“Morning!”
Melanie looked up as she unlocked the door to her store. The greeting was from Toni, who strode down Pearl Street toward her.
“Hi, yourself,” Melanie answered. “You´re out early. Come on in, I´ll start some coffee.”
The two women went into the store and Melanie turned on the lights, went about making coffee. Toni was wandering about the store, looking at the displays of lingerie, lifting the fabrics, looking at the construction of the garments.
Melanie called, “Come and get it!” and Toni walked to the back of the store, entering the little office. She went to sit on the wide leather sofa.
“Can you hear if someone comes in?”
“Oh, sure,” Melanie answered. “There´s a bell back here. I can even watch for shoplifters.” She waved at a small TV screen that showed the inside of the store. As Toni looked, the scene shifted to another part of the store. She took a steaming cup from Melanie, waved off the offer of cream or sugar.
“Umm, Good.”
“How come you´re not at work? I don´t usually see you until lunch time, and you don´t often come in here.” Melanie looked slyly at Toni, “And most lunch times you´re with Ned.”
Toni laughed. “Yeah. Funny, I never thought anyone noticed. Yes, we do lunch a lot. But I haven´t come here because I´ve never worn the stuff you sell. But today, I´m buying.”
“Really? Great. But no rush. Take your time and enjoy your coffee. You looking for anything special?”
“Yes, at least for me, it´s special. This morning, on the way here, I threw all my old underwear in the dumpster. I need everything, Mel. The lot. And I want the sexiest stuff you have. You´re alone, though. Won´t that be a problem?”
If Melanie was surprised, she hid it. “I think we can handle that. The girls don´t come in ´till later – that way, they cover lunch and handle the evening business. I like to be home when Rudy gets there, you know. He doesn´t work late too often, no matter what he says. I try to make it worth his while to get home early.”
Toni leered. “You get in a little loving before dinner?”
Now Melanie was surprised and showed it. “Yes, we do. I like that, and so does he. You surprise me a little, Toni. I didn´t think you cared much about that.”
Toni looked sheepish, then gave Melanie her straight-ahead look. “I didn´t. I used to pretend sex didn´t exist. I´ve stopped doing that.” She changed the subject.
“Look. I need everything. No bras – I´m never going to wear one again, probably. So, I´ll need panties – lots of them, all kinds, all cuts and fabrics, until I decide what I like best. And camisoles, singlets, undershirts – whatever people wear on top, just as long as it´s hot. Hot looking, I mean. Hot feeling, too, if there is such a thing.”
Melanie grinned widely. “That´s pretty much in your own mind, I think. Sounds like we´re going to have fun this morning. Tell me your sizes, see if I´ve guessed right.”
Toni told her, and Melanie said, “Wait here a second. I´ll bring a few things back. Monday´s a good day for this, not too much action Monday mornings.” She went out front and, on the surveillance TV, Toni – standing, drinking her coffee – could see her walking purposefully through the store, picking up garments as she went. Soon she came back in the office.
“Take a look at these,” she said, spreading the items across the front of her desk.
Toni put her mug aside, picking up the various bits of lace and satin, looking at the construction, holding them up – first in front of her to gauge the effect, then holding them against her body to estimate how they might look.
Melanie said, “Want to try some on?”
Toni looked at her. “Can I do that? I thought...”
“Well, panties – tell you what. I´ve got something that´s hardly there at all. Put that on and you can try on anything you want. Your... uh...”
“My pussy´ll be covered, right? That´s all that matters.”
Melanie nodded. “You got it. Here. Use this.” She handed Toni a tiny, white lace G-string.
Toni held up the scrap of fabric, looked at it and spread it with her hands to see how it should go on. She shook her head wonderingly, then put it on the desk.
“Right,” she said, unzipped her dress and pulled it off. She stood stark naked in front of Melanie, and reached for the G-string. “I think this is going to look great all by itself.”
Melanie´s eyes were wide, and she gave Toni a thorough inspection. “You´re gorgeous. I had no idea you had such a great body.”
“I told you I´d thrown everything out. I meant it.” By then, Toni had one foot in the G-string, and stood holding it while Melanie looked her over. Then she stepped into the garment, pulling it into place. She looked in the mirror behind the door. “I was right. I look almost more naked with this on.” She turned and radiated a smile at Melanie. She walked to the edge of the desk, where the other garments lay and looked at Melanie with a grin. “Show me what else I should wear. What do you wear? You always look so sexy.”
Melanie took a deep breath and pulled off her sweater. She wore a camisole of raspberry lace that left her breasts largely exposed, merely covering the nipples. “How about something like this?”
Toni whooped. “Wow! I love it. I want it. What else have you got on? Show me.”
Melanie dropped her skirt. Her panties were the same color, matching lace, and crotchless.
“Come over here,” Toni said, “where I can see better.” She bent down, inspecting Melanie´s pelvis closely. “They´re wonderful. I never thought of that.”
“You´ve really surprised me, Toni,” Melanie said. “What´s going on?”
“I crossed a big river this weekend, Mel. Someday I´ll tell you about it. But the point is, I´m a whole new person, kind of. At least where sex is concerned. I´ve discovered that almost everything I had been afraid of is something I like, now. So I´m going for it.” Suddenly, Toni noticed Melanie´s arousal. “Uh, don´t get me wrong, but I´m not ready to try girls. At least not yet. Right now, I need some clothes.”
The two of them dressed Toni in a series of pretty and sexy under-garments, and soon Toni, dressed in lacy tap panties and a reasonably demure camisole, went out into the shop to look for more. Melanie took off her raspberry underwear and slipped into a long, purple lace dress that emphasized her figure. She helped Toni find the things she liked best.
“Are you going to wear that here in the shop?” Toni asked.
“Yeah. I try to wear something from stock now and then. It gives the customers ideas.”
“I´m sure it gives your men customers ideas.”
“Well, I know how to keep that under control. And you´d be surprised how docile they are. Half the time, they buy a copy of whatever I´m wearing just to take home to their wives.”
“You know,” Toni observed, “you could set up a manikin with the same thing you´re wearing. Let them check that out at close range.” Melanie nodded her agreement.
When Toni was finished selecting her new lingerie, she had a huge mound of merchandise on the counter. “Put it on my card,” she told Melanie, handing the plastic to her. She still stood in her underwear.
“Tell you what, Toni,” Melanie said. “Let me ring this up while you put your dress back on. It´s okay with me if you wander around the store in that outfit, but you might get upset if someone comes in.”
“Well, probably not, Mel, unless I´m mistaken. But it´s a small town, and I suppose I only want my friends to know how I´ve changed. Don´t forget to charge up what I´ve got on. Be right back.” She disappeared into the office, returning shortly in her dress. Melanie had her purchases in a big bag.
“You know what?” Toni said, “I took off those things I was wearing and left just that G-string on. I just love it. Have you got any others like it? Other colors?” She gave Melanie the bits of lace she had removed.
“Sure do. You want some?” They found several more and put them in the bag. Melanie finished up the charge slip.
Toni walked around the counter and hugged Melanie hard but briefly, took the bag of clothes and went out the door.
Melanie watched her go, shaking her head. ‘Wait till I tell Rudy,´ she told herself.
