All of Rylee's plans were dashed by six simple words. "I made tuna sandwiches. Who's hungry?"
Those words came out of Colleen O'Brien's mouth before her ginger-haired daughter could ask permission to go swimming in the lake. Almost immediately, Uncle Jake replied that he was famished followed by the rest of the Winston clan agreeing. Rylee silently pleaded with her favorite cousin, Annie, but the raven-haired preteen waved her off.
Seeing she was outvoted 5 to 1, Rylee reluctantly agreed to the nourishment. After all, a yummy lunch was not the worst that could happen. As her mother told her before, the lake would still be there.
As she sat there dressed in only her peach sundress, since her daydream had made her panties unwearable, Rylee thought even having that single garment on stifled her. She wished every inch of her skin could feel the air directly. This was strange as she never contemplated being nude before. And certainly not in front of others, even if they are family.
Looking at her cousin seated next to her, Annie too seemed uncomfortable in wearing her white tanktop and aqua-colored boy shorts. Rylee thought maybe it was the unanticipated training bra barely visible underneath the top. A dirty idea shot into her head, bringing a smirk to her mouth. Her three-month-older cousin was developing her boobies. Maybe Rylee would be next. Perhaps in time for the fall.
With each bite or two, Rylee would splay her thighs apart, giving her uncovered pussy a chance to breathe. From their seats next to each other, only her best cousin could see as her sundress bunched up. Annie gave the fidgety girl a quizzical look, but said nothing.
As they started to clear the empty plates, Rylee again attempted to get permission for a dip in the lake. But as before, her mother out-foxed her. "Don't forget, girls. You have to wait a full hour before going into the water." It was just like her mother could read her mind. They were prisoners in the cabin for at least 60 minutes longer.
However, three bright spots made the girls happy. First, Uncle Jake decided to take a nap in one of the bedrooms. Aunt Moira joined her sister, Colleen, in the kitchen in preparing for the weekend meals. And thirdly, and most importantly, Cousin Shane decided to take a walk into the woods. By himself. The fourteen-year old stated he was going bird watching. And declared in that snotty voice of his that he was old enough to do it alone.
Free of the others, Annie joined Rylee in the bedroom Colleen was bunking in. "I'm glad your brother left," said Rylee softly.
"Me, too," admitted Annie. "He has been bugging me since school let out. He made a big deal out of this trip. I'd kinda like to leave him here for the whole summer."
Both girls giggled at the thought before lying back on the uncomfortable single bed.
"You've been up to the cabin quite a bit, haven't you?" asked Rylee.
"A couple times each summer," replied Annie. "Mom says she loves it here. I think she's a lot like Grandpa. Dad's more of a city dweller. Why do you ask?" She glanced over at her cousin. "Does it have anything to do with your lunch antics?"
Rylee was half-tempted to lift up the hem of her sundress. Instead, she rose from the bed and retrieved the gray plastic object that she had hidden in the dresser drawer. "Did you ever see this before?"
"Yeah. That's Grandpa's picture thingy. I've seen it sitting around, but never used it. They never had any of his special disks to view."
"Well, I found one," beamed Rylee. "Want to see?"
"You bet."
Rylee gave the device to her cousin and position Annie's finger on the advance lever. She let the girl click slowly through the seven frames. Then Rylee flipped the hidden switch and sat back to watch her cousin's reaction.
"I didn't know it did that," said Annie, her breathing slightly heavy. "How did you find that out?"
"Sheer luck and boredom." She put her finger to her lips and snuck off the bed and over to the door opening. Sensing no one around, she crept closer to her cousin. "You can't tell anyone."
"All right."
"Don't think me crazy, but I had a dream or vision or memory or something after I found the switch."
"Go on."
"In it, I watched not only this disk, but several others. All with same blonde girl. And this man with a raspy voice was…well…encouraging me to feel good."
Annie's mouth dropped open. "Really? That had to be Grandpa. But was it just a dream?"
Rylee lifted up the hem of her sundress to her navel, showing off her unclothed pussy. "I got so turned on by the vision, I soaked my panties. That's one reason I wanted to go swimming so bad."
Annie sat there with a deer in the headlights look, staring at Rylee's exposed nether region. Finally she asked, "What do you want to do now?"
"I'd love to find more of these disks. Want to help me look?"
"Sure." A smile came over Annie's face. "I bet you haven't looked up in the attic, have you?"
"I didn't even know there was an attic."
Annie motioned for her cousin to follow her. "Bring the viewer." Out in the hallway, Annie took a long pole and hooked the end of it on a ring hanging from the ceiling. "Watch out."
With both girls standing in doorways, Annie pulled on the ring and a portion of the ceiling swung down. A ladder then slid down to allow the girls to climb up.
"How did you know how to…"
"I watched my dad do it. Up you go, Cuz. Time's a wasting, as Grandpa used to say."
At the top, Rylee turned to her cousin. "Why did you make me go first?"
"To look up your sundress, of course."
"Perv."
Annie winked at her cousin before motioning her toward several trunks. "These are the trunks Grandpa used to have in his bedroom. Let's start with these."
The two girls sifted through the top truck, finding mostly clothes. And mothballs. Disappointed, they moved it from the stack and searched the middle one. They didn't find any picture disks, but did find a box with several colored chokers in it. Setting them aside, they removed the trunk and explored the remaining one. To their delight, on the top layer of stuff they found a shoebox with white cardboard disks in it.
"Jackpot," said Rylee. She picked up a random disk and inserted it in the viewer. "It's a different girl," she said. "It's a redhead about 8 or so." Lowering the viewer, she said, "It almost looks like a younger version of one of our mothers."
"Let me see." Annie grabbed the viewer and peered in. "You're right, Cuz." After staring for a moment, she began clicking to the other images. "Oh, wow."
"What's she doing?"
"She's flashing the camera."
"Really?"
"It's kinda dark, but she's pulled her top down and then back up. I can't make out her boobies." Annie handed the viewer to her cousin. "Want to see?"
"Fuck yeah." Rylee flipped through the disk contents quickly. "You're right. It is too dark up here. Want to take them downstairs to see more of them?"
"Ah, sure," said Annie as she grabbed their other prize. "But we shouldn't let the adults see what we're doing. And especially not my brother."
After descending the ladder, they heard their mothers heading for them. "Quick, hide these," said Rylee.
While Annie took their treasures into the main room, Rylee struggled to get the ladder folded up again.
"Were you two up in the attic?" asked Aunt Moira. "You should get your Uncle Jake to help you. Of course, my lazy husband's just sleeping the afternoon away."
Rylee nodded and then looked at her mother. She expected to be scolded or worse. Instead, Colleen asked, "Could you and Annie go find Shane?"
"I guess. Why?"
"We…we have our reasons," said Moira.
Rylee shrugged, but headed into the main room to get her cousin. "We have to go get your brother. I guess we'll have to look at the rest of the pictures later."
"Too bad. At least I hid our treasures under the sofa."
Together the girls headed out into the woods. "I bet Shane went this way," said Annie. "There's another cabin over there. Last time we were here, a cute neighbor girl was sunbathing by the lake."
"Good place to start," said Rylee. "Boys are such pervs." They strolled down the dirt path hand in hand. Neither appeared anxious to find the boy.
"So do you think it was your mother or mine?" asked Annie.
"Maybe it was Aunt Erin," offered Rylee. "I never thought how much they look like each other."
"Redheads run in our family. I guess I'm the ugly duckling with this hair."
Rylee giggled. "Hardly ugly. I bet the boys are all over you." Annie shook her head no. "Not even Shane's friends?"
"You are assuming my brother has friends. Which he doesn't. At least not IRL ones. He has a bunch of buddies on-line. But I've never met any of his classmates."
"That's sad. Not even a girlfriend?"
Annie shook her head again. "He had a couple girls over for a pool party once, but nothing came of it. He's kinda shy. I don't think Dad's even had the talk with him yet."
They walked farther down the path in silence. Rylee finally asked, "How well do you remember Grandpa?"
"I know I visited him here several times over the years, even two summers ago, before he…" Her voice trailed off for a moment. Recovering, she continued."I recall distinctly touching his scruffy beard. And his raspy voice. But I really can't remember anything in detail that we did together. What about you, Cuz?"
"Not much," replied Rylee. "In fact, I couldn't even remember the lake. I know I must have been here. I think he blew raspberries on my tummy." She giggled a little. "And he called my mother Collie. But that's all. Can you believe that?"
Annie nodded. "It's almost like we were taught to forget about him."
Suddenly, Rylee put her finger to her lips and then pointed up the path. She had spied her male cousin. "Let's sneak up on him," she whispered.
Stealthily, they advanced, taking care not to make a single sound. It wouldn't have mattered. His mind appeared to be occupied with other thoughts.
Rylee could see his upper body above a leafy bush, but his lower half remained hidden. "What is he looking at with his binoculars?"
"I bet it’s the neighbor girl. But what's his other hand doing? That's what I'd like to know."
About five feet from him, the girls detoured around the bush, approaching him from the back. Shane definitely was studying a sunbathing girl, lounging under a shade tree. However, it was his shorts around his ankles and bare butt that caught his sister's attention.
"Shane, what are you doing?" Annie asked in a rather loud voice.
The teen turned, his mouth gaping open and his whole body blushing. Almost falling with his feet tangled in his clothes, he dropped his binoculars onto the grass and pulled his shorts up. Without a word, he sprinted away while attempting to button the shorts.
"Shane. Come back Shane," called the girls to no avail.
"Was he doing what I think he was doing?" asked Rylee.
"He was jerking off," said Annie manner-of-factly. "Be glad you don't have a brother."
"But, did you see the size of his…thingy?"
"His cock? Yeah, just like Grandpa's." Annie frowned at Rylee. "How did I know that?"
Not wanting to speculate, they looked toward the shade tree and noticed the sunbather kneeling on her recliner. The two girls gave a weak wave to the object of Shane's attention who slowly waved back. "We better introduce ourselves," said Rylee.
The girls grabbed the fallen binoculars and approached the interrupted sunbather. She was dressed in a lemon yellow halter top and matching French bikini bottoms with a white towel wrapped around her head. Her possessing a well-developed figure made Rylee jealous. I'd give my right eyetooth for boobies half that size, she thought.
"I bet she's been swimming in the lake," muttered Rylee with a tinge of envy.
Ignoring her cousin, Annie yelled at the girl. "Sorry we intruded. We got lost looking for my brother. I'm Annie, and this is my cousin, Rylee. We're from the cabin next door."
"You must be Seamus's granddaughters. I'm glad to meet you. I'm Eileen Watkins. I've heard all kinds of stories about you." She extended her hand as a greeting. "Wait a second, isn't there a third one?"
"That would be our older cousin, Keira. She hasn't arrived yet." Rylee scowled at the new girl. "How did you know about the three of us?"
"I used to talk with Seamus, I mean, Mr. O'Brien, when we were both up here. He'd sort of babysat for me if Mom had to run an errand or something. I was so sad when he died." She reached up and pulled the towel off her long flowing blonde hair.
"How was the water?" asked Rylee.
"Cold, but refreshing. Once you go in, you don't want to get out." She nodded at the binoculars. "Were you bird watching?"
Annie shook her head. "My stupid brother dropped them." She thought for a moment and added, "He was staring at you."
"I hoped he liked what he saw."
Rylee thought he must be blind not to. She stared at Eileen with her swimwear hugging her body. The halter covered two breasts just perfect for her physique, while the bikini ties landed on hips, real hips. Not boy hips waiting for puberty. While her long honey blonde hair could use a comb-out, once done it would shimmer.
"Ah, we better go, Annie."
"See you later," said Eileen. "And have fun this weekend."
Annie turned back. "If you get bored, come on over. We're barbecuing all weekend. Just stop by."
"Thanks. I'll have to ask my mother, but we might take you up on the offer."
The two girls were halfway home when Rylee asked, "So why did you invite them over?"
"You have to ask. Didn't you see her hair?"
"It needed a comb-out."
"No, the color. It's just like the girl in the picture. The one waving goodbye. I think she was Grandpa's model for those pictures."
Rylee stopped dead in her tracks. "You're absolutely right. And he would want us to be a good host, wouldn't he?"
The rest of the day was uneventful. Cousin Keira ended up staying longer at her day camp and wasn't coming up until the morning. Cousin Shane retreated to one of the bedrooms and moped about by himself, not even thanking the girls for retrieving his binoculars. The adults spent the time gossiping or eating in the kitchen. Not one wanted to brave the lake and made up excuses why the girls shouldn't either.
Annie and Rylee spread out blankets in front of the stone fireplace and drifted off to sleep with little trouble. They decided to leave the photos hidden for when Keira showed up. Being the oldest of the cousins, almost twelve, she might have some insight into them.
The girls were fast asleep when their mothers came into the main room to check on them. "They're so beautiful," whispered Moira. "Rylee inherited our hair."
"Dad's little angels," said Colleen. "He so wanted to be a great-grandfather. But he knew they needed to be at least eleven."
"Do you think they still remember his grooming?"
Colleen nodded. "I'm pretty sure they are ready. By the way, my daughter found the starter disk you planted. And experienced a flashback." She handed the soiled panties to her sister. "See what I found hidden in my bag."
"Rylee remembered, didn't she? Dad always thought she was the brightest. So, tomorrow…?"
"We have all weekend." Colleen took her sister's hand. "Shall we retire? I could use a warm body next to me."
"That means a night away from Jake's snoring. I could use that. But do you think we'll actually sleep?"
Colleen shook her head. "Not for a couple hours at least." She kissed her older sister. "Let's pretend we're teenagers again."
