what others have said

Feedback has been a bit thin on the ground, to be honest, but these are some of the comments people have made to date ... all much appreciated ...

Job

"Really enjoyed this - started with the chronicles saga - looking forward to more there too, but this I thought was just right - well done!" Douglas (Pt 2)

"Well written but not exactly erotic. It was an interesting half story. You gonna write an ending?" Jerry (Pt 1) [Ending is now up on the site]

"Truly enjoyed your writing and I thank you for making it available. Love your English usage and found the story arousing and entrancing. Will there be more? One can hope." Xx (Pt 1)

"Delightful. I'm very curious to know what happens next." wdw (Pt 1)

Wisdom

"It's certainly a change of pace from the other parts of "Wisdom" to say nothing of your other stuff on ASSTR. I enjoyed reading it too, perhaps as much as you enjoyed writing it. Everything in this style wouldn't be too good from my point of view, but given the overall arc of this story some episodes like this do fit. Keep up the good work, both with "Wisdom" and the other continuing story. Your stuff is among the few continuing things I currently look forward to on this site." Anon (Penetration)

"This story fragment is a lot more demanding than the usual stuff posted on asstr. I often quickly skim the stuff on this site and still feel I gotten everything it has to offer. I had to read this. This is not a complaint. I certainly hope that you will continue this project." Anon. (ZXY)

"it is a great story it has a very ian m banks feels to it i like the ai and i can't wait to see there/your solution to all our troubles. have a good day" John B (ZXY) [And there was I hoping that no-one would pick up on the Banks echoes ...]

"This looks like it has real potential to be quite fun. I look forward to more." Anon (Intro)

Chronicles

"The storyline, the characters and the understated humour (something that seems to elude many of the trans-atlantic authors) are good, believable and interesting, even though I am not into computers (other than as a user). The philosophical references went straight over my head, yet their use in that scene brought a smile to my face.
The sex is in context and is not overly clinical, I can empathise with Colin in regard to his nervousness and naivity around women." Milo (6b)

"I have NOT read any of your work ....... Yet! [Possibly the best opening line I've yet had...] I read the 'Overview' for "Chronicles" today and if the story is as good, you have a winner. I believe you have a talent for humor." Seek

"If the plot were any thicker, you could use it for Library Paste. Its not exactly a cliff hanger, but I'd hate to wait for another month to find out what happens next." Unreal (8a)

"I've been following your story quite closely. Your work and that of SilliArtie are the only two authors that I look for on ASSTR. Keep up the good work!" GS

"The author can do any damn thing he or she wants, but I find the flashback/flashforward and two parallel action sequences a little disorienting. I would prefer straight (or kinky) narative with a limited amount of point of view shifting. I don't think making the reader dizzy helps the story." Richard (Ch 7)

"Blessed be! A story by someone who can spell. Long may you prosper (and keep writing)" Pip (6f)

"Keep up the good work" Joan (6e) [This comment, incidentally, is pretty much the reason why Ch6f got written at all ...]

"Your "understood" have me a bit cross-eyed occasionally, but all in all I LIKE IT." Gary [A comment I completely misunderstood when I got it!]

"I just read the story to date. I thought it was well plotted, with good character development. A good read. I look forward to reading further chapters." (6a) Felix

"Great! Can't wait for more" (6a) Graham

"I've enjoyed your writing quite a bit. I'm an american anglophile and carry happily along by your phrasing. I'm reading through this story for the second time and found that I really should comment to you as a bit of repayment." Gary [Nice thought ... if only others ... :-) ]

"Still not enough dialog to suit me, but that's OK. It's the exchanges where Dave gives voice to his view of teamwork and gratification in work that interest me." (5e) Walter

"very, very good as usual -- if a turn in a bit of an unexpected direction (not a bad thing) (5d) Anon

"Just read your story - Debbie and May's experience after the demise of Phil. You know, I read erotica for lots of reasons, not just the superficial thrill. This was, well, different. It felt personal." (5d) Rod

"Lovely work. Just thought you should know. What else have you written? There's that winning combination of our hero, exceedingly competent and decent, thrown into unfamiliar and dangerous situations and winning through. I'd like to see more concrete examples of his use of his mind, pride, and specialized knowledge to triumph. . . or maybe just make his way. He's got convictions. Let's see him explicate them, use them. Somebody famously said that he didn't know what he thought about things until he wrote about them. Let's see our hero learning first-hand the strength of his ideas about groups succeeding together." (3b) Walter

"A very realistic sounding tale of the birth of a company by less than enthusiastic non-corporate types. Quite enjoyable, though surprising to find on a site such as ASSTR.ORG given that the sex is downplayed compared to many other listed stories. Clearly, or maybe not, but it appears that you have given thought to the personalities of the characters and are able to reveal their natures through the dialogue and action. Overall, I'd think a story such as yours would work perfectly well in other media just by removing some of the graphic details of the sex. That is, it's a good story that I'd read if I found it somewhere else. (3b) Teeline

"I just found you on ASSTR. I am enjoying "Chronicles." I'm looking forward to future instalments. My only complaint is that I can read a lot faster than you can write." (5b) Anon [Hey, I do my best ..]

"Just to let you know I have just read the above story - most interesting, and looking forward to future copy. Well written and gramatically pretty good in the main, a few minor glitches, but still a very good read. It has the ring of 'credibility' about it, which is rather a rarity in many of the stories one reads from time to time. Thank you sincerely for your efforts!" (5a) Rod

"nice to read some sensible story for a change and it is in english - yeh.I read a lot of stories and the usual grammatical gaffs turn it from a real pleasure to a matter of trying to decode the damn thing to make sense out of it. I really enjoy the story because it is a story not some barely disguised smut. I spend a lot of time on SOL and have been through most of the decent writers and I must congratulate as you are one of them." (4b) Allan

"A very engaging story. I could do with a little more sex" (4a) ejp

"The "Chronicles" a are well written. I spent almost 30 years in "business" in various job titles and office politics. The story reminded me of the harshness of office politics in N.A. Your characters were as quirky as some of the people I dealt with in business." (3b) Meech

"I really enjoyed the story, good humor and just the right touch of sex. Please finish, I really want to know the ending." (1a) Anon. [You and me both ...]

Stand alones

"Liked the slow build up then the sudden rush. Nice writing." Anon (Exodus)

"keep this one going to see where it leads" nevada (Exodus) [I'm sort of working on this ... sort of ...]

"Why not continue 'Exodus'? You're off to a good start and I'd certainly be interested in another chapter or however long it takes this to go to where ever it's going." (Exodus) Anon [See above ... but don't hold your breath ...]
