COMMENTARY: Great series of stories, in my opinion, about a man in his early to mid-thirties who is kind to the teenage girls next door. Their father has deserted them and their mother doesn't have the time to deal with them. John, the main character, does what he can to help them cope and is repaid with sex. Despite the title, the stories actually have a light, somewhat romantic touch to them.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTARY: I wrote the original commentary after reading just the first ten chapters (1 through 3.8). I was planning on updating the links but, after rereading what I had written, I decided that I should also explain how and why I continue to read this story.

Q: How have I read and enjoyed this story?
A: I have read and enjoyed this story as a serial. I have not sat down and read more than three chapters at a time. I also do not read each new chapter as it comes out. I wait until after two or three new chapters have been posted and then read them all in one sitting. This means that I only read from the story a couple times a month, at most. I like it that way. I'm not sure that I would enjoy it as much if I sat down and read the whole thing over the course of a few consecutive nights. It would probably be too much, overkill.

Q: Why have I continued to read and enjoy this story?
A: There is more to it than just sex and despite it's length it hasn't bogged down or gotten too predictable. Even though there is quite a bit of sex, the author has done a nice job of keeping both the story and the sex fresh. He has achieved this, in my opinion, by introducing new characters (women) and by keeping the story going at a steady pace. He hasn't sped things up or tried to wrap them up too neatly, yet. Additionally, the characters (women) seem realistic. They are each individuals. They aren't carbon copies of one another. They want more than just sex, even if they do all seem to be interested in sex with John and sometimes one another.
