman’s poison.” Harry stood and followed Draco as he made his way to the bathroom; the blond was pleased to see that his toiletries were already stored. The bathroom was decorated with the same theme as the main bedroom. Maroon, gold, and green blended beautifully from the rugs, to the curtains. The blond took in the golden, sunken in tub and the glass shower that seemed large enough to fit at least four to five people. The sink was in fact a double sink, both made out of gold with a large mirror, framed in the same jade green, sitting in front of them. Each sink had its own towel rack stocked with maroon towels and green wash cloths, drawers, medicine cabinets on the wall, and bottom cabinets beneath the drawers. Draco picked up his toothbrush. “Draco, her food isn’t bad at all. I swear, please just-” The blond turned on the tap and turned to the raven, “I don’t trust just anyone with my food Harry. I will allow Dobby to prepare my food. I prefer to have elves that serve me and only me, but I trust you will not allow your elf to poison me.” Turning back to the sink, he proceeded to brush his teeth, the raven following suit in the other sink. After a small quarrel, a blushing Draco finally forced Harry out of the bathroom so he could shower. Said raven sulked until the beautiful blond exited and allowed him his own turn. While Harry did his business Draco stood before a full length mirror beside the dresser, adjusting his clothing for the day. Once Harry had turned on the water he felt it safe to shed his robe and get dressed. Draco had slipped into a pair of black skinny jeans, as muggles referred to them. The only thing that interested him was the way they accentuated his arse. Aside from the fact that only Harry was allowed to touch him, he could always tease the hopeless. His upper body was clad in a dark red long sleeved shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows. Admiring himself, Draco didn’t see Harry exit the bathroom. The pale blond turned and forgot to breath. Harry relished the look of shock on the face of his betrothed until he realized the other’s predicament. “Draco, breathe Draco.” Having a muscular chest, dripping with water right in front of him didn’t help the problem. “Draco!” Said male’s head snapped up and he crushed his lips against Harry’s. The initial shock faded within two seconds, Draco was pushed against the dresser. Harry lifted him and the jean clad legs wrapped around his waist, covered by a maroon towel. “Harry! Mate, mum is waiting for you!” “Shit.” Harry sighed, pulling his lips away to peck the pale cheek. Draco fought to catch his breath as Harry let him down. Harry was dressed with a snap of his fingers, blue jeans and a grey hoodie. “Shall we?” Draco nodded his consent, taking the raven’s outstretched hand. As they left the room and began walking down the halls of the old house, Draco began to notice how clean the house looked despite its age. Before he could examine his surrounding closely Harry began to speak. “I have already contacted Dobby, he was eager to become my, well I should say our house elf. Just call for him and let him know what you’d like for breakfast.” They seemed to be nearing the kitchen if the noise and strong smell of food was any indication. “I understand. Thank you Harry.” Draco stopped short of actually entering. “Is something the matter, love?” He fidgeted and immediately forced himself to stop once he realized his body betraying his nervousness. “Who; exactly, is in there?” Harry cocked an eyebrow releasing Draco’s hand and cupping his face gently, bringing their lips together in a chaste kiss. “Do not worry about a thing. Draco, relax, okay? I’m here to protect you. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you in the first place but I will protect you now.” The blond nodded, with that confirmation Harry spoke again. “Fred and George live here of course; Molly, Arthur, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione are here for the summer. Remus is also here, and as far as I know Snape was not here before but he may be now.” Draco listened carefully. “They all hate me, Harry. I want to take breakfast in your room.” “Draco, please. Don’t run away-” “I am not running away!” Draco’s voice cracked. He knew he was running, Harry didn’t release his face and leant forward to capture his lips again. “They need to know you’re here anyway. I am sure they are already aware since Ron and ‘Mione probably told them everything. They will accept that you are my guest, my betrothed, and my fiancé. It honestly doesn’t matter, this is my home.” After a few more comforting kisses Draco allowed himself to be led into the kitchen. Everyone was eating and the talking ceased as they entered the kitchen. Although he would never admit to such a thing, Draco tried his best to hide behind Harry. “Good morning everyone.” “Morning-” “-Harry! You have a guest-” “-Now do you?” Fred and George helped to break the ice that ad settled over the room. “Yes, Draco will be living here.” Hermione glared, Ron was between pissed and dumbfounded, Ginny was just as red as her brother and her eyes were trained on their intertwined hands. Arthur was quiet for a moment before standing to shake Draco’s hand. “Well, welcome Mr. Malfoy.” He smiled and Harry beamed at him. Draco shook his head timidly murmuring a quiet thank you. Remus wasn’t there after all, Harry noticed. He was distracted as Mrs. Weasley began to fuss over them both. “Well don’t just stand there, dears. Sit, sit! Eat!” Harry did just that taking the head seat of the long table. After cleaning the entire House of Black, he felt the need to have a proper dining room. The long glass table was made to seat at least thirty people originally, but was shrunk and elongated depending on the amount of people expected to be eating. As Harry took his seat at the head Draco was at a loss of where to sit. Ginny had always occupied the seat to the right and whoever pleased would occupy the seat to the left. “What’s wrong, Draco?” Harry wondered why he had not taken his seat to his left. “She’s sitting in my seat, Harry.” Draco’s grey eyes were trained on Ginny and Harry looked to the blond for elaboration. “It’s simple table etiquette. The lord of the house takes the seat of the head, and the spouse takes the seat to his right. The little Weasley is sitting in my seat.” The youngest Weasley seemed to have been engulfed in flames. Harry paid her no mind. “What the devil is he talking about, spouse? Harry?” There she went again, Granger demanding answers. However Harry thought this was no better a time to tell them all. “If you must know every detail of my life, Draco is my betrothed, my fiancé.” The blond stood his ground as the weaslette glared at him while shock spread over her face. Never had he seen this smart mouthed little girl silenced, and he reveled in it. There was uproar and Harry quickly silenced it, raising his hand sharply. “Not now.” Ron spoke up. “Then when, Harry? When exactly do you think you can find the time to tell us when the bloody hell this happened, and why you kept it from us?!” “I will tell you when I am damn well ready to Ron! I do not have to answer to you!” “What makes you think you can keep secrets from us Harry!” Draco could see his betrothed had had enough and moved to comfort him when Harry stood up sharply, slamming his hand down and cracking the glass beneath. “The last time I checked my mother was dead so do NOT try to be her!” His eyes were filled with rage, Draco placed a hand on his arm and Harry looked to his side where the blond stood. “It’s alright Harry. They will learn to mind their manners, until then don’t stress yourself over fools.” He threw a glare at the mud blood and her blindly following pet. “Why you slimy-” “Ronald! Watch your language!” Mrs.Weasley interjected. Then her husband spoke up. “You must realize that you are no longer children. Harry will be coming of age sooner than we all may think. He has titles to live up to, and you must learn to respect him. Whether it be his title or simply respect that you two are not his parents and he if fully capable of caring for himself. You will give him the respect that he gives you.” Draco looked at Arthur Weasley in a different light, never knowing such wisdom could come from the man his father had belittled for so long. Although, as of late Draco had not been seeing eye to eye with the man he once idolized. Granger and the Weasel we silent. “Ginny move.” She opened her mouth to protest. “But dad! I-” “Your father will not repeat himself young lady! You will move this instance!” Molly Weasley left no room for any remarks for her to try and throw a tantrum so she could get her way. Ginny moved and Draco gracefully took his seat. Ignoring the food before him he called for Dobby to prepare his breakfast personally. -- END FOUR ***** Five ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. Draco was given a list of books, and way too much money. Harry told him to knock himself out, and then promptly gave him to Fred and George who hauled him out of the house. Harry Potter had always been a polite young man, even when in situations where the other party was absolutely rude to him. The fact that they were his best friends did not help in the least. Harry held his head in his hands as Hermione paced back and forth across his room floor. Ron stood in front of the dresser, leaning on it slightly. “When were you going to tell us about your engagement to that ferret?” “Hermione, you will watch the way you address him.” “Or what, Harry?” Before he could reply Ron stepped in, “Hermione, don’t. If anyone referred to you like that I’d be at their throats. They’re getting married for Merlin’s sake! Harry would kill you!” “Oh please Ronald! Harry won’t do a thing.” “Ron…” “I understand you weren’t raised by purebloods but you should know that yes he would kill you, and no, he would not be sent to Azkaban for it.” At this the bushy haired girl stopped, staring indignantly at Ron. “Well I never!” “Focus Hermione!” Harry yelled. She turned her head sharply, he jaw drawn tight, but she didn’t speak. Harry sighed, “I don’t have to tell you everything, and your reaction shows me that I was more than justified. Then that doesn’t even take into account that this is my bloody life!” “Harry, we are your friends! We care about you!” “I don’t need your care Hermione! I don’t need a mother! I just need support!” She looked as if she had been struck. Ron didn’t speak, he just sat there for a while. Five minutes, ten minutes of silence each of the three locked in their own thoughts. Hermione felt as if Harry had no right to keep such important parts of his life from them. She contemplated whether or not Dumbledore knew, and she quickly realized that that was not very likely. Hermione began to plot and plan, thinking of ways to free Harry from whatever spell or trap he had become victim to. Ron was surprised that his best mate hadn’t told him. The youngest Weasley boy could see why Harry hadn’t told Hermione, and then quickly realized that Harry hadn’t wanted Hermione to find out through him. Ron shook his head. Although he was more of a… what muggles call a jock, it didn’t mean his mind was hindered because of his muscle. Ron knew he focused the majority of his time on Quidditch and Hermione, but he could hold an intelligent conversation too. Hermione was so focused on treating him as if he were a cute, stupid pet. Ron yanked himself from his thoughts; this wasn’t the time to focus on his, in his opinion, failing relationship which was more like an owner and pet. His best mate needed his support and if his girlfriend wanted to be selfish, he knew he had to back Harry up. The silence began to eat at Ron, “Harry, mate. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m bloody pissed that you didn’t tell me but I want to hear what you have to say. What’s going on?” Harry looked at Ron as if he were and angel. The raven took a deep breath, ignoring Hermione’s hostile glares and proceeded to tell his best mate everything. “The engagement between Draco and I was formed and finalized a few years ago during our second year. I can’t give you too many details because I am not sure of the details myself. Honestly.” Ron nodded and Hermione huffed but remained silent. “For some reason, Narcissa came to me and offered a proposition. If I were to take Draco’s hand in marriage and ultimately save him from a future involving Voldemort then I would forever have support.” Ron interjected with a raised eyebrow, “Support from who Harry?” The raven ran a hand through his messy locks, “She never said, Ron. She just told me that I would have to trust her and that support would be guaranteed from those I could not even imagine.” “Did you talk to Dumbledore about this?” Hermione finally spoke, Harry pinned her with a hard look that demanded her loyalty. She knew not to open her mouth about this before he even spoke. “I was advised not to tell Dumbledore anything, and I trust her so neither of you will breath a word of this if you want our friendship to continue and for you to go unharmed. I am not above keeping you silent by force. Do you understand Hermione?” She swallowed and nodded, adverting her gaze, Harry continued on. “Thank you, I don’t want to threaten you but Dumbledore has proved to be… not what I thought he was. I am still not sure where your loyalties lie. No offense.” “My loyalties will always be with you, first and foremost, Harry.” Harry grinned, his emerald eyes shining with happiness, “Thanks mate.” Hermione didn’t speak, but nodded her head for him to continue on. “Anyway, she told me everything that would become Draco’s life. What would happen to him if he received the Dark Mark and became a Death Eater.” Harry could feel the tears prickling behind his eyes and he willed them not to fall. “I pitied him, I didn’t want that fate for anyone not even Draco. For someone to be a toy until the day they died or were killed… he was going to be Voldemort’s sex toy and I wouldn’t put it past that monster to pass him around to the other Death Eater’s too…” Harry noticed but ignored their flinch at Voldemort’s name. The air was thick in silence. Ron looked at Harry with sadness, but not pitying him because he knew his friend would not accept pity from anyone. Hermione faltered before finally walking forward and pulling the raven into a hug. Once they parted, Hermione sat beside him on the bed and Ron sat on the other side of his friend. “Well, mate. I can understand why you wouldn’t tell us or anyone. You wanted to protect him.” “I used to pity him but then… we would spend time together whenever we could so we could get used to each other. Then we would sneak off together because we actually wanted to spend time with one another. I love him.” “I know you do mate, and if you love him then I don’t see a reason to hate him anymore. Right ‘Mione?” The brunette didn’t speak at first but Ron pinned her with a look. She sighed heavily. “I can try to treat him better than I do, if you love him that is… then hating him isn’t necessary. But do not expect me to change my opinions over night!” Harry chuckled and threw one arm around her neck, “Thanks for the effort.” “Hmph.” She tried not to smile. “I also wanted to talk to you about keeping Dobby as a house elf-“ “I figured you would. But remember Dobby is more of a friend to me and is doing me a favor by being Draco’s elf. Until he feels safe and trusts everyone here, he will have everything personally prepared by Dobby, I hope your mum isn’t offended Ron.” “I’ll explain it to mum later, no problem.” “Thanks mate.” Hermione opened her mouth to argue but was left in a bitter silence when there was knock on the door. Harry smiled widely, feeling Draco’s energy. “Come in, love.” Draco walked in, laden with bags and Harry stood to help him. “Why didn’t you shrink them?” “I did, there are more bags.” Harry smiled gently at him. He had a feeling that shopping would lighten the blonds’ mood. Ron stood and Hermione followed. “Well, see you later mate. Bye Mal- Draco.” The blond looked up with an innocently surprised look on his face. Hermione nodded but otherwise didn’t say anything and left the room. The red head offered a smile and Draco returned it softly. Ron left, thinking how cute the blond was clinging to his best mate. -- END FIVE ***** Six ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. Enjoy!   A month later, August – The day before Draco’s birthday   Harry ran a hand through messy raven locks; tension was running high as he tried to perfect his preparations for a certain blonds’ birthday. His mind was racing and his entire body refused to relax. Would Draco like his present? Would his gift be good enough? Would everything go according to plan? He knew it would be the best birthday his betrothed had ever had, Harry would ensure it. Ron and Hermione had already departed to Diagon Alley to grab the last of what was needed. Everything had gone off without a hitch so far, he would ensure that this was the perfect day for his betrothed. The raven was startled by a loud popping noise behind him but he relaxed and allowed his magic to settle as he realized it was only Dobby. Harry let out a shaky laugh, forcing his body to release some of its tension. "Dobby, don't scare me like that." The small elf looked as if he were on the verge of tears, "Oh, dear... Mr. Harry Potter sir! Dobby is terribly sorry for disturbing you." "No, no Dobby its fine. It’s not your fault. Do you have any news for me?" Harry banished the items from the dresser top and moved to sit down on the large bed in his and Draco's bedroom. The elf nodded eagerly, his eyes twinkling in delight. "Yes, young master Draco is still occupied, sir. He seems to be distracted and it is safest to move everything now, master." A grin nearly split his face in two and he could barely contain himself at this news. Everything was going perfectly. Everything was bloody brilliant in fact! Harry never would have picked his love as one to fall so easily for muggle video games. Harry knew how addictive such game consoles could be but he never thought Draco Malfoy of all people would be intrigued by such things. Apparently, he had taken a fondness to The Godfather. Harry made quick work over moving, arranging and setting everything into its place. Hermione and Ron would be returning shortly and the guests would be arriving in about and hour or less. Leaving Dobby and his elf friends to finish the rest of the preparations and to lay out the food, he emerged from the replacing the powerful wards meant to keep Draco away. If the blond were to walk anywhere near the room he would remember something he had to do and be deterred from the preparations. Speaking of said blond, he moved towards the living room where the Play station and XBOX were set up for Draco’s enjoyment. Harry had completely splurged on games to keep Draco occupied. Moving behind the platinum blond he wrapped his arms around his neck. Draco was slightly startled but didn't miss a beat in his game. "You’re still playing The Godfather?" "Yes, it’s very interesting, the Italian Mafia that is. Where have you disappeared to Harry?" "Nowhere for you to be concerned about. Just enjoy your birthday present, love." "I am enjoying it. There are so many games for different systems that I still haven't even played yet!" Harry chuckled, glad he liked the games, and even happier that he would indeed remain preoccupied for some time. Harry pressed the start button on the controller and quickly turned Draco's face so that he could kiss him deeply. "Mmmm....." Harry wrapped his hand firmly around his lovers’ neck, his fingers digging into the hair at the nape of his neck. The need for air finally forced the raven to release Draco and he pressed their foreheads together. "I love you." "I love you too Harry." -- END SIX ***** Seven ***** My life is sorted so i'm back with more. The last of everything was set into place and Draco was sent upstairs to change with the illusion of a quiet birthday dinner at a fine restaurant. Harry continuously wrung his hand with nervousness. He couldn’t keep still and was constantly checking, and rechecking everything. The party was ready to begin. All of the guests, Draco’s friends milled around the room mingling, everyone awaiting the birthday boy. “What is taking him so long?” Harry whined, wanting nothing more than to drag the blond down the stairs so that he could stop feeling so self-conscious. Ron laid a hand on his shoulder, “Don’t rush him mate. It’s the same with girls, they take forever getting ready. But it’ll be worth it in the end.” As Harry paced the floor impatiently he finally began to feel his betrothed’s magic pulling on his own. Their magic mingled and tingled and he knew that Draco would find his way to this room. The wards were removed and he yelled through the large room, “Places!” The room gurgled with excitement and everyone moved into position to surprise Draco. They all became silent, the lights turned out as Draco’s curious magic intertwined with Harry’s as he opened the door. Finally, the moment had come. Harry couldn’t breathe, the oxygen he meant to inhale caught in his throat. He couldn’t look; he couldn’t see the face of his love twisted in hatred. Even if he knew it was illogical to think so, he could not help but let these thoughts run through his racing mind. Then all of the negativity melted away. All of his worries and troubles seemed to literally melt away from him. The weight sitting, large and heavy on his shoulders was lifted when he saw that surprised expression on Draco’s beautiful face light up into a brilliant smile. “Surprise!” All at once everyone moved forward to greet the birthday boy. The lights flashed on, the music began thumping throughout the room. Harry stood back; catching his breath after that smile had stolen it away. Draco’s heart skipped a beat; he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The majority of those walking up to him and wishing him a happy birthday were his Slytherin housemates, but even a few Gryffindors wished him well. Through the crowd he saw that Hufflepuff’s and Ravenclaw’s were strewn across the room. Then he was suddenly engulfed in a bone crushing hug. “Happy birthday, princess.” Although his face caught on fire at the name, he accepted Ron’s hug. The redhead leant down to whisper into his ear, “Harry said to enjoy the party, and he’ll see you in a bit.” With a nod of slight disappointment he plastered a smile on his face and roamed the room, entertaining guests. :BREAK: The party had been going on for nearly two hours. Draco sighed as he glanced around the room, sipping butter beer. His face showed what he felt, a deep, soothing relaxation. Draco had mingled with everyone, no matter their house. The guests were getting long much better than he’d have expected. Harry must have worked a miracle because even the Slytherin’s were being civil to those outside of their house. It seemed as though all the prejudices of Hogwarts were nonexistent. The invisible walls that separated everyone from each other had fallen, and all it took was removing Hogwarts from the equation. Draco sighed, pushing his fingers through his hair which, instead f being slicked back with gel, hung freely. His eyes searched around the room, wandering over the faces, bodies, shapes and expressions of all of the guests. Pansy and Blaise, as his best friends, were there of course. It had been so long since he had seen them. Ever since the last school year ended they had not been in touch. Lucius had kept him away from outsiders, only allowing him to come into contact with his mother, the house elves, a few death eaters, and any other guests that his father had at the house. Draco tried to avoid many of the people who had come to the manor, the wandering eyes and hands always unnerved him. Draco shook his head, clearing his thoughts and trying to focus on happier memories, like the ones he was making now. Draco’s mind began to wander once more as he observed the interaction around him. Hermione and Ron had disappeared a few minutes ago to restock the drink supply. Pansy had dragged Blaise off to introduce him to a shy 5th year Hufflepuff. Even though Blaise had always been known for his fast ways Draco still smiled as he watched Blaise take the hand of the Hufflepuff and pull him gently to the refreshment table and handed him some pumpkin juice. His mind was so wrapped up in his friend that he didn’t notice the figure standing so close behind him. Grey eyes were still fixated on someone he had known for years and yet didn’t quite know anymore. It seemed as though his best friend had truly changed, rather than trying to get the poor boy drunk he simply talked to him and kept him away from the liquor. He had spotted Pansy awhile back talking to a certain Gryffindor that he recognized. He jumped nearly five feet into the air when arms snaked their way around his waist, a pair of lips tugging gently at his earlobe. “A..ah… Harry?” he received no answer but he didn’t need an answer with the way that their magic seemed to be magnetic towards one another. “Harry…” “You look ravishing.” His breath caught in his throat as a slick tongue traced the shell of his ear, the arms tightened around his waist and began to pull him backwards. Draco had no idea how no one noticed that he was being tugged back and, Merlin, did they just walk through a wall? Draco had no time to think anymore, all he could do was feel. The strange sensation of Harry’s magic enveloping him as he was taken through the wall as though they were apparitions or ghosts. The sinful pleasure curling in the pit of his stomach as that tongue continued to trace over his ear, before traveling down to his neck and tracing patterns in a maddeningly slow manner. Suddenly their bodies became solid again as Harry twirled him around and pressed him against the very wall through which they had passed. His hands held Draco’s waist, meshing their lower bodies together and trying to make them one. Draco moaned into his mouth trying to turn his head away and breath. Once he freed his lips of Harry’s, the raven placed both hands on the sides of the blonds’ face not allowing him to escape. Although it was a bit overwhelming at first Draco had missed his betrothed. Throwing caution to the wind he wrapped his arms around Harry’s neck murmuring through the heated kisses. “Up.” Without complaint Harry lifted him from the floor, Draco circling his legs around the other’s waist. --- END: SEVEN ***** Eight ***** This plot is my own creation. Enjoy! -- How could this have happened? How could he have known? Lucius Malfoy paced back and forth, wearing down the carpeted floor of his study. The room had been of no comfort to him since he entered it upon arriving at the manor. When he came to the front gates and could feel that the wards had been disabled he began to panic, thinking that the Ministry had finally acquired solid proof and not just accusations of his treachery against the wizarding world. Cursing beneath his breath his stoic face fell when he found that his home had not been ransacked, searched, or his wife taken into custody. He would have preferred that he be forced to free his wife and son from prison than face the reality of the events that had taken place in his absence. Calling out to Narcissa, he ascended the stairs of the quiet and lifeless manor that he rarely referred to as a home. There had never been much love or warmth in this place after Draco’s sixth birthday when he was told that his son would be groomed to serve the Dark Lord in ways Lucius hated to imagine. Even then, when the joy had been sucked from his life as though through a black hole, there had still been life within these walls, life that he could no longer feel. As he came to the first landing he searched the halls, finding nothing out of place, and continued to the second landing. As he passed the doors, nearing his and his wife’s chambers he could feel the excitement at the memories he had had there. The fondest of those memories did not include Narcissa, however. Thinking of his beautiful Draco he turned around immediately and proceeded to the third floor landing and towards his room door. Down, near the end of the extravagant hall he could hear the echoes of a damsel who hadn’t seemed as such in so many years. The woman whom he had married, who had always been immaculate in maintaining he appearance and presenting herself accordingly was sprawled across the floor, he upper body meshed against the door of his son. “Draco?” The name fell from his lips as he cautiously made his way towards the woman on the floor. Narcissa was a mess. Her hair was mattered, her eyes red rimmed and blackened underneath by her running eye make-up, disrupted by the seemingly endless river of tears flowing down her beautiful face. He knelt beside her and placed a hand on her shaking shoulder. She was in hysterics. Although his first thought was to rush into the room and make sure that his pride and joy was alright, he had to play the part of the concerned husband first. His words were calculated but laced with a forced sense of caring, “Narcissa, darling. What has happened?” She turned her haunted eyes on him and if not for his status he would have recoiled in the sheer emotion emanating from them. “You dare to ask me such a thing Lucius? What has happened? Draco is gone! That is what has happened!” “Draco? Gone? What are you on about?” She mustered up enough strength to lift herself from the door and into a slumped sitting position. “He came. He took him away.” “He? Who is he?” “Harry Potter! He has come and taken our son as his betrothed!” Lucius began to panic. Potter had taken him? If Draco had been taken from their home before the agreed date then could that mean that Harry had been informed of what was happening? Of what was to be done? Lucius loved his son. He loved him more than a father should, and he has expressed that forbidden love in ways that a father should not. Draco was to be given to the Dark Lord on the day of his coming of age. There had been a plan devised in order to keep Draco under the best protection. Harry Potter would be made to agree to a false betrothal in order to keep Draco safe until the time when he would actually be given over to the Dark Lord. Lucius had always feared that perhaps the Dark Lord would notice. That he would see the things that had been done to the young Malfoy heir. Lucius’ main concern was to keep a secret what he had been doing Draco, behind closed doors when Narcissa was away or Draco was called to be punished for things he had not done. If he could love his son for these years, until he was forced to relinquish him, then he would be satisfied. But if Harry Potter had discovered Draco’s fate, then w hat would become of them all? Potter had taken what he assumed to betrothed, but was really the slave-to-be of the Dark Lord. What was he to do? Lucius unconsciously reached out to his wife to stroke her hair, but was yanked from his thoughts as a sharp pain stung his hand. “What have you done Lucius?” The whisper was harsh and accusing. What did they know? How much did they know? Had Draco told her- no. He had been trained to hold that secret and take it with him to his grave. Lucius Malfoy did not know what was and wasn’t known. He did not speak. Narcissa knew of the plans for Draco to serve the Dark lord. Then what was she accusing him of? Was Harry Potter aware of the deal to give Draco over to the Dark Lord? Yes, he could be sure that Narcissa had informed him of the plan but not of the fact that he was simply being used and that they would be giving Draco to their Lord anyway once he had become of age. Was Harry Potter aware that they were to give Draco away? Was Potter aware of the things that had been done to his ‘betrothed’ in the place that was rarely called home? Or did he know everything? Lucius Malfoy could not be sure. So continued, did he, pacing in his study and wearing down the carpeted floor with his worries and concerns gnawing at his insides. ---- END EIGHT ***** Nine ***** This plot is my own creation. Enjoy! Author’s note: This chapter has been edited because I felt that it was missing something, so now it is completely finished with a bit more added on! Enjoy! Looking upon the pale face in admiration, he leant and placed a feather light kiss on the flawless cheek. The night they had spent together was amazing. More amazing than Harry could have ever dreamed of. The night had definitely come to an end sooner than he would have liked, but his betrothed could only go so far before he became uncomfortable with the course that things were taking. Though they had not had sex Harry could still feel the strong connection between them. Even though he had yet to join their bodies in the final merging of their very beings, he was not at all disappointed with the way the evening went on. Draco’s sixteenth birthday party had gone off without a hitch. His beautiful love had enjoyed himself to the fullest, mingling with his Slytherin friends and even coming to befriend those of other houses. It made him smile, the thought of Draco in such a state of openness and serenity. Soon, he could feel it. Draco would be completely healthy again. Not just physically but mentally also. Harry would heal him any way he could. Draco began to stir and Harry pulled the blond closer by his waist. “Wake up, love.” “Mmm… Harry? What’s going on?” He chuckled, stroking the pale cheek gently with his fingers. “Good morning. Nothing has happened yet, I’m still waiting for you to wake up.” “I don’t want to wake up…” “I know love, but you need to. For me, please.” Draco yawned, squeaking when his sides were assaulted. “Stop it! I’m awake! I’m awake!” He squealed and giggled until Harry’s tickling relented. “How about a shower?” “I am not a bloody girl.” Draco muttered half-heartedly, trying to hide his contentment as Harry stroked his side lightly. “I am very aware of your male anatomy.” The hand stroking Draco’s side moved to his crotch and grasped his morning wood firmly. “Mmm… H-Harry…” The blond squirmed and broke free of the loose hold. He could feel Harry’s disappointment radiating from him in waves. He looked down at his hands, wringing them as he sat on the edge of the bed. He looked back at Harry, head in his hands. “I’m sorry, Harry.” “There’s no reason for you to be sorry. I shouldn’t have touched you that way, you weren’t ready.” “I should be ready Harry! I want to be ready… I just… I don’t know. It’s not you that scares me, it’s…” Harry wrapped his arms around Draco’s waist and buried his in the crook of the pale neck, inhaling Draco’s amazingly unique scent. “You don’t have to explain yourself. I just want you to be comfortable when I finally am able to make love to you.” He stroked the blonds’ stomach, “The day that I can touch you…” Draco flinched and whimpered, “…and you won’t shy away from my touch before you realize it’s me. When you won’t whimper and tears won’t gather in your eyes because of the bad memories…” Harry lifted his head and licked at the tears he knew were trailing down his fiancé’s cheeks before he saw them. “I love you Draco. More than you will ever know, unless you open your heart to me. Open your body to me, and share your soul with me. Then you can begin to comprehend just how much I love you…” “Harry…” He could feel it, Harry’s magic vibrating through his body. Touching every nerve of his being, he could barely breathe. Draco began to pant. “Harry… please…” The feeling, that feeling… that indescribable feeling that he couldn’t identify; the feeling was so beautiful, so intense… and it was tearing him apart. “Harry!” He threw his head back in ecstasy that he didn’t even notice building. The room was silent, Draco was crying and Harry, panting. Harry released Draco, helping him to lie back on the bed. He stood to his feet and began to undress, the grey eyes following his every movement. Harry saw the worry lying there, beneath the very fragile trust that Draco was trying to hold on to. “Don’t panic, I’m not going to hurt you.” “I know”, Draco whispered. “Then why are you shaking?” “My body is on fire, Harry.” Once Harry had removed the last piece of his clothing, he stepped forward and began to undress his betrothed. Once Draco was undressed he retreated to the bathroom and began to draw a bath, he returned for Draco. One arm moved to the small of Draco’s back and the other hooked under his knees, lifting him and taking him into the bathroom. Draco didn’t speak, his arms wrapped around the Gryffindors’ neck as Harry lowered them both into the steaming water. His face was aflame with his embarrassment at coming to an orgasm without Harry even touching him. What would it be like to actually have his hands on him? Averting his thoughts as visions of his father clouded his genuine curiosity of his betrothed’s pleasuring abilities. “Is the water okay?” Harry asked, running a hand over Draco’s back. The blond shivered. “I fixed it”, he muttered. “Did you use wand-less magic, Draco?” “I only know simple spells…” The air became thick with awkwardness; neither of them spoke as Harry began to bathe them both. “There’s nothing wrong with it Draco, knowing wand-less magic.” The blond faltered, “It isn’t the fact that I know wand-less magic that makes me uncomfortable…” Harry paused in washing Draco’s back, “What then?” Draco released a shuddered breath, “It’s the way that I learned, Harry…” Their magic was so deeply connected that Harry could feel his tears before Draco knew he was about to cry. “Draco, love, you don’t have to tell me anything. Not now, just relax okay?” “But I want to tell you…” “You don’t need this right now and we will have until the end of our days together for you to tell me everything.” Draco turned in the arms of his betrothed and wrapped his arms around the other man’s neck. “I love you Harry.” “I love you too Draco, so much!” The blonde giggled and settled into Harry’s embrace, his arms now wrapped firmly around his waist. “Okay, let’s finish up before we become prunes.” -Downstairs- “Ronald Weasley! What in Merlin’s name do you think you are doing?” Ron looked up at the bushy haired brunette with a mouth full of food, “What’s it look like?” “It looks like you are devouring everything within arm’s reach before anyone else can even get out of their beds much less make it down to breakfast before you inhale it all!” The redhead swallowed thickly all of the food in his mouth; his eyes looked at her before looking through her. He watched as she visibly shivered at his indifferent gaze. Hermione huffed indignantly and stomped away to sit beside Ginny at the breakfast table. Ron turned back to his plate and continued eating, albeit more slowly than before. Hermione, the girl he thought he loved. The woman he thought to be his soul mate; the woman he had planned to marry once upon a time. But the fairytale was over now, and he could see that they had begun to drift apart. At first he had thought that since Hermione had not mentioned anything that maybe he was simply imagining it all. After closely observing their interactions with one another he had learned otherwise. For some reason he felt that she was… keeping him. Not staying with him because she still felt the love that she had claimed to feel, if she ever really felt any love for him at all. It seemed as though she were obligated to continue this charade of being in a loving relationship with him. The thought had crossed his mind more than once to end things between them, their friendship be damned, but curiosity held him there. What exactly did Hermione Granger gain from staying with him in what was obviously a failed attempt at a relationship? The girl was far too intelligent to simply let things stand as they were without either breaking it off or trying to solve the problem, unless her attention was elsewhere… As his best friend and his betrothed walked into the room, greeting everyone, he grinned at them. He would dwell on those things later, for now he would simply smile. Once breakfast came to an end he would give Hermione the apology that she expected and he would continue this charade. Ron Weasley would continue to be her block headed boyfriend who didn’t suspect a thing. After all, two could play this game, but were there more than two players? -- END NINE ***** Ten ***** This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. Here is the next chapter!   Her pants were shallow and she gasped for breath trying to stay as coherent as she could. Her efforts were futile as her moans became wanton, her body pushing against the other trying to get more of the delicious feeling that had begun to build steadily within her being. “P- Please, m-more ugh! Merlin! Deeper! Oh Merlin, please go d-deeper!” “As you wish my dear” Hermione screamed in ecstasy, her entire being trembling as she tried to remain on her hands and knees but fell onto her belly on the dark colored carpet beneath her. “I take it you enjoyed yourself?” “Oh yes, always. That was…” Her breathing was erratic and she could feel her lungs burning in desperate need for water. “That was spectacular.” The man above her smiled in pleasure gained from the feel of her supple flesh still wrapped around his shaft. Pulling himself free of the young woman he kissed her neck and whispered her new orders in her ear. “Of course, I understand.” “I knew you would, until next time.” He vanished. Hermione turned over onto her back, and stared up at the ceiling. She had never meant for things to come to this but this is the way things had to be. There was no other choice. It was all for the greater good, and if she happened to get amazing sex out of it then who was she to question such a wonderful bonus? She grinned secretly to herself, finally having regained enough of her energy to redress and make her departure. She would have to return to the Burrow before anyone could question her whereabouts, more specifically, Ron. -The Burrow- Ginny Weasley was not entirely sure why she was awake at such an hour. The entire house was still asleep and she could hear nothing more than the ticking of the old clock in their living room. The old house was cold and she shivered slightly, thankful that she was wearing her knee high socks with her night dress. Pushing a lock of her hair behind her ear she took a hesitant step towards a bookshelf in the far corner of the living room. With a grim smile she looked over the yellowing pictures of the past. They were taken over the years when she was just a little girl, when she was going through her awkward stage, her first year leaving for Hogwarts. It hadn’t been very long, she realized, since she had her run in with Tom Riddle and the cursed diary. She had continued to grow physically but there was something… a part of her that didn’t fell fulfilled. Like her life up to now wasn’t of any importance. The realization stung like the tears behind her eyelids as she squeezed her eyes shut and tried not to cry. If she were to die right now, she would have accomplished nothing. Ginny turned away from the pictures sharply and placed a hand over her mouth, stifling a distressed moan and tried her best not to let her tears fall. It was futile, and the hardwood floor soaked up the evidence of her weakness. With a shuddered breath she vowed to be someone. She vowed to be someone who would be remembered like her first love… her brother Harry. Slowly she had begun to think of him as a brother once it had been made clear whom his heart belonged to. Though it was a bitter taste, the admittance of defeat, she would not be overwhelmed by that bitterness. Amidst her revelations a sound caught her attention. Ginny’s breath caught in her throat, the front door was creaking open slowly. Moving as quietly as she could, she made her way towards the sound wishing she had her wand. Her footsteps were light and her breathing steadied as she waited for the intruder to push the door completely open and enter. She was a bit skeptical about the situation; a death eater would not be so silent or so careful, so this didn’t seem to be a raid. As a cloaked figure came through the doorway Ginny licked her lips nervously and her mind reeled with all of the possibilities as fear crept through her very pores and she began to perspire. The cloaked figure carefully closed the door and removed their hood. In the pale moonlight Ginny could just barely make out Hermione who jumped at seeing the only Weasley girl standing before her. Ginny’s eyes narrowed in suspicion at the brunette with a hand held tightly over her chest as though she had been frightened. “Ginny! You startled me! What are you doing awake at this hour?” “The question is what are you doing sneaking in at this hour?” Hermione’s heart rate picked up as she quickly thought of something that would satisfy Ginny’s scrutiny and end this conversation as fast as possible with as little specifics as possible. “W-well I couldn’t sleep so I thought I would take a walk, the full moon really is beautiful tonight. I w-would have woken Ron but you know how cranky he gets!” Ginny’s eyes narrowed as Hermione laughed nervously. Crossing her arms across her chest she was about to throw another round of questions at the brunette but the clever girl yawned and rushed upstairs, stuttering out how tired she was. Ginny stayed in that spot, arms folded across her barely developed chest and her brows knitted together in deep thought. Hermione Granger was hiding something and she swore to herself that she would bring her secrets to the light, no matter what. -Harry and Draco’s Bedroom- “Honestly! Put some effort into it!” “I swear to you, I’m trying my best…” “You are so dispassionate! Give it to me already!” “Draco… really, lower your voice please!” Harry hissed removing his trousers for the irate blond. “Harry, this is the most pathetic excuse for-!” “Would you please just fuck the princess into the ground Harry? I can’t take anymore of his whining and nagging, no offense.” “None taken”, Draco smirked at Ron and Harry blushed, being half dressed in front of the redhead and caught in such a position. “Ron!” Ronald Weasley had been on his way down to breakfast and decided to stop by and give Harry a hand with his very difficult fiancé. They had been yelling back and forth for almost an hour now and woke him up before Hermione could get to him with her shrill screaming. The conversation had seemed dirty through the bedroom door, but actually having a visual to match surprised the redhead into laughter. Harry’s hair was messier than usual and he looked unbelievably flustered, pressed against the dresser by Draco who looked as perfect as always. Harry’s trousers were down to his ankles, one foot still in the pants and the other completely off of the ground. Draco held that leg captive in a firm grip at his waist and was settled between Harry’s legs. His blushing face and bare chest sealed the deal, “When did you start molesting Harry, Draco?” “I’ve been into it for a while now but I’ve only recently taken the initiative.” Harry’s mouth was agape; he couldn’t believe this was happening! He was speechless. Ron sobered up and looked at them seriously. “Hurry up, and don’t be late for breakfast or I’ll tell mum what you were up here doing.” “Aye aye captain” Draco saluted him, and Ron left closing the door behind him. “What in the bloody hell just happened?” “Harry, that language is not becoming of you.” Draco grinned as Harry rolled his eyes and allowed his betrothed to dress him to his satisfaction. : break: Once Draco raked his eyes over his masterpiece with a final nod of approval he broke out in an overly sweet smile. It almost made Harry forgive him for everything he had put him through in an impossibly short span of time, keyword: ALMOST. “Harry, you look ravishing!” At the blondes compliment Harry took a sidelong look of himself in the full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door. He had to admit, Draco had fantastic taste, and he even made Harry look presentable. Although since he was still miffed about the grief his betrothed had caused him he thought it was time for a little payback. Trying his best to school his features into seriousness, Harry gave a shrug of indifference. “Eh… it’s alright I suppose.” There was a stinging sensation in Draco’s chest but he ignored it and gave a hearty chuckle. Approaching the brunette with one eyebrow raised in disbelief he placed a hand on his shoulder. “Harry, darling, there is no need for you to be modest. I am not shy at all when it comes to receiving compliments.” Though the blonde was grinning Harry’s face never mirrored the playfulness. As he deftly removed the hand from his shoulder he murmured, “Well this isn’t really something worth praising.” The hand that his fiancé rejected fell limply to Draco’s side; the stinging in his chest became a burning sensation. There was a pressure behind his eyes, a product of his confusion and frustration at Harry’s rejection. Harry was certainly delighted with his acting; though he couldn’t see his gorgeous blonde he realized that he had him speechless! Draco had yet to utter a word, and Harry almost couldn’t contain his giggles and turned around to revel is his triumph of silencing the Great Draco Malfoy. When Harry’s eyes fell on grey orbs filled with despair he felt his heart fall from his chest. “Draco? Draco, what’s wrong?” The trembling man didn’t speak but a strained cry left his mouth involuntarily. Harry rushed forward and wrapped his arms around him, “Oh, Draco… please don’t cry! Talk to me, tell me what’s wrong.” When he spoke it was so low it could barely be considered as a whisper, but the words were as clear as a bell to Harry. “I’m not good enough for you…” Pulling back in horror, Harry’s mind was reeling trying to figure out what could have possibly brought this on. Not sure what had caused the sudden self- consciousness Harry decided it was more important to console his betrothed as quickly as possible. The raven pulled the blonde to his chest and rested his chin in the crook of his shoulder, while alternating between rubbing gentle circles into his back and stroking his hair. After a few minutes of the silent reassurance the weight of the possibility of not being worthy of Harry’s love hit Draco full force and he began to openly sob. His thin hands clung to his fiancé with as much strength as he could muster while feeling so weak. Harry only held him. He did not speak, or try to whisper sweet nothings and promises that he could not guarantee. Although Draco was safe now, he still had a lot of healing to do. Harry was well aware that it would not happen overnight and although Draco showed tremendous improvement and seemed completely happy, there was a darker side of him that had yet to be brought fully into the light. It would be a process, one that would take time but for Draco, Harry had nothing but time. Stroking the platinum blonde hair Harry placed gentle kisses over Draco’s neck and forehead, holding onto him like his life depended on it. -- END TEN ***** Eleven ***** The evening was quiet and Draco was curled up in an armchair in his and Harry’s room. His betrothed was currently in deep conversation with Arthur Weasley, although he wasn’t sure what the two had been discussing for the past two and a half hours. Sipping his tea absentmindedly Draco’s mind began to count the days. It had been a decent summer in the Burrow surrounded by the Weasley family, whom his father had always convinced him he should look down upon. They were not particularly annoying people as he came to understand that they were simply more open with their emotions and affections. It was a very warm environment and he knew that aside from the comfort the loving home gave him it also nurtured his and Harry’s relationship all the more. He and Ron had become fast friends, and he seemed like the overprotective older sibling that he never had. Even the little weaselette was becoming less of a nuisance and he certainly enjoyed her fiery temper. Yes, Ginny certainly made excellent conversation. Though the twins had been the first to greet him and welcome him wholeheartedly Draco admitted that he was skeptical about them at first, afraid to be on the receiving end of any of their pranks. Though he had been assured, after nearly jumping through the roof when they snuck up on him while he was strolling around outside, that they would never make him cry. That had been a strange way to put it. Malfoy’s do NOT cry! Well… only in front of Harry where he feels safe. Shaking his blonde head of hair he moved his thoughts from the twins to their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, a small smile graced his lips at the thought of him. He would never admit aloud just how fond he actually was of the pair but he had a feeling that they could tell. It was something unspoken and the topic remained approached, and he liked it that way. They treated him as if he were just like Harry, and adopted son whom they loved and cared for as if Molly had birthed them from her own womb. The only person he had not yet reconciled with was Granger, she was another thing entirely. If he was not present when she was spending time with Harry or one of the others, she would otherwise avoid him and he rarely ever saw the girl. His distrust of her still remained, though she had not done anything hostile towards him so he was fine for now. She didn’t have to like him for Harry to continue to love him and Harry’s love was all he needed in the world. Dumbledore was rarely there, and when the man did make an appearance Draco would immediately lock himself away in his and Harry’s shared room, refusing to come out until the man had left. No matter what Harry did he could not convince Draco to ever be in such close contact with the headmaster. For some reason he felt his gut telling him to stay as far away from the man as possible, and his instincts had never failed him to date. One perk to living with the Weasley’s at Grimmauld place was not only the fact that he was always near Harry, but he also saw his godfather frequently. When Severus Snape was not running about and had enough time to spare if he wasn’t visiting with a certain werewolf, he could spend some time talking things over with his godfather. As he expected, Severus never revealed his location to his parents. He still spoke with them at least once a week and gave Draco updates on how his mother was doing. When he felt it was safe enough he would begin to correspond with Narcissa through Severus, he knew that the man would be more than happy to help his godson and dear friend. Though his father may be a bastard, his mother was an innocent, bound to a monster through marriage. Taking another small sip of his tea Draco released a weary sigh. The time spent at Grimmauld place wasn’t nearly as horrid as he would have thought, he was just happy to be near Harry. Thoughts drifting to his betrothed he began to wonder how things would be when they returned to school in two weeks time. Things would never be the same. School would be different this year, especially since he and Harry’s relationship would be public. In his protection of Draco, the blonde knew that Harry would never hide their love for one another. No matter what people might say or think the passionate Gryffindor would never allow it. But before he could ponder how things may be at school he first had an even larger dilemma, Harry Potter’s birthday. Draco was going mad with frustration trying to think of a suitable gift for the man who had already given him so much in such a short time. Draco could never fully express his gratitude to his betrothed. Nonetheless he had to get him something, and as he flipped through all of the possibilities of what could make Harry as happy as he had made Draco it was as if a light was turned on. All darkness and doubt had been swept away with a single thought, the perfect gift for Harry Potter, the simple boy who never asked for much. The look on Draco’s face was a strange one indeed. It was grim happiness, clouded by uncertainty which was completely overshadowed by his determination and love. Draco knew exactly what to give Harry for his birthday, and he knew that the young man he cherished so much would not be disappointed. :+: Time Skip to July 30th, the Day Before Harry’s Actual Birthday :+: Bloody hell, what had he done? Draco couldn’t keep it together. He was forgetting things and jumping at the slightest sound or touch, even from Harry, and he could tell that the young man was concerned. Draco was supposed to be acting as if nothing were different, as if he weren’t going to lay himself out like a whore tonight for the man he loved. The fact still remained; he WAS going to lay himself out like a whore tonight for the man he loved to devour if he so chose to. It was driving the blonde bonkers! He couldn’t focus on anything and Harry was obviously hurt when he shied away from the hand that had reached out to hold his own. Draco honestly didn’t mean to deny Harry anything but he was so wrapped up in trying not to lose his nerve. He had to go through with this! Draco had been preparing himself for this night for the past two weeks. Currently everyone who had been staying at Grimmauld place that summer was gathered around the large dining room table for Harry’s birthday lunch. Technically his birthday was the following day but since they would all be returning to Hogwarts tomorrow they had opted to have a celebration with those closest to the Gryffindor, save a few friends. Harry knew that they would have another celebration with their friends once they returned to school. Instead of a birthday dinner they were having a birthday lunch, Draco had already made it VERY clear that he would be spending a romantic night with ‘his’ Harry and no one was brave enough (or stupid enough) to object. The room was full of laughter and conversation, Remus was present being that he wouldn’t have missed his cubs’ birthday for anything in the world. With him he brought Severus Snape who was surprisingly not causing any trouble. Snape was acting so civil it was slightly scary and he had even presented Harry with a gift from him and Remus. Draco tried to remain as calm as possible but he knew that his mask was slipping when Harry sent him a heart broken look. Draco immediately reached for the Gryffindors’ hand bringing it to his lips as he kissed the knuckle gently. Harry gave a tiny smile which broke out into a grin when Draco pulled him closer and kissed him breathless. Though the kiss was amazing he was not distracted from his betrotheds’ strange behavior. He was upset and he was trying to hide it but what scared Harry was the fact that he couldn’t. Draco was known to always be in control of his emotions. If there was something worrying him enough that he would slip up and show just how much of a wreck he is then it must be something serious. If Draco was hurting then he was hurting. Trying to focus on having a good time both Harry and Draco tightened their grips on each other’s hand and smiled at one another warmly. Whatever it was it could wait, this was Harry’s birthday celebration and he should enjoy it. At that moment Snape stood up and called everyone’s attention. “Well, first off I would like to say happy birthday to you Harry, the time has come for you to be a man. You have grown up well.” He managed a half smile and Harry returned it full force, “Thank you professor-“ “Please, call me Severus.” Harry was stunned but not deterred, “Thank you, Severus. That means a lot coming from you.” Then Remus stood beside him, “Actually that brings me to another announcement. Now cub, I don’t mean to overshadow your birthday but I would like all of you to know before we return to Hogwarts… Severus and I are going to marry and bond.” The last part of the sentence was barely above a whisper but everyone heard it. Ginny was the first to react, “Oh Merlin! That’s great! Congratulations!” She hugged Remus who was blushing brightly as he hugged Molly next. Even Draco stood and shook his hand and hugged his godfather tightly. Harry stood and gave his living godfather his congratulation and gave him a heartfelt hug. Harry was even brave enough to hug Severus, although briefly he and the man would come to some type of an understanding if it would make Remus happy. After having to deal with letting his friends know that Draco would be a permanent part of his life whether they liked it or not, he knew how Remus would feel, wanting his godson and future husband to get along. The remainder of the lunch went as smoothly as it had begun. They all celebrated Harry’s passage into wizarding adulthood, giving their gifts and sharing amusing stories. It was an afternoon full of laughs and positive energy, yet this was not enough to calm Draco’s nerves. As the afternoon slowly became night Draco excused himself under the ruse of a headache and went upstairs after convincing Harry that he should stay to finish opening his presents. From their room Draco used the fireplace to floo to the hotel room he had booked for the night. It was the penthouse suite of an upscale hotel, its prestige spread throughout both the muggle and wizarding worlds. As planned, Ron would wait until the end of the birthday lunch to give Harry the first clue to finding Draco. There were a total of five clues that would eventually lead Harry to the hotel where Draco would prepare for their special evening. Draco was careful not to make the clues too difficult, or too simple. They were challenging enough to get Harry thinking but not too complex. Draco had faith in Harry’s intelligence even when others did not. Draco laid charmed red and gold rose petals at the foot of the room door, where a portkey would later bring his soon to be lover. The thought caused a shiver to run down Draco’s spine, coupled with the shiver of cold air hitting his bare skin as he banished his clothing and made his way towards the spacious bathroom. Turning the gold knobs, water began to pour from the taps and fill the large bath tub. The blonde poured scented oils that smelled of rosemary and vanilla into the water and bubbles began to rise. Retrieving vanilla scented shampoo and conditioner from the sink he stepped into the hot water and submerged himself completely. Quickly he began to work the shampoo through his blonde locks thoroughly. As his fingers moved through the motions his thoughts once again returned to his Harry. The man he loved so much he sometimes forgot to breathe. This would be a wonderful night; Draco would make sure of it. It was time that he and Harry took their relationship to another level before he lost him. Draco knew that Harry was only trying to be polite and sensitive to his feelings, but at the same time he knew that a man could only wait for him for so long before his interests became in danger of swaying to someone else. With that thought Draco once again submerged himself completely in the bath water, feeling the slight temptation to stay under longer than he could hold his breath. Reluctantly returning to a sitting position above the water Draco began to gently apply the sweet smelling conditioner to his hair. He was far from angry with Harry, it was only natural that he would need a certain level of intimacy with someone he loved and Draco planned to be the only person that Harry ever loved in that way. Even if he wasn’t ready yet, he would make himself ready; anything to keep his Harry from looking for satisfaction elsewhere. “Draco?” Nearly ten minutes later after rinsing his hair and scrubbing his skin as quickly and thoroughly as he could, Draco heard Harry call out to him. Nervously Draco cast a drying spell on his hair and a moisturizing spell on his entire body. The blonde donned a grey silk robe and took a deep breath, preparing himself and masking his fear. :Harry: After Draco left the table we all stayed for nearly another hour before finally we began to clean up. No one would allow me to help with the clean up however. When I began to insist I help Ron pulled me to the side of the room and handed me a piece of parchment. “What’s this?” “Your first clue, there are four more that will lead you to the princess.” Automatically Harry thought of Draco, the only person that Ron referred to in such a way. “Where is he?” “I don’t know exactly and if I did I wouldn’t tell you. You have to follow the clues and find him. Have fun mate.” Ron grinned at him and gave him a friendly shove towards the front door. From there Harry left Grimmauld place and stood out front as he opened the parchment and began to read the first clue. --- END ELEVEN Please drop_by_the_archive_and_comment to let the author know if you enjoyed their work!
