Jimin liked taking long walks at night. Notes See the end of the work for notes Yoongi wasn’t one of the good guys. He had been dealing drugs for several years, had been spending almost every night in clubs around the city, partying like there was no tomorrow. Yoongi was always smoking, had a pack of cigarettes in his pocket at all times. Always a different girl around him. He couldn’t live without. Yoongi enjoyed the dangerous life, lived for the thrill. It made him feel mighty, on top of the world. Untouchable. Yoongi was completely bound to Seoul and he loved every bit of it. - Jimin liked taking long walks at night. He enjoyed the feeling of the cooling breeze on his skin, enjoyed the crisp smell of the air. Jimin really liked the way the lights stood out at night, like little coloured drops of paint floating in the air. Jimin lived for those walks. They gave him an opportunity to think, to clear his mind, to be alone. Jimin didn’t know what was so charming about Seoul at night, but he did know that he wouldn’t want to spend his nights somewhere else. - ‘Yoongi-ya, why did you leave me last night? What did I do wrong? Yoongi-ya!’ Yoongi was sitting in the windowsill of his apartment, was looking down on the girl whining. ‘Why did you leave? Don’t look at me like I’m a bag of trash, Yoongi-ya! You told me I was your girl, your only one. The girl you had been dreaming about. Your angel. Why did you tell me those lies, Yoongi-ya. Why did you have to break my heart like that?’ Yoongi lit a cigarette, blew out the smoke, kept his silence. ‘Min Yoongi don’t ignore me! Answer me! What am I to you?’ Yoongi noticed how a crowd was going to gather, knew he had to make her leave. ‘Park Choa, leave. You knew what you were getting yourself into. Who you were letting in. Go cry somewhere else. I don’t care.’ The girl started to sob uncontrollably. Yoongi scoffed. ‘I told you to go, didn’t I? Why are you still standing there causing a scene?’ Choa looked up, Yoongi tapped on his cigarette, made some of the ashes fall down. Someone appeared behind Choa, pulled her away from Yoongi’s curb. ‘You’re a dick, Min Yoongi! You’re going to rot in hell!’ Yoongi didn’t move, didn’t flinch. He kept smoking, looking outside indifferently. He had gotten used to girls screaming at him, calling him names. Making girls cry. He didn’t care. He had chosen to be a dick. ‘You were harsh, hyung, really harsh.’ Yoongi turned his head around. ‘You don’t know what it’s like to have girls scream at you all the time, Hoseok-ah. That’s harsh. I’m doing them a favour. These girls think men are sensitive and ready to commit while all of us just want to fuck a vagina instead of a sock. We are animals and they are the flowers we need and soppy stuff like that.’ Hoseok shook his head. ‘Keep telling yourself that, hyung, keep telling. Once you find a really great girl, you’ll only say soppy stuff. You’re just afraid of turning into a committed person.’ Yoongi threw his cigarette out of the window, stood up. ‘Shut up, Jung Hoseok. This chick you’ve been hanging around with is changing you too much.’ Yoongi grabbed a small plastic bag out of his pocket, sat down next to Hoseok. ‘A line, Hobi?’ Hoseok shrugged. ‘Yeah, why not.’ - Jimin was staring at the 63 building, was counting all the illuminated windows. Was wondering what everybody inside those lightened rooms was doing. Were they working, were they sleeping, were they procrastinating. Jimin didn’t know, but liked to imagine he did. He made up stories about every room, every person that either entered or exited the building. It was one of his favourite places to spend the night at. It was something peaceful, something different. By making up those stories, Jimin relaxed. It was his getaway from his responsibilities, his college work. Studying to become a pharmacist was really tiring. The constant research, constant writing about medicine, constant experimenting, at some point it became routine work and Jimin didn’t want that. He wanted to be able to fully enjoy his studies. Those made up stories really helped him to break the chain of monotony. Jimin could sit down and stare at the 63 building for hours. Unfortunately, that night, he couldn’t stay for too long. Jimin had promised his friends he would hang out with them at some club in Gangnam. He wasn’t really the type to go out that often, but he didn’t mind a night out every now and then. He was just about to leave his spot, when a man rushed by and bumped into him. The man didn’t bother to say sorry, ran off as fast as he had appeared. Jimin stared at his back, until he couldn’t see his back anymore. Jimin turned around, was ready to really leave, when he noticed a small plastic bag on the ground. He squatted down to pick it up, looked at it. Jimin looked at the powder in the bag. Just to confirm, he opened the bag, smelled the substance inside. He closed the bag, looked around, checked whether someone was near enough to see him pocket the little bag. Jimin knew exactly what he had found and he knew how wrong it was to possess it. As nonchalantly as he could, Jimin walked away from the building, towards the subway station. - ‘Pour me another one, Hoseok-ah.’ Yoongi was holding up his glass, looking at a smiling Hoseok, who obediently poured him another glass of champagne. The distinctive sound of a booming bass was clearly audible in the back. The club was filled with barely clothed women, empty glasses were scattered everywhere. Yoongi was sitting on a couch in the far back, with a girl hanging on his lap, trying to catch his attention. Hoseok was sitting near, with a bottle of champagne in one of his hands and a pile of money in his other. Hoseok was looking at the woman working on the pole in front of him, enjoying the view. Yoongi gulped his newly filled glass down, put his glass on the table next to him. Tried to light another cigarette. Looked at the girl on top of him, blew out some smoke in her face. ‘Oppa why are you burning your lungs like that. It’s not good to smoke.’ Yoongi didn’t really care. ‘I’m not burning my lungs, I’m enjoying life, Seulgi-ya. You should try, too.’ Yoongi offered her his cigarette, which she took. It was her turn to blow smoke. She smiled. ‘I can feel it go through me, oppa. I think I know what you mean with enjoying life.’ Yoongi took his cigarette back. ‘There is a way to feel even more alive. Want to try?’ Seulgi nodded eagerly. Yoongi pulled out a little plastic bag out of his pocket. He showed the little pills to the girl. ‘Have you ever tried those?’ She shook her head. ‘Want to try? You don’t need to be afraid. I promise you, Seulgi-ya, you will feel so great, like you’re the queen of this world.’ Yoongi looked at Seulgi, intensely. He let his finger slide down her cheek. ‘Do you trust me, Seulgi-ya?’ Seulgi nodded again, Yoongi smiled. He handed her the little bag, bended over to grab the bottle of champagne that Hoseok had put down. Yoongi turned around to grab his glass, filled it. He handed the glass to Seulgi, took the plastic bag back. He emptied the pills in the glass. ‘Now give it a little swirl.’ Seulgi did what Yoongi asked her to do, giggled a bit when Yoongi put his hand on hers to help. He kept looking at the younger girl, who was obviously excited. ‘Drink up, baby girl.’ Seulgi gulped down the whole glass, handed it back to Yoongi. Yoongi put the glass back on the table, looked at Seulgi. ‘Good girl.’ - ‘Park Jimin, you’re early. Eager to party?’ Jimin smiled awkwardly. ‘I just arrived, hyung.’ Seokjin patted Jimin on his back. ‘That’s what I used to say too, kid, no need to be embarrassed. I promise you, tonight is going to be memorable. In a couple of years, you’re going to look back on tonight and remember how much of a good night you had.’ Jimin wasn’t quite sure whether he wanted to make it an unforgettable night. He didn’t like drinking too much, had never been really drunk before. It wasn’t his thing. ‘Don’t think too much about it, Jimin-ah.’ Right then, Taehyung arrived. It was obvious that he had been drinking before arriving to the club. ‘Sup dweebs. Having fun outside I see. Bet there is more to do in there. Let’s go!’ Taehyung grabbed the two and dragged them inside, towards the bar. Taehyung ordered 6 shots of vodka, 2 for everyone. Jimin moaned, Taehyung shoved him. ‘No complaining, nerd, drink up.’ After downing the shots, Jimin felt like dying. His throat was burning, he was vigorously coughing. ‘Pussy.’ Jimin didn’t hear. ‘Jimin-ah, let’s dance!’ It was Seokjin’s turn to drag now. Jimin had barely recovered from the vodka. The three went right through the crowd, until they got somewhere in the middle. Jimin’s body started to move to the beat. It didn’t take him long to completely lose himself to the music. After all, Jimin was a night person. - ‘What do you mean you lost a bag? You know how the client specifically ordered 200 grams. I can’t do less, we’ll lose them to someone else. Do I need to remind you how tough the business is, Jeon Jungkook?’ Yoongi was furious. He knew his message boy wasn’t ready yet to do transportations. Still, the elder had trusted the kid to do it. How wrong he was. ‘How are you going to solve this, Jungkook-ah? Tell me.’ Jungkook swallowed, didn’t know what to say. He was afraid to answer Yoongi. ‘That shit is expensive, kid. Expensive and dangerous. If it falls into the wrong hands, we’re doomed. I’ve told you several times. I don’t want to see you for a while. Go.’ Yoongi nodded towards the exit. Jungkook left as quickly as he could, afraid Yoongi would change his mind and call him back. Or even worse: order him to go back and find the missing bag. Jungkook made sure he was moving fast in order to avoid more trouble with Yoongi. Yoongi, however, wasn’t thinking about Jungkook anymore. He had bigger problems to worry about. ‘Hyung, I still have some on me.’ Yoongi nodded, took the little bag from Hoseok. ‘Thanks, Hobi. This is why you’re my man. Always prepared.’ Hoseok nodded back. Yoongi turned to Seulgi, who looked like she was having a blast. ‘That shit made her go wild, man. I think we might be able to hook her.’ Seulgi turned to Yoongi, who blew her a kiss. The girl caught the kiss, sent one back. Yoongi stood up. ‘Keep your eyes out on her. I need to wrap this deal up.’ Hoseok saluted, Yoongi walked away. - ‘Hyung, Tae, let’s go outside. I need to show you something.’ After a couple more shots, Jimin decided it was a good idea to show his friends the little bag he had found earlier. The three boys left the club, entered an alley near. Jimin pulled the bag out of his pocket. ‘Look, I found this earlier. I’m pretty sure it’s pure and save to use. What do you think?’ Taehyung started to squeal. Seokjin clapped. ‘Yes, yes oh god Jimin. Where would we be without you. You should come more often. A genius you are. We need some place to do this, somewhere flat.’ Seokjin looked around, spotted a couple trash bins. ‘Right there, that’s flat enough.’ Seokjin grabbed the bag out of Jimin’s hands, walked towards the bins. He prepared three lines, did the bottom one. Tae did the one on top. The middle one was obviously the thickest, but both boys were way too drunk to notice. Neither did Jimin. He mindlessly mimicked what his friends had done. Jimin could immediately feel the drugs run through him. ‘God. God, Jimin. Where did you find this shit. Bless you and your soul, really, honestly.’ Jimin grinned like a fool, grabbed Taehyung’s hand. The latter didn’t seem to notice nor mind. ‘I will show you one day, Tae, I found it in the greatest place ever. But now, right now we need to have a drink. I am so thirsty.’ Taehyung nodded. ‘Let’s go to that club you always talk about, Tae. The one with the pole dancers and pretty girls.’ Taehyung started to jump up and down, started to act like an overly excited puppy. ‘Yes, hyung, yes! That’s the best idea ever. Let’s go, follow me!’ Taehyung and Jimin were still holding hands when they entered the streets. Seokjin was walking behind them, completely absorbed by the night sky. ‘The sky, the lights, so pretty. Why can’t we swim outside? Why do we need water to do that? I would love to swim here, wouldn’t you?’ Jimin giggled. ‘Hyung if you undress, I’m sure you could swim right here.’ Jimin pointed at a fountain in front of another club.’ ‘Right there, there is this massive pool you see. I swim there every night. It’s so refreshing, hyung, you should try!’ Seokjin was about to unbuckle his pants, when someone stopped him. ‘Keep that on, young man. This is no place to show your package.’ Seokjin pouted. Taehyung grabbed his hand, pulled him away. The trio ran. ‘We’re here, we’re here!’ The boys arrived at a smaller club, hidden behind a convenience store. They were welcomed by the smell of cigarettes and sweat when they entered. Taehyung dropped them in one of the booths, close to a pole. The woman working had purple hair and was wearing something that looked like a black mini dress, but was everything but a dress. At the other side of the club, Hoseok had noticed the trio enter. He nudged Yoongi, who had just returned from his deal. ‘New blood. I’ve seen the one with bright red hair before. Blonde one too. The black one is new, though.’ Hoseok observed for another second. Right then, Jimin pushed his hair back, bit his lip. Yoongi felt something twitch. ‘Black one seems like a weakling. His eyes have this hungry glint. A non-user, most likely.’ Yoongi nodded, kept his gaze on the black haired male. ‘You think we can hook him?’ Hoseok shrugged, took a sip from his drink. ‘You’re the boss, right. The expert. What do you think?’ Yoongi turned around to look at Seulgi, who was pretending to be a cat. She meowed at Yoongi, who pretended to bite back. ‘Maybe.’ Yoongi stood up, grabbed a bottle from the table. ‘Worth a shot, right?’ Hoseok patted Yoongi on his ass. ‘Do your thing.’ Yoongi nodded, headed over to the trio. He dropped himself on the couch, casually, right next to Jimin. He put the bottle down on the table. ‘Having fun, boys? First time at Club 2 I see.’ Yoongi put his hand on Jimin’s knee. Jimin felt his ears heat up. He nodded, Yoongi smirked. ‘You should make sure that you won’t forget tonight, don’t you think?’ Yoongi stood up as fast as he sat down. ‘If you’re looking for some more fun, I’ll be there.’ Yoongi pointed to the corner where he was seated. He walked back, turned around to catch Jimin staring at him. Seokjin and Taehyung had already grabbed the bottle and were pouring themselves some drinks. Yoongi winked at Jimin, who quickly diverted his attention to the purple haired woman. ‘Really Tae, this place is the best. Why are we always hanging around at that dump? Let’s come here every night!’ Taehyung nodded, handed a glass to Jimin. ‘Cheers to Club 2 then, our new home base!’ The trio cheered loudly. - Jimin was seeing a lot of bright colours. Colours brighter than his favourite city lights. Everything was spinning, his legs felt like they were a separate person. Several women had tried to seduce him, but Jimin kept thinking of the boy who had welcomed them earlier. His gaze was fixed on the booth where he was seated. Every time the orange haired girl got closer to him, Jimin would feel his fists ball. ‘Jimin-ah, why are you sulking like that? Did your girlfriend break up with you? Do you need me to cheer you up?’ One of the women scooted closer to Jimin, put her hand on his thigh. ‘I am sure I can make you feel better again.’ Jimin pushed her away, stood up. ‘No.’ He turned to his friends. ‘I need some fresh air.’ Seokjin shrugged, Taehyung didn’t even look around. Jimin struggled while he walked away, went outside. Yoongi noticed. ‘Hobi, I’ll be outside.’ Hoseok nodded. He had noticed Jimin leaving too. ‘Go grab him, tiger.’ Yoongi flipped him off, went outside. He found Jimin sitting right next to the door. Yoongi squatted down. ‘Having fun, boy?’ Jimin looked up, was slightly surprised and very delighted. ‘Yeah, yeah. Just wanted some fresh air.’ Yoongi nodded, grabbed his pack of cigarettes. He lit one, offered another to Jimin, who shook his head. ‘I don’t smoke.’ Yoongi laughed. ‘A good boy, I see. So do you ever go outside or did your friends drag you out?’ Jimin shook his head. ‘I take long walks at night, when the city is asleep. There is something about Seoul at night. It’s mesmerizing. Peaceful, but still fully alive, you know. Like a living painting, so beautiful.’ Yoongi nodded, Jimin turned to look at him. ‘Almost as beautiful as you.’ Jimin knew he was being bold, but he didn’t really care. Yoongi smirked, leaned forwards. His nose touched Jimin’s. ‘Careful there, boy. You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.’ Jimin was holding his breath, while Yoongi kept the close distance. ‘Tell me, have you ever considered going bad?’ Jimin shook his head. Yoongi stood up, pulled Jimin with him. ‘Let me show you something.’ Yoongi kept a firm hold on Jimin’s hand, guided him through the busy streets. They entered an apartment building not too far away. Went up by elevator. They arrived at the highest floor. Yoongi pulled Jimin through the corridors, towards the door that led to the rooftop. Once they arrived, Jimin felt his jaw drop. The Seoul skyline was perfectly visible, incredibly illuminated. Jimin was amazed. ‘Much better than seeing it from down there, don’t you think?’ Jimin nodded. The two were still holding hands. Jimin couldn’t move his gaze from the skyline. Yoongi kept looking at Jimin, mesmerised. Jimin turned around to look at Yoongi. ‘But I think you’re still more beautiful.’ Yoongi shook his head. ‘You don’t know, boy, you don’t know how tainted I am.’ It was Jimin’s turn to shake his head. He stepped closer to Yoongi, moved his face forward until their noses touched for the second time that night. ‘I don’t care.’ Jimin closed the gap between their lips. When their lips touched, Jimin could see all the city lights explode. Jimin could feel every single drop of blood rushing through his veins. Everything felt so good, so erratic. Jimin didn't know what was happening, but he sure liked it. He didn't let their lips be parted for longer than a couple seconds. Jimin was hungry for the feeling that kissing Yoongi was giving him. Yoongi felt his heart beat faster, his body heat up. He was confused about those feelings. He had never felt something like that before. Yoongi felt the urge to keep kissing Jimin, to go even further. It was a strange sensation Yoongi grew to like very fast. He didn't want to stop touching Jimin ever again. He wanted to have Jimin forever.
