I began getting seriously involved in photography in 1970 when I bought my first 35mm camera. At the time I was working for Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey. The Labs had a very large camera club.

My work was in the field of electronic design drafting. It was an artistic pursuit even though it was a technical job.
