Many thanks again to everyone who posted positive feedback on the previous stories in this series.  Hope you enjoy this postscript to the series.  If you've not read "The Tale of Our Isle," "Grandma Annie's Sea Journal," "The Story of Our Homecoming," "The Tale of Our Mountain," and "Family Reunion," you might want to do so to meet the characters and follow the storyline up to this point. This story is written especially for the fans who enjoyed the characters and the saga up to this point.  Newcomers might not be interested in such detailed storyline with so much previous history.  With this installment, the series takes a dark turn, and moves off in a very different direction from the previous stories.  

There are several long digressions that have more to do with developing the characters' storylines, and not as much to do with BE.  I hope this is okay with the fans.  Honestly, I wasn't as happy with the execution of this story.  I think I went too far with the backstory, and it became tedious to write, and maybe to read.  It was more a literary experiment for me, as I've not done much writing in the past.  

If you like a detailed story, you might like this installment.  If not, hope this story is not too ponderous for you, and my apologies.  You might like Part 2 better, since it has less character development and more of what everyone likes in a BE story!

With the enclosed artwork, I'm becoming more comfortable with computer-coloring.  I'm still on the learning curve, but am happy with the progress.  For a complete archive of all the artwork in this series, check out my galleries at deviantArt under "EggsAnytime."

Part 2 will be released soon.  I have some ideas for another story after that, but no promises as to when or even if that story will ever be ready. 

It's great to read everyone's appreciative comments.  It's the only way to get "paid" for all this work, other than my own satisfaction.  I'd still appreciate some feedback on the story page at TOB, or on the feedback comment thread on the TOF forum (link below).  While it's nice to get lots of hits, it's really a drag to get so few comments.  I am very grateful for any feedback on this story or the series in general.
