Danny:

We lay there together, resting after we had given all we had for each other. I was lightly caressing Lizzie's back when she suddenly stiffened. I was daydreaming, so I didn't know what had affected her. I started to speak, but she quieted me with a finger to her lips.

Lizzie started to relax, her body slowly unwinding from its alerted state. Then they both stiffened as they heard a squeaky pulley and some voices from on the water. Lizzie looked at Danny, about to say something, when he put his finger to his lips.

Danny tossed Lizzie her dress and pulled on his pants. When they were both dressed he led her quietly out into the dark jungle. They stopped and sat down about 20' from the old pirates den. They sat still waiting until the noises from the jungle resumed.

He whispered in her ear, "There's a ship out there and they're coming ashore. I don't know who they might be, but we're not moving until we find out."

Elizabeth:

"I'm frightened Danny!" Elizabeth whispered to Danny as she held him tightly. His arms were around her in a protecting style, but soon he was loosening his grip. He started to move so he was lying on his stomach. Lizzie was still kneeling at the edge, but soon felt his hand on the small of her back. Danny pushed her down quickly as she gasped and her eyes got wide.

I lay there thinking that this was the end. I was going to die on an island. At least I was with Danny though. I watched as the creaking got louder then I saw the lights on the ship. The voices were those of drunken sailors. Elizabeth didn't know if they were pirates or not since she hadn't seen them, but she could sure tell they were drunk.

Finally they landed and were entering the den. There were about ten or so of them staggering off. Lizzie turned my attention to Danny as she watched his eyes intent on the ship and its inhabitants.

"Do you know who they are Danny?"

Danny:

I had noticed something that Lizzie hadn't, these pirates were all of short stature. Also, the first pirate was a woman. Now, I realized who they were, these pirates were Chinese. They had obviously sailed down from the South China Sea. I knew that they were way out of their territory, so they must be here for a purpose.

Danny held still and was very quiet while the pirates ransacked the den. He held Lizzie's hand and smiled at her, hoping to let her know it was all right. Suddenly, shouts rang out from inside the den, they had obviously discovered the fact that the treasure was missing.

Danny held on to Lizzie's hand and they waited until the furor had died down, and he and Lizzie crawled backwards out of there until they reached the beach that they had first come in on. Danny led her up into the hills where they waited for the dawn.

Elizabeth:

My heart felt like it was up in my nose as I squeezed on Danny's hand hard. I didn't know what was going to happen, but peculiarly felt protected here with Danny. He seemed unmoved by everything happening and even flashed me a smile.

Time felt like it had stopped as they lay there, then Elizabeth heard the high-pitched screams coming from the den. I could only figure that it was because the treasure was missing. She was fixing to get up and run when Danny pulled her back to him. He covered Lizzie's mouth with his hand as he hushed her gently. She followed his lead as he started to crawl backwards.

At last they reached the beach where this had all started. Elizabeth thought that they would stop there, but when she halted Danny continued on. Since she was still holding his hand, she was taken aback when she found he was still walking. Lizzie didn't know where they were off to, but she would follow Danny anywhere.

They made their way to the hills and awaited the dawn. Elizabeth cuddled up to Danny as the sounds of the jungle got louder. She could see the sun just starting to peek over the horizon as her arms were wrapped around his waist. He just sat there caressing her back and kissing the top of Lizzie's head every now and then.

"Danny�" Elizabeth started as she turned my head slowly to look up at him. "Who are they and what is going to happen?"

Danny:

Lizzie and I were waiting up on the hills for the dawn. She asked me, "Who are they and what is going to happen?" I considered her question for a few moments, then answered in a calm, steady voice. "Well Princess, come morning they'll find the trail we made moving the treasure, and move the treasure to their ship. Whether they decide to look for us, I don't know. As to who they are, well they are Asians. I've heard stories of a woman pirate, a Chinese, woman pirate."

"I think that's her. If it is her, we would best not be taken captive. She would hold you for ransom, but never return you, even if the money was paid. She would give you to the crew until the ransom was paid, then sell you as a slave. Me, if I was lucky they would kill me. If not, I might be sold as a slave too. Like I said, we better not get caught."

"Don't worry, we are near the cliffs and can jump if they get close to us." Danny held Lizzie close. They were both shivering, but was it the cold breeze or fear.

Elizabeth:

When Danny answered me, he was so calm about it. That was a good thing. I mean if he were freaked out and so I was, we would get captured for sure. He kept explaining things to me as I just listened. My only question was if we didn't want to get captured, what were we to do? The island wasn't that big and they would find us for sure! Lizzie shivered in Danny's arms as he held her close. She was curled up in a ball as she nibbled on her nails. I was a compulsive nail biter when it came to nerves.

Danny:

It had been about an hour since the sun had come up, even the way up here they heard the triumphant shout of the Pirates as they found the treasure. Danny said, "Well, that's that. They found our treasure, easy come, easy go. It will take them most of the day to transfer it to their ship. We should be safe until then, so let us get some water from the spring.

They walked down the hill making as little noise as possible, then took the trail to the spring. Danny was explaining to Lizzie how they were going to hide up on the cliffs and if it seemed capture was imminent, how they would jump to their deaths.

Danny and Lizzie had drunk their fill and started for the trail with extra water, just in case. They were taken by surprise when four of the Pirates, led by their captain, emerged from the jungle all around them. Danny whipped out his knife, but a blow from the flat of a cutlass knocked it out of his hand, made his right arm go numb, and reopened the snake wound on his forearm.

Elizabeth:

I must have dozed off in the protection of Danny's arms. All too suddenly Elizabeth was awoken by shouts. She bolted up as Danny held her tight.

"Well, that's that. They found our treasure, easy come, easy go. It will take them most of the day to transfer it to their ship. We should be safe until then, so let us get some water from the spring." He suggested as Lizzie just nodded to him.

As they walked, he explained what he thought they should do. It all sounded good except for the jumping to our deaths. Although that would be better than being raped or becoming a slave. As long as I had Danny at my side, I would do anything with him.

The water felt so cool. I wanted to jump in so much, but knew I couldn't. Elizabeth cupped her hands together, dipped them into the cool water, and sipped the cool refreshment as Danny filled the devices they were going to use for water.

As they headed back to the trail, they were captured. Danny pulled out the knife as they yanked Lizzie away from Danny. It all seemed to go in slow motion when she saw the cutlass hit his arm, the knife go flying, Danny gripping his arm with a cry, and falling to his knees. Elizabeth saw the blood trickling down his arm and knew the snake bite had reopened. That was the least of our worries right now though!

Lizzie fought to get away as they held her tightly around the waist.

"Danny! Danny!" she cried as she fought against them.

"It would be in your best interest to stop resisting and stop that relentless screeching my dear." The captain said as she turned to face Elizabeth. Lizzie had a sinking feeling as she did as she was told. I had to know how Danny was though. Elizabeth looked past the pirate standing before her and saw Danny kneeling there holding his arm.

"I am sorry. Please forgive me. I just want to know..." Lizzie didn't get to finish before everything went black.

She awoke with my back against a pole and her hands bound behind her. Elizabeth's head was pounding like it was going to explode. It was dimly lit but soon her eyes focused. She was on the ship and although she couldn't be sure, she thought that they were on the move. Frantically Lizzie started looking for Danny. Finally she saw him lying face down not far from her.

"Danny? Hun? Are you alright?" Elizabeth asked in a wobbly and fearful voice.

Danny:

The last thing I remembered was me pulling my knife, the cutlasses below that knocked it away and a blow on the back of the head. I was waking up with my head ringing and my right arm totally numb. There was also a strange little bird screeching in my ear. I tried to make some sense of what was saying, it was saying my name. I was totally confused and decided not to wake up at this time, maybe the bird would make more sense when I woke up again.

Danny groaned and tried to lift his head, but he only managed to lay it on the other cheek, before he passed out again.

Elizabeth:

Elizabeth saw Danny lift his head slightly only to lie on the other cheek. He was out again. At least I knew he was alive, but I couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't touch him or hold him. Tears started to stream down her face as she fought hard to not make a sound.

Lizzie heard footsteps coming down the steps then saw the slender legs. It was the Captain. She glared at Lizzie then went over to where Danny was lying. She pushed at his side with her foot to which Lizzie heard him groan again and curl up. Elizabeth heard her scoff as she turned to face her other captive.

"Danny. Oh God Danny." I pleaded praying he was okay. Wondering what was going through this woman's mind. What was going to happen?

Danny:

Danny groaned when he felt someone kick him. He opened up his eyes and saw a short woman in boots standing in front of Lizzie. Her legs were spread to keep her steady as the ship rocked in the ocean's rolling waves. She was glaring at Lizzie, as if her very presence was an affront to her.

The captain spoke to Lizzie, "Your father has posted a reward for your safe return. It's too small of reward to interest me, but I think if we send him a note with a bit of your clothing to prove I have you, I can ask for more. Don't bother to give me anything, I'll help myself."

Sao, the woman pirate, bent down and grabbed Lizzie's dress, ripping it from her body. Danny heard a loud ripping sound and tried to lever himself off the deck. Sao saw him move out of the corner of her eye and kicked him in the ribs lifting him from the deck and throwing him against the ship's hull. She barked out a command in Chinese. Two Chinese sailors picked up Danny and dragged his unconscious body away. The sailors stopped to look at Lizzie's naked body tied to the pole. The captain barked out another command, to which the crew members responded.

Sao took one last look at Lizzie. "You will remain here, tied up, naked until the ransom is paid. My crew has orders not to molest you, but you will be wonderful eye-candy for them."

Elizabeth:

As the captain stood before her, Elizabeth heard only bits and pieces of what she said. I was still worried about Danny. I heard something about my father and I fazed out. Daddy! Was he okay? She shook her head to listen, but by that time the captain was done.

Sao bent down and tore the dress from Elizabeth's body. She cried out as she sat there now naked. Danny had tried to come to my rescue, but it didn't happen. Sao kicked him once again and he rolled into the corner.

There was so much commotion going on as I tried to make sense of it all. I was never going to be able to do that though. The captain was speaking so fast and in another language. Once she was done yelling to the crew, she turned back to face Elizabeth. She watched as they picked Danny up and dragged him away.

"Where are you taking him? What are you going to do to him?" Elizabeth yelled out as she tried to break free. The crew stopped before me to look as they held Danny in their grip. Sao never did answer me, but she did turn and yell at the crew. Once they were on their way again, she turned back to face Elizabeth.

"You will remain here, tied up, naked until the ransom is paid. My crew has orders not to molest you, but you will be wonderful eye-candy for them." She finished as she took off to where they took Danny.

Elizabeth was left alone. My mind drifted to what she had with Danny. How we started out so bad and how we were now. It was amazing and Danny was amazing. I knew he would be thinking of a way out of this when his head is clear. For now though, I was going to be eye-candy for a bunch of men. I just prayed that I wouldn't catch cold or scurvy out here now!
