Danny:

Danny walked back down to Elizabeth carrying two ripe coconuts. He tossed them at her feet and looked at the fish she mangled with the knife. Guess I'm gonna be the one catching and cleaning the fish. "When you finish working with a knife, you have to clean the blade princess, other wise it'll rust." Danny picked up a cloth from the dwindling pile of rags and wipes the blade clean. He wrapped the mauled fish into a leaf, saving it for bait.

"Those coconuts are going to add to the food we have. First we cut a hole in the coconut and drink the milk, then we bash it with something to break it up and eat the meat. It's good and beats fish day in and day out. You're gonna get tired of fish really fast, princess." Danny cut a hole in one of the coconuts for Elizabeth to drink from. He did the same with the other for himself. "Good huh?" he said as he drank the lukewarm milk.

"Hey Elizabeth," Danny said once his coconut was empty, "if you want to wash up, just let me know and I'll take you to the spring. I'll have to stay close, but I promise you I won't look, princess."
Danny set his coconut down and walked into the jungle looking for something to break the coconut apart with.

After a few minutes Danny returned with a stone, a stick and some tough vine. Danny used the knife to cut the stick so it would hold the stone, he then tied the stone to the stick with some vine. "Presto, jungle hammer."

Danny hit the coconut with the hammer, which promptly fell apart. After fixing the 'hammer' a few times, it finally broke the coconut open, exposing the fresh, white meat. He passed some to Elizabeth and they gnawed on it. Day 2 being marooned and we're doing pretty good, I wonder what's going to happen next.

Elizabeth:

The coconut was good. It was so sweet, but seemed like a lot to go thru to get food. I guess being marooned; I had to get use to doing things on my own. I would have to show Daniel that I could do things. I hadn't done too well with the fish, but I would show him somehow.

I was so hot that I did want to feel refreshed.

"Daniel, could you please take me to that spring? I am so hot and I want to cool off. Please?" Elizabeth asked as she gnawed on the coconut again.

Danny:

She seemed to be enjoying the coconut. Good, maybe she could adapt to this sort of life, at least until they were rescued. Danny finished gnawing on his pieces of coconut and tossed the husks in a pile on the beach. They may come in handy some day.

Elizabeth was gnawing on her coconut like a trooper. Then she asked, "Daniel, could you please take me to that spring? I am so hot and I want to cool off. Please?" I couldn't see anything wrong with her bathing at the spring; I'd be there to guard her.

"OK princess, I'll be on guard while you wash up and I promise not to peek. Wait here a minute." Danny returned with a few leaves Elizabeth had never seen before. "These are Eucalyptus leaves. They will be like wash cloths with soap, only they leave a nice cooling feeling and scent."

"Ready princess," asked Danny. Elizabeth nodded. "Just follow me then." Danny opened both sides of the knife. I'm ready if we run into anything. He led Elizabeth to the spring, then waited out of sight, behind a large bush. Soon he heard splashing sounds, she was cooling off and washing away the last few days. Danny waited patiently.

Elizabeth:

She followed Daniel to the spring. It was a little dark and then insects were all over the place. Elizabeth was walking slowly and had something run over her feet that she let out a shriek and held tight to Daniels arm. He flinched and got in attack mode, but then just looked down at her.

"I had something run over my foot. I didn't like the feel of it. I'm sorry Daniel."

He said nothing just continued on to the spring. Elizabeth saw him shake his head. There were a lot of things I was going to have to come to grips with. Me jumping at every little thing was one of them. I had to prove to Daniel that I could do this.

Soon they were at the spring and he was true to his word. He went out of sight so he couldn't see her. Elizabeth took the dress off and dove into the cool waters. It felt so good! She started to swim around the little spring then rubbed the leaves that Daniel had given her over her body. He was right and they did feel cooling and sort of tingly.

Elizabeth didn't want to be in the spring too long, but she could have sworn that she heard something. Elizabeth was sure it wasn't Daniel, but it could have been.

"Daniel? Are you there Daniel?" Elizabeth whispered into the jungle.

Danny:

Danny walked ahead of Elizabeth taking her to the spring. She let out a shriek then apologized, "I had something run over my foot. I didn't like the feel of it. I'm sorry Daniel." Danny just nodded and continued on. That girl is gonna be the death of me yet, she needs to calm down.

Elizabeth was enjoying the spring, while Danny kept watch. He couldn't really hear anything because of her splashing. The splashing stopped and Danny heard Elizabeth whispering, "Daniel? Are you there Daniel?" Then he heard a sound of leaves being brushed against.

Privacy be damned, something is out there. Danny burst through the bush just in time to see a giant python slide into the spring. Not even noticing Elizabeth and her lack of clothes, Danny jumped into the spring between Elizabeth and the snake. He grabbed it as it coiled around him and Elizabeth screamed.

Danny was hacking and slashing at the snake while trying not to be bitten. He new the python wasn't poisonous, but it could chomp off a good piece of him if it got in a good, solid bite. The snake was soon bleeding into the water from it's many wounds and it seemed to be getting weaker. The snake bit his right wrist and the knife fell into the water. Luckily for Danny, it had decided to retreat and left the pool.

Danny staggered out of the spring and fell face first into the brush, his wrist bleeding from the bite.

Elizabeth:

After Elizabeth had called for Daniel she could still hear something in the jungle then saw it. Something HUGE had slipped into the spring with her. She was paralyzed with shock. Elizabeth didn't know what to do, but then Daniel was there grabbing the snake. She wanted to help him, but she didn't know of anything to do. Liz was a helpless mess as she just screamed. She was screaming for Daniel to get away from it or yelling at the snake like it would listen to her. Elizabeth watched as Daniel hacked and slashed at it.

Soon Elizabeth shut up as she watched him protecting her. He was protecting me? After everything I had put him thru, he was being cordial to me? I still couldn't believe it, but I was thankful he was being kind. Seeing him more than I had on the ship, I started to notice he was pretty handsome. I had even started to be kinder to him and try to do as he asked. I had to do something since I didn't know what our fate would be.

Finally the snake took off as Elizabeth watched Daniel stagger out of the spring and fall face first into the brush. Was he okay? She swam quickly to where he lay and scrambled to his side.

"Daniel? Danny? Are you alright?" Elizabeth cried as she knelt beside him. Liz had forgotten that she had nothing on as she rolled him over. Elizabeth noticed that he was bleeding from the wrist. Liz looked around quickly to see if there was anything she could use to tend to the wound. Elizabeth saw the dress on the bank and ran to it quickly then she tore at it. Elizabeth ripped off some strips and ran to the spring and dipped one into the water and ran to his side once again. Elizabeth held it on the wound and applied pressure as she held it above his head. Elizabeth watched as his chest heaved so she knew he would be fine. As the bleeding started to subside, She took the dry cloth and wrapped it around the wound. Elizabeth applied it the best she could hoping that it would be right.

Liz walked back to the spring to moisten the cloth again to gently wipe Danny's face. When she returned, he was coming to. He shot up as his eyes darted around then locked with hers.

"Danny�relax. It is okay. That snake took off into the jungle. Calm down." Elizabeth hushed as she pushed him to the ground again. As he lie there breathing hard, Liz patted his head with the cloth and gave him a slight smile still unaware of my nakedness.

Danny:

Danny awoke and sat up too quickly. Elizabeth pushed him back down. It was then that he noticed she had bandaged his wrist. "Thanks for helping me princess."

Elizabeth was wiping his face with a wet cloth. It felt good, but something was wrong. He looked at her again. She was completely naked and she was acting just like a mother hen, as if everything was as it should be. And she looked so sexy. I thought about not telling her and enjoying the show, but she would notice eventually and be really, really mad at me. I guess I had better tell her.

"Ummm, princess, lizzie. Thank you for bandaging me up, you probably saved my life. But I have a question for you. Where did you get the cloth for the bandage? Let me close my eyes while you think." The scream that was heard in a few moments, echoed for a long time.

Elizabeth:

In all of the excitement, Elizabeth had forgotten that she was naked. When Daniel had pointed it out to her, she was shocked. Elizabeth scurried for the dress that was on the bank as she let out a blood curdling scream. The jungle seemed to go quiet and then came to life as her scream echoed thru the land. Liz hurried and tossed the dress on as she curled up on the bank.

"Are you decent princess?" Elizabeth heard Daniel say as her heart raced.

"Um�.yeah�.I am sorry Daniel. I mean�Danny. Are you okay?" Elizabeth questioned as she made her way back over next to him. The dress was a little shorter, but it was for a good reason. I could use it shorter anyways. I had been tripping over it, but now I wouldn't be as much. Who knew, maybe I would end up with it shorter than it is now before we got rescued or who knew� maybe not anything on.

Danny:

She really looked great! We are now friends instead of enemies, I wonder if we'll ever be more. "I'm OK princess, you made sure of that with your fast attention to the wound. Neither one mentioned the dress, but they both thought of it. Danny could tell by the way she blushed crimson.

"Give me a hand Lizzie, I'll hobble back and cook us some fish. It needs to be cooked now or used as bait." His leg had been bruised by the coils of the snake, so he limped back with Lizzie under his shoulder. I could get used to being this close to her. She is an attractive girl.

Once they got back to camp, Danny started the fire using the broken glass. Once it was going good, Lizzie brought the fish over on sticks. Danny cooked it and they ate. Nothing like danger to make things taste better.

After they had eaten their fill, Danny said that he was tired. "Is it OK if I sleep in the hut? I won't try anything funny and besides, you could easily kick my butt." She agreed and Danny curled up in a corner. He was soon asleep.

Elizabeth:

Danny requested that I help him back to camp so he could cook us some fish. I was glad that I was able to help even though I have no clue where it came from. It didn't really matter now. He was okay and was going to make it.

They got back to camp as Elizabeth helped Danny to the fire so he could get it started. Elizabeth watched so she would know how to do it if ever she had to start it alone. Once he got it going, Elizabeth went to where the fish was and put it on a stick and took it back to Danny.

Once it was cooked, they ate and talked about things that they had grown up with. My life was pretty boring compared to his. I just told him I grew up in a palace and had people wait on me hand and foot. I was never really allowed to do anything. I guess that was why I was so helpless around Danny. I felt terrible about it too.

"Is it okay if I sleep in the hut? I won't try anything funny and besides, you could easily kick my butt." Danny asked after they had finished the fabulous fish. What was I going to say? No, you can't stay in the hut? He had been saving my life since we got on this God forsaken island and hoped he would be for the time we were here.

"Of course you can stay in the hut Danny. I don't mind. After all, you are the one that built it. You could very well kick me out if you wanted to." Elizabeth said to him as he just looked at her. He said nothing as he got up and went to the hut.

Elizabeth sat there as she listened to the life of the jungle start to come to life as the fire faded. Finally it was out as she started heading to the hut while there was still daylight to see it. Elizabeth didn't need to get lost on the beach here. Elizabeth went to the edge of the beach and to a cove that she had found while Danny was gone one time. Liz had hid a couple of blankets there that were in the bag, but didn't want him to know about them. I mean, what if he and I blew up at each other and he took all of the findings? I didn't want that. Even though he would be the one surviving here alone longer than I would.

Elizabeth traipsed back to the hut with the blankets in hand.

"Da-" Liz stared to say as she walked in the hut, but found him already asleep in the corner. How peaceful he looked. Elizabeth stood there as the moonlight started to light up the sky and shine in the hut. Elizabeth shook her head as she went to him and covered him gently. "Sleep well my protector." Liz whispered in his ear as she curled up in the opposite corner of the hut and huddled under the blanket.

It got cold in the night and the blanket wasn't doing anything for her. Elizabeth opened her eyes to see the beam of light shining on Danny. He too was shivering. Liz didn't want to take the blanket from him and have him freeze so, she moved closer to him quietly. Elizabeth flipped her blanket over him as she slipped under them with him. He didn't wake or anything. He had mumbled something, but Elizabeth couldn't make out what it was. Liz didn't get too close to him, but she was starting to feel warmer under the blankets with him.
