“On your left, Sayako!”
“I’ve got it!”
The monster trying to flank the blue-haired magical girl didn’t stand a chance. A single burst of energy from the staff that Sayako was wielding was enough to make it burst apart, the creature’s pieces disintegrating before they even hit the ground.
Atsuko grinned. The rift today was a large one, but the creatures pouring out weren’t too tough. The two of them were more than enough to handle them. Giving one of the bulbous plantlings a kick, she cut another one apart with her longsword. It was burning with bright flames as red as her hair. “Yeah, that’s how you do it! Give ‘em hell!”
The two girls had managed to attract something of an audience, though the civilians wisely kept their distance. The monsters might’ve been easy for the two magical girls to handle, but ordinary humans didn’t stand a chance. Luckily, the plant-creatures weren’t particularly interested in hassling the audience—they were entirely focused on trying to get the magical girls, launching long vines from within their bodies in an effort to subdue the pair.
Of the two girls, Atsuko was by far the more experienced one. Having had her powers for over a year now, she had triumphed over a plenty of fights. Still, she hadn’t seen this type of a creature yet. The monsters still pouring through the open rift were hovering plant-things, shaped almost like onions. They weren’t particularly tough, but they were fast, and the vines spouting from within their bulbs weren’t a joke. Atsuko narrowly evaded a quick slam from one of them—the force of impact was enough to leave a crack on the pavement.
Unlike Atsuko, who liked to get into the thick of things, Sayako was more of a long-range fighter. The staff she was wielding, sky blue like her hair and her magical girl costume, could launch tremendously powerful shots of energy that blasted apart any otherdimensional beings they managed to hit. That fit her just fine. Having been a magical girl for only a month now, she hadn’t yet quite developed the sort of a combat sense that kept Atsuko safe. The red-haired girl seemed to almost have a sixth sense sometimes, sensing incoming attacks before she could even see them.
“Behind y… oh, you got it!” Sayako shouted, smiling as she saw her friend cut through the plant with an effortless spin. The sword cut through it like a hot knife through butter, the plantling letting out an odd squeal as its halves dissipated and vanished. The creatures were still pouring through, but the rift in the air, a visible disturbance leading to the world of Arcadia, was clearly about to vanish. In just a few more moments, the place would be safe again, and—
“Sayako, above!”
The blue-haired magical girl gasped in surprise, lifting her staff above her head to blow up the bulb that had managed to get above her. At the last moment, though, one of the creature’s vines managed to knock the girl’s staff aside, the shot missing and vanishing into the blue sky above. Gritting her teeth, she tried again, trying to fire another blast at the creature that was now trying to slam into her…
Before the magical girl could let loose another shot, however, the bulb exploded. A cloud of silver spores burst forth from within it, filling the air so thickly that it was difficult to see or even to breathe. Hacking and coughing, falling onto her knees before trying to crawl away to get some fresh air, Sayako could hear Atsuko’s voice from somewhere in the distance. “Sayako! Are you okay? The rift’s closing, just hang back. I’ll get rid of the rest of them!”
Sayako’s eyes itched and her throat hurt, but at least the creatures had been taken care of. Atsuko’s flaming sword had made swift work of the remaining bulbs. The audience around the pair, after getting past their initial concern for Sayako’s health, clapped and cheered at the girls.
“Well, it looks like you’re okay. Would’ve been pretty bad if I hadn’t been there, huh?” Atsuko asked, grinning. Her bright red costume and fiery hair reflected her direct, straight-forward personality—though both of the girls were twelve years of age, Sayako was definitely the more mature of the duo.
Sayako coughed. “Yeah. Thanks…” she managed to say, rubbing her itching eyes. “We did well, huh?”
“Yup. We make a fine pair!” Atsuko said, ruffling her friend’s hair and laughing. In Sayako’s magical girl form, her curly hair was as light blue like the sky above—even after Atsuko roughed it up, it still looked as perfect and beautiful as if she had just been to the hairdresser. There were definitely some perks to being a magical girl.
Looking around, the audience didn’t seem to be about to leave. Sayako didn’t really like that. The magical girl costume was embarrassing enough by itself, and having people stare while she was wearing it made her uncomfortable—even though it was unlikely anyone would’ve recognized her in her magical girl form. “Um, we should leave,” she suggested.
“Right then. See ya!” Atsuko said, waving at the people gathered around them before jumping onto the rooftop of a nearby convenience store. Sayako followed in suit. A few hops later, they found a convenient enough back alley to drop their magical girl forms and return back to their usual selves.
Within a moment the girls were back in their usual clothes, both wearing light jeans and t-shirts. Sayako’s vibrantly blue hair had returned to its ordinary black, and though Atsuko had dyed her own hair copper, it was a far cry from the bright red she had when she was transformed. To an outside observer, they would’ve just looked like two friends out on a walk, and that wasn’t far from the truth.
The two of them had been classmates in the elementary school, after summer they’d be transferring to junior high. Sayako hoped they’d get placed on the same class. Before she had gained her powers, the two of them had barely known each other, moving in completely different circles—Atsuko played soccer and tended to hang out with other sporty types, whereas Sayako was a more of a shy, withdrawn girl with only a couple of friends. After she had first transformed into a magical girl, though, after she had first felt the urge to protect her home from otherworldly invaders, she had by chance ended up getting rescued from trouble by the other magical girl. Since then, the two of them had patrolled the streets together, fought against monsters together, eaten lunch together—in just the span of the month, they had become the best of friends.
“You wanna go for ice cream?” Atsuko asked out of the blue as the two exited out of the quiet alleyway. “There’s a pretty good place nearby, I think. It’s getting pretty hot, could use something to cool down.”
Sayako giggled. It was just like Atsuko to get something sweet after a fight. Nodding her head, she was about to say yes, only to be interrupted by another fit of coughing.
“You okay?” Atsuko asked with some slight concern.
“Y-yeah. It’ll go over soon, hopefully. I’m already feeling better.” It was true. Her eyes no longer itched, either. “I’ll just need a glass of water. Let’s go get that ice cream, alright?”
By evening, Sayako had virtually already forgotten the fight earlier that day. All in all, it had been unremarkable: neither she nor Atsuko had gotten hurt, and the invaders had been pushed back before they had managed to do any real damage. Most encounters with invaders these days were no more dangerous than that—the horrors of the massive invasion two years ago had nearly been forgotten. Since the magical girls were so easily able to sense rifts and eliminate whatever came through, fights these days were usually small-scale encounters that were quickly over. Genuinely threatening monsters were rare, and a magical girl getting killed—or even very seriously injured—was such a rarity that it always made the headlines through the country if it happened.
It was still a real possibility, but Sayako wasn’t too afraid. The magical girl form gave her courage as much as it gave her strength. Besides, she knew that without her kind, Earth would’ve long since fallen. It was her duty to help and she was happy to do so. Besides, she had Atsuko to help her. She was hardly alone in what she did.
“I’m going to sleep. Good night, mum!” she said, concealing a yawn with her other hand while waving at her mother with the other. It was getting pretty late, and Sayako simply wasn’t the type to stay up late. Even if it was the summer break. She was awfully thirsty, though. Drinking a large glass of water before brushing her teeth, and then another after that, she headed to her bed and soon fell into a deep, restful sleep.
When Sayako woke up, her throat was parched and her head hurt. Groaning slightly, she climbed out of her bed, walking into the bathroom in her pyjamas. Was she getting sick? Right now, at the start of the summer break? Filling her glass again, she emptied it thirstily into her gullet.
That seemed to improve her condition. Her head hurt noticeably less even after the first glass, and after a couple of more, it was as if the pain had never been there. That was odd. Was she simply dehydrated? The summer heats were starting, so perhaps she had sweat out far more liquid the previous day than she had thought she had. Taking a shower and finishing her business in the bathroom, she headed back to her room to get dressed.
She had no plans for the day. Most likely though, Atsuko would want to go for a quick patrol again. It was something the two of them did nearly every day—it was partially just an excuse to hang out together and check out different parts of the city, but every now and then they really did run across something dangerous. Like the day before.
When her phone finally received the message from Atsuko, Sayako set down the glass of water she had been drinking before responding to it. Apparently, her cousin was visiting—she’d be busy during the day but asked if Sayako would be around in the evening. Giving her an affirmative response, the magical girl put away her phone and stretched. It’d be another lazy day, at least until the evening. That suited her just fine. She had plenty of books to read.
The strange thirst continued through the day up until late afternoon, but then it seemed to relent. Even Sayako herself was surprised at how constant her thirst had been—she must’ve downed a dozen large glasses of water in the span of an afternoon. Just after the girl thought she was in the clear, though, the thirst seemingly gone, she was hit by another strange headache, this time accompanied by an odd desire to go out. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea. She had been cooped up inside all day, after all, and it seemed like a waste of a perfectly good summer day. Perhaps she could go return some books to the library to give herself an excuse to head out.
Stacking up a few books into her satchel, swiftly brushing her hair and putting on her shoes, she headed out. It was a bit of a cloudy day, but the breeze in the air was warm and pleasant. It was still three hours until her meeting with Atsuko, so there’d be plenty of time to return the books and to head home to get some dinner before that.
The headache seemed to relent, too. Just in case the thirst would return, Sayako had packed a bottle of water with her, but that seemed to be unnecessary. She felt healthy and good and ended up spending some time at the library to pick up a few books to replace the ones she had just returned.
She had walked almost ten minutes before realising that she wasn’t heading back home. She was on her way somewhere else entirely, but she didn’t know where. It was a strange feeling. The realisation didn’t really bother her—it felt entirely natural to walk where she was walking, and though she did not know her destination, she knew she was getting closer. On the back of her mind, she realised her behaviour was strange, but it was difficult to be bothered by that. If anything, she felt almost oddly curious about where her feet were taking her.
The house she found herself at was in a part of the city she hadn’t much gone to before. She wasn’t sure how long she had walked—perhaps half an hour or so?—but she knew she was where she was supposed to be. She knew the front door was unlocked. Opening it, she headed straight into the living room and sat down onto the sofa. She could see her own reflection in the mirror on the wall. She seemed oddly calm, the look in her dark eyes almost empty. Hearing someone arrive, she turned her head towards the doorway.
Sayako could sense the woman wasn’t human. Her aura, the energy around her was similar to the rift from yesterday, similar to the plant-creatures that came through it. As such, it was apparent she was Arcadian of origin—a creature from the world of nature, an enemy of mankind. The magical girl part of Sayako’s soul urged her to transform and to fight the creature, to destroy the invader. Its voice was muffled, though. Quiet. In Sayako’s oddly relaxed state, it was difficult to hear it. Difficult to care.
The woman laughed softly and approached the girl. She was pretty. She appeared to be in her early twenties; her skin was lightly tanned, her body slender but womanly. She wasn’t very tall at all. Her eyes were long and pointed, elfin in appearance, her lips and hair lushly green. Her eyes were strange: two silver orbs without pupils or irises, gleaming in the sunlight pouring in through the windows.
Placing her fingers under Sayako’s chin, the woman tilted her head upwards and looked the magical straight into her eyes. The girl’s lip trembled slightly. She was frightened, but found herself unable to run or fight back.
“Mm. It worked, I see. I’m impressed. Princess’ little diplomatic escapade produced some actual results. I’ve long waited to see humans this… vulnerable,” she said, a smile on her green lips. The woman’s breath smelled oddly sweet, like honey and flowers. It was pleasant—Sayako found herself breathing a bit deeper, her shoulders slumping as her body relaxed.
“Who… are you?” the magical girl asked with a trembling voice. The woman gave her a light chuckle.
“You can call me the Gardener. Everyone does,” she said, bringing her other hand up to brush the magical girl’s cheek.
A small, involuntary smile begun growing on the girl’s face. Her body felt oddly flushed. With every lungful of the woman’s breath she took in, the better she felt. Swallowing, she forced herself to ask the question burning in her mind. “What did you do to me?”
“You breathed in my spores, sweet girl. Grown and cultivated by yours truly. You gave them plenty of water and allowed them to spread and grow within you. To spread into your heart, your sex, your brain…” she kissed Sayako on the forehead, shifting to let her see herself in the mirror. “Why don’t you stick your tongue out? Do that for me, sweet girl.”
There was no reason to disobey the request. Sayako did as asked. With mild shock, she saw that her tongue was strangely discoloured—the insides of her mouth looked almost green. She blinked, not certain what it meant.
Grasping the girl’s chin again, forcing her to face her, the green-haired woman licked her lips. “The transformation is halted. We’re going to need to feed you some more spores. But you already belong to me. So there’s no need for us to hurry, is there? We could spend a moment getting to know each other. Would you tell me your name, sweet girl?”
Transformation? What was happening to her? Sayako’s shoulders shook a bit, tears forming into her eyes. “S-Sayako,” she responded with a broken voice. “Takeshita Sayako.”
“Very well, Sayako,” the woman said, her silver eyes gleaming with pleasure. “I want you to stand up. And I want you to change into your other form for me.”
With a meek nod, the girl obeyed. As the woman’s grip was loosened, Sayako stood up and did just as asked. The Gardener enjoyed the brief glimpse of the girl’s nude flesh before the magical girl costume begun manifesting on her, the girl’s black hair and dark eyes turning sky blue. The girl clenched her hand into a fist. It’d be so easy for her to summon her staff now. To blast the woman apart.
She did not. The woman chuckled. “So radiant, so beautiful. My, I can’t understand why you’d ever spend any time in that boring, mundane form of yours when you could always look like this. Like a flower in full bloom.”
The girl bit her lip, desperation growing within her. No matter what, she simply didn’t seem to be able to muster the will to fight back. She couldn’t resist, she couldn’t even run away. “P-please. What do you want?” she asked, her tone more meek than she hoped it’d be.
“What does any gardener want?” the woman asked, a playful smile on her lips. “To fill her garden with pretty flowers. To take care of them and to enjoy their fruits. Strip for me, Sayako. Take off that costume of yours. All of it.”
The magical girl produced an audible sob, only pausing for the briefest of moment before obeying. First taking off her shoes, white socks and gloves, she moved to pull the elaborate magical girl dress over her head. Her chest was small enough not to require a bra, and the costume had come with none. All that was left for her to take off were the white panties still covering her loins. She did just that, turning to face the woman.
It was clear the Gardener was enjoying her form. Sayako was slightly short for her age, slender and skinny. Her curly blue locks fell behind her bare back, as glossy and perfect as ever. Her breasts had only recently started growing, and though the mounds were noticeable, they were still tiny. Her girlhood was barely visible, squeezed tightly between the girl’s thighs. Her body was flushed and shaking, her shame and fear palpable.
“So beautiful,” the Gardener said, admiring the sight for a few good moments before gesturing at the magical girl to come closer. “Come. Lie down here, next to me. And spread your legs for me, sweet child. I have something for you.”
Resisting only for a brief second, Sayako walked slowly over to the sofa and laid down as instructed. She had never felt so vulnerable in her entire life—she wanted to scream and cry, but the spores within her mind didn’t let her even do that. Instead, she kept begging even as she obediently spread her legs. “P-please. N-no, let… let me go…”
“I have a little gift for you, Sayako,” the woman said sweetly, twisting her hand slightly. It was almost like a magic trick: a tiny rift opened just above her hand, an azure flower falling down from within. At first glance, the flower resembled a blue rose—but instead of having a stem, there were multiple wriggling vines growing from underneath it, long, wet and smooth.
The magical girl watched it with incomprehension, her eyes widening in terror as the woman brought it closer to the slit between her legs. “Hold them open, sweet child,” she said, gently placing the strange plant, vine side down, against Sayako’s girlhood.
Sayako’s gasp turned into an involuntary moan as the little vines slid right in, wriggling as if they were sentient creatures. She squeezed her hands into fists, clenching the fabric of the sofa tightly as the otherworldly plant invaded her body. She could feel them within her, burying themselves deep, attaching themselves to her inner walls as if permanently settling in. It wasn’t painful, but in its invasiveness, it felt horrifying. She tried to open her mouth to protest, to beg the woman to remove the plant, and then…
Sayako screamed. Not out of pain, but out of pleasure. Bonding itself with her clit, merging with her nervous system, the flower gave her pleasure unlike anything she had ever felt before. Her back arched as she trashed about, squeezing the sofa with enough force to rip its fabric apart. “Shh. Calm down,” the woman said softly, and the girl did her best to obey, her body still trembling in unearthly pleasure.
It only took a moment longer for parasitic plant to finish merging with the magical girl. Still panting, Sayako took a look at herself in the mirror—an azure rose seemed to be growing on her loins, a slight darker in tone than her hair was. It had stopped moving, but the area still felt sensitive. With fearful fascination, she moved to touch the petals.
“A-ah…” Her hand quickly jolted back. It felt good. Just touching the petals was enough to cause a surge of pleasure pass through her body. She turned to look at the Gardener, her eyes wet with tears.
“It’s a part of you now, sweet child. Does it not feel good? Is it not beautiful? I bred it specifically for you,” she said, moving closer, bringing her face once again next to Sayako’s. “But I sense you do not fully appreciate it. Don’t worry, Sayako. Let me help you. Breathe deep, sweet child…”
“N-nuh, no…” the girl protested, entirely in vain. Unable to resist the woman’s orders, she began drawing in the Gardener’s sweet breath once again, filling her lungs with its flowery aroma. With every breath, the heat in her body seemed to grow stronger, slowly drowning out the magical girl’s fear and shame. The woman slid her hand up the girl’s bare thigh, slowly and teasingly, before gently beginning to caress the petals of the parasitic flower.
The girl gasped and moaned sweetly, a delirious smile growing on her lips even as her sky blue eyes begun losing their focus. “My sweet Sayako. My beautiful little flower,” the woman said, slowly plunging her finger deeper into the rosebud and giving the girl her first real orgasm of the evening. She whimpered and trashed in pleasure; the woman let her only rest for a brief moment before continuing her caress. “You’ll be mine, won’t you? Mine to love, mine to take care of?”
“Y-yes…” Sayako said, almost crying out the words. The woman rewarded her with a kiss on her lips—the joy and pleasure it gave the girl were almost enough to make her faint on spot.
“Very good. Now, close your eyes and enjoy your reward…”
With every lungful of that sweet air, with every orgasm she received, Sayako’s soul feel deeper under the fey woman’s control. With a tender touch, the Gardener made the magical girl her own.
“Geez, where were you? You’re an hour late!” Atsuko fumed.
“Y-yeah, sorry. I took a nap and forgot to set the alarm,” Sayako responded, an apologetic look on her face.
The red-haired magical girl sighed. It was unlike her friend to be tardy, but she seemed sorry enough. “Well, whatever. I patrolled a bit alone, but nothing turned up. Might as well continue for another hour or two.”
“Yeah. You got anywhere where you want to go tonight?”
“Not really,” Atsuko admitted. Dutiful as the two girls were, they usually decided where to go largely on a whim. “Why, do you have an idea?”
“Uhuh,” Sayako nodded. “Follow me!”
Sayako hopped on ahead, and Atsuko followed. A moment later, the blue-haired girl bounced down onto a quiet alley between two large warehouses. A bit confused, Atsuko landed down next to her. “There aren’t any people here at this hour, y’know. No point in patrolling here if nobody’s gonna be in any danger.”
“It’s not that, Atsuko,” Sayako said, smiling at her friend. For the first time that night, Atsuko noticed that there was something strange about her. Her eyes looked a bit empty, unfocused—and as she took a step closer, Atsuko could smell something in the air. Was she wearing perfume? It wasn’t a bad scent—it was flowery and sweet, but it wasn’t really like her to…
Without a single warning, Sayako leaned closer and planted her lips against Atsuko’s. The girl’s guard had been completely down—never in a million years would’ve she expected such behaviour from the normally shy friend of hers. Her lips tasted strangely bittersweet, causing an almost burning sensation within her mouth as she deftly slipped her tongue in. The sweet scent around her felt almost overpowering. Atsuko tried to push her friend away, but found herself unable to lift up her arms. She felt weak.
“Mm. Mmm…” Sayako mumbled, letting the kiss go on for quite a while. Atsuko’s heart beat rapidly in her chest, her eyes wide open with shock. When the other magical girl finally pulled back, licking her lips, Sayako could see something very odd about her—her tongue, and the insides of her mouth, looked almost completely green.
The scent made her body feel hot, something beginning to itch between her legs. “W-what…” she mumbled, her voice barely audible.
Sayako responded with a giggle. “Oh, you can still talk? That’s not okay, mistress wanted you completely pacified. Another go, then~”
The girl wrapped her lips around Atsuko’s again, just as hungrily as before. The same bittersweet taste flooded her mouth again, and soon enough, Atsuko felt so weak she was barely able to stand. She breathed out roughly, unable to say another word.
“That’s much better. Oh, and here it comes~”
Atsuko could feel it. A rift opening nearby, similar to the one the plant-creatures had come from the day before. This time, though, nothing seemed to be coming through it. Sayako tugged her along, forcing her to walk towards it.
She tried to struggle. Tried to resist. But whatever substance she had just been poisoned with was keeping her weak like a kitten. Even though she stopped moving her legs, it was easy enough for the blue-haired magical girl to simply drag her along, straight towards the rift.
The first rule was to never go through one. You were unlikely to ever get back. That, however, did not seem to concern Sayako. Atsuko bit her lip as her former friend forced her through it, into another world.
“Take a deep breath, my sweet Sayako.”
The girl was eager to obey. The Gardener burst open the spore pod, releasing a silver cloud into the air. It made the girl hack and cough a bit, but she did her best to try to ingest as much of them as possible. How cute. The Gardener laughed softly and turned towards her other flower-to-be.
Atsuko was in the nude, lying on her back on the grassy garden soil. A red rose with glistening petals, complementing her hair, grew from between her legs. Unlike Sayako’s, her expression was still rebellious, still full of hate towards the fey woman. That, too, was cute in its own way. She hadn’t yet broken down the red-haired girl like she had done with her friend.
The girl’s body was a bit more toned and developed than Sayako’s was. She was slightly taller, her chest a bit more formed. She had a stronger body and a stronger will, but she’d make for just as beautiful as a flower as her friend would.
“K-kill you…” she mumbled, vainly struggling against the vines that were keeping her body still. The drug had long since worn off, but there were other methods to keep a girl pacified. And it wouldn’t take long for the vines to be unnecessary altogether—the first batch of spores within her was already nearly fully grown. With a playful smile, the Gardener leaned down and brushed the petals of the girl’s flower. Atsuko couldn’t quite suppress her tiny moan.
“A beautiful flower is more beautiful still when it stays silent. But do not worry, sweet child. By the time the Princess comes along to visit, you two will be in full bloom. Twin treasures of her garden.”
Picking up the watering can, the Gardener let another stream of water drizzle on the petals of the parasitic rose. It drank it down hungrily, feeding the spores within the magical girl’s body. Atsuko whimpered in pleasure and in despair.
It was getting so hard to think.
The girl was sitting on the ground spread-legged, staring blankly ahead at the thing that had once been her friend. Her blue hair, curled and beautiful, was still recognisable—the rest of her, however, could no longer be called human. Her flesh had turned planty and green; her mouth, eyes and nose had grown shut, just smooth skin in their place. She no longer needed to breathe, after all—her lungs, if they still existed, no longer had any function. The smooth, featureless plant matter that made up her face was vaguely terrifying. Was her friend still there? Was Sayako still aware of herself, aware of her condition? She had no way of telling.
The blue flower growing from between Sayako’s spread legs was as lush and vibrant as ever, some dew collected onto its surface. It wasn’t alone: numerous other blue roses just like it were adorning her hair, growing from her head.
The same thing was happening to Atsuko’s own body, no doubt. Her skin was already beginning to turn green. Her mouth wouldn’t open. There had been an odd itch under her legs and buttocks for a long time already, vine-like roots digging through her flesh and burrowing into the ground for nutrients. Her heartbeat had grown slow. It’d probably stop entirely, soon.
Atsuko could see the Gardener return. Sayako slowly turned her head towards the fey woman, obviously aware of her presence. She probably would’ve smiled, too, if she still had a mouth to do so with.
“Hello, Sayako. Are you feeling well?” she asked before pouring water down onto the girl’s body and everywhere around her, moistening the ground beneath. Leaning down to kiss her on the cheek, she tickled the rose between her legs before experimentally squeezing her tiny mounds. A droplet of something like thick sap seemed to pour out. Coating her finger in it, the Gardener brought it to her lips to taste it.
“Very good. You’re already getting mature. The Princess does love her sweet drinks so, I’m sure she’ll just adore you,” she said, before turning towards Atsuko.
“And you’re developing along quite nicely as well. A bit more fight in you than in your friend, but it seems the struggle is over. Give it a day and you’ll be just as her. A proper flower for the garden.”
She couldn’t even feel hate towards the woman any more. Emotions like that seemed so distant. She turned her head towards the watering can, her whole body feeling the thirst.
“Of course, of course. Here you go, my sweet Atsuko,” said the Gardener, pouring down the water onto the girl and everywhere around her. She could feel the roots under her coming to life, beginning to absorb the moisture from the soil around her. It felt good. She shivered in pleasure.
“Heehee, such a pretty sight. Well done!”
The Princess of the Seelie, the Ambassador of Arcadia, was visibly pleased. The garden held many wonders, but this was something new. The two plants facing each other, one spouting red and one blue flowers, were a marvellous sight to behold. She could sense them—the powerful souls of former magical girls, burning bright within their plant bodies. And they were here, in her garden!
“Watch this, your highness,” the Gardener said, giving an elaborate curtsey before moving towards the red plant. While dexterously teasing and stroking the rose growing from the plant-girl’s loins, she milked her chest with her other hand. Sweet sap poured out, strong-smelling and potent.
The princess licked her lips. “It’s even better than I expected. Let me see closer,” she said, moving to crouch down next to the red plant-girl. Almost absent-mindedly, she dipped her finger into the sap and tasted it. The essence of the former magical girl’s own soul was bound within the fluid. The taste alone was almost intoxicating.
The plant-girl turned its head slightly, following the Princess’ movements with its featureless, smooth face. It wasn’t entirely mindless, it seemed. Blinking her golden eyes once, the fey princess placed her hand against the girl’s chest, trying to sense the emotions within. Bliss. Contentment. The girl was at happy enough with her current condition, not smart enough to know any better. That was good. The Seelie prided itself on the fair treatment of other races.
“Any future plans to expand my garden, hm?” the Princess asked, a curious look in her golden eyes. The Gardener shrugged.
“Always, your highness. Though you know me. I experiment. As beautiful as these two flowers are, I do not wish to repeat myself. I would need… inspiration.”
“Well, I’m sure you’ll find it somewhere. You always come up with the most interesting stuff, after all. Heehee, I can’t wait.”
Next to her, the flower that was called Atsuko felt happy. The sun was warm and she had plenty of water. And her mistress had come to see her, made her feel so good once again.
Things couldn’t be any better.
