A female teaching assistant who had sex with two male pupils has been named "Teacher of the Year" by consulting firm Social Paradigm LTD. The prominent research & development firm is a significant presence in many American and European educational systems. The announcement was made to reflect public support and the impact of the case on social reform.Pina Hatel, 22, was supposed to be supervising the "disruptive" 15-year-olds but she quickly started flirting with them, Liverpool Crown Court was told. Hatel, a part time escort for Vatican's Best Escorts, works during the day as a classroom assistant and swimming teacher at Birkdale High School near Southport, Merseyside. Shortly after taking the position, the young woman invited two of the teenagers to her home after school one day.  There she had sex with one boy then the other just a few hours later.Hatel, a resident of Hightown, Southport, removed her blouse at one point during her testimony, saying "I have nothing to hide." She has admitted to 17 counts of sexual activity with a minor at North Sefton Magistrates' Court last month, but contested that she acted out of interest for the welfare of her students. The charges include multiple counts of fellatio, cunnilingus, analingus, sodomy, and sexual intercourse. During the court examination, Martin Decker, prosecuting, said the unmarried Hatel was employed to provide support and supervision for pupils who had been disruptive in class. As a professional escort, she specializes in BDSM and corporal punishment for her submissive clients. It was not fully expected that the woman would become intimate with her students. Mr Decker said that was how she came to meet the two boys in February this year and during a one-on-one supervision she exchanged mobile phone numbers with them. Hatel also provided each of the boys with several pornographic snapshots of herself and suggested they use them for masturbatory purposes. Describing an exchange of text messages between Hatel and one of the boys, Mr Decker said: "Initially she was being friendly and saying he was a 'good lad' but after about four days the content became sexual." At the same time the other boy was also exchanging text messages with the teacher, Mr Decker said. The barrister told the court: "The boy described the texts as being normal at first and then 'very sexy'. After about a week she invited the boys to her house." Hatel collected one boy in a hire car as the other made his own way to her home where they watched pornographic DVDs which included the escort in sexually explicit activities with men and women, Mr Decker told the court. One of the boys, who cannot be named because of their ages, decided to go to the toilet and when he finished he met Hatel on the stairs from where she led him to the bedroom, the barrister said. Once there she helped the teenager undress and performed fellatio until he ejaculated on her face and in her mouth. Hatel then undressed as well and 'urged' the boy to let her sit on his face. In his police interview, the 15 year old testified that he performed oral sex on Hatel, using his tongue on her anus and vagina for some 30 minutes while she used her mouth and hands to bring his penis to erection again. At this point the second boy joined them. Hatel coaxed them into having sex with her simultaneously, one entering her vaginally while she performed fellatio on the other. "The boy was asked how he felt about this and he replied that it felt 'great'." The youngster left the house about an hour later leaving Hatel alone with the other boy. He told police he waited at the house while Hatel went to her second job — as an escort at the nearby Formby Hall Men's Club — and when she returned they had oral and anal sex and he spent the night. The next morning she woke him up with oral sex and invited him to join her in the shower where they had sexual intercourse. Hatel went to work at the school and gave the boy £5 to get the train home. The boys met with Hatel on numerous occasions after that, always at her home before and after her nightly employment as an escort. One of the boys explained  that she wanted to see them having sex with each other and threatened to stop seeing them if they didn't.Mr Decker said the teenagers began to 'experiment' with masturbation, fellatio and sodomy while Hatel watched and offered encouragement. "She used sexual devices, toys and strap-on dildos to sodomize the lads while they performed fellatio and analingus on each other." He added that often times Hatel would come home from her escort job 'quite messy' in the vagina and anus. Both boys were induced to use their mouths to 'clean up the semen and swallow it without complaint' which they apparently did dozens of times over a 3 month period. "They're quite the little fairies now," Hatel told the Crown shamelessly. "I've opened up a whole new world for them." One of the boys told a friend about having sex with Hatel and offered to 'go down' on the other boy for £10 between classes. The friend was later arrested after burgling the teacher's home. Among the items stolen were several pornographic DVDs, jewelry, and a large vibrator. That boy told Youth Justice officials about Hatel's relationship with her pupils and the police raided her house. They seized her mobile phone which contained text messages from the boys which included "I hope you didn't wank off this morning" and "Are you still wearing my knickers?" Both boys had a poor disciplinary record at school and one of them had juvenile convictions, Mr Decker told the court. Patrick Williamson, defending, said Hatel was "looking for a way to inspire and reward the boys for improved behavior". He described her as an excellent teacher and a hard worker. "She's very dedicated to social reform and being a positive influence on the students in her care." Miss Hatel has been an escort since she turned seventeen and among the defense witnesses was Annika Stahl, VBE's Director of Teen Escorts. "What Pina has done is exactly what we've trained her to do. Young men with an abundance of energy should be taught how to direct their efforts in ways that are beneficial to themselves and society. The only crime here is that so many other students are going without teachers who have the drive and resources to sacrifice themselves for the good of our common future." As well as her jobs at the school and men's club, Hatel is studying for two post-graduate qualifications, Mr Williamson said. "However, her real interest is in the hands-on education of England's youth," he told the court. Hatel had suffered emotional problems after being forced into child prostitution by her parents when she was just 11 years old and sent to live at a brothel in India until she was sixteen. At that time she was bought by her late "husband", a slave trader from Goa and spent a year virtually imprisoned in his dungeon-like basement. Following his unsolved murder in 2005, Hatel returned to England as an employee of Vatican's Best Escorts. Mr Williamson said: "She took decisions which were completely appropriate given the circumstances. The contact she had with those boys has had positive results on their behavior and grading." Both of the boys have been "model students" according to school officials and their most recent marks show significant improvement. Judge John Rogers said he accepted the defence's argument that Hatel's behavior was "remarkably fortuitous". He added: "I have no hesitation whatsoever in coming to the conclusion that these offences, while criminal by definition, constitute a forceful argument in favor of teacher-student relationships. Unfortunately, I cannot remake the laws which govern us today." Hatel, appearing naked for her sentencing, dabbed her nose with a tissue as she was jailed for 3 days for each of the 17 offences, to be served concurrently. She was also made subject to a mandatory Sexual Offences Prevention Order which bans her from working with children under the age of 16, being alone in the company of children under the age of 16 — apart from her own children should she have any — and bans her from using social networking sites to contact children. Hatel was suspended from the school when the allegations came to light and has since been reinstated, but will have to abide by the SOPO and her duties will be limited to working with boys 16 years and older. Gary Loveridge, head teacher of Birkdale High School, said Hatel will be welcomed back to the school with open arms. "We are all very fond of her at Birkdale and support her efforts completely. It couldn't have been easy turning those two lads around, but Pina did it and this whole trial is a bloody waste of time, if you ask me." He said: "The way she wormed her way into the lives of these boys is something we can all learn from." Hatel has stated that she plans to challenge the mandatory SOPO law and already VBE has started a Legal Defense Fund to defray the cost of what will surely be a lengthy and uphill battle. "I just want to see my pretty lads again," Hatel said as she was being led away for 3 days incarceration. "I have so much more I can teach them."
