It's been a while, so I should write. I haven't read much new. Not much at all. I did re-read a few stories the other day that i hadn't read in quite some time.

I read two of the three stories that I thought looked good last night. The first, Incest Roleplay by Jessy19, isn't really a story. It is a transcript of a chat session. It's okay. A little on the short side. Not a whole lot to it. The author has written other stories that I have enjoyed quite a bit.
The second, A Therapist's Opinion by jallen944, impressed me less. In part, I think, because there is a bit of bait and switch going on here. The author dresses it up like an incest story, but then there is very little of that. In part, because it involves one of my least favorite schticks, no pun intended, an older woman taking pity on (or advantage of) a shy guy with a huge cock. In all fairness to the author I think I lost interest once I saw where the story was headed.

Just recently, as in earlier this morning, I re-read The Wounded Hawthorne Family by Cardinal Singh. The first time I read it, almost two years ago, I wasn't very taken by it. I chose not to write about it. My recollection of my initial reaction to the story is that I thought the ending was flawed, too simplistic. This morning I decided to give it another try. From past experience, I knew that that knowing how a story ends can alter my appreciation of it. This time around, knowing that there would be no twist at the very ending, I re-read The Wounded Hawthorne Family. I focused on the characters and dialogue, more than the plot. I think that was the right thing to do.
The story opens with a tease: Paul snuggling with his 18-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, in front of the television. Nothing too serious happens, but Paul is left with a raging erection and the desire to take things further. He goes to bed and tells his wife, Julie, about what happened. Instead of getting angry or disturbed, Julie shrugs her shoulders and confesses some of her own fantasies. Hot sex ensues, with Paul pretending to be his wife's father.
From here on the story gets more complicated. More family members are introduced. Elizabeth is Paul and Julie's youngest child. It turns out that all four of the Hawthorne siblings have been involved in incestuous relationships with one another. This includes Julie and Paul's oldest child, Jon, who was killed a couple years earlier during an incident of road rage. Paul and Julie's initial reaction is moral indignation. They get Gwendolyn, Christopher, and Elizabeth to agree to not have sex with one another.
But it isn't that simple, especially for Gwen who on that fateful day a couple years earlier lost not only her brother Jon, but also her first lover. Not being able to share this with her parents has been devastating. As things begin to bubble to the surface Paul and Julie begin to cave; as eventually their morals are compromised by their own libidinous desires and their love for their children.
Possibly, I have given away too much of the plot. Given my initial reaction, as described above, I think not. The best part isn't the plot, it is the character development. Watching Paul and Julie deal with their own conflicting emotions and desires. They want their children to be happy and to heal, but they also are sexually aroused by what they feel they should not do with their children and their children's openness to the possibilities.

I read Man of My Dreams last night. I thought it was fairly good story. I enjoyed it. Not too long or drawn out. Possibly more melodramatic than realistic, but overall a fun read.
