A Guide to Tauros Character Creation

Preface

The following is a small guide to the various fluid capacities, capabilities, and sizes of the Tauros in their many forms. Just as vampires grow stronger as they age, all Tauros naturally get more powerful (but not necessarily more physical strength) as they endure the years. Access to stronger magical abilities and the ability to produce and hold more fluids are a few such ways that they naturally increase in ability. This structure prevents a newborn Tauros from appearing more powerful than an elder or an ancient.

This guide is purely optional.  If you enjoy the idea of a Tauros and care to use them in any fashion, I'm deeply honored.  I use this guide only as a tool for character development and creating a somewhat structured, believable system to chart Tauros physical development in my own stories.

Physical Attributes

The Tauros are a loose interpretation of the World of Darkness role-playing system. I attempted to emulate that rule-set as much as possible when trying to describe the Tauros, so that if anyone wished to attempt creating a role-playing game about them, they might have an adequate, established system to blend it with.

Having said that, all characters in the WoD have nine attributes spread among the three categories of Physical, Mental, and Social. Each of these attributes ranges from 1 to 5 dots in strength. 1 is considered to be inferior to most in ability, while 2 represents an average human. 5 is the peak of human perfection in that attribute (such as a champion weight-lifter or an Einstein-caliber intellect.)

PHYSICAL

Strength

STR

Raw physical power.

Dexterity

DEX

Quickness, flexibility in motion.

Stamina

STA

Physical fitness and fortitude.

MENTAL

Intellect

INT

Cognitive processing power, puzzle-solving.

Wits

WIT

Quickness of mind, reaction time.

Resolve

RES

Ability to resist distraction.

SOCIAL

Presence

PRE

Physical looks, charisma, or personality.

Manipulation

MAN

The ability to influence. Charm, persuasion.

Composure

COM

Dignity or poise, appearing cool under fire.

When making a character, each category (physical, mental, and social) must be assigned as either strong, average, or weak. For strong whichever set is chosen as strong, the character receives 7 dots to distribute among the 3 statistics. The average category receives 5, while the weak category gets only 3. All abilities begin at 1, so evenly distributing even the weak category with produce a character with all 2's, which is the human average.

The rest of the character creation rules are detailed in the WoD book (which I bought for about $20) if you're interested, but only the primary attributes are needed for gaging the rest of a Tauros' size or power.

Breast Size Formula

The following is a guide which I used to determine the size of a female Tauros' breasts. The only attribute which I could imagine being an effective gage of how attractive a character could be was Presence, so most of the formulas use that attribute. Of course, Presence doesn't only mean physical good looks. Other factors are incorporated in that attribute, such as assertiveness, so this is by no means the be-all, end-all of interpretation.

Feel free to ignore this and simply choose a breast size. I provided some "average" breast sizes in the table below to show the normal range of a Tauros' body.

This creates Homid breast size ranges from 4 which is a D-cup, to 8, or an H-Cup. Minimum breast sizes do not increase as a Tauros ages. This is due to a Tauros' innate need to blend in with human society. Anything larger would draw much unwanted attention and make them easily recognizable by their foes.

Cup size is a loose term here, indicating approximately how many inches from the front of her torso that a Tauros' breasts or udders extend while unsupported.

Penis/Vagina Size Formula

The following is a chart illustrating the size variation of Tauros in terms of primary sexual characteristics, or penis length and vagina depth. This is only a guideline, however, as Tauros are naturally resilient and flexible, so larger sizes would of course be possible under certain circumstances.

Again, this base size does not increase as a Tauros ages, simply for reasons of blending in to human society.

Tongue Length

All Tauros have supernaturally long tongues.  They are used not only for sexual activities, but for manipulation of objects when they are swollen with milk.  In Minos and Taurid form, Tauros lack most of their manual dexterity in their hands simply due to their strange 3-fingered configuration, and to their greatly increased size.  To compensate for this, Tauros use their long tongues to perform actions that they would normally be unable to reach, or precisely manuever.   The following table illustrates the approximate length of a Tauros' tongue in the various forms.  The value given is in inches the tongue is able to extend from the mouth.

Beginning Capacity Values

Based on a Tauros' birth auspice (which is the phase of the moon she was born under), she will have a differing starting amount of fluid capacity. This capacity always increases by one gallon per year. This value constitutes the maximum amount of milk a Tauros may hold in one of her udders/breasts. Total capacity is determined by multiplying this number by the total number of breasts on each form.

(For a bull Tauros, capacity values are meaningless.)

Consult the table below to determine the beginning capacity values for a Tauros.

Involuntary Milk Production

All female Tauros produce at least their capacity rating in milk per day involuntarily. So in two days, her Homid form will at least be at full capacity, while her Minos form will be 'flooded' in just over a week, provided she was not milked.

Production Rating

Based on the Tauros' breed type, she will be able to produce differing quantities of milk per orgasm. Charted below is a guideline for how productive a female Tauros is, based on breed. The Production value column shows how many gallons of milk a female Tauros will create when expending a stored energy point (having an orgasm). This value is further increased by a partners sexual proficiency as indicated in the next section.

The following table also provides some measure of size difference between the breeds. The Larder value shows how much cud can be stored in the female Tauros' body. This value represents pounds of cud and is a gage of how large that breed of Tauros is in relation to the others.

All female Tauros have a Larder which is a convenient food storage pouch located on their hips and buttocks. Based on which breed she is, she will have a varying beginning capacity. Her Capacity rating plus the Larder value given by the breed table above combine to show how much cud she is able to contain in her larder.

Total Larder Capacity = Initial Larder + Capacity Rating

Production Rolls

When a female Tauros wishes to produce milk, she expends one stored energy point from her pool and climaxes in an orgasm. Each orgasm takes a number of rounds equal to the Tauros' Willpower score (the total of Resolve and Composure, average of 4) to build. During that time, the number of successes scored by a partner (or herself) is added to the Production rating, determined by breed. That is how much milk is produced in that one orgasm.

In the d10 system, a number of ten-sided dice are rolled depending on the circumstances. Any dice which roll and 8 or higher are considered successes. Any 10s are successes, but then rolled again, scoring more successes depending on how the subsequent rolls turn out.

All of this is detailed in the WoD rulebook, but the average 'action' (firing a gun, racing a car, etc.) is a combination of a base statistic (STR, DEX, MAN...) and a skill rating (Firearms, Driving, Research). Skill ratings are from 0 to 5, with 0 being untrained and 5 being the grand master in a given field.

Using this system, I created a couple of skills like Oral Sex, or Penetration, or just simply Sex, to scale how effective each of my characters was at any given sexual task. Then by adding DEX + whatever this skill value was, I got my number of dice needed for the dice pool. It may sound complicated, but in practice it's extremely fast and simple. The rulebook does far better explaining it all.

An Example Production Roll:

A Tauros has 6 Willpower, so it will take 6 rounds to induce an orgasm in her. Her partner scores a number of successes equal to 2, 1, 1, 0, 3, and 1 during the six rounds, totaling 8. Adding 10 (her breed production rating), we are left with 18. So 18 gallons of milk are produced in that one orgasm.

The above example works exactly the same way for bulls, only the value indicates gallons of semen ejaculated and not milk produced.

Digestion Rates

Based on the Tauros' lineage (form she was born in), she will regenerate her energy at a varying rate. If the mother is human, Tauros are always born in Homid. If she is a cow, they are born in Bovine. If the mother is a Tauros, she gives birth in whatever form matches the sire. Metis Tauros are born in Minos and have 2 Tauros parents.

LINEAGE

DIGESTION

Homid

1

2

For every hour, the Tauros will recuperate the above value in energy points. This is contingent upon her supply of food, however. If she has no more food stored in her system to digest, she will be unable to regenerate energy, so maintaining a stocked Larder helps to facilitate milk production.

A Tauros can orgasm as many times as they desire, but to produce any milk (or semen) during one, they must have stored energy. Every milk-producing orgasm requires the expenditure of one point of energy. A Tauros can store as much energy in her body as her STA + Primal Urge. If a Tauros is currently holding as much energy as she is allowed, her body will not digest any more food.

A Tauros uses her STA rating in pounds of food per day automatically. Failure to eat at least this much causes a cumulative -1 HEALTH penalty per day. When her HEALTH reaches 0, she dies.

Primal Urge Rating

A Tauros becomes more and more connected to her bestial side as she ages. For every 10 years she has lived, she gains one point of PRIMAL URGE. This value represents her connection to the bovine spirit and her ability to harness and store energy in its raw form. This energy is used to produce magical effects or milk at the Tauros' discretion.

Height and Weight Ratings

Below is a list of starting averages on height and weight for each of the six breeds in each of the five forms. Again, this is a rough estimation. Feel free to ignore this entirely, or to have very tall or very short Tauros. I only employed it to lend a sense of realism between the sizes of the breeds.

Weights are all given in pounds. Males are roughly half again as heavy as females, and generally around 6 inches taller.

Changing Forms

Being natural shape-changers, Tauros have a number of different forms they can call upon at any time. Changing shape requires no expenditure of energy points, and takes approximately 3 to 10 seconds to complete the transformation.

The various forms also have differing attribute modifiers to them. Below is a list of the forms and their associated modifiers.

STR, STA, and DEX modifiers apply when in that chosen form. They do not stack as a Tauros progresses through the forms, instead the value given is the total value change. Stamina changes do not affect the total stored energy pool. This value is based only off the Tauros' Homid form.

Size increases as a Tauros changes forms. This results in more health levels, as well as other factors outlined in the core rulebook.

Speed increases as the Tauros gets larger in the case of the Minos form, and again when taking to four legs in the case of the Taurid or Bovine forms.

Perception bonuses account for the heightened sense of smell that a Tauros has while in the other forms.

Health Rating

Taking damage and healing back up again is part of any role-playing game, so the same is true for WoD. To determine the total health levels of a character, take their Size (determined by form) and add their STA rating (modified by form again). This means the average Tauros (STA of 2) has 7 health levels in Homid form, and 13 in Minos (+2 for size, +4 STA).

The effects of damage are not detailed here.

As a shape-changer, Tauros regenerate wounds from bashing and lethal damage at a rate of one point per round. Aggravated damage point can be regenerated by consuming 1 gallon of milk from a female Tauros. (Females regenerate aggravated damage automatically by absorbing their own milk back into their bodies... if they are carrying any.)

Supernatural Strength

As magical and supernatural creatures, Tauros are blessed with a super-human strength.  This strength is a by-product of their close spiritual ties to the bull and oxen spirits.  In Homid form, Tauros are treated as having 2 more dots of strength than they actually have, or the equivalent of their Labrix form.  This strength increase does not increase muscle mass, but merely reflects the magical strength each Tauros possesses.

Closing Statements

That's pretty much the outline for how a Tauros operates. I plan to add magical powers (called gifts in WoD) in the future, which would require expending stored energy points to operate, but perhaps such things are best left the mind of the fiction writer. I would imagine as magical creatures, all manner of actions are possible. From ballooning up to hot air balloon proportions, to conjuring fireballs, to flying like Superman, perhaps nothing is beyond their reach.

Again, this whole guide is only just that... a guide.  I used it to shape the events in my stories, but feel free to ignore any or all of it.  Most of all, have fun, and thanks for reading!
